We went here for our 15th anniversary, and it was amazing. The service was excellent, and the food was exceptional. We went with the "Yes Chef", the chef's choice on the menu. It's multiple courses, tasting size dishes from the menu. It's great if you can't decide what to order as well as if you want to try multiple dishes on the menu. Every dish served is a surprise and adds to your dining experience. It's seems pricey considering not knowing what will be served, but in the end, it was totally worth it. We had 2 cocktails each, and they were also quite tasty. Make sure you are hungry showing up, as you certainly will be stuffed leaving. I would definitely recommend it ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️! Make sure you book a table in advance.

This place was incredible! I came with my partner for our 5 year anniversary and it exceeded any expectations I had! I have numerous food sensitivities in addition to being a very picky eater so we dont go out for dinner often. I was anxious when we made the reservation. However, it was incredible going with the chefs plate and not knowing what was coming out! Our server did an incredible job ensuring we enjoyed each dish that came out and even brought out an alternative when we just didn't enjoy one of the dishes. She took her time explaining what each dish was with ingredients and the best way to also eat it! I'm not a fan of olives or mushrooms but I enjoyed every bite, including the edible gold! We were so full before the main dish even came out, so we got our dessert to go! Definitely come on an empty stomach, or plan to share with more then 2 people!

I came across this place while randomly searching for vegan restaurants in Canmore. I looked through the menu online prior to making a reservation. Although not a vegan restaurant, the menu had lots of vegan options to choose from! We ate here last night, and honestly, it didn't disappoint. The food was absolutely delicious and some of the best vegan food I've eaten. Hats off to the chefs who prepared our dinner! It's not easy finding really good vegan food! The crab rolls were my favorite! Additionally, our server was knowledgeable, super friendly, and very attentive. We really enjoyed eating here, and we will definitely be back.

This was an amazing culinary experience which we stumbled upon walking in a back alley. Fresh, high-quality ingredients and unique dishes & flavors, this restaurant deserves all the praise it gets. They have a menu of variety and are very inclusive of dietary restrictions. They have stunning and delicious cocktails that I have never seen before. Good service, very accommodating, 10/10 would come back again.

We had an incredible dining experience at 4296 in Canmore! We opted for the chef’s tasting menu for two, specifically the vegetarian option, and we were blown away by the variety and quality of the dishes. We were served 7-8 different items, and every single one was delicious, perfectly crafted, and full of flavor. Matthew, our mixologist, went above and beyond to make my birthday celebration special. His attention to detail and hospitality truly elevated the evening. We were so full by the end of the meal that we had to take our dessert to go! If you're in the area and looking for amazing vegetarian or vegan food, I highly recommend 4296. The portions are generous, the atmosphere is fantastic, and the service is top-notch. Can’t wait to go back!

4296 Was such an incredible experience!! I’ve been wanting to go here for about a year now, and it absolutely lived up to my expectations. Our server, Leah, was absolutely incredible. She explained the menu to us in detail, answered all our questions, and helped us make sure we ordered enough dishes so we didn’t leave hungry, but weren’t so full we couldn’t finish our food! She made the experience absolutely amazing. Everything we ate was incredible. It was so nice to be able to go to a nice restaurant and have so many amazing options while not eating meat. Our favourites were the hand ‘crab’ rolls, which are an absolute must. My partners favourite dish was the Szechuan ‘beef’ spring rolls, which is impressive given he eats meat! The ambience was also amazing. It felt fancy, clean, and elevated. But still casual enough where we could relax and have a good time. I’m already so excited to come back here the next time we come to Canmore. Easily some of the best food I’ve ever eaten!

I have had many tasting menus and this one wins hands down! The pear and foot de latte immersed in a peach immersion and desserts of mocha or fresh iced mango dessert with gold foil. Just altogether exquisite. Highly highly recommend

One of the best places I visited while in Canmore, if not the best! Super small hole in the wall but was amazing nonetheless! I wanted to visit their speakeasy and the hostess makes you answer a riddle before she escorts you back. Was so much fun. Once inside the speakeasy, the atmosphere is so cute and cozy! It’s not very big at all so if others are there, you have no choice but to make friends and be social! If you go, please allow the mixologist to “do his thing”! He was phenomenal! He made specialty cocktails that you would not have ever expected to order and they were all extremely delicious! The food… *chefs kiss*! No complaints with this place! I would easily return!

