Wow, what a place. |We was upgraded for our anniversary. It didn’t disappoint! |Best city hotel we’ve been to. |Hotel staff was lovely, bar staff was also very friendly with very very good cocktails! |Only down side was the breakfast (low quality) |If you’re going to Liverpool, book this place! 👌🏻

We thought the hotel was lovely, room a good size and really helpful and friendly receptionist. We just found pre-ordering the breakfast the night before very odd, especially as we were inbthe hotel trade quite a few years ago. I think to decide whether you wanted cooked or continental the night before, then when you got the breakfast you realised why it had been pre done then heated in the microwave. The so called chef was not very friendly quite off hand especially when I said I ordered tea when we ordered the night before. We liked the hotel but won't be returning.

We booked to stay at the hotel which was stunning, amazing room very generous in size and had everything we needed. We visited the bar and the mixologist Danilo (Italian Bar Man) certainly knows how to make a great cocktail. Great vibe in the bar and lovely decor. We will definately come back and try some other cocktails!

Had an overnight stay here, beautiful spacious room, hotel spotlessly clean throughout, had breakfast in our room which was lovely. Breakfast was plentiful and good quality. Lovely friendly staff. Wouldn't hesitate in staying here again.

Only there for 1 night but loved it. We stayed in room 103. It’s a huge suite room with loads of space. Well furnished, subtly lighted and comfortable. The staff are all friendly especially the night porter. What a character he is. I wish I’d taken a photo to back this review up with Will I go back? 100% yes

Stayed in a mini suite, one night. Great location, very nice staff, huge room, nice bathroom. Checkin from 3pm. Room was quiet despite street outside, and provided TCMF as well as 2 bottles water and a fan. Breakfast could be ordered in advance. Bathroom was large, but shower height was only about 5.5 feet - but pressure and temperature were fine. Cleanliness only 3/5 - but bed linen clean and bed comfortable. Discounted local parking. Would return.

Fantastic hotel. The staff are friendly and helpful. The room was amazing, very large and roomy. We stayed in a queen suit (103). This room is located directly above the bar, but the noise from the bar wasn't too bad. Great location with so many bars and restaurants within a short walk. I would definitely recommend and we will be back. P.S. the breakfast was amazing 👍🏻

The location of the hotel is great, the breakfast was lovely and the added perk of room service. However the room has no plug sockets, and the fan on arrival was broken. Air con not in use as it had been decommissioned. However all these things could be overlooked except when we asked when the bar would shut. The lady on check in said the night receptionist would serve us whenever we wanted as they were there all night. When we came back to the hotel about 10.30, the guy on reception said the bar closed at 9pm, so clearly either communication is poor or the guy couldn’t be bothered. When I explained what the lady said, he just kept saying the bar closed at 9pm. The room was lovely and a large size but get your staff on the same page and give the customer the same message.

Yelp
If you are looking for a bar or restaurant with class and style then look no further. Merchants 62 is chilled and unpretentious. Located at the top end of Lord Street, the building has a luxurious feel to it with large silver Tom Dixon special edition lighting features over the main bar. Alistair was our friendly bar tender who was chatty and helpful. Cocktail hour lasts a lot longer than 60 minutes, its from 5-9pm on weekdays during which time cocktails are just £4. Bargain. The food is excellent and good value if you take advantage of the early evening specials between 5 and 7pm. Choose from 2 courses for £9.95 or 3 courses with wine for £14.95. Now that's not much more than going large on a Big Mac Meal with a side or two. A great place to take someone special out on a first date. Other features include: -Free Wifi ...this is why I've given 5 stars! -Free refills on tea and coffee - goes well with the wifi ..thank you! -Free newspapers ...quality! -No queues -Comfortable seating

Yelp
This place has got excellence written all over it! A friend's parent recently stayed here and I was invited to join them all for a meal, and what a great meal it was. But first, the rooms! The rooms in this hotel are all described as suites, and they are absolutely fantastic. Huge flat screen TV's, big double beds,.. even bath robes for your post shower relax! Everything was immaculate and the views of the city were fantastic! Then there was the restaurant! The decor was fantastic, set inside stunning Victorian architecture, and the food was great! We paid £15 a head for three courses and a glass of wine. I had Mackerel and Beetroot Salad to start, followed by grilled Sea bass and Eton Mess, it was all fantastic. The wine was great and the service was excellent! I would fully recommend this place to anyone staying in the city, or looking for a good meal in town!

