Yelp
Stopped in for something cool to drink and a place to sit for a min. There was no room at the inn. No where to sit... so we copped a squat in the waiting area. We got a couple of sodas and relaxed as best as we could for a few. The bartender was pleasant and even though we had to split up the soda and getting off our feet did the trick!

Yelp
We were hungry after riding Transformers. Our waiter was cool and accommodating. We ordered the Potato and Onion Webb as a starter and it was pretty good. Then we got the Fish & Chips and the Bangers & Mash. The fish was juicy and flavorful with yummy, salted fries. My sis enjoyed the bangers & mash, but she felt the sausage could've been cooked more. Other than that, it was a pretty good experience.

Yelp
Adulthood at theme park, often find myself looking for full bar spot in the afternoon (ha!) Wow this place is a gem, extensive alcoholic option for a theme park restaurant. Live music!! Spacious seating and standing spots. Would love to try the food next time.

Yelp
Finnegan's Bar and Grill is located inside Universal Studios in the New York section. It's located directly across an alley from where The Blues Brothers act is performed. Finnegan's is a large restaurant with indoor seating only. It takes walk ins and reservations, is table service and has a full bar. I had lunch there last week and ordered one of the house specialties which is beef stew for $22. The meal arrived less than 15 minutes later. When it arrived the waitress asked if I would like any soda bread which I accepted. It is complimentary so be sure to ask for it. The stew had plenty of stew meat in it but not many vegetables. It also had a large dollop of mashed potatoes in the center. The gravy was dark brown and the meal tasted very good. However, it was a smallish serving so the soda bread helped fill me up. This stew serving should be larger...theme park dining! I like the interior decor of Finnegan's and the food tasted very good. Try to get a window near the Blues Brothers stage and you might be able to watch the show through a window while dining. The meal was a 3.5 but I'll round up to a 4 for Yelp purposes.

Yelp
The best theme park food that doesn't feel a theme park food. We have been several times, and every time has been extremely pleasant. The staff is fun, friendly and fast. The atmosphere is relaxing while being engaging. The menu is extensive with options for every taste. Our favorites are: the potato and onion webb, reilly's chicken wings, shepherd's pies, and fish and chips.

Yelp
Every time I go to universal I have to eat here! I have been obsessed with their potato leek soup since I was a little kid and it's so nostalgic to always have some here consistently good and familiar to eat so many years later! I also had the spicy chicken tenders which were delicious but you can't go wrong with a burger either! It's such a fun and cozy experience and everyone who works here is always so friendly!

Yelp
Loved eating here! It has the classic Irish pub feel with the music to top it off. The menu is Irish classics and absolutely delicious. We got there as soon as it opened so seated quickly, food came at a wonderful time, and the service was quick and friendly. It filled up quick so I could see this being very busy. The plates are pretty good sizes too. The potatoes and onions appetizer we got was a bit too much for being a starter before the entree but I can see if being worthwhile for those dropping in for just a quick bite and not full plates! They've got a wide array at the bar but also some Irish style cocktails to order. The food was cooked perfectly. My dish, the shrimp boxty is now a favorite of mine that I need to have again!

Yelp
Finnegan's is located inside Universal Studios directly across from the Mummy Ride. It is one of our favorite places and somewhere we will visit each time we are there. This is one of the only restaurants in Universal that serves a multiple role. They have a bar which you can go and grab a drink to go, sometimes you are also able to sit at the bar and then they have an actual sit-down restaurant as well. We have been here numerous times mostly at the bar as well as a handful of times in the actual restaurant. To talk about the bar. This is a full-service bar, it's pretty long and has lots of space. The bartenders here are absolutely fantastic, with most of them having worked here for numerous years. It has a very nice variety of beers on tap as well as a fully stock liquor bar. My favorite drink to get here is an espresso martini. We usually get it go, which would be served in a plastic Universal cup, but what is great with this drink in particular, is that they serve it with a sugar stick. It is a very good drink for a theme park bar. My husband usually orders a Blue Moon beer with a Jameson orange shot to add to the beer. It brings out the orange flavor in the beer. We have also had lunch in the restaurant a few times. Their food is very Irish including fish and chips, shepherd's pie, and more. They also have more Americanized food such as chicken, burgers and buffalo chicken strips. The service is always fantastic and it's a nice break from the park. You usually do not need a reservation although on busy days, it might be required or a very long wait. They also have a live musician at times which also adds to the ambiance of this location. Overall, we really enjoy this place both for sitting down and having lunch/dinner and also just coming in to grab a drink to go. It has become one of our staples at Universal and a place we would continue to return to time after time. I would highly recommend anyone checking it out especially for a cocktail.

