The atmosphere wasn't bad, happened to be Trivia night. I was not to excited with the Buffalo Chicken wrap. The sauce was great but about half was through I was eating just sauce and lettuce. The fries were not the best either. My coworkers had the same sentiments about the fries but said the fish sandwich and the BBQ flatbread were good.

Google
Place definitely needs a deep clean and some upgrading. Aside from aesthetics, the chicken wings were delicious, sauces pretty generic unfortunately. Fried pickles were a bit too mushy for me. Depending on the bartender that day, the drinks will be hit or miss. The staff have all been super pleasant, but the service with the staff is hit or miss as well.

This place was amazing! Great food and fairly priced. I had Mahi tacos, and they were perfect. The homemade peanut butter pie for dessert was soooo good! We had a group of 5, and everyone was very pleased with their food choices. The service was great and all the staff was friendly. I sensed a real team effort from the staff and management.

Google
Great little place to hang out and eat good food. We visited during trivia night and had a lot of fun, even for first place. The staff was attentive and the food came out quickly. The drinks were ok, could be better. Nice and clean and plenty of tables for large groups.

Google
Awesome food! Especially enjoyed the pretzels and Cobb salad. Service was slow because it was a busy trivia Wednesday night, but it was still friendly service. The salmon salad was awesome and so saw the coconut chicken (even grilled)!

4th Street Bar & Grill—it’s more than a bar, more than a restaurant. It’s more than a place to see live music on a Friday night. More than a place to meet with friends for weekly trivia. 4th Street Bar & Grill is what every neighborhood bar should be, hopes to be, dreams to be. Any restaurant or bar can have good food, cold drinks, and give you a reason to grab lunch during work or meet up with family and friends for dinner. What sets 4th street apart is its staff. Don’t get me wrong, people will drive for miles to eat the amazingly fresh, off-the-grill food, served just the way they ordered it. But these are some of the most dedicated, hardworking, and friendly people in the industry. They’ll learn your name, your favorite drink, how you like your burger cooked or what side you prefer to substitute. 4th Street is a place where the owners will drop by to check on things and end up bringing your food to your table so that your server can take a break. And it’s a rare occasion where someone leaves without the bartender or staff wishing them a good afternoon or evening and thanking them for stopping in. Who is 4th Street for? Everyone. Well, everyone of legal age. It doesn’t matter if you’re a young professional in town to catch up with friends over a drink and meal or celebrating your 90th birthday, 4th Street hosts all, and all enjoy the friendly atmosphere and environment equally. Truly a gem, nestled in downtown Columbus—it’s the type of place every town deserves but very few actually have. So, looking for somewhere to grab a quick bite, or spend all evening catching up with friends, family or coworkers? This is the place. Want to sit at the bar rail? You’re bound to leave having met a new friend or rubbing elbows with an old one.

Google
We visit often and always walk out happy. Great service. Good setup. Great drinks and food choices. Good crowd and amazing live music (look up for schedule). The seasonal cocktail Fall Sangria we ordered was too watery and cinnamon-y. But they agreed to replace it.

Google
We chose this place to eat because it was the only place open on Eclipse Day! I ordered a Classic Rueben sandwich with seasoned fries. I would give it a great rating except that it was lacking meat, where’s the corned beef?, the fries were overcooked! My partner had Ancient Grain bowl with grilled salmon, the salmon was small, dry and tasteless, with it came quinoa, rice, and roasted vegetables!

Yelp
Good food. We attended on Trivia night Thumbs up all the way. Service excellent on a really busy night.

Yelp
I've liked all the food I've ever gotten here! They do weekly and daily specials as . drink menu is good with a wide variety. Staff is rather skilled and can make plenty of drinks. Servers are nice and have complemented me or my wife just about every time we go! Going at lunch will provide a more professional atmosphere where you can focus on your food... but if you go in the evening, there's always events that keep the crowd entertained. We love this place!