What an unexpected surprise 4296 was. Just the pure thought in taking the time to put together a progressive, 10 course vegetarian tasting menu that was so creative and so far from the standard "cauliflower steak" was pure brilliance. We didn't have one dish that we didn't absolutely love. Our waitress was great, she was knowledgeable and knew about every dish as well as what the ingredients were. The restaurant itself was trendy, but very low key. Would definitely go back!

This was a really cool restaurant, a friend recommended it. Very small and intimate. The server was engaging and helpful with explaining the menu as we were very confused. We tried a variety of different things, it was good.

I've been back in the states for a few weeks and I'm still thinking of my dining experience. While on a girls trip, we came in and sat at the bar for the vegan tasting menu. Immediately we were met with warm welcomes, an incredible ambiance, and smells of delicious food. The service was impeccable, but not in a snooty, rigid way, it was relaxed, and personable with dishes showcasing the chefs skills and local ingredients. As someone who works in the Industry and has eaten all over the world, 4296 is easily one of the best meals I've ever eaten. We were beside ourselves by the end of the meal haha! I will dream of this place for years to come, and I hope to be back to eat 50 crab rolls and a dozen cornbreads.

This was by far our favorite restaurant during our visit to Canmore/Banff/Calgary. Hats off to the chef! We ate here 2 nights in a row and stuffed our faces until it hurt. Eggs, peach dish, ceviche, shrimp, and desserts exceeded our expectations. Price is on the high end but it was worth the splurge. The music was great too, oldies but goodies for the 40+ folks.

Everything about this place is amazing. The food was so tasty and unique. The service was outstanding the place is small, quaint and romantic. Be sure to reserve a table. They also have a speakeasy which requires a separate reservation. Instructions are on the website.

Got the tasting menu ($128 CAN) which was overall quite good, and came with 8 dishes. Some standouts were the crispy egg with caviar and the steak dish, which was so tender and perfectly cooked. The steak tartare was also very good and got a lot of the flavors down. Overall though I felt like the portion sizes were too large (we were both overstuffed by the end) and some of the dishes were on the heavy side. It felt like there was a lot of salt, sauce, and oil - for example, in the pork belly in char siu sauce and in the bread dish with burrata and peaches. I get that some oil is needed, but it felt pretty heavy at times. There was also some strong spiciness in some of the dishes. Service quality also dropped off at the end and we waited a while for our last two courses to come out, mainly because our server was spending a lot of time chatting with the people at the table next to us, to the point where the bartender had to go in to get some of the food. Next time would recommend the a la carte instead of the tasting menu for better portion control.

Vegan pre fix is absolutely out of this world. Everything was well thought out, delicious and fun. It was also sooo much food! Which was nice considering sometimes you pay hundreds of dollars for a fancy meal and leave hungry. We actually had to ask our server to get the last few courses to go because we just couldn't eat anymore. The vegan caviar was amazing.

Beautiful quaint little speakeasy bar. Everything is lit up purple. There is seating at the bar and along the wall behind the bar. There is a couch set with seating and that's it. I'd say about 15 people and it would be crowded. The menu is very eclectic and for foodies. We decided to share everything. You are to order everything at once and they decide how it is going to come out. We ordered like 5 dishes among the 4 of us. I didn't think it was enough food esp since I didn't like everything that was ordered. But I ended up being ok. They are small plates. So we got like 3ish bites of everything. The eggrolls made your mouth numb from the Asian pepper which I didn't like. Everything has lots of flavor. The peach desert was my favorite as was everyone else's I believe. The fries were pretty good. Presentation was very nice of everything. Very intimate setting.

This is an amazing find nestled in the heart of Canmore. The layering of flavors in each dish was exquisite. Hard to imagine you could go wrong with anything in the menu. If you arrive with a large appetite we would recommend the chef's tasting menu! Many interesting cocktails available to complete your experience!

I haven't have so much fun during a meal ever! I did the vegetarian tasting menu and every dish was a delightful experience! Drinks are unique, yummy, and the presentation was a 12/10! Would definitely recommend if you're looking for a unique dinning experience. I was soooooooo full at the end so make sure to pace yourself. 100% recommend the hot honey chick'n and the peach burrata if you're just going for a meal! Enjoy!