Yelp
After all these years I've never been to Finnegan's. Atmosphere is set up to be like a "pub". At least a cartoon version of one. Exactly what you'd expect at a theme park. Service was prompt and the food and drinks came out quickly. Started with a half and half Guinness and Harp. Always a good choice! I went with the Guinness Beef Stew. It came with a side with 2 soda breads and spreads. At first look, it seems a bit small. And yeah, if I was famished and was only eating this, definitely get an app as well. But for lunch, this was the perfect size. The beef was fall apart tender without being mushy. Gravy was thick and a bit sweet. I could have used a bit more potatoes but the soda bread helped sop up the gravy just fine. Definitely left sated without being stuffed which is a very good thing at a theme park! Definitely recommend the place. I saw another table get wings, burger, and rueben. I'll tell you what, that rueben looked amazing (as did the others).

Yelp
I can never leave Universal without visiting here. I'm a sucker for Shepherd's pie and they have a good one. Super filling after a day of day drinking and hits the spot to make you feel warm and cozy. The service is always great and meals come out quickly. I love the free bread and apple butter - it's a comfort food from up north and always heals a tired soul. The drinks are great, the live music is a great touch, and it's a nice stop inside when the weather is extra steamy.

Yelp
Our favorite spot to get drinks at Universal! Located not too far inside and especially earlier in the morning the bar is not too busy. The bathrooms are super clean and I loved their espresso martinis! We did a round of drinks in the morning and shared the gravy loaded chips to get us through the day. Service is great, the drinks are good, the food is good. Great place to relax and chill and cool down from the park. They have the TVs and sports going on too if you're trying to keep up.

Yelp
We purchased the Mardi Gras ride and dine for four. We arrived at the restaurant MORE than two hours before needing to be to the float check in. The restaurant was not full and there were many servers who didn't appear to be busy. For whatever reason, it took them 45 minutes to seat us (despite reservations) and another 30 for a server to attend to us. We expressed concern about time and were, literally shrugged off by the server. She LITERALLY shrugged her shoulders. We had a charcuterie board with a few pieces of meat and cheese (sad), two orders of fish and chips (the portions ware very small for the high price but the fish itself was good) Shepards pie (note it is beef, so not authentic) again a very small portion and a bit watery, potato leek soup (ok) with bangers and mash (not good at all, tasted microwaved). Our entrees all came out at different times, which is unacceptable to people who want to wait for everyone to have their food before beginning to eat. Upon arrival the fries with the fish were ice cold. We told the server and she rolled her eyes and started to take the two plates. We stopped her because then the other's food would be cold. We asked- can't you just bring new fries? She said yeah, but never did so the fries went uneaten. By the time everyone was FINALLY served (50+ minutes after ordering) we were going to be late to check in so we had to forgo the INCLUDED dessert. So that's $50 down the drain. Sad because we were all still hungry after the meal! Had the tip not been included, it would not have been our usual 20+%. We had to race to the check in and barely made it! We've been to Finnegans before and had decent meals, but in the future we will stick to the bar, their drinks are always well made by fabulous bartenders who have been there Forever!

Yelp
Great pitstop for a pint and to cool off. The food was fantastic, highly recommend the pretzel with beer cheese. Friendly atmosphere and service!

Yelp
I'd read such amazing things about their vegan shepherds pie online and was so excited to try it!! This is my boyfriend's favorite restaurant (non-vegan) so I was hoping I'd love it so we could go back again and again. The meal came out so hot- and the first bite was a big chunk of impossible meat, which was tasty, but bland. We had to flag our server down to ask for a bottle of hot sauce. As I continued to eat, there weren't any other pieces of the impossible meat- it was just plain mashed potatoes with vegetables.. even the hot sauce didn't make it tasty. Although my boyfriend's food was great (charcuterie board and beef stew), our server never came by to check on us until they brought the bill. We always stop by the bar for drinks on our park days, and even the bartender asked how our food was.. I already told Universal but just a warning to other vegans...

Yelp
Overall a great experience at Finnegan's at Universal! Great service from the staff, they were attentive and sparking conversation with us about our day at the park. From the Chicken Stingers to the Shepherd's Pie, you could tell it was all fresh. The Shepherd's Pie was warm, comforting, and full of flavor. The food was just as great, definitely a hidden gem amongst the rides and other areas of the park.

