How to Plan a Ski Trip to Beech Mountain

"Perched at the very top of the mountain, this recently remodeled, full-service mountaintop bar is best known for its 360-degree views of the surrounding mountains, which can be enjoyed from the deck or inside the roundhouse; renovations added expanded seating and updated TVs." - Lydia Mansel Lydia Mansel Lydia Mansel is a writer with more than eight years of experience editing and writing for both brands and online publications—with a particular focus on travel, fashion, and lifestyle. Great view. Great bartenders. Their beer selection is good. I do not recommend the margarita. It was probably one of the worst I've had. They put some strange ingredients in it (like sprite) that are totally unnecessary. My friend got some tacos and while I didn't eat them, they smelled amazing. I love this place. Really great spot on a summer afternoon.

The upgraded space is incredible! The yurt was fun but now a permanent building is awesome. Love Beech Mountain Brewing!

The best thing you can do in the summer is go up the ski lift and enjoy the views and have a cocktail.

Bartenders are flying around to serve everyone. Beech mountain brewering Co makes some good beers and the views are dope. Definitely worth spending $20 a person to ride up the mountain.

A fun bar with a great view! The beers on tap were all really good, I favored the porter and my friend liked the brown ale. The only downside was the men's room was out of order so everyone was using the same bathroom.

This review specifically is about the sunset dinner event I attended. It's the first year Beech has offered a sunset "fine dining" experience. They have some kinks to work out but I still 100% recommend. Everything from reservations to food offerings was well planned and seamless. The cost of dinner includes the chairlift ride up and a shuttle back down. Alcohol is additional. During reservations, we could choose between rack of lamb, rabbit or trout for our evening but it changes depending on availability. The rack was delicious, served with mashed potatoes and sautéed green beans. We were greeted with an assortment of heavy appetizers. First course was watermelon salad served with olive oil, fresh mint and feta. We chose tiramisu as dessert. The bar is fully stocked. Service was good after the general crowd was sent back down. Nothing compares to the panoramic views of the majestic Blue Ridge mountains. It's worth the travel and price to see it while dining. Advice: go up early to watch mountain bikers and listen to live music IF you like it crowded and loud. If you prefer a more serene experience, arrive just before they close the chair lifts.

We've been to blowing rock location multiple times and it's 5 star service. This was our 2nd trip here to Banner elk. The service was not great. We had to ask for silverware multiple times after our food arrived as well as condiments for burgers. Just seemed as though service wasn't priority. Maybe a bad batch, but the broccoli salad had a crazy amount of salt? We'll give them another go, it's a cool place, could've just been an off day.

Really cool bar with amazing views. We had the nicest bartender when we were there he shared his chips with our hungry kids but I don't remember his name. I will definitely go back here again despite the winding shuttle ride up. (You could walk up the slope but the members of our party who did do not recommend)
