5 Swiss Hotel

I stayed at the 5 Swiss Hotel for two weeks and it was great. We were at a walking distance to the university (around 20 minutes walking). My room was spacious and very clean, the balcony very nice. We had dinner there almost every night and the food was great. Definitely recommend it for a longer stay.

Didn’t stay here, but came for dinner which was excellent - Filet Mignon dish is the menu highlight. It was to comparable to the US regards meat quality but was differently prepared. It was a pleasant surprise. Good Rwandan version I figured. Well done. Service was super nice

This was a last minute booking through Booking.com and confirmed just for one night on the way flying home. On arrival, they had no record but they did have spare rooms (low season) fortunately. The service was friendly and the rooms were very clean and comfortable (if a little small). The outside bar and restaurant in the garden was great (particularly for a city centre location) and the food was good. Great location if you want to be close to the centre of Kigali (walking distance). Possibly slightly expensive when compared to others, but this may be the central location. Overall it was a perfectly acceptable stay.

Wonderful location and terrific staff. Cassandra and the other staff did their best to make me comfortable. It was a little expensive and I wish the TV had worked. But I was glad I stayed here and would book this hotel again if I return to Rwanda.

5 Swiss is always a friendly place to be. The rooms are clean and comfortable, the dining and bar area are lovely, breakfast is good, dinner is good and the staff are helpful and friendly. We always stay here in Kigali.|It’s an easy walk to the city centre but a quiet spot.|Airport service is really helpful.

If you are looking for a small, quiet hotel that mixes a more local feel with all the basic comforts you need when away from your own bed, go for this. 5 Swiss has truly the kindest staff I’ve ever met, and I enjoyed (and deeply benefitted from) the long chats with the local staff over breakfasts and dinners. The little restaurant is great - accommodating and delicious. (Breakfasts were not my favorite, but custom-ordering omelettes is the way to go.) The bed was so comfortable, and I was lucky to get a room with a balcony over the garden - what a nice way to wake up, with the sun coming over the hills. There is a small fitness room inside a garden - literally. So cute and fun. This is not a “luxury” hotel, but there was really nothing I needed that I didn’t have. The rooms are clean, simple, and comfy - I arrived at 3am after a 24-hour travel and was immediately ushered in, safe and sound. After a week, I didn’t want to leave, truly, and I hope to be back soon. Yannick, Nadine, Belize, Alex the driver, everyone else - you’re all amazing. Thank you for such a wonderful stay.

Came here first time ten years ago and have returned many times. All facilities are there, the restaurant gets better and better and service staff are very caring. This is a small place with a very good atmosphere. It is excellent for networking whatever business you are in Rwanda for. A central location adds to the benefits of your stay.

In February 2023, my husband and I had our first visit to Rwanda and stayed at 5 Swiss Hotel, the second accommodation during our time in Kigali. The staff was incredibly welcoming and attentive, ensuring all our needs were met. The room was immaculate, and the downstairs bar/breakfast area boasted a beautiful aesthetic. The outdoor area felt pleasantly earthy. The included breakfast was enjoyable. Without a doubt, I would choose 5 Swiss Hotel again for my future stays in Kigali, Rwanda.
