Google
While driving through Eugene we stopped at the 5th Street Public Market for a quick bite. We found everything we needed in one location including a free parking spot. From Cafe Yumm to Magpie Coffeeshop we were very satisfied with our meal choices and drink options. Everyone was very friendly!

Fun place with different shops. A little bougie but it's a cool little spot with food and stores.

Wonderful area full of fun shops and eateries! If you get the chance to stop for ice cream at Handel’s, do it! So delicious!!!

Eugene, Oregon's market is a hidden gem, offering a delightful array of products ranging from food and groceries to toys, fancy soaps, and handmade ice cream. As I stepped inside, I was immediately captivated by the market's excellent interior and exterior. The well-designed layout and tasteful decor created an inviting atmosphere that made me want to explore further. The food section was a gastronomic haven, boasting a diverse selection of fresh produce, local delicacies, and gourmet ingredients. It was a pleasure to peruse the well-stocked shelves and discover unique culinary treasures. The grocery section impressed me with its wide range of organic and artisanal products, catering to various dietary preferences. Beyond the culinary delights, the market's toy section was a paradise for children and adults alike. The shelves were adorned with high-quality toys, games, and puzzles that sparked joy and nostalgia. As I meandered through the aisles, I couldn't help but be drawn to the captivating displays of fancy soaps, their enticing scents filling the air. To top it off, the market's handmade ice cream counter was a true delight. The delectable flavors crafted with love and attention to detail were simply irresistible, providing a sweet ending to my visit. Overall, this market in Eugene, Oregon, offers a remarkable shopping experience. Its excellent interior and exterior, combined with the diverse range of products, make it a must-visit destination for anyone seeking quality goods and a delightful atmosphere.

Google
This little gem is worth checking out if you have some free time. They offer great shopping with a lot of French products and food. The bakery was superb! My almond croissant and cappuccino we're perfect.

Google
What a neat little place! We were looking for a regular mall and found this little gem! Super unique shops and a really nice little grocery store / eatery on the bottom floor. We found a lot of cool stuff that we ended up buying.. Artisan pasta, little scrubby brushes, wooden utensils and a pretty decent wine selection! Clean bathrooms, shops and floors. Really beautiful and some ornate flower arrangements. They had one of the best toy stores we had ever been to, with a huge selection to choose from. We went during October and their Halloween directions were on point! They had a giant pumpkin that was being carved right before us. We enjoyed our time at this fascinating place and we'll be sure to return!

Google
They have a shop in there where they make what they call Dubai pastries it’s not Dubai. It has an amaretto flavor to it. It’s not Dubai. They charge six dollars for them. It’s not Dubai. That’s false advertisement. There’s like these crunchy wafers in there. It’s not Kaffee. It’s just disgusting. I wasted $12 on two of them. I do not recommend.

Yelp
Not much to do in Eugene and not much to do here either. The shops are very bland, the Nike store is micro size, and the people traction is very quiet. If you are looking to kill time and eat lunch, stop by. Not much going on though here.

Yelp
Opened in January 2021, the Market Alley is the newest addition to the 5th Street Public Market. Located in the heart of downtown Eugene, you'll find a collection of unique shops, dining, wine & spirit tasting experiences and more. The 200-foot long covered "Market Alley" is sandwiched between the three-story Market Building (commercial and retail space), the Gordon Lofts Apartments (retail facing the Market Alley) and the Gordon Hotel at the opposite end of the Alley (across from the original 5th Street Public Market area). The Market Alley section was uncrowded while I visited with a friend, even though the original Market area was packed. We were on the lookout for certain Pendleton products, so it was a good excuse to checkout the area while there. As a plus, Heritage Distilling Co. was offering free tastings. I was already familiar with their Dual Barrel (Vanilla) Bourbon Whiskey...the night before experimenting with various whiskeys and liquors mixed with eggnog...yes, whiskey goes great with eggnog! And you thought science wasn't fun ;-) It was nice to sample some of Heritage Distilling Co's other high quality spirits...all very good! So if you haven't been down to the Market Alley, I do recommend a visit.

