I’ve been backpacking for several years and I’ve never written a negative review before, but this time, I feel I have to. From the moment I arrived, the reception was incredibly rude. The guy at the front desk told my friend the hostel was full, even though Booking clearly showed availability, and my dorm was half empty. I was supposed to pay 400 pesos, I handed him a 500, and he asked if I had exact change. When I kindly said no (I speak Spanish and I’m always smiling — not that it should matter), he rolled his eyes, muttered “Jesus” in English, and looked visibly annoyed. Of course, he did have the 100 pesos change. The bathrooms were dirty, you have to pay for drinking water, and the atmosphere isn’t social at all. And the pool? It was completely green and full of algae — there was no way anyone could swim in it. It clearly hadn’t been cleaned or maintained in a long time. But the worst part? When I woke up one morning, I was alone in the dorm with one guy, and he was standing completely naked in front of me. It made me feel extremely uncomfortable and unsafe. Honestly, one of the worst hostel experiences I’ve had. I wouldn’t recommend it.

So lucky to have stayed there, worry free and cozy! Safe, quiet, easy to reach the beach and main street, as people may find, some other hotels will be disturbed by the nightlife when you wanna sleep. Very good staff and price/quality ratio!! Will be back Thank You !!

Clean, well managed, good location, cool rooftop co work area w pool, comfortable beds. Low key environment, not a party hostel. Favorite in PDC.

The atmosphere was fantastic, and the people were incredibly friendly. The staff, in particular, were exceptionally kind and offered great advice on places to visit in the area. I also made a mistake with my booking date and arrived a day early. The staff were extremely flexible and adjusted my reservation without any hassle. I truly appreciated their willingness to accommodate me. Overall, a great place to stay with wonderful service.

This was supposed to be a nice stay, I paid for an upgrade. They put as many beds as they can in a dorm/room, I guess to make more money. The rooms were too hot they turn off the air conditioning while the day. Not clean very good. Not a place no make friends or anything. The cleaner touched my stuff. I saw once I came back from one of the tours. Not any activities to make or meet people

It was beautiful and super clean, there were people there from several countries. Good space for making your meals. About 3 blocks from beach. And right near the "downtown", ferry, bus line ($15 to airport.) Several bunk beds in rooms but I happened to have only 2 roommates. Rooftop is like a spa. The staff are very helpful!

This place has a great potential but it’s just ok for now. Extremely clean, nice facilities, and top location, not a party hotel so you actually can rest. Nice top roof and kitchen.

So I stayed in a dorm room at 3b, I suffered at almost every moment of my stay and the main reason for that it the lack of air conditioning. Apparently there is a rule that the aircon is allowed only between 8pm to 8am, leaving you to suffocate in the rest of the day. And let me tell you - playa del carmen in HOT. There is no other space at the hostel that is air conditioned. There are also lots of people living in the hostel, and there is no hostel vibe, or social energy in there. Some of the staff don’t speak a word in English and didn’t know how to help me with anything. Only pros: clean, location, and the staff who did talk English they were nice. It really ruined my experience at playa, I hope you would choose your accommodation better than me.