4296 is the elevation level of this restaurant in Canmore and boy does it delivers culinary elevation in each of their dishes! I would easily repeat all of these on the next visit: 1) Caramel and chocolate verraine -chocolate mousse & ganache dessert 2) Spicy tuna tataki with yuzu pearls! 3) Candied pork belly 4) Hokkaido scallops

Staying in Canmore for a week of hiking over in Banff, I was not expecting to have such a memorable and delicious meal at 4296! We opted for the vegan tasting, which was clever, surprising, and, notable for a tasting, filling! There were 9-ish courses including: - vegan amusebouche with vegan caviar atop a rice cracker - sesame cucumber radish salad - vegan crab hand rolls with a tamari glaze - chips with vegan aioli, caviar, vegan egg, and vegan butter - fried maitake mushrooms with pickles and aioli - rainbow vegan poke with vegan tuna and vegan salmon - fried chick'n tenders with macadamia nuts and pineapple - a handroll and mac salad combo - a raspberry chocolate shelled mousse with matcha and mint Favorites were the fried maitake mushrooms, the poke, the chicken tenders and the raspberry dessert! I appreciated the wide range of flavors, the way the chef was playing with textures and pops of spices, and the dazzling array of colors. Service was incredible, everything came out fast and fresh. Loved it, would recommend!

Cute and hip little spot with friendly servers. We really appreciated the creativities and thoughts put into these dishes and drinks. They're definitely somewhat unique for a small town like Canmore but most flavors just weren't it for us. From the ingredients of the drinks to the food, they were very extravagant (lots of truffles) though the final products looked better than they tasted. Still, the table's favorite was the Chateaubriand (steak!) followed by the spring rolls. The steak was beautifully cooked and being immersed in brown butter was a great idea. We (4) went with the $115 chef choice and maybe we should have done a la cart instead. DESSERTS? The two desserts served might have brought this review to a 2 stars but let's be nice. Again, extravagant looking yet we couldn't taken more than 2 bites.

I'm so excited to have stumbled upon 4296 for our last meal in Canmore/Banff! Our trip ended on such a high note. My party of 3 didn't have a reservation, but we went early and they were able to seat us in patio/outside area. The dishes here are meant for sharing, so my party ordered a few items including: 1) Crispy Egg - Absolutely enjoyed this more than I was expecting. The nice crispy exterior paired with the unique aioli was a great starting dish. 2) Prawn Tempura - I usually don't care for Prawn Tempura in general, but this would be an exception. The jumbo prawns were so juicy. More importantly, they made the batter just right and didn't overcoat the shrimp. The shrimp was still the star of the show! 3) Rainbow "Poke" - I was a little skeptical because this dish was vegetarian, so there's no real fish. However, this was one of my favorite dishes. They say you eat with your eyes and this was an absolutely beautiful dish! The "ahi tuna" and "salmon" looked so real, but was made of seaweed! When paired with all the other components (edamame, cucumber, mango, passion fruit gel, rice, shogun sauce), you are really reminded of a traditional poke. If it's on the menu next time, I'm definitely ordering this again! 4) Beef Tartare - this was a very unique take on a deconstructed hamburger that I wasn't expecting. The flavors are definitely reminiscent of hamburger and the beef tartare was fresh. Solid dish! The outside patio didn't have too much decor, but the interior felt comfortable. I would definitely recommend a reservation early if you want to have a table inside. As mentioned, this was one of my favorite meals of my short vacation! I'll definitely want to come here again! Fun fact - the restaurant is named 4296 because that's the elevation is Canmore in feet.

This tucked away gem is magnificent. It's small, and I would recommend a reservation. The service was fantastic, and the food was incredible! I'm very picky with quality and flavors and this did not disappoint whatsoever. The drinks were also fantastic. We had the chefs choice which was A LOT of food but good if you're hungry. The cucumber/ radish salad, shrimp, crab rolls, and the chateaubriand were out of this world! I don't eat gluten and I minimize dairy and they accommodated flawlessly. Many of the dishes have Asian influences and are very eclectic. Highly recommend!

Fantastic meal. We ate in the Deja Vu area. Drinks were great, Harry is a very capable bartender. We took Harry's recommendation of the tasting menu and every single bite was delicious. The tasting menu was a lot of food...we thought we were done and then the burrata arrived and that was followed by a giant bone-in Ribeye...and 2 amazing desserts.

A must visit if you are in the Banff area. The ambiance is good, the vibes great....but the food is the hero..hands down. Everything we ordered was just so good. And all the servers take such pride in telling about the food they serve. Cherry on top - the fabulous cocktails. Thank you team 4296 for a hard to forget meal. PS: what we would order over and over :the beef spring rolls, the haloumi and pineapple dish and the strawberry cheesecake dessert.