Yelp
Love the food!! The service was excellent and didn't ever wait for anything. The menu had a huge selection and if you cannot find something...you're not hungry...lol. I ordered the 4th st. burger and it was delicious and cooked to perfection. Wife ordered the tenderloin and it was in the top #5 of Indiana tenderloins she has ever had. Parking right off the street or just 1/2 a block away a parking lot that is free after 5pm. If you're in the Columbus downtown area, this is a great place to have a bite and booze to enjoy the good weather days.

Yelp
The menu is expansive for food and drinks. My coworker and I visited for dinner on a weeknight, and it was a great spot to catch up. We enjoyed the burnt orange old fashioned as well as Woodford Double Oaked. For my meal I chose fish and chips. Not bad, but not a standout either. The pieces of fish were long and thin, and I prefer crispier, thicker fish. I didn't eat it with the provided bread and think the flavor would've gotten lost if I had. Service was friendly and helpful in suggesting dinner selections; however, it was also extremely slow. We weren't on a schedule tonight but if you are, you might be mindful of when to flag down your person to order or for the check. 4th Street feels like a more upscale but local, divey restaurant and bar. Casual environment overall. Parking available on the street in downtown Columbus.

Yelp
I love their tenderloin sandwich. Instead of the fries, I normally get the mixed vegetables.
google avatar

Yelp
We really enjoy their fish and salads here. The patio is nice in the warmer months. Though it is a little bit noisy.

Yelp
Great food and service! Kristen was a great server. Dessert made by the owner and brought our beers. Been here a few times. Never disappointed!

Yelp
I was in Columbus for work and was told that 4th street was one of the best places in town. I stopped in and although I wasn't impressed, I will say they make some good food. The exterior sends out a different vibe then the interior. When I walked up, there were people sitting outside and enjoying themselves. Seemed like a nice relaxing atmosphere. However when I went inside, the feeling in the place was just off. They were nice I guess, but there was a thread of sarcasm in their personalities. It hard to explain but I wasn't completely comfortable. The interior felt more like a dive bar, while the exterior had more of a pulse. Let's call it a dead man walking. But enough of that let's talk food. I got the pickle fries to start. They were excellent. Fried well and the pickles still had the snap that you would be looking for. They came with a little sauce on the side which complimented the pickles well. I also had the 4th street burger for an entree. That was delicious as well. The burger was cooked perfectly and the flavors were all there. To be honest, that is a burger to hang your hat on. So bravo to the cook. All in all 4th street makes good food and is worth checking out. Maybe everyone was having a off day so I won't say it's nothing worth it. Just don't expect much in the service department. Get in, get some good food, and get the steppin.

Yelp
Love the food they have. One of the better burgers in Columbus for sure. The BPT isn't too bad.

Yelp
After seeing a 4 star review on Yelp, we decided to eat there. After dining, I cannot believe that the reviews on Yelp are legitimate. FYI, I have a background in food service, busing, waiting, and bar-tending, and management, I am not a novice. The "Tornado Potato" was just a spiral cut potato, fried, topped with tomato, Bacon, and cheese, and served at room temperature on a plastic plate. Three entrees were also served on cold plastic plates. All of these need seasoning and warm (170 F) plates to preserve the heat and taste of the food. Prices are too high considering the quality and temperature of the food. Fast food restaurants serve food hotter than this....there is no excuse. Perhaps all the other reviewers were drinking more and therefore perceived the food as better than average - it is not.

Yelp
The 4th Street Bar & Grill is exactly what you would expect from a popular well established small town bar. Located in downtown Columbus, 4th Street Bar was packed with locals and out of towners. Our party consisted of folks from Brownstown, Shelbyville, and Martinsville. The service was outstanding with our server quick, knowledgeable and the kind of friendly you would expect in a small town bar. We found out why the place was so busy! The food is great! Now, it's nothing fancy nor anything you haven't heard of, but the taste of a common burger, wrap, salmon brought smiles to our faces. Entertainment started at 7:00pm and wasn't overwhelmingly loud. A great place to meet with friends, enjoy cocktails, have a great meal and be able to visit for hours. I recommend you try it while in Columbus, or use it as a destination midway for friends in other communities.

