Fantastic vegetarian and vegan restaurant, serving great food and tasty wine. We had the cecina, pesto and potato spaghetti and chickpea stew (local dish) - all delicious! Great atmosphere and service too. Quite reasonably priced too - the portions aren’t massive but that’s reflected in the price, so make sure to try lots of things!! Sorry for poor photos!

Google
Vegetarian restaurant with several vegan options. I was happy to get a table without reservation (Thursday night). Nice and cute place. No outdoor seating. Service was friendly but unfortunately my order was taken after 2 tables of 4 people, and as a result, I had to wait for more than 30’ to get my starter (apparently, each cecina is prepared separately on the spot and it takes 15-20’ per piece…). I was surprised to receive a half circle of cecina (not sure whether it is always served this way), and found my portion of pasta rather small. Plates served at the surrounding tables looked fuller (but no direct comparison since no one had ordered the same dish). The cecina was good but the pasta was quite bland.

Google
We spent a great lunch, the food is 100% vegetarian and the quality of every ingredient is exceptional. The farinata was worth it the visit, the pesto was with a bit too much garlicky for my taste. The ambience is clean and cozy, the service a bit slow but ok.

Lovely little restaurant with only vegetarian/ vegan options. Quality and service was a 10/10

Google
I had the saffron risotto and was super disappointed. It was more like rice in a sauce and not the trational stixky and creamy risotto I was expecting. My friend habd one of the at this time few vegan options at it was basically just a small portion of well seasoned veggies. Not filling or deserving of the name "main dish" and for the amount of food severely overpriced (the vegan dish). The service woman was super annoyed with us for no reason and just rude. Plus points are a cozy atmosphere and other staff being nice in total. But would rather recommen Brac over this place.

Google
We are vegan and enjoyed the friendly menu. The cecina was our favorite part, and I enjoyed the orange wine. The entrees were so-so, yummy but not the best we've had. It is a small humble family restaurant where you can get comfy and stay a while. The staff were very busy but friendly and helpful. Thank you!

Google
My wife and I had dinner here as it was conveniently located right below our Airbnb. We found a table outside, which added to the experience. As vegetarians, we opted for the risotto and croquettes. The risotto was creamy, though slightly bland, but still enjoyable. The croquettes, on the other hand, were excellent. We also appreciated the wine recommendations, which paired nicely with the meal

Google
We went here twice while in Florence! We didn’t have a reservation the first night, and they still found space for us which was so appreciated. The dishes were inspired, but still gave us the chance to try traditional Italian dishes as vegans. The service was warm and helpful, and they gave us wonderful wine recommendations both nights. Don’t skip this spot whether you’re a vegan or not!

Yelp
Do not believe the couple of bad reviews for this restaurant! Its wonderful! A true vegetarian restaurant that I could bring my meat loving husband to and he'd still be happy. I was recommended here by a local. Its very small and we lucked in to a table for two. They change the menu daily according to what the chef finds fresh at market. They do have their staples that are always on the menu. My friend in Florence recommended we start with the focaccia with formaggio OMG so good! It takes a good 10-15 mins for them to make it so order right away. I had the spaghetti al 4 cavoli aglio. It had caulifower, cabbage, and kale. It was amazing. The other person with me had the polenta with shiitake, pomodoro and greens. This restaurant is unassuming but on a higher level than your average trattoria. Best meal of our trip so far. Everyone was so nice and it was the first restaurant we've been to in Florence that had a woman chef. If you want a boring big bowl of spaghetti and meatballs or pizza go somewhere else and don't take up table space here!

Yelp
Lovely little restaurant close to Pitti Palace and Boboli Gardens. They are all vegetarian and offer some vegan items. The menu changes daily but everything looks delicious on the menu I ordered the tagliatelle with a vegan ragu (no Parm) which was amazing. The first pasta I have eaten during my visit to Italy since I can't always count on the pasta being egg free. This place is family owned and you can tell they really put their heart into the restaurant. My waitress was not part of the family but she was friendly, explained menu options and was attentive. If you're vegetarian or vegan, you must come here while if Florence. And, even if you're not vegetarian, why not try a new place with good food?

Yelp
We were very happy with this restaurant, we went there for lunch. We were very happy with the food. I want to comment on some of the other reviews - true the menu is only one page so it is not exhaustive. I guess that 2/3 of the items are vegan, the others have eggs or cheese. So it is not a purely vegan restaurant as we thought but they were plenty of options. Make a reservation or go early - we got a table at 13:00, but by 14:00 it was full in all the tables had been reserved.

Yelp
I am mad at this place. They did NOT have great vegan options, but everyone claimed they did. It was only human, chickpea bread, or salad. I wasted my vote for where to eat with my meat eaters friends on this place. The menu was changed from what was visible online.

