Our server was kind and wonderful to work with, I would have given higher stars but our food took an extra long time to arrive, party of two and we were told it wasn't a busy night. Each item we ordered was slightly over cooked. The server did ask how things were, we just did not feel it was to the point we needed to complain. The oyster appetizer had some inedible pieces. I can say thats never happened in a restaurant before. I would say the atmosphere was on the louder side but still enjoyable.

Excellent time with my Family on a busy weekend at Franks. We were seated quickly for lunch. The hostess and servers were friendly professionals, and food was high quality. The atmosphere was great, right in a really nice waterfront location of Georgetown. You can also park a boat right at the public dock out front and you are literally steps away from a nice meal. Update, on another visit, we sat outside on the back patio, super nice once again, great food and service.

We could tell lots of amazing moments and memories lived at Frank‘s! Let’s say so, the place, the staff, Ms Mary, our server, the menu we got and the attention to details, perfect! Being Swiss, we know about hospitality and passion on quality! Most impressed I really was, seeing our skilled server even changing the cooler as a whole to keep the excellent rosé Aix-en-Provence bouteille nicely chilled! The dishes and the sweet surprise getting a tasty dessert for my wife’s birthday! The perfect day! No second first impression! They did it! A special thanx to the amazing kitchen team, creating a culinary trip to paradise!

We love Franks in Pawleys Island and were excited to try Franks on Front in Georgetown. It was very disappointing. The place does not take reservations, which is fine. But with many tables open we were seated in the kitchen. Very noisy. More importantly though, the food was not up to Franks standards. There were 4 of us dining, with 3 subpar entrees. Veal short ribs with pappardelle was too salty to eat and not much meat, the catch of the day Vera Cruz was dry and bland, the chicken and pasta was bland and not edible. Only the lamb chops was considered a good choice. The four of us eat out regularly, and two pushed the entree aside and did not eat it. Yes, beautiful space and outdoor dining spot. But, wake up Franks. This will only take you so far. Too much money for bad food will eventually ruin your reputation.

I absolutely loved my lunch here. I got a half portion of the spinach salad and the crab cakes from the small plates. Both were high quality and flavorful. The view of the water from the outside seating in the back was great but the inside was very nice too. Service was excellent. I highly recommend this restaurant!

Google
Met the chef outside! Several places we had been shopping in recommended going here so we went! Was told the frozen Gin & Tonic and the deviled eggs were life changing and they were! Also ordered the New England Clam Chowder. There's a secret ingredient in the chowder that you must taste for yourself. And finally the burger was amazing. This is high quality foodie territory here and if you are in the area, a must visit!

Wonderful dinner at GT Franks! The service was excellent. Staff were well trained, professional, and attentive. Food was amazing. Steaks were so good you didn't need any sauce. My friend's grouper was a little overcooked but the seasoning was awesome. Ambience in the rear was fantastic. The only minor issue is the rear passageway to the back porch where you must go past the cooking area and servers. Overall, an excellent first visit. Thank goodness to finally have a GREAT restaurant in GT!

Google
Oh my goodness! This restaurant was fabulous in every way. Not many reviews yet because the restaurant is new to this area but all the locals know about it. We are so glad the folks at The Kiminski House recommended it to us. We are not from this area. When traveling we use Google reviews and local recommendations to find the best places to eat. We almost missed this one. Everything we ordered was well prepared and beautifully presented - pimento cheese dip, crab & beet salad, fried oysters, mussels, carrot cake, & chocolate cake. So, so delicious. The service was outstanding (thank you Jamie). The food was served quickly and it seemed like we were attended to by everyone employee in the house. The manager (Alayna) is warm and welcoming. I give my highest recommendation!

Yelp
Nov 2025 My wife and I were visiting Myrtle Beach and decided to take a drive to the small town of Georgetown, SC to look around. While exploring the shops downtown, one of the shopkeepers asked what brought us to town. When we said we were just checking things out, she recommended the Swamp Tour and even called to see if it was running. The tour was excellent and a wonderful way to see the history and beauty of Georgetown. Afterward, the tour guide suggested we try Franks on Front for lunch -- which is how we ended up there. When we arrived, there were no seats available on the porch, so we sat on the front patio. The setting was pleasant with plenty of people-watching. Our server came by for drink orders, and for starters we ordered the house-made cheese biscuits, served with butter. For lunch, my wife chose the Paneed Chicken Breast with 631 marinara, linguini, and Parmesan. I ordered the 631 Burger with bacon jam, charred onion, cheddar, lettuce, tomato, and sea salt fries. The biscuits took a little while, which I assumed meant they bake them fresh -- they were good, though I personally think they would be even better with a savory jelly or jam. The real issue came afterward: our entrées took almost 45 minutes to arrive after the biscuits were served. It seemed likely our server didn't put in the food order until after the biscuits came out. My wife eventually got up to ask about our meals because several tables around us, who arrived after we did, were getting their food, dessert, and even coffee while we sat waiting. What made it more frustrating is that our server rarely checked on us. She only came by at the end to ask if we were finished so she could bring the check, while frequently attending to the table beside us. Overall, the food was good and the restaurant itself is nice, but the service on our visit was disappointing. Based on our experience, we'd probably try a different restaurant next time we're in Georgetown.

