I visited this bar to have couple drinks and dinner, but the experience was completely ruined by the bartender’s hostile attitude and what felt like clear racial discrimination. I have rarely felt so unwelcome in a business.
The main issues were:
Intentional Neglect: Even though the bar was not busy (only 9 people total), I was ignored for a long time while the bartender engaged in friendly, social conversations with the groups around me. She looked at me multiple times but chose to leave me sitting at a dirty, uncleaned counter without a word of acknowledgment.
Aggressive and Hostile Body Language: When she finally did acknowledge me, she was incredibly rude. She threw the menu at me and walked away before I could even finish my order. Later, when I asked for a straw, she slammed the straw and napkin tray down in front of me with pure aggression.
Balant Differential Treatment: This was the most hurtful part. I watched her greet other groups who arrived after me with huge smiles and immediate service. It was "two different worlds" she was warm and attentive to everyone else, but cold and dismissive toward me. The facial expressions she made when talking to me versus other customers made her bias very obvious.
Complete Lack of Professionalism: I had to practically beg for basic service, like ordering a drink or getting a straw, while other guests were being taken care of instantly. I was treated really bad.
While the drinks were okay, the service was the worst I’ve seen. Being treated with such aggression and bias is unacceptable. Management needs to look seriously at how their staff treats people of different backgrounds. I will never be back.