Yelp
I definitely recommend checking out this little market area as it's a great place to stop by if you're in town and they have a little in you can stay at that has some rooms that are themed, apparently. Friendly service everywhere you go great deals and little local gift shops, but especially the food. Here is great and there's a little coffee shopcalled magpie that you should check out as well if you're craving some caffeine. I love stopping here every time I come through from Portland as it's a staple of the city.
google avatar

Mike L.

Yelp
Three levels of all kinds of cool, eclectic things and places to eat. Took a walk here after we went to a local brewery and had a lot of cool fines for souvenirs for everybody back home. Check them out online to see their full compliment of stores guaranteed they'll be something that you'll be into.
google avatar

Kait R.

Yelp
Love spending the afternoon here. Either getting food from the food court or the new Vietnamese place and following it with a desert/drink on the balcony. I will almost always take home one of their flower bouquets as well, they're so hard to resist. There's so many interesting things to look at along all of the shops.
google avatar

Connor E.

Yelp
This is a great place with all sorts of restaurants; I recommend (Thai Spice and Cafe Glendi) and fun little shops. It's the perfect location to come right after a bike ride to stop by and grab a bit of a drink. If you are visiting Eugene it's a great to-dos while your here.

Yelp
Had lunch at 2nd floor food gallery, the "greek" place. For a chicken salad, $18.50!!! And they insisted I pay in advance. Also had to give them a TIP??? before they could run my CC? 1) WHAT TIP? The food was terrible! Iceberg Lettuce with 3 black olives and 2 cherry tomatoes. Not Greek at all. Bottom line, since when are we forced to give a tip at Any food court? Let alone tip anywhere before we get the food??? Pathetic. Discusting food. Zero service!!! U have to pick up your own food. Not del to your table. Also u have to clear your own table. Finally difficult to find a clean table as no one wipes the food off them. Discusting service don't waste your time or money!!!

Yelp
Very cute place to walk around or have lunch/dinner. You can find shopping store, food, dessert, bars etc.

Marissa M.

Yelp
Amazing! Such a great place to walk around, shop and eat. Lots of winery's and brewery's. Cool atmosphere.

Yelp
Cute and adorable local hang out. From French butcher and bakery options to diverse food courts this little spot is a definite must when visiting downtown Eugene. Adorable boutique shops, plenty of outdoor seating and great coffee spots. Surrounded by a multitude of delicious eateries, come visit!!

Yelp
Eugene's new 5th Street Market includes a totally engaging market alley of unique shops, dining, music and art. Coffee, pies, ice cream, distillery, aroma therapy, wine tastings and lots of fun. This is how we started celebrating the holidays. They even added snow the night we visited. A super holiday treat.
google avatar

Steve P.

Yelp
Having a slice of pizza, kids are playing in the snow by the fountain... ya. Snowing in here, luv that technological magic! Christmas tree lighting, santa is around here somewhere, there was even a band playing and singing. Lots of happy giggles from kids. This is just like walking around in a Hallmark Movie!
google avatar

John H.

Yelp
A cluster of restaurants with free parking lots. Nothing really caught my eye but if you are indecisive there are a few options. Chinese, Mexican, bars, coffee shop, and grill and burger joints.
google avatar

Brandi I.

Yelp
It's a good spot for food and shopping. Parking is pretty easy and free which is nice. Live music some nights.
google avatar

Monty S.

Yelp
5th Street Public Market is a really great place to go spend some time visiting all the many specialty shops. They have a little of everything from bistros, bakery, burger joint, boutique, coffee shop, ice cream shop, Pizza shop, Arts & Crafts. You can literally spend an entire day here and when you get tired of milling about you can laze around outside by the fountain for a while. If I had a complaint about 5th Street Public Market I guess it would have to be that their parking is all a big ol mess. Other then that it an ideal place to take someone from out of town to give them a taste of what Eugene is all about.
google avatar

Bill B.

Yelp
It is deserving of its 5's. Not only great selection and presentation, but fun too. Good place to just hang out. As good for eating as shopping but pretty limited to deli items when dining. It deserves a much higher ranking.
google avatar

Danielle A.

