I like to have the choice to sit indoors or outdoors, drinks were good and averagely priced for the area. I got a glass of wine and felt like the bartender could have given me a LITTLE bit more. Would come again and try the food as I hear it's very good!

Cozy bar in highland park! Was able to get seats at the bar. Drinks were good and bartender was attentive. Good amount of seating inside and outside. It was busy, but not so loud that you can't have a conversation.

Love this place overall! Great outdoor area for hanging out in larger groups. The cocktails are delicious and they have zero proof options. Bartenders are rude though and not sure why they made me feel bad for ordering a mocktail...don't make fun of your customers for choosing a non alcoholic option. That was a first. Still tipped 20% but not sure they deserved it.

A friend and I stopped in at Good Housekeeping on a Wednesday night. We were going to a late night show at the Lodge Room, and chose the place because it was only a 3 minute walk from the venue. I was in my happy place because of the bartender (shout out to West!), the music, the drinks, and the food. The dj was playing soul/funk/70s R&B. Our cocktails were smooth and the food hit the spot!

Great drink menu/options! They serve mezcal which is a favorite of mine, most bars don't have great mezcal options so I was super surprised by the selection and quality. Great ambiance! This is the perfect spot to grab a drink or two and catch up with friends or to kick off the night!

A friend introduced me to this bar last night. So cool! Great drinks, cool ambiance - think low key, kinda hipster. Will definitely be back when I'm in HP.

This place was nice. Lots of attention to detail with their menu drinks. Holy Elote: 4.5/5 a tiny bit smoky with clear ice. Sesame dream: 5/5 sweet! You can get Coke from a glass bottle.

Went to Good Housekeeping bar hopping in the trendy area of Highland Park (on Fig). I would have probably never known of this place which is almost hidden behind cafe birdie, but good thing my friend knew of the location. While not big, the bar is very cozy and the drinks/cocktails tasty. Friendly folks with a cool vibe. Tip: If you are having drinks in the area, also check out Gold Line and the Highland Park Bowl Bar which are very close by.

First off our cocktails were very expensive, which would be fine. But on top of that the service here was terrible. We had a rude interaction with the bartender, so we won't be coming back.

Good Housekeeping is a hidden gem located behind Café Birdie. Enter off the alley on Ave 57 and you'll find this cozy little bar. I enjoy coming here for their creative craft cocktails. Their menu changes seasonally so there is always something new and tasty to try. It's also a great spot for date night, chilling with friends, or just to hang out and meet someone new. They also have a dog friendly patio, which I love. Last month they hosted a Block Party featuring local businesses in the neighborhood. It was an enjoyable way to spend the afternoon and support the community. I hope they do it again.

Special thanks to the you-tuber Christiiine for recommending this spot. I was expecting this spot to be packed with people given some nights they host DJ sets. But to our surprise, it was quiet on a Sunday night. You go in behind cafe birdie and follow the arrow with the word "BAR." The venue is small, yet cozy with leather seats, and the dim lighting and candles gave it an intimate feel. The music wasn't so loud so you can chat over drinks with a friend. The vibe here was wonderful, we didn't feel unsafe or worried. We felt welcome. So you go in, scan the QR code and let the lovely bartender know what you'll have. Drinks: - Endless Summer: this came with vodka, Demerara, passion fruit, lemon and club soda. This was a citrus, sour, fruity drink that i enjoyed and i want another one. - Mover and Shaker: (not pictured) This was so ducking strong. For those who love bourbon and whiskey, you will surely love this one. this has cio ciario, redemption rye whiskey, turbinado sugar and orange. My friend got this one, she said it was a lot stronger than she expected it to be, and honestly you could not taste the orange. I took not even half a sip and it was a ball of fire. So umm we're not getting this one. We chatted for a bit before leaving with a promise to return another day to catch up about life and hang out. This is a nice Low-key spot.

First time at this bar in Highland was more than expected. I love this bar and el arroyo was even better. The food was great, and the vibes were amazing. I will definitely stop by again.

I've come here many times with my husband and friends and always had a great experience. It's been one of my fave cocktail bars in HLP. The drinks are always delicious and the service has typically been good. However, tonight was just not a great time. After our first round (which was tasty), we wanted to order another drink. We waited 20 minutes AFTER finishing our first drinks and still hadn't been checked on or even given any eye contact despite trying to get our bartender's attention. It wasn't even crowded at some points, and he was attending people who just walked in. It almost felt like he was deliberately ignoring us. After waiting all that time without ordering, I had to ask the bartender on the other side of the bar to close out our tab, and he gave me attitude even though I didn't approach him with a negative tone of voice. It just put such a sour taste in our mouths. They really need to train their staff on proper bartending etiquette because it was nonexistent tonight. It's a shame because they make great drinks and the vibes are cool.

