Lincoln Avenue

OMG. My family and I are huge Home Alone Fans. I have been wanting to come here for years. I finally stopped being lazy and took the ride out to Winnekta. This is a must see attraction and worth the drive. I turned the corner and there were lots of people standing in front of the house taking pics. I met a few people from other cities and even even other countries. This was just a dream come true to stand in front of the famous Home Alone House. You can also see the other houses that were filmed in the movie. Old Man Marley's house next door and The Murphy's house which is right across the street. The neighborhood is so beautiful. Just standing there felt so unreal. It Instantly gave me flashbacks from some of the movie scenes.

We had an adventure today me and my daughter Victoria we decided to stop by the home alone house. We weren't the only ones so if you want to get a photo opt in you just have to be patient. You can park on the street you can't get really close to the house because there's a fence. We had a lot of fun and then we went into town and got coffee from a local shop and just walked around for a bit.

It's the freaking Home Alone House! Not much more to say! I facetimed my kids while I was out in front of it and they couldn't believe it! They were stoked. Super posh neighborhood!

This house is a must visit! If you're a home alone fan, why not come and visit the house that inspired the movie?! I cannot believe I lived 30 mins from this house and I just now came to visit it.. lol I didn't even know it had a Yelp check in lol . We came here because my bestie was visiting, and said hey let's go see the home alone house and drive that neighborhood! It's so cool honestly, so pretty! And it's back on the market! 5.2 million can get you this beautiful home! And it's all remodeled! Yasss!! So you can see the front of the house and take pics , that's all, you cannot tour the house, it's not allowed unfortunately and I'm sure the neighbors and even people that have lived here are tired of it.. so drive there and find a safe parking and go take your pics and leave lol It's a neighborhood so pls be respectful and excited at the same time.. it's possible , I did it lol and I have an internal microphone for a voice lol There's no tickets to tour the house , it's just a homealone lovers home you get to see up close, well as close as you're allowed lol. You literally see the house from the outside and take pics , that's all. But overall in awe for that homealone house! And movie! That's all for now .. buh bye

For those of you that may have forgot, the movie, Home Alone, was filmed in 1990.It is located in Winnetka, a small town, just outside of Chicago. I finally got the visit the house that it was filmed in and it still looks the same as it looked back 30 years ago. It was decorated for Christmas and had white artificial candels in the window. The house is located in a semi high end neighborhood right outside of a small business district. With that being said, parking here to get out and take a closer look and get some photos is very easy. You can park along the street. Just keep in mind that you are not on a movie set and are in a real neighborhood, so be respectful of the residents. I took public transit to get here which consisted of a train, a couple of buses and a short walk. It was very easy to navigate though. There was a constant flow of people coming through during my visit, so I would suggested getting your pictures and going, so that others may do the same. Some people were camping out there like they were making a pilgramge. I visited at night, and here is a little tip. Try to stay away from the front of the drive way. There is a bright motion activated light that comes on if you walk by. It is very bright and shines right in your face. It also messes up any photos you may take. It goes off after about 3 to 5 minutes. This is a nice thing to see, especially for Home Alone lovers. You can only see the outside, which is ok with me. I knew that going in. It would have been nice to be able to go in through. I am not sure if someone lives there, but there is someone obviously maintaining the home and they are doing a great job. I am glad I was able to check off this bucket list item. This is not a very long stop. I was there about 5 minutes, so, if you do plan on visiting here, I recommend making this part of a larger itinerary to maximize your trip.

Getting closer to the holidays, so it's now a good time to check out this house that was in a movie. Home Alone used the exterior of this one. It's on a residential street in Winnetka. About all to do here is just look at it and take pictures to be honest. There's not that much else but it's a pretty good side trip. All it is is a house. It's actually occupied. There's nothing around here saying it's here, so finding it's mostly left up to you. It's on Lincoln Avenue. This is a residential street, so it's not meant to be a tourist attraction really. One interesting thing is a lot of the houses on this street are more modest. This one is impressive, but most of the other houses are fairly pedestrian. Of course all the houses are expensive. This is a nice suburb. Check it out but you have to walk a bit. It's best to cross the Pine Street bridge to get to Lincoln Avenue, then turn left. The house is on the east side up just a ways.

Super fun day trip from Milwaukee! Lots of people visiting, but plenty of room for everyone to take photos. Would be cool to visit at night when the Christmas lights are shining. Street was blocked off, but there is plenty of parking nearby. Local police were monitoring the traffic. The little downtown is very cute and neighborhood is lovely!

It's the number one spot to visit when you are in Winnetka, according to my cousin, then the beach. We stopped by here after our afternoon tea in winnetka at the deer path inn. This was my husband's one spot to visit while we were here. It's a nice walking neighborhood. No two houses look alike here either.

This is our 3rd year visiting the Home Alone House, and it feels like every year it gets less and less lights and energy. So disappointed Needs more Christmas magic!

Since Christmas was coming up, we were watching Home Alone and realized that the settings was in Chicago, we did a little research and yes, it's true! We planned to stop by here to check it out in person. Upon arrival, we notice that this is a neighborhood, on Zillow it's worth over 1 million dollars. They have signs that says do not park in front of the house and also they have cameras too. Try to be respectful. We took several snapshots during the day and night, it looks like it but more updated than the movies. Wish we could come when it was Christmas time though. That would have been good to see. It's a very quiet neighbor. You can also see the Church from the movie too right down the street.

Whoever lives there now keeps the Christmas decor very authentic to how it looked in the movie which was nice. We went during the day. We went a few days after Christmas and took a handful of photos out front. Not too crazy with visitors thankfully. Parking is not allowed on that side of the street but no problem across. Remember this is a neighborhood, not a movie set. Be respectful!

Kind of overrated for it. It's cool but sometimes it is difficult to take photo. It's cool to visit once in a while

Me and my sister went there, of course because everyone know the home alone house from the movie, we made like 45 min from chicago to get there, and we arrived there is no sign, no memo nothing to say" this is the famous house from home alone or something". Is just a simple house, nothing special. I don't recommend it.
