I have been wanting to check out 1923 and Ghost Stories for some time now. I am so glad that I finally did. I didn't really know what to expect (was it going to be interactive? Mystery solving? Story telling and reenactment?) either way I was intrigued and I truly enjoy the subject matter.
The venue, 1923 Prohibition Bar, is so cool! The decor, ambience, and overall vibe. The main room has plenty of little nooks to hang out and there is live music, too.
As ticket holders for Ghost Stories you're led into a waiting room inside 1923 before the show to enjoy a cocktail or two and place an order for intermission cocktails until showtime.
The actual show is in a separate room next to the Speakeasy and once everyone is in there and seated, the show begins.
Ghost Stories is led by Kent Axell who does a fantastic job engaging with the audience and taking control of the room. The room isn't huge which I think would make it more challenging because you can pretty much see everyone looking at you but he definitely captivates the audience with his energy , humor, stories, "etc." throughout the entire performance.
I don't want to reveal anything because I think that the show is quite unique and special and I think that whether you're a skeptic or enthusiast when it comes to ghosts, you'll find the experience highly enjoyable. If anything you'll be wondering how Kent does everything!
The show is great alone or with a group and I highly recommend it. I would go again!
(Note: Ticket options include VIP and General and include one predetermined house cocktail. If you want to be up front on a comfy couch, choose VIP. I had General and it was perfectly fine because the room isn't huge)
