7 things you need to know about yu sheng - SilverKris

"This modern Cantonese restaurant offers a contemporary take on yu sheng featuring Ora King salmon, crispy fried yam and candied nuts; the dish is sold in two sizes (for three to six guests or seven to 10 guests) and can be elevated with optional toppings such as Canadian lobster meat, surf clam or salted egg yolk fish skin for extra umami and crunch." - MICHELE KOH MOROLLO and Vanessa Tai

Tried the $68 per pax yum cha set, and the dishes were exquisite. Highlights included the braised fish soup, black pepper cherry valley duck buns, and crispy fried black cod. Steamed glutinous rice with abalone is served as individual portion. The sweet and sour pork was as expected, while the wok‑fried egg noodles leaned a little on the salty side. Service was impeccable, and the 5 on 25 signature tea is highly recommended as the perfect pairing. With panoramic views of the city skyline, this restaurant is a great choice for celebrating special occasions or treating your loved ones to something special.

my favourite chinese restaurant thats not on any fine dining list, nor do they care to be. located on the 25th floor of the Andaz Hotel, 5 on 25 isnt like your typical chinese restaurant in that it doesnt have a chinese name. interior feels contemporary, and are the minimalist plateware the dishes are plated on. i love the view here and how peaceful this restaurant feels. i visit whenever i need a hit of comfort in a safe space. everyone ive introduced this restaurant to were shocked its not packed to the gills with diners. selfishly i had hoped it’ll stay this way. but i dont wish to gatekeep good food anymore. my favourite comfort staples at 5 on 25: lobster paofan, tea smoked roast duck, HK kailan. this time round i was introduced to the sunday dim sum lunch set.. at $68 per pax. we got a FEAST of 1 soup (per pax), 5 dim sum baskets (for the table), 2 main dishes (for the table), 1 carb (to share) and dessert (per pax). we ordered: chicken soup, abalone glutinous rice in lotus leaf, deep fried lobster rolls, siew mai, black pepper duck buns, mushroom dumplings, sweet sour pork, salt pepper squid, seafood fried rice, and for dessert mango sago. SO SATISFYING and super great value. pay by Kris+ and earn 10 miles per dollar you pay on ur bill. big love to my favouritest server Theresa for always anticipating our needs.

We chose here for a birthday celebration and were very impressed. While the prices are premium but the quality of the food truly matches it. Our guests couldn’t stop praising the delicious dishes and the excellent service. A special thank you to Teresa for her attentiveness and great recommendations, she really made our experience extra special. Good promotion tie with Grab, hope it can be extended.

Great service! loved the food so much and we were really really stuffed. I particularly loved the lobster roll and the roast duck. Nothing too crazy but the taste was very on point for most dishes. But we had the worst seat in the house right next to the kitchen so the aircon kept leaking out and the interruption was like real. So I had to give the atmosphere a 1 star.

Almost perfect experience - came here with godparents and everyone was full of praises. The food was delightful - our favourites are listed below. Beetroot fried rice with prawns was the star of the night; outstanding flavours and texture in every mouth. Tenderloin beef with wasabi was perfectly done, black vinegar fried cod was also fantastic (4 pieces). The signature Cantonese style roasted duck skin was absolutely amazing and even better paired with their perfect home-made popiah skin (texture is chewy, fresh), the only complain was that the the duck meat that came after tasted a bit dry and we wished they had recommended us to cook it with second serving (we weren’t asked). Wife loved the crispy mushroom appetiser. Desserts were exquisite though portions were small. Service was very good too - unfortunately we did not get the name of the gentleman who took our orders; he made really good recommendations. Even though the team was small, tea refills were constant. Loved the ambience of the place - dim, classy Shanghai style with a variety of soft Chinese music in the background really made it comfortable for conversations. Overall, outstanding and would return.

Location was central, nice view as we sat by the window to overview the shop houses & Arab St. The place feels like old shanghai theme, very cosy. I personally recommend the cod fish coated with thick sauce, steam fish was great, 清淡 not too salty just right, beetroot fried rice with wok hey smells wow & there's a crunchy bits which I love it. Actually all their dishes was nicely done. The chef also go around table to table to interact with diners to get feedbacks on dishes that was served. A big thank you to Mr Shawn, Ms Teresa & team for the great dinning experience, although you're short of staff but still giving the full attention to all tables making sure all request & food are up to expectations. I strongly recommend friends & family to drop by!

have been meaning to try out this restaurant for a long time and finally found the perfect opportunity to visit as its restaurant week! could not exercise self control and ordered ala carte the half duck for $49 + $15 for second cooking method - which is really affordable for the quality. i loved the crispy duck skin and it came with an assortment of condiments that paired really well - esp the hawthorne jelly?! never had it before. the flour wrap was also thin and perfectly chewy. the restaurant week menu ($88) was also very good value for money. portions were huge and we had to get the noodles to go (no thanks to the add on order of duck). i especially liked the enoki appetiser which sounded so simple but had so much depth of flavour the desserts were also outstanding - not just 1 but 2 apricot egg tarts and a huge bowl of sesame pudding will definitely be back service is also very good - attentive and friendly without intruding on ur personal space

Tried their latest Weekend Yum Cha experience for only $68 and honestly I think it is worth the price. You get to choose a choice of soup, 5 Dim Sum, 2 Chef’s Recommendation, 1 choice of Vegetables/Rice/Noodles and Dessert!