Yelp
Aweful. I've tried to give this place 3 chances it's the same story. Too much attitude for shitty vegetarian food. Don't ask for balsamic for your iceberg lettuce salad. otherwise they'll be pissed and reggiseno to give it. Rice dish bland. It's basic at best and overpriced. Ordered roasted vegetables because this place isn't gluten free friendly. Instead I was given sautéed cabbage. When I said this isn't what I ordered. They took away my dish and tried to make me pay for it plus the coperto. Not recommended

Yelp
Very small portions. The waitress was quite rude and was very annoyed when we were trying to order. Place was beautiful. Food was tasteful. Service was horrible

Yelp
Small vegetarian restaurant with excellent English-speaking servers and good recipes. Could have better wines by the glass, and could decorate the plates with garnish for better presentation. Simple casual atmosphere. Elena and Zena explained the Italian menu items to us in English. Enjoyed the yummy garlicky ravioli filled with broccoli and pumpkin. Light airy texture. Parmesan cheese on side. Enjoyed the basmati rice with cooked vegetables (carrot, zucchini and others) flavored with sesame seeds. Well seasoned. Eggplant parmesan very tasty. Humus a little bland. Lavash bread tasty. Almond milk panna cotta with peach was satisfying. I enjoyed it; not too sweet. Wanted to experience panna cotta, which I never order because I'm mildly lactose intolerant. I imagine that real panna cotta is superior.

Yelp
This is a very welcoming place for Americans, we were treated to complimentary courses and free appetizers. It is located on a small square near the Palazzo Piti. Easy to walk to, the entire staff speaks great English. Wonderful food, you get a sense of real Italian life. La Dolce Vita. I recommend it to everyone visiting Florence.

Yelp
Not worth it, forget this place and please just go to Cuculia instead! You won't regret it like we did visiting this place. Walked in at 7, and server told us we are not open yet, we open at 7 in 1/2 an hour. Umm?? Okay so we wait outside for 15 mins and she opens the restaurant so we walk in with other few guests who also want to eat there. Guy server was much nicer than the lady server. Pan fried whtie Rice with zucchini and carrots with sesame seeds... No sauce? All dry? Plated horribly. Like I made it myself and threw it on a plate. Bread tasted old, no offer for balsamic olive oil Waiter had to tell us the entire menu in English and he did this for several other guests too. Menus are printed on regular paper so why not just add English description at the bottom of each item? Dessert didn't sound appetizing so we went out for gelato.

Yelp
Excellent vegetarian resturaunt with some unusual menu items. The pasta and pizza theme meets expectations, and the flavors are exceptional. We had vegetarian "meatballs" with a rice cake, a flaky flatbread with a local cheese and a top crust, asparagus and pasta, and a remarable desert i cannot name (sort of panacotta).

Yelp
Enjoyed this place! Food was excellent and it was nice to change it up from pizza and pasta. They change their menu daily based on what is fresh and available !

Yelp
Among many vegetarian spots in Florence over the years, this Ligurian place is definitely the best and hopefully it will endure. Being a vegetarian who has long been obsessed with Liguria, I am the ideal customer. For an appetizer we had cecina, a large pancake-like Ligurian and coastal Tuscan snack, which you would normally not find in a restaurant, maybe a pizza place. It arrived wrapped around stracchino, a usually packaged soft Italian cheese, which was excellent and entirely original. We ordered two unique pasta dishes, both with convoluted names, basically spaghetti with a delicious, tomato-flecked pesto sauce (I don't think there was basil in there), which was a knockout. And this homemade flat circular pasta, which I have never seen or heard of before, with a more traditional green pesto sauce, also scrumptious. The presentation is pretty fancy, while the prices are normal. The restaurant is a cute and attractive one with photos of old Florence and it's located at a fairly quiet, mini-piazza south of the Arno.

Yelp
My experience in this place has always been awesome and if you follow my instructions below you'll have the same! First: the location is exceptional, the "rive gauche" of Florence offers a multitude of typical small places that make the city thrive Second: It's always full, you must book in advance and this is synonym for happy costumers Third: their menu changes along with the seasons and their bio choices are definitely aimed to vegetarian gluttons Try their cecina as entrée, then pick one of their pasta choices (the ravioli for ex, they're freshly home made), as a second course go for pastiches or eggs and choose cereals balls only if you like dry food. As dessert pick something fruity and definitely get their bio espresso. As for the wine, stick with white. There you go, enjoy!

Yelp
bliss. We came here for our last night in Florence somewhat by accident -- it's easy to miss this little square and the surrounding streets, but there are many wonderful sites around it. They open at 7:30, so we left our names to reserve a table for 7:30 and were seated promptly when we arrived. The staff was very friendly and warm, very attentive, and went through the menu with us to explain some of their favorite dishes. We tried to basic salad (very fresh), the spaghetti with olives, garlic, olive oil, tomatoes and some spicy green peppers (a great combination) and the potato ravioli to start (it was everything we craved on an instinctual level). Then we had the Eggplant parmigiana (baked, rather than friend, but all the flavor and a perfect little ball of burrata) and the eggs poached in tomato sauce. Wonderful experience, food was excellent in the ways Italian food with a few simple and delicious ingredients can be. We will be back!