Our last dinner in Banff area and this was the best hands down. Drinks in Rendezvous bar were fantastic! Dinner even better. We had the scallop, beef tartare, smashed cucumber and radish salad, chateau briand, caesar wedge, peach barata, fried halloumi with pineapple. Everything was great and servers were very knowledgeable, helpful and friendly. Deserts equally amazing. A great experience and value! Highly recommend!!

Remarkably creative, diverse and delicious menu. The food is rich, but is a real treat. We were very impressed and definitely want to return.

I turn 40 tomorrow and I can say without hesitation that this was one of the best dining experiences of my entire life. We sat at Bar Deja Vu, a speakeasy bar with an amazing ambiance. William, our bartender, was a genius. Him and a coworker created the entire list of drinks from scratch. Watching him work was like watching Picasso paint. Then came the food. From there, our experience somehow got even better. We ordered several small plates and each dish was better than the last. My wife and I boyh loved how we could tell that each dish was specifically created for a purpose. There was no generic options on the menu. Even the "garlic bread" is not a typical version! I couldn't tell you most of the ingredients of what I ate, but everything was amazing. I'm mad that I did all this research on places to eat in Canmore and none mentioned 4296 or the Bar Deja Vu, so I'm changing that now! We still have a week left in Banff/Canmore and are sad to say that all other meals are downhill from here. This was an amazing meal and an amazing experience. 5 stars is not enough!

The food at 4296 was amazing! We got the crispy eggs, Filipino surf and turf, beef tartare, Maitaki mushrooms. All of the dishes were a hit! We finished the meal with Hazelnut + Chocolate Verrine, which was delightful as well. All in all, presentation across the board was phenomenal, taste was inspired. I recommend this to Canmore visitors who want to premium dining experience.

We made a reservation for five pm. At no point did the person who made the reservation say we would have two hours to dine. As soon as we sat down the server informed us we would have to leave in two hours, which we agreed to. However, EVERY TIME the server returned to the table he reminded us that we would have to leave soon. As the style of the restaurant is small serving plates served as they come out we were perpetually and constantly reminded that we would have to leave. It was unbelievably rude. We have no idea how the food or drinks were. All we know is that two hours, and counting, to eat. Will absolutely not return. Worst service I've ever had

In our travels we happened upon 4296 thanks to Yelp. We're a couple of hip septuagenarians open to new experiences and this was one of them. Largely a vegetarian/vegan menu, this one was over the top excellent. Our waiter recommended two dishes per diner and we exceeded this by one. It was one too many. Bring your smartphone to read open the menu and order. So cool! Service was attentive and helpful. Outdoor dining on a pedestrian cul-de-sac was perfect on a warm summer evening. We loved this place and tell our friends to plan for a meal here when in Canmore.

I came in with very high hopes of this place as it came much recommended by my sister-in-law so I was really looking forward to it. It's a small restaurant, so reservations are important. The menu is family-style (sharing) and it's a mostly plant-forward menu with a few seafood/meat options. I got violet hour for a drink which was light and refreshing and had lots of yuzu which I loved. My boyfriend got the coffee cocktail, can't remember the name, but he felt it was pretty bland and just tasted like cold coffee, wasn't a fan. We were told that 3-4 dishes (one/two small, one medium, one large) would be a good size for the two of us and to pick 4 if we're extra hungry. We decided to get the garlic bread, hand 'crab' rolls, thai tuna tataki and wagyu steak and frites. The garlic bread was delicious and was made with Le fournil baguette (if you know you know), they didn't skimp out on the garlic butter and was loaded with shredded parmesan on top which made it even better. The 'crab' rolls where phenomenal!! It was made with shredded hearts of palm and you truly could not tell the difference. I would say it was my favourite bite of the evening, highly recommend it. The tuna tataki was also quite tasty! I felt the passionfruit was a bit overpowering but it was still good nonetheless. For the large plate, we got the wagyu steak and frites and decided to be extra and get the added on the truffle service and the jumbo prawns because we were celebrating that evening. We both had high hopes for the steak, but unfortunately we both felt it fell a little flat. It was cooked well, but it wasn't really anything mind-blowing. Even though the server shredded a lot of truffle on, it was pretty subtle as well and we barely tasted it. It was a bit of a waste to be honest which is a shame. The miso/peppercorn sauce it came with was very subtle and to be honest, didn't taste like much. It came with a lot of frites and they were okay, I was hoping they would be a little more crispy though. The service we had was great and our server was polite and attentive. Final thoughts was the plant/vegetarian dishes were knocked out of the park so I would probably lean more towards those dishes next time I come back.