Yelp
Lovely being for eating outside. Service was excellent, friendly, and accommodating. Food was very good. Loved the Reuben.

Yelp
Great place to hang out and get great food and drinks. Food has been amazing each time! Staff are friendly and tentative to your needs. Great atmosphere!

Yelp
We went here Halloween weekend. They were super busy so service was a little slow. Our food was cold. That's why the 4 stars. We had a good time and would try it again.

Yelp
This used to be a great place to eat. I've been eating here for 15+ years and the past 2 years, 4th street quality of food is just atrocious. The owners are great people but I guess they can't keep anyone decent in the kitchen. Had the Ruben and fries tonight and they were just awful. I ordered ranch for my fries and even, somehow, the ranch was bad? My advice, as someone who has been coming here for 15 years, eat some place else and go for beers after you eat decent food.

Yelp
Really great food, fun people in a classic bar setting. Good place to watch sports. Heated indoor and outdoor dining. I highly suggest the buffalo chicken.

Yelp
Excellent food. Daughter loves the food but is underage =takeout. Nice atmosphere. Good selection of beer.

Yelp
Standard Local Bar with GREAT FOOD. Location is convenient and is nicely situated on its own pocket of 4th street. Prices are reasonable for food and drinks, full bar, food menu is awesome. Tenderloin is very well executed, fish tacos are AWESOME. Be patient, this place gets crowded and the service can be slow / they seem short staffed, especially on trivia nights or whenever it's nice out Pro-Tip: Off hours, this place is a great lunch option!

Jed D.

Yelp
One of the older bars in town - Guinness on tap w/ great bar grub. They often have live music on weekends, & the layout is such that you can go to the back & do that, or sit up front & still be able to hear the music, but also be able to talk w/ your companion(s). I like that. The 4th & Washington area is bar-hop'able now, don't miss 4th Street!

D M.

Yelp
I was in Columbus visiting family and this restaurant came highly recommend. It took 30 minutes or so to get our food. Then most of it was cold. Sweet potato fries were cold. My Honey Mustard Chicken sandwich had the smallest piece of chicken - thin sliced and bacon. Also cold. Waitress never came back to check on us. Then after eating, it took another 35 minutes to get our check and even then we had to go ask for it.

Yelp
I had a very pleasant experience at this bar & grill in downtown Columbus. I had street parked earlier (3 hours free) and so I didn't really check to see if the business had it's own lot. What I focused in on was the covered patio on the front of the place. It only had 7 tables, so I considered myself lucky to be able to grab one since the hostess told me that I could seat myself. I started off with one of the beers on draft. They have two sizes available and appeared to introduce new options periodically. I went with their latest addition, a Quaff On Strawberry Blonde Ale. Yum! They do have daily specials, but I decided to go with one of the house burgers: An avocado Swiss Burger. I missed the note that said it came with fries (I ended up taking those home), so I thought I would try the potato skins. The skins came out first as a small plate option. The skins were a nice size, but not large like an Idaho baker. They did come with a bacon topping and green onions with the sour cream cup in the center. I got 5 skins with the order and thought they were pretty tasty. The burger was cooked to my specs and came with pickle and white onion on the side. The avocado was a large serving, about half of a fruit. It was sliced, but not separated, so it made a large lump that wasn't conducive for distributing the onion and pickles. If you have ever had avocado on a sandwich, they get kind of slippery and messy. Still, I was able to separate the pieces and arrange the sandwich to a more uniform covering. After that, I will say that the sandwich tasted really good. I didn't need to add any seasoning or condiments. The burger itself (I would guess it was close to a half pound, but maybe a little less) was seasoned well and had a very nice flavor. The hostess/waitress checked in periodically and seemed pleasant enough, making light conversation when she found out I was from out of town. She did a good job on her duties as well as inviting me to return. Overall, I would definitely recommend stopping in if you are looking for traditional American favorites for your meal. Review #375

Yelp
The nachos with pork were fabulous. Chips were ultra thin with a light coating of queso cheese. Flavor of pork was awesome. I had the grain bowl and loved it. It got busy while we were there ... consider a reservation.

