I had a very pleasant experience at this bar & grill in downtown Columbus. I had street parked earlier (3 hours free) and so I didn't really check to see if the business had it's own lot. What I focused in on was the covered patio on the front of the place. It only had 7 tables, so I considered myself lucky to be able to grab one since the hostess told me that I could seat myself.
I started off with one of the beers on draft. They have two sizes available and appeared to introduce new options periodically. I went with their latest addition, a Quaff On Strawberry Blonde Ale. Yum!
They do have daily specials, but I decided to go with one of the house burgers: An avocado Swiss Burger. I missed the note that said it came with fries (I ended up taking those home), so I thought I would try the potato skins.
The skins came out first as a small plate option. The skins were a nice size, but not large like an Idaho baker. They did come with a bacon topping and green onions with the sour cream cup in the center. I got 5 skins with the order and thought they were pretty tasty.
The burger was cooked to my specs and came with pickle and white onion on the side. The avocado was a large serving, about half of a fruit. It was sliced, but not separated, so it made a large lump that wasn't conducive for distributing the onion and pickles. If you have ever had avocado on a sandwich, they get kind of slippery and messy. Still, I was able to separate the pieces and arrange the sandwich to a more uniform covering. After that, I will say that the sandwich tasted really good. I didn't need to add any seasoning or condiments. The burger itself (I would guess it was close to a half pound, but maybe a little less) was seasoned well and had a very nice flavor.
The hostess/waitress checked in periodically and seemed pleasant enough, making light conversation when she found out I was from out of town. She did a good job on her duties as well as inviting me to return.
Overall, I would definitely recommend stopping in if you are looking for traditional American favorites for your meal.