Yelp
Amazing restaurant! The food was perfect! We were looking for a small, quiet, authentic Italian spot for dinner and this is it! The pasta dishes were very tasty and the service was on point. The owner came to everyone's table to welcome them. Every server speaks English really well and made us feel welcome. The restaurant is vegetarian (we are not) but it didn't make a difference. Order the focaccia with cheese!

Yelp
We noticed the 5e cinque when we were having diner at the 4 Leoni. As a newly converted vegetarian, I got excited by their menu and was really not disappointed! We had dinner on the terrace in front of the restaurant, overlooking the square, great setting. We tried the hoummous, the cecina, the risotto with leaks, the ravioli and the asparagus and blue cheese pasta (yes that's 5 dishes for 2 persons, don't judge!). And everything was simple but amazing! For desert, the almond and orange cake was fantastic, very light but tasteful! The husband of the chef chatted with us in French for a while, and the service was really good and quick too. Perfect spot for a cosy evening in a not so touristic place (as much as that's possible in Florence!)

Yelp
Wow! To find a vegetarian restaurant in Italy and that too so creative and warm- What a delight! The people in this restaurant are really warm, nice people. They patiently explained their menu to us while helping us pick from all excellent choices. Everything we tried was exceptional. Cecina topped our list. Next was ravioli.

Yelp
I was in search of veg/vegan options while in Florence and came across 5 e cinque while walking the streets. I'm really glad I found my way inside! Pleasant staff that helped with any English translations, flavorful food, and a nice setting. The menu is small and simple, which I often prefer. Food were a little smaller but still big on flavor (veggie couscous was so comforting). I was a little disappointed with the wine selections but I fully away that's just a matter of my own personal tastes (wish they offered a more full bodied red). I'd definitely recommend!

Yelp
A definite place to stop! The food was delicious, the place so cute, and the staff so nice. The waitress translated the entire menu to us! Definitely try the cecina con stracchino. It was AMAZING!! All the food is vegetarian but delicious for meat eaters too. Check this out!!

Yelp
My wife and I loved this place. Vegetarian Restaurant and you never miss meat the whole meal. Delicious creative dishes. In a small piazza not far from the Ponte Vecchio. Great spot with good food from start to finish.

Yelp
The appetizers were great starters and made me excited for the main dishes. Having a vegetarian restaurant in the middle Florence was very unique and nice. The staff were very kind and the waiter even translated the entire menu to me! Overall, this restaurant was fantastic and I definitely recommend it to others.

Yelp
Close to the tourist attractions of the Pitti Palace and the Boboli Gardens, 5ecinque provides vegetarian/vegan meal options if supreme quality. In particular, the cecina (thick chickpea flour crepe) is deliciously nutty, the spicy couscous is the cure for all jet lag, and the pizzata (two unrisen focaccia doughs sandwiching tomato sauce, oregano, and mozzarella) is to die for. In addition, the owner is incredibly kind and translated the whole menu to English for us!

Bob G.

Yelp
It was nice to find a change of pace to standard Italian fare when we arrived in Florence. We picked this place because it had been recommended by a blogger. The restaurant's interior was pleasant and welcoming, and the food was good. We shared hummus, which was a little dry (could have used more olive oil), and had the eggs Tegamino and a rice dish. The portions were a little small for the price, but this would be a good alternative for anyone looking for a lighter meal.

Jigna J.

Yelp
This is a great organic vegetarian and vegan restaurant very close to the Uffizi and the Ponte Vecchio. The service was great and the food selection included classic Tuscan dishes like Cacio a Pepe and some nice twists like chickpea patties with an Asian slaw and mint yogurt chutney. I would highly recommend it as a nice change of pace from the usual Tuscan fare, the ambience is nice and quiet and it's a lovely place to eat.

Yelp
My first dinner in Florence and it just happened to be vegetarian! I am a vegetarian. Bellisima! They were extremely accommodating and offered me a table for 1 without a reservation around 8pm on a Tuesday. They spoke perfect English and helped me navigate the menu. I ordered their insalata and a spaghetti with a puréed sauce of broccoli, garlic, and pecorino. One bite and my mind was blown. It was heavenly and I savored it as long as I could, and finished off the sauce with the perfectly seasoned 2 pieces of thin bread. The salad came with the most wonderful olive oil and white balsamic vinegar, from a company that produces biodynamic oils and vinegar. I ended up finding it at a organic cafe called Carduccio a few blocks away. It was incredible and I can't wait to use it at home. Finished the night with cantucci e vinsanto, which capped off the most delectable night. This place is beautiful and delicious. It's a must for vegetarian or meat eaters. You won't be disappointed!

Yelp
Excellent service and great food! The rice/risotto dishes are very good and our salads were excellent. The staff went far above and beyond the call of duty in helping me retrieve my lost camera. Very friendly people, and a very cute place in a little piazza across the river from where we stayed. We'll definitely go back!

Yelp
Able to have quickly served meal when we explained we had to get to an opera nearby. Wine and food were excellent and the staff very attentive. The owner took time to explain wine sections to us.