Amazing food for those of us who are "foodies". Get the eggs! You won't regret it! The patio seating is great.

this was the best meal we've ever had. we dine around the world and truly left full, happy and mesmerized! the lobster noodles and the halloumi pineapple plate are truly lifechangers. we loved it so much we ordered it again the same night... (did i mention we're full!?) this place is so fair priced for the portions and quality. couldn't be more obsessed with it and recommend everyone within a few hours driving distance visiting or local gives it a try!

Canadians don't seem to yelp much but I was fortunate to find out about the speakeasy out back called dejavu and was able to snag a few seats when in town. Great stuff and I LOVE the big mirror. Stunning layout of the establishment. Canmore is a short oasis away from Banff. Cute little shop in a cute little town. Great drinks and great service!

We sat at the speakeasy. Bartenders were nice but don't follow up. Every drink I had was a $20 variation on Robitussin with some alcohol. Asked for the second drink to be less sweet, no dice. Pork bites and Huli chicken were good. Poke said it had tuna and salmon, it arrived with half of those ingredients. Hard pass on this one.

The food was really different and very good. We got the Thai snacks, cheese bread and broccoli. Our waitress was friendly. This was the best place we ate in Canmore.

This is my favourite restaurant ever! My husband and I got the Chefs Choice option on our anniversary and everything we ate was quite honestly the favourite thing I've ever eaten. Each dish surpassed the last! We came back with friends and Deja Vu, everything was as delicious as I remembered. I can't recommend Chef Blake and his incredible menu and culinary skills enough! The cocktails expertly created by Matt and William are out of this world! I think Naked and Famous is my favourite Everything considered this place is HANDS DOWN the best restaurant in Canmore and arguably the best restaurant in Alberta and far beyond. 5 stars no question

Delicious. Crab hand rolls are the best, so is the peach burrata. Mango dessert is amazing. Get the chef's tasting menu, it's worth it and you get to try everything. They were really lovely, and adjusted the meal to our tastes. Really high quality food for the price.

I had really high hopes for this restaurant but I was quite disappointed with the lack of service and time management. The food took forever to come out as they only have one or two staff in the kitchen. The bill also took more than 20 minutes to arrive when the restaurant itself is quite small. Some of the dishes were quite good and very unique so I give credit for that. The drinks were okay, not great. However I would not recommend the paella, it was extremely salty. The wagyu is not up to par either and not worth the price. I would only recommend ordering the crispy eggs and the cheese peach dish in my photos.

This is a 4 Diamond distinction restaurant and I don't say that lightly. My wife and I ate at the 2nd best rated restaurant in Canada which was great but I still believe 4296 was a better meal. If you are in Canmore book this restaurant. It's a small establishment so seating is limited.

The ambiance of a Lisa Vanderpump Restaurant based in Los Angeles, CA only it's in Canmore, AB! The only difference is the food and drinks are INCREDIBLE and something only Lisa can aspire to have. Definitely recommend checking out this posh, cozy hidden gem. Chef Blake Flann and staff create a stunning experience and I look forward to future dining experiences.

Phenomenal dinning experience!! The service was friendly and attentive (whens the last time you got a hot towel at dinner??), the drinks were delicious (they also have a speakeasy in the back), the food was absolutely delicious!!! I brought my parents who don't think a vegan meal could ever be a meal, and even they were wowed by the tastes and presentation. My dad was still raving about it days later. I can't wait to come back next time we're in Canmore. Delish!!

Run, don't walk, to this amazing gem in Canmore! The food was absolutely incredible. My boyfriend and I wanted to do a fancier meal while in Alberta, and we chose this place based on others' reviews. We ordered 4 dishes (Halloumi, crab rolls, a beef dish and the KFC SAAM) and each one was more delicious than the next. Halfway through the meal I said "wow, this is my new favourite restaurant". Honestly guys, the flavours are insane, you will be so happy. We will 100% be going back the next time we are in Canmore. Absolutely incredible!

Stopped in for drinks. Sat at the bar and had a great conversation with the bar tender. Tried several of their drinks which were delicious. Also had some of the Thai snack mix which was delicious. Will come back for dinner next time we are in Canmore