Yelp
I was impressed when this place was previously Room, a very stylish cocktail bar, so I was pleased when the venue changed hands and not only retained this up market approach but good quality drinks too. Merchants is the bar/restaurant appendage to 62 Castle Street Hotel but is open to all for food and drinks. We just stepped in for a couple of cocktails and were pleased with the service - confident and chatty barman without being the usual smug type that will try out his flaring techniques at any opportunity - and the qualiy of drinks available - a Mai Tai and Bramble were perfect but you will expect so at £7 a pop. However there is apparently a daily cocktail 'hour' between 5-9 daily.

Yelp
Looking for the right balance between affordable and luxurious when booking a hotel can sometimes feel impossible, and I thought we'd found it in 62 Castle Street. A short distance from Lime Street Station and only 5 minutes around the corner from 'the shops', it's a great location if you want to be central. The exterior is unassuming, leading you into a lovely reception area - the kind where the receptionist is at a desk rather than a form of large podium, with lots of high backed leather chairs and the radio playing quietly in the background. Check in was simple, and we took the lift to our room. The room itself was super impressive, with huge windows, and a small step down to the 'lounge' area from 'the bedroom'. Nice bath toiletries were provided, and a tray of coffee/tea/hot chocolate and some oaty biscuits. The bedding was the kind that you never want to get out of, and large statement mirror for when you're getting ready. Unfortunately, we also found a number of flaws in the experience, hence the three stars. It was a super dark room (as in no main lights, leading us to flicking basically all the switches to try and discover what controlled what), and really noisy from both the hallway and room next door. The sink felt really low, and we were both taller than the showerhead, which was just frustrating. Free wifi is available, but was inconsistent throughout the stay. Doors are locked after 10.30pm, but there's always someone on duty to let guests in, plus a phone number on the door if you can't see anyone at the reception desk. Interesting to find in a city centre hotel, and good to know that they're conscious of safety. With so many hotel options in the city, I think we'll be trying somewhere else for our next visit.

Yelp
When you get voted as one of the top 100 finest places to stay in the UK by The Sunday Times Travel Magazine, you must be doing something right. The location is fantastic and very central, just moments away from both the business district and Liverpool's vibrant nightlife. 62 Castle St is still a relaxing retreat despite its bustling location. You will find it is a rather fine blend of opulent decor and remarkable service from top notch staff. One of my boutique hotel heaven address' is 62 castle street. I am a bit bamboozled by the fact they couldn't come up with a more clever name but hey this is a minor complaint. With it being a boutique hotel unfortunately a night here isn't the cheapest of options. On a weekday it is likely to set you back around £80 with weekend night calls setting you back upto £115 at least depending on the room. Now for most boutique hotels the restaurant and cocktail bar offerings are either non existent or somewhat bygone conclusions. Not the case with this abode humble though...nie nie nie (no, no , no in polish) Merchant's bar and restaurant is the in house offering, and it does not dissappoint. Very much a favourite for private parties the decor is in line with the opulence of the hotel. You will not be dissappointed with the food although I must say it is mainly utilized by the guests. Still it is great to have the option to dine and drink at the hotel for those who wish not to leave the confines of the hotel. Another great hospitality jewel in Liverpool's hospitality crown...

Yelp
Great bar focusing on cocktails. Vibrant atmosphere and friendly, helpful bar staff.