Yelp
We had such a lovely time celebrating the birthday of the 5th street market! We visited, pfiffer winery, beaudet jewelers, mountain rose aroma bar, paws pet shop, the Gordon hotel and handles ice cream. The 5th street market has always done such a great job with creating a great experience whether it be for the families, runners, or lovers. There is something for everyone!
google avatar

Karin H.

Yelp
The 5th Street Public Market has always been one of my favorite places to shop. They have curated a wonderful selection of shops and restaurants that will have you coming back over and over again. While a few shops have come and gone, most of them have been in the marketplace for many years.

Billy T.

Yelp
Nice that Eugene has a spot like this. Love that it is open aire. Like the plant shop especially!
google avatar

Rob S.

Yelp
Our last night visiting family in Oregon and my Sister suggested this place. There really is a little bit of something for everyone here. They have all sorts of Oregon and specifically Eugene crafted items found in multiple stores to go along with a toy store for the kids. Great place to just wander around at a leisurely pace to look for unique things for yourself, or in our case for some souvenirs and gifts. Prices range from reasonable to pretty expensive. There were plenty of people that seemed to have the same idea as us. The nice thing is, there isn't any hard walking, so it's good for all ages if you can get around ok. Staff were friendly in all of the stores we went in and were helpful when we needed anything. Fun little place to go to spend a couple hours and look for some unique things.
google avatar

Meredith E.

Yelp
Eugene is a GREAT town filled to the brim with delightful, happy, helpful folks who just love to share their town. And the Fifth Street Market is a wonderful Friday night gathering spot. The people watching is delighful and the options range from wonderful foodie options, to Fair Market Trade goods of every discription. Made in Oregon goods are highlighted along with loads of farm-to-table menus that will delight every taste. Come, shop, delight all of your senses and enjoy your time in a wonderful city!
google avatar

Jared H.

Yelp
The place is beautiful, however, 15-20 dollars for lunch is too much. And I don't want to get started about their overprices on their meats, because that would be a whole 'nother story. I understand that the hotel is supposed to be luxury, but the it's surrounding buildings are insurmountably more appealing with their portions, price and staff. The hotel, however, is very nice, but I can't give it anything better than 3 stars.
google avatar

Missy L.

Yelp
This whole place has a French feel and theme!! We had no idea al these shops and restaurants were even on this area! We left with coffee and pastries. There was too many items I wanted to buy. The bread looked amazing! I will be coming back to try the pizza, get a glass of wine and shop the shops more!
google avatar

Jasmine T.

Yelp
If you ask a Eugenian what to do while visiting the area, this will usually show up somewhere on the list. There is so much to do here--in fact, my husband and I often come here when we just feel like getting out of the house and wandering about. There are a ton of restaurants to choose from within a half mile radius, all at varying price points. Lots of boutique shops to browse through as well. If it's your first time, be sure to check out Provisions Market Hall (they have pastries, pizza, a wine bar, you name it) and browse through their gift section. It's the perfect place to buy a gift for a home cook. Also check out the upstairs area, there are more shops and restaurants up there. They also decorate the area during the holidays and typically have fake snow (aka foam snow)--don't miss it!
google avatar

Kathleen D.

Yelp
What a nice market. Except "market" doesn't feel like the right word to use to describe this space. It's stylish and modern. It's airy, clean and inviting. The stores are mostly upscale, but there are some that are generally affordable. I really liked the store with fair-trade African goods, for example. I can't speak to the parking lot situation (as other reviewers mention) since we walked here. As for the food court, there were so many options that smelled so delicious, it was almost overwhelming. If I had more time in Eugene during my trip out West, I definitely would've stopped back for a meal. Great stop for a sunny day!

Teddi F.

Yelp
I absolutely adore this place. Such a fun place to visit especially on a nice evening.
google avatar

Susan L.

Yelp
We went there yesterday and it's a pleasant place to visit, although we didn't feel it was worth a lot of time. The food market is lovely and rather large, with many tempting-looking items. One of the shops - Swahili African Modern - was particularly worth visiting (see my separate review). Three hours of free parking is available in a large lot across the railroad tracks.
google avatar

Briana M.

