Beautiful hotel from the outside and great location. We picked the 5th floor because it's supposedly more economical than the other floors. However, at more than 300 a night, the room felt like a sad maid's quarter. The room had no AC, which was probably not uncommon in the area but we wished it was made obvious on their website because it got really hot in August. The very sagging mattress made you wonder if this was where the unwanted mattresses from the other floors go to die. When it came to cleanliness, there was much to be desired - A black hair tie was left on the night stand, which was probably from people who stayed there last. There was also a piece of ramen noddle on the floor (which I quickly recognized as a ramen lover myself). Front desk staff were very friendly and helpful but not the staff at breakfast. On one of the mornings I was in a rush to catch a train. So I got a plate of food and grabbed some pastries to take with me to save time. An asian looking lady with glasses saw me doing that and told me they have to-go boxes for that at a fee. I told her I would just eat them now. Instead of just letting it go, she went on to tell me, "That's fine. But not like that." She sounded like my mother scolding me for doing something wrong. Overall this was not the experience I was hoping to have and would choose somewhere else next time.

Interlaken Hotel is too expensive, so I chose this as an alternative, but the bathroom and shower room are shared. I drink beer in the evening, and at night, I have to pack my clothes to go to the bathroom. I go into the shower room, take off my clothes, and shower, but there is no liquid soap, so it's a sad comedy. The morning breakfast is not bad, but it's not good either. It's just so-so.

The receptionist called Valentina was not very helpful when we were trying to book the stay . She was rather annoyed with us , so we ended up booking elsewhere.

Staying at Hotel Interlaken, was a memorable experience, especially for the price. First and foremost, the staff at Hotel Interlaken truly made me feel welcome. From the moment I checked in at the reception to my interactions with the restaurant staff, everyone was genuinely friendly and accommodating. They all spoke English fluently, which made communication easy and enjoyable. Their warm hospitality really enhanced my stay. I booked a room on the 5th floor, which was located in an extended area of the hotel. One thing to keep in mind is that the elevator only goes up to the 4th floor, so to reach the room, I had to carry my luggage up an additional flight of stairs. While this wasn’t a major issue for me, it’s something to consider if you have mobility challenges. The room itself was clean and comfortable, and the views from the window were simply magnificent. I loved looking out over the beautiful scenery, which added so much charm to my stay. However, the only downside was that the bathroom was not en suite; instead, it was located outside the room, down an alley next to the staircase, which did give it a bit of a dormitory vibe. While it was a little inconvenient, I reminded myself that this is a budget hotel, and the price reflected that. Another highlight of my stay was the location. Hotel Interlaken is situated in the heart of the city, making it very strategic for exploring the area. It’s within walking distance of the train station, which made it easy to travel and also close to the Interlaken Skylift station. This accessibility is a huge plus for anyone looking to explore the breathtaking Swiss Alps. Overall, I had a pleasant experience at Hotel Interlaken. Despite the minor inconveniences with the bathroom setup, the friendly staff and great location make it a worthwhile option for budget travelers seeking a convenient base for their adventures in Interlaken. I would definitely recommend it to those looking for a cozy and welcoming place to stay.

Stayed here summer of 2023, and it was the best! I emailed once I made my booking to ask about the shared bathrooms (as a solo female traveller, I wanted to be safe) and they placed me in a beautiful room right next door to the shared shower space, which gave me a huge peace of mind and was very convenient. I'm so grateful for the help they gave me :) The room was very clean and the bathrooms were always freshly cleaned when I used them. The single room had a breathtaking view, I left late in the mornings and came back early just to lounge and relax at the stunning view. It was early summer, but the lack of AC didn't bother me at all because the air was cool in the morning and evenings and it was very easy to open and close the windows. For those thinking of staying here, be aware the elevator doesn't go all the way to the floor, you'll need to take the stairs. For me, it was no problem at all. Other notes: The breakfast is delicious and a huge cost-savings, since I'm a student on a budget and Switzerland was the most expensive place I visited on my backpacking trip. I had a huge breakfast each morning (they had reasonable hours too). The staff were great and the receptionists were super helpful. I felt very well taken care of. They let me store my luggage there before check-in, gave me a map of places to try and some discounts they had with local areas, and they were really kind as I left and returned each day. I also dined at the restaurant there as well and it was maybe not so great service (I think I confused the staff since I was eating alone, and everyone else had 2+ groups) but tasty food nonetheless! If I ever come back to Interlaken, I will definitely stay here! Insanely great value, do not hesitate! Edit: Thanks to the hotel for the kind reply :) Just to prove the amazing view, I added a photo - it was like being inside a painting. My alarm clock was the birds in the morning (and sometimes, the musical church bells)

Awesome value! For the price and being in interlaken, you can’t beat this! Very clean rooms, very kind and knowledgeable staff, and a good breakfast is included! Just remember there is no AC which is not a problem most of the year, but there is a fan for the hot days. Also, some rooms share a bathroom, however mine did not have that, as I booked with private bathroom which is better. Thanks to all those there that made it a nice stay! Look forward to a future visit!

Yelp
Extremely disappointed with this hotel. Please stop advertising that it has AC. I paid extra to find a hotel that had AC. The room was hot the bathroom was like a sauna. I was told the AC only gets 5 degrees cooler than it is outside, so if you're staying here in the summer, good luck! Glad I only stayed one night. Plus the room is outdated. It's dusty which is why I didn't sit on the couches. Plus, the wall ceiling looked as if it was caving in. This was the upgraded room. I can't imagine the how the economy rooms look and feel. Staff was also rude. Only plus side is that it's close to the train station.

Yelp
Room= clean with nice bathroom but the sheets on the bed were horrible. Duvet was very thick and heavy and room (entire hotel, actually) was very hot. We had our window open all night. Staff are friendly and knowledgeable, and willing to help. Very disappointed in the food for dinner but breakfast buffet was nice Good location. A Walking around town, I wish we had stayed at the much less touristy Hotel Goldy

Yelp
The wait staff was friendly and the food was good. We stopped in with small appetites but they treated us respectfully. I enjoyed the asparagus ravioli appetizer. In usual Swiss fashion, the waiters became invisible once our food was served. Paying the check shouldn't be that complicated!

Yelp
Probably my favorite hotel I've ever stayed in, and I've stayed in a lot of hotels. Good location and just gorgeous room, comfortable bed, great balcony overlooking the pond; watched the sun rise from the balcony one morning over the mountains, perfect. Nice level of luxury; super nice but not crazy over-the-top fancy.