Yelp
Was planning on a high-end, work dinner out but Tuesday night in Columbus is slim pickings - 4th Street made us feel at home. Special "brunch-burger" hit the spot with that fried egg & bacon. Well stocked bar kept our spirits high! ;)

Yelp
We were in Columbus from out of state and stopped at this local restaurant. Love it! The best fish sandwich I have ever had! Hands down! The donut holes were yummy! My spouse enjoyed their Reuben, too.

Angie H.

Yelp
A hometown bar with super friendly bartenders and wait staff. Food is great and also have a great selection of rotating beers on tap as well as spirits and wine. Always busy but not too crowded. The front section is a bit quieter than the back area and it's a nice quiet place to come and chill.

Yelp
When visiting Columbus, this is a staple place to go for multiple reasons: It's proximity to downtown and the big 4th street sign on the side of the road, constantly reminding you of its existence. It is a great place for grabbing a sandwich or salad in the middle of the day, while also being a good bar to grab a drink and dinner in the evening. I have been here twice, and have enjoyed my food both times, but I don't have vivid memories of what I got. It's surely good, but not very memorable.
google avatar

Jorge M.

Yelp
Excellent service. The menu has variety for all tastes and it's all wonderful. If you like soups they are delicious. Enjoyed the atmosphere.

Yelp
Absolutely my favorite spot in Columbus. The Bacon Blue Burger with fries was my go to lunch favorite for years. It's hard to think of Columbus without thinking of 4th Bar and its awesome service.

Yelp
Please dont mind trying out the place! 1. The chair was limping so we asked to switch one. The waitress completely ignored my request saying you wouldnt die from it. Okay. I get it. Never mind. 2. I had a duck taco($10) and look at the pic what I get. She intentionally put a whole a lot of less duck on my taco. The table next to me got at least 3-4 times more duck. Im not bluffing. So disappointed. I only know it was intentional bc she didnt like me asking to change the chair to begin with and 3 other people with same order all had 3-4 times more then I had. Awful. Plz dont visit.

Yelp
Great location and good food. This is a favorite place to visit while in lovely downtown Columbus.
google avatar

Yelp
This is one of our favorite places. We continue to order takeout due to COVID and we can't wait to dine in again after the pandemic. We have tried many items on the menu and have never been disappointed.
google avatar

Rebecca M.

Yelp
We come here for trivia night fairly often, and I've never ordered something that I didn't like. Most recent favorite was the roast beef sandwich with horseradish mayo and roasted red pepper (Fant remember what it was called on the menu). We've had a few bad experiences with service (be that slow service or rude service), but obviously not enough to keep us from coming back. Pro tip: if you come for trivia night, be sure to call ahead to reserve a table, as it does fill up quickly.

Yelp
This place has gone down hill!!!!! Mahi mahi burnt on one side and tasted rancid, not to mention it was incredibly thin, perhaps old whitefish. Coco loco chicken burnt. Steamed vegetables raw. Trying to have a quiet lunch with my spouse, but employees dropping the f bomb while talking about their love life problems to visiting friends at the bar. Horrible environment, horrible food, avoid at all cost!! We used to enjoy this place, but it was like watching Days of our Lives in Hell's Kitchen minus the good food.
google avatar

Marvin P.

Yelp
Our favorite hang out. Highly recommend this place for a great variety of drinks and excellent food.
google avatar

Kellie M.

Yelp
Very surprised this place has more than a star. Food is decent but both times we were here, the staff just seems to radiate rudeness and misery. I know there are only like two bars in Columbus, but avoid this one.
google avatar

Garrett S.

Yelp
We were looking for a place to grab a few drinks and watch the cardinals game and boy did 4th street deliver. Everybody working was so nice and helpful, the place was clean, and they were super friendly. Would definitely recommend!

LeeAnna S.