Yelp
The food was delicious! The small plate filet, and crab patty were wonderful. The mac and cheese side was large enough to share. And the flourless chocolate cake was rich and delicious (recommend sharing this too). The bartenders were friendly and helpful. The drinks, including the frozen cocktails and strawberry spritz were amazing!

Yelp
The restaurant is in an old historic building and the usage of the space is one of the best concepts I've seen so far! We sat in the "open kitchen area" and were able to watch our food being made. While it was busy and a smidge loud, it was so intriguing to see the well oiled machine of staff that Frank's has. The food was spectacular! We had the Parmesan Baked Artichoke hearts and the Goat cheese Croquettes to start and delighted with each bite. Then our main courses were served - I had the Petite Filet with mashed potatoes and Au Poivre sauce which was absolutely fantastic. Each bite perfectly balanced and delicious. My co-worker and the special - Quail with wild rice and Brussel sprouts and after tasting h the sauce on my steak asked for another little cup for his meal which elevated the already tasty dish! To top off the night, I had Key Lime Cheesecake and he had the Carrot Cake with Rum sauce. I had to take 1/2 of my cheesecake back to the hotel because it was such a beautifully large piece - so, lunch dessert today it is! Hoping to be back in the area for work next year because I'll for sure be back!

Yelp
Amazing place! Flavorful, well-crafted dishes, super fresh seafood, and great cocktails. Our waitress was warm and full of great recommendations. We loved the quail, oysters, and fresh catch--everything was delicious!

Yelp
If you're budget conscious this restaurant is not for you. It's pricey for small portions. You're mainly paying for the vibe since the food is good, but not worth the cost. If you don't care about the price tag then it's a great restaurant! It was cozy inside and on the back porch! Good service and fun cocktails! See prices and portion sizes before going.

Yelp
Everything on the menu is outstanding. I recommend sitting out back and watching the Sun go down. I eaten the oysters multiple times, always my favorite on the strand, they dont overbread them so your unable to taste the oysters, Franks on front, doesnt make them that way, Lightly breaded, and briny. The Artichoke dip was very good, the Curried Shrimp was outstanding, the Crab Cake over grits, best I've had in ages, and dont get me started on the flourless Chocolate Torte, Oh my Lord, complete decadence. Very rich, split with someone else. 10/10 stars

Yelp
Amazing restaurant. Great service , great food , great vibe and great place all around. You can sit on the sidewalk and enjoy the people of Front Street, inside is a beautiful space with exposed brick and a beautiful bar or the back patio with its amazing views of the harbor. This place is hard to beat! You must start with the meatballs and save room for the flourless chocolate cake.

Yelp
This restaurant was just perfect! I had such a delicious lunch with a beautiful river view. I couldn't decide between the small plate crab cakes or the spinach salad but luckily, I was able to order a half portion of the salad. It was fresh and delicious and the pickled onions plus the bacon and bleu cheese gave it the kind of interesting and salty flavors that I love in a salad. I'd definitely reorder this. The crab cakes were so good and had lots of meat. They were served on top of buttery, creamy grits that I'm already craving again! The mustard sauce wasn't overpowering and it was a delicious dish. Service was also excellent. This was one of the best meals I've had in a while. There are a lot of restaurants in the area but I'd likely return here over trying somewhere new because it was so good. I saw several people ordering burgers that looked great. I'd also like to try the crab Mac and cheese! They also had a roasted vegetable plate entree which sounded tasty if you didn't feel like eating meat or seafood but wanted something more than a salad. This was a charming spot, inside and out with quality food and great flavors.

Yelp
Wow! Another fabulous meal at Franks on Front! Fried oysters appetizer, creamy spinach soup (don't hate), pork chop, crab cake, filet and amazing service! The restaurant was very busy and all of the employees were friendly. Can't wait to go back!

Yelp
We enjoyed a beautiful day having lunch at 631 Front St. AKA - Franks in Front. The butternut squash is so good and it's that time of year to enjoy it again. I also enjoyed the seared tuna noodle salad and my other half enjoys the crab beat salad. Franks has grown to accommodate more customers but today a lunch crowd intended to the front sidewalk. The service and food is always great. Five stars and highly recommend.

