We have just spent a long weekend with the family and we had an amazing time. Everything was brilliant. It was clean, tastefully done, a well thought out retreat. Lovely walks and peaceful surroundings. All the staff were extremely helpful and gracious.

I visited here yesterday on a Garden Grazing experience. I can't explain enough how peaceful and beautiful this place is. It's not just the sleepy Somerset location, or the exquisitely crafted buildings. It's not slipping into an oasis of a lake for a swim, or even wandering through the wild, yet cleverly planted gardens. It is the people who work here - gentle, passionate, kind and with an overriding sense of doing the right thing for nature and for your wellbeing. And hey, the cake isn't bad too!

The location is very beautiful, including a lake to swim in and lovely historic houses which have been sensitively decorated. For retreats the food provided was really delicious and nutritious. There is no alcohol available/possible on site, you can bring your own but there was a £250 corkage fee for a 2 night stay which seemed unreasonable. What would the charge cover being as we poured our own drinks, served our own food and scraped our own plates? Some of the staff have very particular and unusual viewpoints that guests are confronted with. For example communicating that they are able to cure autism or cancer. People with autism may not want to be cured and if you have recently lost a close family or friend to cancer it is also the kind of unsolicited information that can be most unwelcome. Overall good but some things to consider.

I had a great time here and the people were lovely. It’s very peaceful and relaxing. However, my two stars is because I was disappointed that no one warned me about ticks. They should warn you about ticks at the start of your stay so that you can be cautious and check yourself. I found a tick on my hip only by chance as one of the group members mentioned it. Mine developed into a horrible illness and I’m taking antibiotics to treat it. If I was warned by 42 Acres then this could have been avoided. Please be careful especially those with children that visit. They should also make paths clearer and cut the surrounding grass on the paths to reduce the chance of a tick attaching to you.

What a amazing experience we've just had at 42 Acres. We stayed in Monkshatch, a beautiful 2 bedroom cottage, with amazing views over the countryside. We had a walk around the lake looking for the beavers, even though it was a cold rainy morning it didn't bother us at all. On our last morning we saw 3 deer grazing in the field next to the cottage. We also saw the famous hare and a huge red fox. Wouldn't hesitate recommending 42 Acres to anyone wanting a chill out few days in nature filled countryside. This must have been the most relaxing break we've ever had. Well done everyone, you're all doing a fantastic job.

Spent two nights in one of the wonderful bell tents. Absolutely idyllic weekend away from the world. Came with some very dear family friends and we all had a fantastic time. The children were living their best lives, playing in the tree house, exploring the woods and swimming and paddle boarding on the lake. The walled garden provided inspiration and wonder for children and grown ups alike. We enjoyed cooking outside and sharing family mealtimes in the sunshine (and in the tent when it rained!). Sitting around the campfire toasting marshmallows and chatting was the perfect end to the day's activities. While we didn't see beavers we did see hares, deer, frogs, barn owls and bats. Thank you 42 acres for another truly magnificent weekend. We will return!

Phenomenal experience. Location: beautiful. And very cost for being quite large. Even with a full house, I felt I had more than enough space for myself Food: oh. My. Goodness. Everything since thing was phenomenal. I think I left heavier after my yoga retreat even though the food was uber healthy. Couldn't stop eating it! Staff: everyone was beyond friendly. Cost: will cost you a pretty pence or two but it was worth it.

What a fabulous place! My wife and I treated ourselves and booked the Frieda suite; what a delightful experience that was! The most spacious room in an incredibly warm, cozy and amazingly furnished house. Wished we could stay there forever! Love it