Not gonna lie. Good Housekeeping is pure, dimly lit magic. I love how you enter through the alley. Cocktails are extremely inventive. I had a limeless daiquiri made with the acid mix, Supasawa. It was delish. Staff was busy talking to eachother and don't really engage which is not great and I'm not exactly sure but most cocktails looked like 2 oz cocktails (of booze). And they are not cheap. I believe cocktails are around $16. So a mixed bag. It's totally enchanting and drinks are stellar... albeit small and pricey. Staff can be aloof. Give it a shot for the atmosphere, if nothing else.

Cozy quaint bar, it may be confusing to find at night but be rest assured it exists just need to walk into the alley ish path to get in. Service was alright as it wasn't busy but seemed like we had to get their attention to get drinks but again wasn't bad. Enjoyed the drinks, would stop by again if I'm in the area.

Stumbled upon this place after the bowling alley was closed for a private event. The security guard recommended it, and my partner and I were so happy to end the night here. It's a casual lounge with delicious craft cocktails. Both of our drinks were amazing and we can't wait to come back!

Great place to go day or night drinking! It's a nice local, homey bar that is situated near a sushi restaurant and coffee shop and accessible via alley wc kinda gives it a speakeasy type vibe. It has a patio area if you want to be able to converse without speaking loudly and the indoor area has ample seating and transforms into a moody aesthetic once nighttime hits. I've done both and it's a chill vibe either way. I've had the old fashion and raspberry coffee beer (wc was an unexpected treat) and my partner enjoyed her Pilsner. Service was attentive and laid back at the same time. People I've encountered here are kind as well. Check it out!

Met a date here on a Tuesday. Not busy since it was early in the week. Dimly lit was perfect for a first date. Good cocktails even though I'm not really a cocktail person. Lots of parking in the lot grind and across the street.

The best bar I've been to outside of Ireland! The drinks were the best--creative, unique, and top shelf; the bartender, Spencer, was AMAZING! I've never seen a bartender like him, and did i mention his drinks were fabulous? I also liked the crowd...i met quite a few folks. Lastly, it had a cool vibe that was still comfy. Great bar.

Average sweet or tarty drinks that doesn't really land. Service is slow and distracted. Waited for over 15 mins only to passed off by two other people who came after me and my friend.. had to do flag the bartender a little more intentionally than anyone should. It seemed that the one bartender tend to have a little more preference on who they serve I think.. can't tell yet if it's locals or younger women. I'll never know, cause I'm never coming back.

The place is located in the back of Cafe Birdie. Great vibes but average drinks. There was nothing wrong with the drinks but I was expecting more of a twist on the regular cocktails. I came in on a Wednesday and the place was busy so I can imagine that it can get crowded during the weekends. I got the The Floor is Lava, which was good but a little sweet for my taste. If you like Negronis, I would definitely recommend trying the The Good House Negroni. I also got a skinny margarita (not on the menu) and it tasted good. The bartenders were pretty attentive even though the place was crowded. It's a great place for a date night or even to hang out with friends. I would go back again for the atmosphere and the vibe!

Best cocktails in the city (if you can find the place). Try the mezcal cocktail and post up in one of the picnic benches or stay inside and enjoy some of the best DJ's in this low key chilled out environment. Great date spot, or place to drink alone spot TBH. Don't forget: if you say the word "Rubbarb" to the bartender, they all sing a little song like at Cold Stone Creamery. You can just lean in and whisper it. Super fun!

I've visited this bar about 10 times over the years and I really enjoy both their creative, balanced drinks, friendly bartenders, and the vibe.

I had been coming to Highland Park for some years and thought I had hit up all the local bars but was brought here by a date and I was so impressed. The vibes are immaculate, the drinks were delicious and the ambiance was so chill yet aesthetic. The craft drinks were well poured and served with those neat clear ice cubes that just make every drink feel and taste upscale. We were able to get a seat in a small corner booth and while there was music playing, it was low enough that you could carry on a conversation. I hope to return when they have a live dj set but I'll definitely be coming back.

Amazing space with great music but I couldn't get service. Stood at the bar for 30 minutes last night (as the only black person the bar) and watched the bartender blatantly skip over me repeatedly. I ended up walking out. Very unpleasant experience, and I will not be returning.

Always a good experience here. Although this bar is known for wine, they impress with their cocktails. Among bars of similar vibe, layout, and ambience, I love a chill night here as it is welcoming and comfy.

Hidden gem quite literally. In that you have to get sneaky to find it. No entrance on Fig, but ahead around back and follow the signs. Once there it's like you've entered this charming little oasis. There's indoor and outdoor seating. I usually get the pet nat wine. But the cocktails are great too. Perfect spot to spend the evening with friends or to grab a quick drink. Not overrun and plenty of lounge space. I hesitate to write a review so it will stay that way!

Started off a birthday celebration at this cozy, hidden spot. The bar was busy, but the bartenders handled it well. Drinks are excellent. No service out on the patio.