Yelp
Great fairly new restaurant in Georgetown by same owners as Franks in Pawley's Island.... Waiter told us they have been open for about 2 months. Nice little place right on the water. It has a nice back porch overlooking the Sampit River. I'd give it 4.5 stars for ambience. We stopped in for lunch on a Saturday and the place was pretty busy. From the hostess to the waiter, to the busboy and runners, everyone was super polite and friendly! Our waiter Max was especially helpful and provided excellent service!! 5.0 stars for service. We had the garlic shrimp small plate as an appetizer and two salads for lunch. Wife had the Mediterranean, I had the chopped salad. We both added fried oysters. Salads were excellent! 5 stars for lunch!!! We'll definitely have to go back to try dinner.

Gail B.

Yelp
Hands down one of the very best meals I've ever had! The menu selections were fantastic! The option for a small plate suited us well! All on point with flavor, variety and service! We had a great view of the river and decor was fun and chic! We will be back with friends in tow!

Yelp
My wife and I had dinner here. The food, atmosphere and service where outstanding. The biscuits were to die for as was the Veggie Plate. I highly recommend this restaurant. You can sit inside or outside and they both have a great vibe!

Yelp
Food, Drinks, Service and Ambiance were all great. We were staying at the George on Front Street and our first night in Georgetown. We were looking for a place we could walk to without the need of driving. We had a great meal and dining experience. Thanks to all the service staff.

Yelp
4-stars! Easy to access location, beautiful bar and interior! The mocktails and cocktails were so good! The beer was ice cold- this seems be rare anywhere around here. The presentation and taste of the food were perfect! The service, top-notch! John was our server and had great insight and recommendations. The prices were fair! The bathrooms were tidy and appeared clean. The ambiance was pleasant and atmosphere became more exciting and fun as the eve progressed! The only negative part of the entire experience was a phone call to the location, prior to going there. We had a few questions and reached out via phone call. The individual who answered appeared to have minimal social skills or is emotionally immature and should not be answering the phone. They were actually not forthcoming at all with information in regards to our questions. They seemed to be very annoyed about whether this location offered call-ahead and/or reservations and they hung up before we were finished asking an additional question.

Yelp
Was passing through Georgetown and randomly selected this restaurant. What a wonderful fine! Ambiance is formal with white tablecloths but has a casual feel. It was very busy at midday on a Saturday, but we were seated quickly. Our server provided excellent service. We enjoyed the conch fritters, the spinach salad and the special of the day - small plate of grouper on grits. We both thoroughly enjoyed our meals. So nice to have a good new restaurant in Georgetown!

Ray W.

Yelp
Fun place to go with good food and service. Does not take reservations but you can put your name in the list and go to the bar behind the George. They will call you when your table is ready.

Yelp
I had a glass of wine. Fried oysters for an appetizer Caesar salad with anchovy The sea Bass special Also a couple of bits os the steak Tips special off my wife's plate Something in there gave me food poisoning. I have never been so sick.

Yelp
Great new addition to the dining scene in Georgetown. Over several visits I've tried the pimento cheese, the fried oysters, the deviled eggs and the fresh catch ( which was flounder the day we dined) and all were exceptional. The cocktails are fun and the space is as charming as its young, albeit very restaurant savvy, owners.

Yelp
Food, service and atmosphere were fabulous! Four of us were visiting Georgetown from Southport NC. We now know why the reputation of Frank's on Front is so good! The Salmon was amazing, the crab cakes perfect and the appetizers were delicious. Great wine choices, too. Perfect for these visiting foodies. The service was outstanding, too!

Jack B.

Yelp
I had been wanting to try Franks in Front since they opened and am glad I did. The fried oyster appetizer was excellent as were the garlic shrimp and petit fillet entrees. The service was attentive and spot on.

Mindy F.

Yelp
Well, what a place. We had a delicious meal, charming atmosphere, and phenomenal service. Kaitlynn and Evan were the top of the top of bartenders and quite entertaining. Sung and LaMar showed their fun spirited Clemson vs Texas personalities. Elizabeth, we have to thank for your recommendations on future stays. We will be back and highly recommend for the 5star meal and cocktails. A total hometown feel with pure southern charm. a superb meal and experience.

Esther D.

Yelp
631 is located in a beautifully restored historic building and has a great atmoshere! It has a covered (heated) patio in the back by the river/marina where we had our diner. We were welcomed warmly and all of the staff were very friendly and knowledgeable. We enjoyed our well made cocktails and loved our dinner. We ordered the quail (hard to find these days) and the petit filets were wonderful. We also had a chopped salad and the tuna poke with avocado and soy was delicious. We love this place, casual and fun and really good food!

Betts N.

Yelp
Food is good, as well as service. The ambience in the bar is special; they have comfortable bar seating!

R S.

Yelp
I got a shrimp dish with capers and artichoke. It was really a soup. The shrimp was overcooked and tasteless and it had a very sour taste. We were seated right by the kitchen so it was very loud and busy. Overall, it was not a pleasant experience.
