406 Saloon/ Big Cat Cafe

I've driven through Darby so many times for other destinations. I finally had time to try something local and was 100% pleased! I only took two not great pics of my mostly finished food (bc it was so good) and the huge fireplace. Love the open ceilings (hence the additional heat lamps inside). The burger was PERFECT for me - I could actually bite it without having to break it apart because it wasn't piled too high... it was perfect. The fries were also perfect, CRISPY and TASTEY!

Thanks to Jason and Catherine and several of the other staff at this great Cafe, I was able to find my friend from 54 years ago in Darby. I had a great time in this Cafe and meeting everyone. The food was delicious. I only hope I can come back again. Meeting and seeing Peggy Sue was a blast!

The waitress, Mandy, was just right. She did a wonderful job and was so pleasant. She made it a nice experience. The food was served in a timely manner, but lacked imagination. It was evident that the products came out of a Costco bag and left me feeling like the prices were even higher than I had originally thought. Way too pricey. Also, it doesn't have to be 180 degrees inside just because its December. 70-75 degrees is plenty adequate. Thx

Super cool bar restaurant in Darby Montana. Rich history every you look in bar. Proud Montanans frequently this bar. Service was great with friendly server and also has a very nice outside area with furniture and cornhole boards

Updated After 3 years of coming here i would suggest the owners look closely at the new menu. Not the same great options they had in the past. Way to generic and they use iceberg lettuce. Hopefully they get some other options. Very few gluten free options.i posted a photo of their old menu. Also the menu prices have gone way up... Past review they opened in 2020...Great place, great location, great local friendly staff. What a Gem... It would be great if they had T-shirts, mugs and hats to buy. The 406 Saloon logo is Great. The Big Cat logo looks like a high school sports team logo. I would suggest the owner designs something different

Cool atmosphere, big menu, lots of patio games! Our server was speedy and attentive! It’s maybe a bit overpriced but I enjoyed my fish and chips and my fiancé liked his burger! The fried pickles are yummy too! Only downside is I’d say it’s pretty overpriced. But I’d come back here.

We’ve been travelling America for two months and this is honestly one of the best meals we’ve had while we’ve been here! The Steak was cooked to perfection and the cheese pizza was delicious! Really cool dining area as well. Service was excellent also. Definitely recommend

There was more than enough food to satisfy our guests, and the selection allowed everyone to find something they loved. We also appreciated the unique huckleberry drinks that were served, adding a special Montana twist to our reception. The staff was attentive and friendly, ensuring that everything ran smoothly throughout the night. Overall, our wedding reception at the 406 exceeded our expectations in every way.