Yelp
I loved this place! There's plenty of stores with so much variety and restaurants. A really cute place to walk around and browse if you have time. Check out Swahili on the second floor and there's a cute clothing boutique right across. Would recommend if you're coming to Eugene.

Mike H.

Yelp
Market Of Choice. 1. they have really good products, but some not so good products. Their bakery, some really good items, and then there are the buck et of lard items made with who knows! More later, What Market Of Choice is the number 2 store if Coburg Rd. is # 1?

Yelp
In a day and age when in-person shopping is becoming rarer and rarer, 5th St Public Market has probably never been more enjoyable. It'll be even better once the new development opens but it currently offers some great local shops, food, and experiences. If there ever was a Eugene staple, 5th St may just be the epitome. I've been going there since I was a little kid. It's nice because it offers an upscale (but approachable), walkable experience conveniently located near downtown. I anticipate it will become even more popular once Eugene finishes its riverfront development as well. Some of my favorite Eugene eateries are in/around 5th St, and Provisions Market Hall has some great local and international selections for wine, beer, food, and kitchen shopping. It also has a great little coffee shop that also has some legit gelato. The only negative (and reason why I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5) is their parking lot is the devil. Otherwise, this is an awesome place to experience. Be sure to check out the seasonal events they have as well. Their holiday event gets quite popular with fake snow and Santa, although that will probably change this year unfortunately due to COVID.
google avatar

Mark B.

Yelp
This place has been around a long time. I remember having lunch here in high school. Still its a really nice place. It has changed for the better over the years to. There are lots of shops, most of them unique. Same goes for the restaurants. There is free parking close by (just across the tracks). I like the fountains and the open feel. its a great place to explore, or just to kill some time reading, eating and/ or people watching. It isn't really a destination but if your in the area and have some time I would check it out.
google avatar

Jeffrey S.

Yelp
I sorta kinda really love this little spot. It's got spunk and personality and even though it's not exactly hidden, it still feels like you're discovering something. I had a few minutes so I wandered over, not sure about what I would find. It's technically a "shopping center" but that name conjures images of schmengy strip malls or terrible suburban parking lots strewn with shopping carts and errands. No, this is not that. It's a collection of interesting, unique, colorful shops that make up a neat, multi-story open air cooperative. Each store (indoors) is unique and vibrant. There are no grocery-dry cleaner-lightbulb-copies errands to be had here. This is a take your time and browse kind of affair. I entered and was immediately drawn to the toy store. Like a child, I was spellbound by the books and science kits and learning toys and models and all the colors and sensory overload. Then it was the fabric and needlework shop. And then it was peering in all the other windows and lamenting that I had only given myself 10 minutes. You cannot do this in 10 minutes. I never got down to the bottom level. Even though it's not a very big "shopping center," you need more than 10 minutes. You need a lot more. The restaurant scene looked super interesting, and that perhaps there had been some money spent there lately to sparkle it up? I enjoyed peering over the railing to the fountain below, and contemplating what to do if I had more time. You're dealing with parking along the main street, but remember there's a lot just across the street and on the other side of the tracks that gives you 2 hours if you're there to shop. Sweet! Otherwise, it's metered parking, but the meters go off pretty early. Clear some time and come wander with no purpose in mind at all.

Yelp
Browsing the newly remodeled Fifth Street Public Market is a small but very satisfying pleasure. While it's still home to beloved retail boutiques like New Twist, Outdoor Elements, Rhythm & Blooms, and Melange, it also houses new (and shop-worthy) stores like Made in Oregon and Will Leather Goods, plus a host of new, trendy restaurants. My favorite discovery though, is nestled downstairs, in Marche Provisions' dessert display cases. This already-overachieving specialty food and wine shop recently hired the now-shuttered Nib's former executive chef to oversee its artisan bakery- and the results are spectacular. Rainbow-hued macarons and handmade chocolate truffles, Paris-brest cakes, gorgeous eclairs, daintily piped lemon meringue tarts, frangipane & fruit tarts, and bread puddings beckon from glass cases, and cream-filled brioches (sprinkled with pearl sugar and dolloped with jam) sit aside jamon-covered breakfast pastries, and flaky, golden almond croissants. Even better though, are the loaves of bread (N.Y rye and the nutty whole wheat sourdough are my favorite) that Marche Provisions bakes daily. MP has also recently expanded to include a large kitchenware, cookbook and home goods section, wine bar, seafood, charcuterie and butcher counter and produce section. The expansion makes for great browsing, but service tends to be spotty and haphazard. If you swing by, make sure you allocate enough time to browse *and* locate staff for services you may need. The good thing is that there are more than enough gems to browse through while you wait.

