78 Cafe - Nappa Cafe

What a great spot for lunch the lunch sets they have are amazing! The bake curry is something I would go back for it was so good. Also got the ice cream match Sunday highly recommended getting one of these. They have different flavours as well so depending on what you like. Really cozy spot in Nozawaonsen.

This was an excellent experience! I loved how much cat stuff there was. There were cat magazines and books and stuff, and I was looking at a phrase book with photos of cats, which was helping me with my kanji practice... The atmosphere was just absolutely lovely, and the service was nice too. I had an ontama curry and cafe latte, both of which were brilliant. The curry had a very unique flavour, and a bit of a kick without being spicy. It also came with soup, which was nice too. The coffee has a very soft texture and a taste which was the perfect middle, not too strong, not too weak. Great place, would recommend!

A delightful, heartwarming cafe in Nozawa Onsen serving some very good baked curry rice with cheese & egg. We also enjoyed their affogato. Vibrant ambiance and very courteous service. A pleasant culinary memory to take back with us to Hawaii!

Lovely Cafe. I find espresso based coffees ( latte, flat white etc) very hit and miss in Japan. So I was especially happy when the latte i ordered tasted delicious. The drip coffee, as well as the baked curry were also nice. The apple cheesecake was so-so.

The yummiest curry. They bake it with cheese and an egg and it comes out so delicious. Not something I though I would enjoy but I want to go back and have it again. Very filling. Really good value

Baked curry goodness... So good 😍🍛 Light but delicious soft onsen egg wjth pickled vegetables and rice, hojicha lattes, orange peel chocolate cake and coconut banana cake. Love the cozy interior and the staff are so nice and welcoming.

Absolutely delicious baked Japanese curry! One of the tastiest meals I’ve had in Japan! Thoughtfully decorated and very clean and cosy cafe. Cute inside and outside with lots of detail and thought. Fabulous collection of vintage Japanese toys, books and great old photos of local area. Simple small menu but would recommend coming here for lunch in Nozawa Onsen!

There was much to look at in this small cozy cafe. V cute place decorated with old toys of the owner and pictures of Nozawa back in the days - like a mini museum. Drinks options were good with several adult friendly options e.g. hot choc with alcohol).

Very homey cafe in Nozawaonsen! A little trek up the hill but worth it to build an appetite for the delicious curry and cakes! We missed the lunch window, which is from 11am to 2pm, but the "snack" were just as filling and super yummy! We ordered the daily soup (minestrone), soft onsen egg over pickled vegetables and rice, and the curry bowl. We also ordered some hot beverages like the hojicha latte and mocha. For dessert we had the orange peel chocolate cake and the coconut banana cake. Superb! Around 1500 yen per person, very affordable.
