826LA & The Mar Vista Time Travel Mart

826LA -- The Time Travel Mart is an incredibly unique and fun spot in Los Angeles. There are plenty of gifts and fun supplies that help fund the organization's community education program. There are plenty of items that harken to being in a spot out of time: BC/AD stickers, mammoth milk, and other items. I even bought a fun wallet set made from a design by a local kid. The shopkeeper was really kind and made fun conversation while I got to peek around.

Awesome store with cool stuff and an even better purpose that it is trying to serve. Thank you so much for starting and establishing such a cool concept of helping kids; We loved our visit, and bought a lot of cool items that we got to share with our niece for Christmas, could not have been better.

Not only a plain old time travel mart (🤪) but also an offer for free writing workshops for young earthlings. If only I knew how to take us back in time...

A charming and wacky little gift shop which is worth a brief stop if only for the humor and steampunk art. It is tiny but fun.

A great place for souvenirs that are unique, thoughtful, and contribute to a good cause. Proceeds go towards the writing lab behind the shop for young kids. They have fun enamel pins, books with short stories by the kids, trinkets, and toys. Things for all ages, especially if you're a little nerdy.

Fun little shop, interesting products, supports a good cause, and the shop keeper was as nice as could be. Note that it is a tiny little shop with like 7 shelves with books, bottles, and thingamabobs. Wish they had a little more and were a bigger place, but for what it is, it's pretty cool.

Ok so this 1 is only open 3 days a week compared to the Echo park is open normal 5 days I think. This 1 the theme is 1870s (I guess thats why there's no AC) I really spent too much money there but when else are you gonna find a time travel mart? Some items are similar to the Echo park location. But this 1 has real tar from the LA Brea Tar Pits. Also they have an incubator to hatch dinosaur 🦕 eggs. Buying stuff there supports thier free tutoring for kids. I bought time travel sickness 💊 pills. Last time at Echo park I bought a dinosaur egg and hatched it

An absolutely adorable storefront. It's a cute place for a date or just to check out. Their work in the community is great too, so you are supporting a great cause.

Staff has been really wonderful and my daughter really enjoys this community. There is a wonderful supervisor who unfortunately left now they seem to be a little bit more disoriented. Hopefully they'll have another person as wonderful as her coming back.

This is a very cool place for kids. They have all kinds of interesting items both for sale and I guess they also do tutoring here. A very good place to find a unique gift for the kid you know. The people that work here were very nice and accommodating. I happened to stop by during the Mar Vista art walk and checked it out.
