Yelp
Diverse menu, decent service, significant ordering issues, but very responsive management and an over-marketed menu and beer list earn 54th Street a semi-yawnish 3 stars from this foodie.
We came here with a group of five after a really rough memorial service, looking for some good food and lots of drinks to lift the mood. My rule is if a restaurant says "drafthouse" "taproom" or the like in the name, it probably isn't. By that I mean, with all the *amazing* local beers in the area, these chain places that think of themselves as beer destinations fluff their beer menu with snoozers like Coors Light, Miller, Bud, Guiness, etc, leaving little room for memorable beers. I know I'm a beer snob, tho.
Two members of our group had allergies and ordered things sans the allergen producing foods. Both dishes came wrong. Also, my Reuben came with six onion rings that were so small they were dwarfed by the plate. I didn't mind the count so much as the tiny size. We mentioned all the issues to the server and a manager came who was very responsive, fixed the dishes, brought a basket of rings, and offered a gift card with an apology. We were really not horribly put off by the mistakes, an allergy mistake can be serious.
The Reuben was decent for Texas chain food. The onion rings were very good, though not unique. Of the 54 beers available, two interested me: Founders Breakfast Stout and Lakewood Temptress. The rest were generic in my opinion.
Atmosphere was good, not too loud at the booth we sat in. A large bar area with ample bar seating was available. Overall, a positive experience with some mid-level marks for non-original-ness and some mistakes.