Yelp
Perfect place to stop when we had a soccer game to watch while at the parks (gotta support the USWNT!). Service was fantastic. Food was great. Definitely a fun stop especially if you're wanting to catch a game on tv at the park.

Yelp
My wife and I had lunch here today. We love splitting the fish and chips, today we decided to get the chocolate ice cream as a treat as well. Tara our server was fantastic, she wished my wife a Happy Birthday and was fast and friendly. Great job, highly recommend. I would like to make a suggestion for the ball caps, it would be great if they had the metal snap adjusting strap on the back versus the Velcro or plastic snap. I would definitely buy one!

Yelp
My friend and I got seated right away since we arrived as soon as they opened on a busy Saturday morning. We split a Guinness beef stew and Riley's wings w/ buffalo sauce on the side & ranch. The wings were crispy and moist which made me glad we got the sauce on the side for dipping instead. They were salty and served with a side of freshly cut celery. The stew was thick and savory but the beef was pretty tough for something that was supposed braised for hours. I liked the piped mashed potatoes since it was smooth and creamy. Overall, we had a good experience but found the portions to be on the smaller side. This should probably be expected since it is inside of an amusement park. We had a great waitress in this well represented Irish pub. Would come again for this and to try something else from their menu like the Shepard pie!

Yelp
Pros: I love that this place is one of the restaurants you can stay at when you do the Stay and Scream for Halloween Horror Nights. We've done that three years in a row now, and it's probably the new tradition for us. I'm so happy about that, because the food is very good! We've ordered many different things, and nothing has ever been bad. Service has always been good. Universal team members are always A+ The ambiance is always nice at theme park restaurants, too. Very Irish-ish. Cons: I would say that it's pricey, but all theme park restaurants are pricey. That's just the way of the world. Tips: Try the wings. They're surprisingly good. And if you're gonna Stay and Scream, get here in a hurry. The seats do fill up with people who will not move until the event starts.

Yelp

Yelp
Food was fabulous! Caramel apple bread pudding is a must. Our server was friendly and checked on us frequently. Definitely would recommend.

Yelp
Salma took excellent care of us for our Universal lunchtime pit stop. We all shared the fish and chips, Reuben sandwich, and salmon BLT, along with an order of soda bread and some cider. It was wonderful and we were very satisfied! Definitely the best in park meal we've had.
google avatar

Yelp
The inside looked much bigger than it did from the outside! There were several tv's playing sports and two main dining areas separated by a partition. The staff was very friendly and seated us right away. The food came out very quickly, as well. The meat and cheese board didn't have quite as much meat as we had expected but it all tasted really good. The beet salad tasted fresh and light and was surprisingly good, as well. Definitely a very good appetizer to try and place to relax when walking in Universal!

Yelp
This is one of my FAVORITE spots to eat in Universal, and every time we visit we have to stop in. The portions are fairly sized - We got Bangers and Mash, Sheperds Pie and the Guinness Stew - they used to bring bread at the beginning but we did not get any this time. Also got loaded chips with Corned Beef to start but it came out with the meal. Full service bar and often has live music - so it's fairly loud but always a good time.

Yelp
Inside of a theme park:. This is a great spot to relax, have a cold drink and a hot, tasty meal! Mid day in April... My wife and I were sat immediately. Waitress was friendly and knowledgeable about the food. The motif is an open air Irish pub with a classic Irish menu such as bangers n mash, pretzels with beer cheese, boxties, corned beef with cabbage, etc. We started with the pretzel app. It came out quickly and was tasty. I followed that with corned beef n cabbage with sauerkraut. Very good. The misses had shrimp boxtie with scallions. It was excellent. I'd come to this place outside of the park for sure. Pretzel w/beer cheese: 9/10 Corned beef meal: 8/10 Shrimp boxtie:. 10/10 (yep) Above my expectations

Yelp
One of our favorite places to eat in universal studios. Food is always great and so is the service. Feels like a local pub with live music and a great bar too.

Yelp
Finnegan's is a staple when you come to Universal Studios. Whether you're just visiting the bar (Woo, Jan!), or sitting down to eat, this place is great! They go above and beyond ensuring that everything is to your liking. Things to eat: Potato & onion webb, chicken stingers, potato & leek soup, beef stew, and the Newcastle Irish chicken (yesss!!!). Things to drink: Rum neutralizer and their expresso martinis! Lot's of different scotches, bourbons, and whiskey.