Yelp
Upscale. Totally hip. This place is awesome! A partially open mall and partially a covered market if how I would describe this place. There are some amazing market selections inside including floral, butcher, coffee, wood fired pizza, cheeses, and gourmet sandwiches. Everything about this market is really gourmet, high end quality. A baguette sandwich and a coffee was our indulgences. The sandwich was just spectacular. Perfect bread, thick sliced ham, Swiss cheese and some sweet mustard. Simply wonderful. The coffee was local and I have to say it was really good. They added their own chocolate and caramel for a sweetener the lady recommended. Oh, my, goodness. If I could have access to this more often it might be dangerous! It tasted so good! The outdoor shops we went to was a Title Nine store. They were having a big sale. Dangerous to say the least. There was a nice African trade store. They had great prices. Free trade. Very impressive Shona sculptures from Zimbabwe was a nice highlight. Beautiful pieces of art. There was a fancy looking Italian restaurant and a hotel right next door. Perfect location. Great hangout!

Yelp
We had lunch at the deli in the renovated 5ht St. Public Market. The coffee, pastry, sandwich, takeout and pizza sections remain. the separate flower and kitchen shops are gone but kitchen and flower sections remain along with a new wine bar, butcher shop and wine section. I ordered the cuban grilled sandwich that included ham, pork belly, cheese, pickles and mustard in a panini style bun. The sides were mustard pickles with a few pieces of lettuce (not iceberg). It was quite good. My companion enjoyed a large slice of margarita pizza with a large helping of mix greens. We also shared a large, rich peanut butter, chocolate chip, hazelnut cookie. In the past we have bought some of the excellent bread from the bakery section that provided the cookie mention above. Four stars for the bakery.
google avatar

Victoria B.

Yelp
Upscale market with a nice variety of foods, gifts, and specialty items. Plenty of fun shops to wander through. Maybe a tad overpriced? A handful of salad and slice of pizza will cost you $8.50. But in their defense, the food was delicious.
google avatar

Elisa H.

Yelp
This is not a farmers market or a grocery store as the word market seems to imply, rather a group of unique shops and eateries, sort of like a shopping center. Whwouldn't bring a dog into the restaurants, the market itself is for the most part, dog friendly. My favorites are New Twist and the toy store. Love the unique jewelry and other items in New Twist . And the toy store has so many fun items for kids! Must warn you, the market is a tad pricey, however, remember, these are speciality stores.
google avatar

Lacy A.

Yelp
We love this place at Christmas! We attend every year and enjoy the "snow" and all the pretty lights and trees. Great for families- very cold and usually rainy- and parking is hard close by. But so worth it. So many great shops and places to munch!! A great spot that changes vendors year after year but it's alwyas a classy and sportive place to shop!
google avatar

Mike M.

Yelp
It's a shopping center, but as far as these are concerned, it's really pretty. Beautiful layout, plants, flowers, fountains and specialty shops and restaurants. A really cool African Art store and some mouth watering eateries. Definitely worth an hour of your time.
google avatar

Maki D.