Yelp
We ate here because the menu was big and we had a few ppl and wanted to make sure there was something for everyone. I got the southwest chicken flatbread and it was not great. It was COLD when it came out, not room temp - but cold. I was so hungry I picked at it and ate about half of it. Everyone else seemed to enjoy their food. Nice selection of beers. Service wasn't great, brought the check before we could order dessert so we didn't. All in all would not want to go back.

Matthew R.

Yelp
Love this place! Service is consistently stellar and the menu is delicious. Nachos are great, ahi tuna tacos are unreal, flatbreads are great too. I am a local who is a little picky. This is my go-to any time my wife and I have a free night on the town. Sit on the patio if you're not into the live music or trivia. Every town needs a place like 4th Street.
google avatar

Brittany S.

Yelp
Felt like I was stepping in to my hometown of Union City, IN with the uber-local, you're-not-from-around-these-parts look we received by the clintele after walking in the door. However, I didn't mind it one bit - in an odd way, it was charming. Unlike Union City, 4th Street's menu offers a little more to be desired with creative and veggie-friendly options like sweet potato fries with maple syrup bacon dip and Thai vegetarian wraps on the menu. Don't get me wrong, they also have a stash of bar food classics like burgers and fries to choose from as well. Let's talk about those sweet potato fries with sin dip, shall we? I',m not exactly sure how the dip was made - I'd hate to know actually, but if you're a fan of sweet and savory like moi, this is the side or appetizer for you. -bar specials throughout the week -live entertainment on Fridays and (Saturdays, I do believe) -handy phone charging station at each booth (don't mind if I do) -within walking distance to all of the downtown Columbus shops and especially, Architects Avenue/Irwin Inn Hope my next visit includes some live entertainment.
google avatar

Ashley A.

Yelp
Absolutely terrible service. The food was decent, but the server completely neglected us the entire night. He took 15 actual minutes to bring menus and get drink orders and another 10 at the end of the night to run our credit card.
google avatar

Brad S.

Yelp
Literally everything we ate was amazing, had the grain bowl and tornado potatoe (SO GOOD). Easily, best food in Columbus, and on top of that, our server was amazing--if you can, ask for Laura! My glass was never empty, and she was extremely polite.
google avatar

Kevin Z.

Yelp
The best bar that Columbus has to offer if you are looking for that fun atmosphere. The staff is friendly, fantastic and fluid in partying hard.

Renae S.

Yelp
The deep fried cauliflower is outta this world, good! And their breaded tenderloins is arguably the best in town! Great service, hot, fresh food!
google avatar

Nick S.

Yelp
Whether it's a night out with friends or a business lunch, 4th Street always seems to be the right choice. Consistently great food and service. The wraps, fish tacos and burgers always please. They have surprisingly good salads, too. Drinks wise, 4th Street keeps prices reasonable with a variety of mixed drinks and rotating draft beers. On Friday and Saturday, be sure to stop in for the live music.
google avatar

Erica S.

Yelp
Love the food and their Peach Sangria. My favorite is seating outside enjoying the atmosphere!
google avatar

Lisa F.

Yelp
I did not eat but there was a nice selection of draft beer. More of a local dive feel.

Andrea B.

Yelp
Used Yelp to find a restaurant - tried 4th Street Bar, not knowing what to expect. FANTASTIC! Food (powerhouse salad w/salmon [at manager's suggestion] was to die for!!) Great food - great service!! Hubby had tenderloin- delicious!!
google avatar

Mason B.

Yelp
Went here for a few drinks, ended up spending around 100 bucks. Their moonshine drinks are excellent, especially the prohibition moonshine.

Yelp
My mom and I stopped here while we were in Colombus for the night and it did not dissapoint! The food was delicious and reasonably priced. I had the coco loco chicken and substituted the rice it came with for sweet potato fries. The chicken was so sweet and crunchy was perfect for a summer day and the sweet potato fries were perfection. My mom had the sweet chili noodles and added chicken per the waiters recommendation. It had fresh veggies and hearty noodles. We finished off the meal with the homade donuts and they were incredible and the perfect size for two people to share. I also had their perfect peach sangria and it was so delicious I will definitely try to recreate it in the future! Don't hesitate, go here for a great meal!