Yelp
So a relatively new tradition I have for my Halloween Horror Nights jaunt is to come here beforehand and have a nice meal for the Stay and Scream or whatever it's called, before getting let loose into the event. We got in, got a seat, and chugged water for the long night ahead. While doing that, we looked at the menu, and ordered. I had the Irish Fish & Chips (North Atlantic fresh cod fish in ale batter with wedge fries. Served with a side of malt vinegar and tartar sauce). I like it when the restaurant actually tells you what kind of fish you're eating. I would hate to think I'd have fried tilapia with my chips. This cod was Coated in heavy batter. It wasn't too oily or anything, but there is a lot of breading. Some people like that, some people don't. I was fine with this, because enough ketchup can make anything good. Alsooo, the chips are pretty good here. They're small, so you get an excellent fried outside-to-potato inside ratio. Big fan. I also got to sample the classic Reuben (Tender corned beef, fresh shaved cabbage, Thousand Island dressing, pickle, Swiss cheese grilled on fresh marble rye). This was just a good sandwich. Tender and juicy beef, crispy fresh cabbage, the tang of the dressing, and the ooey gooey cheese that tied it all together. I was a big fan. Overall, this is a nice place to eat. If you're in the park, you could come here, not overpay too much, and have a nice meal.

Jess F.

Yelp
Definitely a hidden gem. I've always stopped here for drinks, but finally got a chance to have a meal. We were not disappointed!

Yelp
First impression was a great one! We had reservations but showed up early. They cleared a table for us and we received VIP treatment from that point on. Jenn, our server provided outstanding service, always checking on us to be sure everything was good. The Irish one-man band was excellent too. He played several instruments and continually took requests. The overall atmosphere feels like a real Irish Pub (although, I have to admit, I've never been to a pub in Ireland). There's a wide array of Irish whiskey and beer available. I had a Tulamore Due on the rocks, which went down smooth. I loved my fish and chips. The fish was thick cod, fried perfectly, and very tender. The batter was not too salty. I liked the style of chips too. They were the small wedge fries, reminiscent of KFC. Food came out fairly quick too, considering how busy it was. For a theme park restaurant, the experience was top notch.

Yelp
Finnegan's is always a good time. Solid food. Solid drinks. Amazing service. Can't wait to go back.

Monty D.

Yelp
I'm sorry to have to give this even one star. Food was mediocre at best. Shepherds Pie made with beef, not lamb. Faux Irish! A watery mess. 20 minutes to get a drink and almost an hour waiting for the food, which was cold when served. Add the fact that it was all overpriced and they force an 18% gratuity on you, and there you have it! TIP ..."TO INSURE PROMPTNESS! " A 5% tip would have been too much and I am a big tipper when it is deserved! In a nutshell, the place sucks! They charge you $200 to get into the park and then offer you a crappy dining experience like this!!! Never again!
google avatar

Tonya J.

Yelp
Looking for good food, live music and a break away from the park crowds with your family? Stop at Finnegan's. Everything was tasty served hot. Our waitress Carol was fun and extremely attentive. The live music was a great perk. The musician playing on 08/19 was extremely talented and was killing it the entire time we were there. Thanks for the great experience.

Yelp
Finnegan's is an Irish bar and the ambiance is perfect for that. Service by Sarah was exceptional. She helped us greatly as we were short on time. I recommend the Sheppard's pie, beef stew and Reuben. All very good. And of course, the Irish beers are on tap and reasonably priced for a restaurant in the theme park.
google avatar

Hieu L.

Yelp
Stepped away from the madness of HHN. It was a really long wait for a not so busy night. Not sure if restricting due to Covid or understaff. After about 45 min- 1 hour wait was seated. Service was friendly and food came out pretty quickly. Originally came in for a hearty meal. Out of all the restaurants we chose this one. The Leaky Caldron had very similar options but I really was eyeing the pork shoulder. The pork shoulder was juicy but a lot less meat than had anticipated. Overall dish was good!
google avatar

Chase C.

Yelp
As far as park food goes this was one of the better experiences! The beverages are tasty and the food even more. Grilled Flounder 8/10 Sandwich 8/10 Fries 8/10
google avatar

Rachel G.

