So a relatively new tradition I have for my Halloween Horror Nights jaunt is to come here beforehand and have a nice meal for the Stay and Scream or whatever it's called, before getting let loose into the event. We got in, got a seat, and chugged water for the long night ahead. While doing that, we looked at the menu, and ordered.
I had the Irish Fish & Chips (North Atlantic fresh cod fish in ale batter with wedge fries. Served with a side of malt vinegar and tartar sauce). I like it when the restaurant actually tells you what kind of fish you're eating. I would hate to think I'd have fried tilapia with my chips.
This cod was Coated in heavy batter. It wasn't too oily or anything, but there is a lot of breading. Some people like that, some people don't. I was fine with this, because enough ketchup can make anything good. Alsooo, the chips are pretty good here. They're small, so you get an excellent fried outside-to-potato inside ratio. Big fan.
I also got to sample the classic Reuben (Tender corned beef, fresh shaved cabbage, Thousand Island dressing, pickle, Swiss cheese grilled on fresh marble rye). This was just a good sandwich. Tender and juicy beef, crispy fresh cabbage, the tang of the dressing, and the ooey gooey cheese that tied it all together. I was a big fan.
Overall, this is a nice place to eat. If you're in the park, you could come here, not overpay too much, and have a nice meal.