Yelp
I remember back in the day when the Fifth Street Market was basically like a hippie indoor mall and the marketplace resembled something of an indoor saturday market. At some point that all changed and the Fifth Street Market became all yuppified. Yup I said it. Whoever purchased the building and its leases certainly understood the power of a good make over. Fast forward to the market today with a multitude of shops, cafes, restaurants and now a boutique hotel, the Fifth Street Market has become a destination for the Eugene area. Playing host to some celebrities and athletes, the Inn at the Fifth has presented a wider circle of patrons to the market and it's businesses. The small boutique hotel sits to the left of the marketplace with the Aveda salon and Marche as the prominent businesses in the forefront. Downstairs is Marche Provisions which is a deli of sorts and an adorable little shop with kitchen and wine merchandise. Rhythm and Bloom are also located downstairs with already made up bouquets as well as single cut flowers. Upstairs is the International cafes. You have your choice of anything from Ocha which is the sister business to Sabai restaurant, craft burgers from NorthWest burgers, Italian food from Baker Butcher and Greek cuisine from Cafe Glendi. Besides the cafes and shops, the market is also host to sushi restaurant, Pure as well as one of my absolute favorite restaurants, Marche. Parking is not usually an issue, but when it is, there is plenty of public parking access across the street, just note that public parking is good for 3 hours, any longer and you run the risk of being ticketed....somehow I know this ;) So there you have it, Fifth Street Market is the place to be in Eugene, OR.
google avatar

Rick M.

Yelp
These people exploit our local artists. Make sure you tip the performers there because they aren't being paid by the market! This company advertises that they support their community but they don't! It's just that simple. No respect whatsoever for the people who make Eugene unique and enjoyable. Part of the problem with our society these days no the solution. Not true supporters of the human race and could care less about the human condition. Boycott time
google avatar

Q P.

Yelp
The market is just fine, but Diamond Parking polices their lot like a bunch of malevolent, hawk-eyed nitpickers, doling out $30 fines for piddling offenses. Few things wholly reverse the happy, relaxed affects of a massage at Gervais like a ticket for the front of your vehicle being less than a inch over the (subcompact) parking line - a byproduct of the positioning of the cars to either side when I got there. I feel doubly cheated, for both the exorbitant fine and the totally negative impact on the massage which I'd saved up for months for. The message I got was "don't park in our lot unless you could just as easily pay for valet." Given the sort of shops in the market, maybe that's the elitist message they want to send. ~edit~ Diamond Parking was willing to work with me on the fine, so they get another star. They still ruined my massage, so they don't get any more.

Yelp
We enjoyed all the different Choi's es and how lovely everything was...but so expensive.

Yelp
Nice little market; prices are definitely high, but we are sure their rent is quite pricey! Plenty of sales staff to help you.

Vada D.

Yelp
I really only come to 5th Street for the food. Although I have been to Hartwick's and Rhythm and Blooms, which are both excellent stores with great customer service. The International Cafes are all really delicious. There's a huge open lobby (think classy food court...if that's possible) where you can eat your lunch, enjoy your coffee or study. FYI, if you're coming here to study the outlets are limited, so come fully charged. The outdoor courtyard is also quite enjoyable, especially when it's nice out. There's a fountain in the center and a lot of greenery and flowers, so it's relaxing. However, I do have a couple of bones to pick with 5th street. First, GET MORE BIKE PARKING. This is Eugene. There are only three racks (one on 5th and two on the 6th street side) and they're always taken. People resort to locking their bikes to the Handicap signs, railings, and parking meters. Also, fix your Internet or don't advertise it. It hardly ever works and when it does it's slow. Luckily I have a cell phone I can tether, so it's not always an issue for me, but I've had several customers approach me to ask me how I'm online when they can't get a strong signal.
google avatar

Marc T.

Yelp
Looking for a food court with a difference? Here all the food outlets are independent, so no Panda Express or Sbarro here. Liked the Mediterranian place, with their plump hot falafels. The supermarket downstairs has fresh pizza with interesting toppings, sandwiches and a gelato bar. It's like a unchained Whole Foods.
google avatar

Tammy G.

Yelp
The market is a find for boutiques and tasty food but the parking is a bear. We drive a mid-sized crossover and it's very difficult to navigate their lot. There are options. Plenty of street parking with meters and nearby permit lots as well. Provisions serves Wandering Goat coffee and Gervais serves up incredible spa services.
google avatar

Janelle L.

Yelp
While not for the typical college student in terms of affordability, having lunch here was worth the splurge! A variety of options for all palates, I opted for a small quiche and side salad. A perfect amount of food in a comforting location, there is a lot to look at and even great people watching. Everyone was extremely friendly, and the food was great to boot!

Yelp
Much better. Nice remodel and many more stores and restaurants. I love to eat at marche and walk around. Plenty of events too.