Yelp
Three words: Irish Loaded Fries! My boyfriend and I have annuals here but we've never actually ate here before. Only grab and go drinks to walk around the park. Yesterday, we decided to actually sit down and grab a bite to eat. We were recommended the Irish Loaded Fries, paired with Jameson on the rocks and a half and half on tap. The fries came out in a timely manner and it was piping hot. Steak fries, green onion, bacon, corned beef and ranch. It was so delicious! My boyfriend and I were fighting with our forks who gets each bite. Our bartender, Sarah was wonderful and worked up a nice conversation with us. Now we know to always have a seat at the bar!
google avatar

Yelp
I typically don't have high expectations when it comes to theme park dining but the food served is definitely above average. I had ordered the Reuben, I wanted something between not a salad and not bowl of mash potatoes, it was a great choice. It was subtle in flavor but was still good and had a cabbage/pickle slaw instead of the typical sauerkraut I'm use to. It came with seasoned wedge fries, recommended. As for the Irish fried fish, it was lightly battered and fried to perfection. There were air pockets of thin crispiness batter enveloping a perfectly cooked and flaky cod. Service was good but slow, however the fish and chips alone would have me coming back again.
google avatar

Yelp
I believe my server's name was Kristen! She was so nice and made excellent recommendations when I told her I was feeling a little motion sick. I felt 100% again after ordering everything she suggested. Thank you so much Kristen!

Yelp
Finnegan's is a must for us any time we're at Universal Studios. The service is always good and the drinks always pack a punch, which makes the sometimes-long wait totally worth it. My favorite food item is the Finnegan's Potato & Onion Webb which is an appetizer consisting of thinly sliced potatoes and onions, hand dipped in beer batter, and fried until golden brown. Now, here's the thing...I hate onions. I can only eat onions when very crispy all the way through. If there's any softness or sliminess at all (such as in onion rings), I can't do it. Thankfully, the onions in the Potato & Onion Webb are super thin and crispy all the way through. I love it! It's definitely a must-try!
google avatar

Yelp
Still minimum 4 star Had Irish music and great fun good service I still don't give full 5 star but do have to correct my prior review as it is a fun pub

T J.

Yelp
This is a great spot to stop in and have lunch. It's in a great location. The food is decent and the staff is very helpful. The fries/chips definitely need some help though. They were some of the must plain, tasteless, overcooked fries/chips I have ever had. Nobody in our party of 12 cared for them. I'd order a different side next time. Everything else was very good, including all the appetizers.

Joanie L.

Yelp
Long wait for food, small portions for price. Watched lots of employees standing around.

Yelp
Great place to go love their boiled shrimp There onion rings are amazing Fun times had at Finnegans

Yelp
Great service, hot and fresh food. Our server was fantastic. Very nice and offered wonderful suggestions. Came back to offer refills several times. Appetizers were a great start. The soda bread with apple butter and butter was fantastic. The shredded onions and beer cheese were a pleasant start and very flavorful. We chose Reuben and Fish and Chips for meals. Both were delicious and large enough portions to share. Would highly recommend.
google avatar

Ashley M.

Yelp
I was going to choose a safe option of fish and chips, but I wanted to choose something different and I'm so glad that I did! I asked my waiter about the Country Cork Corned Beef and they reassured me that the beef is well done but it just looks that way because of how it's prepared. I'm glad that they had told me that beforehand. Overall I enjoyed my meal and definitely recommend it! I also recommend eating here if you were planning to eat at the Leaky Cauldron because they have many of the same foods from there and a much shorter wait time (granted we went at 11:45am).
google avatar

INDIA O.

Yelp
This place gets 3 stars because our server went above and beyond to make us feel welcomed. The food here is not all that. Its actually super expensive and portions are small. Its not a place I would visit when I go back to Universal. FYI it doesn't taste like authentic Irish
google avatar

James A.

Yelp
A hidden gem of Universal. But ignore the rest of this review because I don't want this spot becoming overcrowded... Seriously, it's a nice little retreat in the middle of the park. Perfect if you're looking to escape the heat and sit down for a while, as opposed to waiting in line at a quick service stand. The ambiance is nice and reminiscent of an Irish pub, complete with a full service bar that knows how to deliver drinks (order the Guinness, it's poured absolutely perfectly). The food is also very good. The Irish soda bread for the table was a liiiittle different than what you might be used to, but still delicious. And the fish and chips were great, featuring 3 fair sized pieces of cod and plenty of fries. You can also just walk up to the bar if you prefer a drink to go, but I would definitely recommend checking this place out for lunch or dinner.

Yelp
We started w drinks at the bar, which were great! Bartender was on point w mixing exactly what we wanted. Waitress was attentive and made for an overall good experience. Appetizers and meals were hot and yummy. Definitely recommend.
