529 Wellington Steakhouse

I visited 529 Steakhouse to meet my friends who love steak. Being vegetarian, I was worried about options, but the restaurant went above and beyond. They prepared tofu with mashed potatoes just for me, and it turned out to be an excellent dish. I really appreciated their effort, especially since vegetarian options are limited. Our server, Andrew, was exceptional. He was attentive, friendly, and went out of his way to ensure my vegetarian meal was prepared perfectly. His service made the experience even better. Overall, I had a fantastic experience despite being a vegetarian at a steakhouse. The food, effort, and service exceeded expectations. Highly recommend if you’re looking for great food and thoughtful service.

Excellent steak restaurant in Winnipeg. Highly recommend. Starters were throwing their punches, well worth the value. Excellent service. I had the beef Wellington and it was amazing. Desserts also good.

We had the pleasure of being invited to a wedding dinner here. The menu shows the selections available for the four course meal. Each dish was elegantly presented, full of flavour and served at a perfect temperature. There were 35 people seated at once, and the staff was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. The service was top notch. I would highly recommend hosting large events at this fabulous restaurant.

There really aren't enough words to describe how incredible my experience at this establishment was. Everyone, from the hostess staff to our incredible waiter Chris, along with the wine connoisseur Michael, were absolutely lovely and very comfortable to interact with. Sitting inside and interacting with everyone made me feel at home. The food - some of which were my first experiences of such unique dishes - was immaculate and very well portioned for how it was priced. I'm still at awe of how amazing my evening was and how it shattered all my expectations. It's an experience that anyone - local or tourist - should experience atleast once.

Amazing experience! Hats off to Vasyl, an extraordinary barman and server - he walked me through their cocktail and wine selections with great flair and expertise, guiding me to some excellent drinks. His thorough and friendly service are exceptional. The dishes were expertly prepared and exquisite - particularly the Beef Wellington. I will definitely return to 529 Wellington!

We've always wanted to try this place, but never got a chance until this Christmas. We had our Christmas party booked, and arrived one by one. I loved that we were greeted promptly and our coats were taken to coat check, very nice. Our table, for 18 people, was set up upstairs in a private room. Coming here I knew that this used to be a family house and later was utilized to house the 529 restaurant. It's old, and squeaky, no musty or moldy smell, which I appreciate. Dark colors all around - carpet, walls, drapes on the windows. And still it has a warm and homey feeling to it, I felt very comfortable here. We had shareable appetizers - giant shrimp, shripm cocktail, dry ribs, garlic bread. Of all the appetizers I only enjoyed the dry ribs, very good. My main was a 10 oz steak. It was okay, I have had better. The sides were again shareable - potatoe gratin was too oily, and didn't have enough spices; mini fried mushrooms were okay, again not enough spices; and sesame fried peas, those were good, I enjoyed the rich salty sesame taste. And then desert! Oh wow! Whatever that was that I had, sort of chocolate cake, it was very, very good - smooth, rich in flavor and had tasty garnish. All in all worth visiting, the service was outstanding, but don't expect too much of the food.

Such a unique dining experience in a beautiful Victorian home. Service was fantastic, food was delicious and so were the cocktails! We ended up staying about 3 hours and devoured our meals only to go and explore the beautiful property afterwards. A MUST when visiting Winnipeg!
