This is my second time here and my last. I want to start off by saying that we arrived during lunch. My mom wanted something that was on the dinner menu, so I asked our server if we could order off the dinner menu. He looked at me and said, "I'll take care of it, baby. I got you", and winked. I'm a 52-year-old woman and this kid is maybe 20. My mom and I looked at each other and she asked, "did he just call you baby?" I told her "he sure did". I wish I had said something bc he called me "baby" two more times.
Anyway, we ordered 2 pork chop dinners, a steak, and fried pickles as an appetizer. When they delivered our food, my dad's steak was cooked perfectly and he loved it! They sat down my mom's pork chop in front of her and then sat down my pork chop in front of me. My mom immediately said that it was burnt, and it was! I just told her, "I'll eat yours you can have mine". Our server offered to replace the burnt pork chops but I didn't want to fuss about it. My mom cut into her pork chop and it was very pink inside. We called the server over and told him, so he took it back and cooked it a little longer. They brought my mom's PC back out, she cut into it and it was perfect. I realized that we hadn't got our appetizer so I asked our server about it. He told me that he forgot to order it, but he'll go ahead and bring it out and it would be on him. It took a while to come out, and it was a mess of over-breaded, slim pickles clumped together. Overall, this was a horrible lunch!
When our server came over for us to pay the bill, after we had to track him down, he didn't even hand us an itemized bill. He stood there with his little machine, and told my elderly father how much the bill was. I asked him if the pickles were on it, and he said, "oh, I forgot, I need to remove those." he then told my father the amount. My dad whipped out his card and paid him. I then told our server that I would like to see the manager, so he told me he would get him. He came over and said that he was on his way over and was going to give us a gift card to return. I first told him that wasn't necessary because I wasn't going to be coming back because I lived out of state, but then after I thought about it, I thought that my parents could come back and use it. We waited for about 15 minutes. my parents finally went to the car and I continued to wait for the manager while the server kept telling me that he was coming. Finally, the manager comes down, comes up to me and says, are you ready for this? "I understand you want to talk to me," as if our server hadn't said anything to him about what went on. For a minute, I kind of stood there, shocked, and then I said that we were waiting for a gift card from him per our server for the issues we had. He told me he wasn't going to give us a gift card, and acted as if he was unaware of any conversation like that with the server. So, I told him about our experience. I was sure to tell him that I appreciated the fact that they served us dinner during lunchtime, but to be honest, that was their decision, they could have said no. When they said, yes, they took on the responsibility to get it right. This was what I was thinking, not what I said. He told me that the pork chops come out medium, that's how they're supposed to be cooked but that we asked for medium well. I told him that our server never asked us how we wanted our pork chops cooked. And then thinking about it, if they're supposed to come out "medium" then why was one of them burnt? I could tell that he was frustrated with the situation, so he just told me he was going to take care of the bill, the entire bill. I told him that wasn't necessary, and just to take off one of the pork chops. I said several times that he did not need to refund the entire bill, Just remove a pork chop, but he insisted. I said thank you and we left.
Looking back, I feel this was the server's fault. I feel like he lied to us, that he felt that he was slick and being cute would work his tip on $163 meal. my dad has always been an over tipper, he tipped him $30. When I got home I realized that if the manager comped the entire meal I wanted to make sure the servers $30 remained. I called and spoke with a manager and he told me that he would make sure the server was taken care of. Looking back I now wish that he wasn't. My parents may be back, but I will not be back when I come into town and I am sure that the manager is perfectly fine with that. What a mess, but Logan needs this restaurant.