Was out meeting a few friends and didnt realize they closed at midnight (no big deal, other bars around), weird thing is they only seemed to kick out guys (aside from a few white guys). Not to say it's racial, I think the staff and their buddies just like to turn it into a fish-in-a-barrel type situation and take advantage of being the only options for girls who decide to stay. Like, I get it. Pretty sketchy, but I get it. Really nice bar otherwise.

Went a few weeks ago, ordered a few drinks with friends, and found when I checked my bank statement a few days later that I had been MASSIVELY OVERCHARGED (like 5x the amount). Tried reaching out to the manager but that's been of little-to-no use. This has just been a huge pain and I'm dealing with my bank now. If you do go, please use a credit card with some nice fraud protection.

This bar is dope! My buddy and I caught a show around the corner at The Lodge Room and decided to check out the area. After walking by a few other bars that weren't our speed, we ended up at Good Housekeeping and were stoked at the look & feel. We found two seats at the bar and I had an excellent Old Fashioned. Great conversation with our bar neighbors. Wish we had time for more drinks before they closed. They called last call but didn't force us out. Maybe one day I'll find myself in this part of the world and will hit them up again.

After having dinner in the front we moved to the back. The benefit of having an early-ish dinner was that Happy hour was in effect and with Old Fashioneds being included on the HH menu it was a no-brainer. The vibe was nice and subdued, it reminded me a bit of kissatens, where the music is pretty mellow and the volume is at a reasonable pitch so it's not too yell-y. The patio is definitely the main draw, during our visit most of the crowd was concentrated outside. The Old Fashioneds here were made well, you could taste the bourbon but it didn't dominate.

Highland park is definitely stepping it up when it comes to their restaurant and bar scene. I visited Good Housekeeping with a friend last Friday and I think I found my new go to bar. We arrived early enough to enjoy happy hour. I believe cut off is at 8pm. We were able squeeze in a couple old fashions before the full price police came in and crashed the party. $7 for a solid old fashioned, might as well be giving them away. Uber stock prices must be soaring because of this deal. The ambiance was mellow and warm with a good looking crowd. The bar is a bit small but it makes for a more intimate experience which I personally prefer. The patio was no different, small intimate vibes throughout. I could see a small birthday party of about 10-15 having an amazing time. The bartenders were also very attentive and quick with making drinks. I would highly recommend for someone looking to have a good conversation over drinks without top 50 being blasted in your eardrums.

The drinks are good and the bar itself is cute but the bartenders here are so rude. From the start it felt like the bartenders were annoyed, and one literally rolled their eyes at me when I asked to close out my tab. It was a slower night and there were maybe only 5 of us in the bar. It is a real bummer too because all my friends have had a bad experience here with service. I don't think I'd go back unless they change staff.

There is a parking lot in front of this place. If you park in the middle area of the parking lot, supposedly it's free! But don't forget to check the signs! Came in here for some themed drinks. We tried the Pineapple Upside Down Cake and Flight Attendant! It's a very vintage look and mellow vibe. The service was great! Our bartender would give us tips on some good drinks and gave me some extra cherries for my drink

Cute, little hidden gem located in back of Cafe Birdie. Each time I've ordered a drink, it's been solid. Recently, they were checking for vaccination status. Nice ambiance both inside and out. Bundle up if you plan to sit out outside because it can get cold.

The bartender on Sunday night was terribly rude and inappropriate. They seemed to only want to serve cis men and white women. The bar back was normal friendly tho. The outdoor patio was freezing and they only had one heater but couldn't bring it by the actual seats because the hanging tarp would catch on fire. Dumb setup. Also, the cigarette smoke from all the outdoor tables in the parking lot was annoying and gross. We'll never come back here.

Okay~ I see you Good Houskeeping. At first, I was confused where this place was. But there's a little sandwich board outside the restaurant saying that the bar is in the back. So... mosey on alllll the way back, past the bathrooms and outdoor patio, into this little bar. The ambiance was on point for us. It's a bit on the smaller side, but the bar itself is atmospheric. There's places to sit in booths/chairs, at the bar, or outside on the patio. I grabbed the Lovin' Cup, which was a lovely blend of citrus - grapefruit and yuzu. Kind of the perfect combo. I'm not into super sweet drinks, and this drink was pretty nice and light but not overtly sweet. We grabbed a grilled cheese sandwich and fries. Fries were good and the sauces that came with them were good. The grilled cheese... omg. i was actually expecting a dinky little sandwich, but what came out made me so happy. The grilled cheese came well sandwiched in thick bread with gooey cheese and... actually, i have no idea what came with the grilled cheese (some greens? mushrooms? honestly... no idea). but it was still delicious and very filling for an almost-midnight snack! twas pleasantly surprising. came here on a monday night around 10 p.m. and it wasn't too packed. def would come back on a weekday. i feel like this place would be super packed and crazy on a friday/weekend though... O_O

Went to the bar and it has a good vibe. Music is cool but the bartender was horrible. Took forever to get a drink and the attitude was awful. I think they need a refresher on customer service! Sad part is a few people we spoke with said the same thing. Bad attitudes like they are doing you a favor.
