Man Eats 10-Egg Breakfast On Fox News

"Located in Milwaukee, this classic diner was the setting for a Fox & Friends “Breakfast With Friends” segment in which reporter Todd Piro interviewed a man eating ten sunny-side-up eggs as part of a challenge: customers who can finish the five‑pound breakfast in under an hour get the meal free. The over-the-top, protein-heavy feat—ten sunny-side-up eggs—became the focus of online reaction, with viewers questioning the preparation (sunny-side-up vs. scrambled), marveling or mocking the excess, and noting the irony of the diner challenge being used to win a free meal while the interviewee complained about government “handouts.”" - Chris Crowley

Google
A quintessential American Diner experience. Comfortable dining area with plenty of seating. Excellent food. No wait and served quickly. Four of us on a Wednesday morning. Nutella Crepes were very sweet. Oatmeal with bananas raisins and brown sugar was very good. Honey banana pancakes and Chicken Fried Steak were delicious. Only complaint is that they don't open early enough for me to visit before work. (Opens at 7 and I need to be at work then)

Tried this in the morning of Christmas Eve, had their Cafe Special which consisted of eggs, protein (I did 2 sausage links), and two generously-portioned pancakes! Food was very good, with it being a classic American diner style of dish, pancakes were fluffy and warm with a depth of “cake” flavor to the batter that makes it a good old classic pancake! Sausages were well cooked and met the benchmark, as well as the eggs being good also! My delivery order included all the needed condiments (syrup, butter even!) and was very impressed with what I got for the price!

Google
Our sever Linda ( i think) was extremely welcoming and super friendly. She was really friendly with everyone that walked in. I order the skillet with polish sausage, the food came out quick. I liked that my toast was still warm and the butter was melted. Enjoyed my dining experience immensely.

Google
This place is awesome! We went in the morning during breakfast. We decided that we wanted lunch and they let us order it! The chicken dumpling is really good. I got the t-bobe steak and it was cooked perfectly! The young lady who was serving us kept the coffee coming and always was on top of the water refills. Had a perfect breakfast date! I will be back.

Google
Everything was prepared to perfection for my tastes. I enjoyed eggs(over-medium), bacon, hash browns and a plate of their own”mini” pancakes. The butter was whipped and soft-spreadable which was a nice bonus. An excellent value for what we received! A quiet atmosphere with friendly & helpful staff!

Google
Great over easy eggs and hashbrowns with delicious sourdough toast. Wonderful local place. Highly recommend!

Google
Food was great. The service was excellent! Our waitress heard our friend loved chicken soup but not dumplings so brought him a cup with the dumplings scooped out. 🥰

Google
Not bad but not impressive either. Kind server but no personality in service, straight to buisness. Notice how cheesy scrambled eggs is just a flop of American dropped on scrambles, my kid wouldn't touch it. Center of French toasts were still raw uncooked egg. The breakfast burrito might fill up an extremly elderly fellow, but it will leave others still hungry. Maybe its a quick stop on the way to work place for locals, but there's way better diners to spend your money at if you want a nice meal with the family

Yelp
This place is hit or miss and I have been coming to this spot for breakfast for over the last 14 years when it was Johnny Vs and I have never had a lunch or dinner item. Today I was craving comfort food meatloaf with mashed potatoes and gravy and it's on the menu as a hot open face sandwich or the dinner plate so I opted for the sandwich which is a smaller portion in my mind that comes with choice of potato and a cup of soup for $12.50 so I wasn't expecting much. My carry out bag was weighty I noticed and I couldn't wait to open this sandwich. My choice of potato was mashed, duh with chicken dumpling soup. The chicken dumpling soup was slightly seasoned with Al dente dumplings but not much chicken but it was all dumplings and little broth, no skimping on the soup and let's face it we ordered dumpling soup for the dumplings. The meatloaf looked amazing with 3 thick slices the size of 1/2 pound burgers on 2 pieces of white bread and a lump of mashed potatoes smothered in brown gravy, if the sandwich is this huge what's the dinner plate like ?. The meatloaf well was diner meatloaf for the masses and not seasoned very well but nothing salt and pepper can't fix and why it's on the tables. The meatloaf it self was dense with minimal bread fillers I noticed. The brown gravy was thick and smooth. Ok overall was it as good as my meatloaf that I make, no but for diner meatloaf take out does it cure a crave absolutely. As for the 4 stars you ask well I'll tell you. $12.50 for a heaping of comfort food that didn't skimp on anything vs portion/price it's on point.

Yelp
This cafe is very unassuming from the outside. Then you walk in. We were greeted and seated immediately. Our wonderful server Diego was so attentive and answered all menu questions. My skillet was amazing. It's rare that I finish a dish. I was very happy.

Yelp
84th Cafe has the feel of a locals diner. Good food, comfortable seating and friendly staff. I had the Friday fish fry. 3 pieces with soup and coleslaw was too much for me to eat. Very generous portion. My grandson had the boneless buffalo chicken wings, which were good and crispy but way too spicy for my taste and for him to eat more than half the order with french fries. Overall if you're looking for a good meal at a good price point you will not be disappointed here.

Greg W.

Yelp
Stopped here because we were limited on time. Waitress was excellent, the food was just so-so, the fries seemed to be old and the burgers were flame broiled a little to much for our taste. We would not return, as this is the second meal that was poor at best. We alerted the waitress and there was no response, and alerted the cashier and she could have cared less. 9/18/25

Yelp
This is a nice local spot. It has the menu of one of those classic diner spots that every neighborhood should have. I didn't know the restaurant it was before so I can't comment on the change. We all ordered too much food, as you usually do at brunch. The portions are hefty and priced reasonably. Our server was attentive and sweet. She dropped a pancake on the floor and made up for it with free chocolate milk. (Not necessary but appreciated!) I went in here for brunch with my family and a couple of friends. We are big soup fans so we were happy to hear the soup du jour was one we liked--chicken dumpling. And it did not disappoint! My friend and I ordered large to-go containers after eating it with our meals. I had the meat lovers skillet without bacon, add avocado, and over easy eggs. It could use a little more flavor, but the cholula hot sauce I added helped with that. I got pancakes on the side so my son could nibble on them (he's 10 months old). He enjoyed the pancakes, but was surprisingly a bigger fan of the soup! Everyone enjoyed their food & we will be back!

Yelp
84th Street Cafe is one of my usual-go-to spots for breakfast or lunch. Their food is consistently VERY good. Portions and prices are excellent. All the folks that work there are friendly, efficient and really try to give all their customers a good experience. I like the fact that one can have fruit instead of potatoes on all meals with no up charge. Sandwiches come with both fries and a cup of soup. Speaking of the soup, their soups are house made and outstanding. They have chalk board specials every day, though I tend to just order off the menu. The location is the old venue for Johnny Vee's, from a few years back. The location has lots of windows, so natural light permeates the dining area during the day. They've recently built an outside patio for those who want to eat al fresco (when its not freezing outside). Parking is a breeze. The location is in a strip mall with a large parking lot right next to the restaurant.

Yelp
A true diner experience. Felt like I was stepping back into the 60s. Homey feeling. Food was plentiful and cheap! Our server, Len, was attentive and polite but painfully shy.

Yelp
We have been to 84th classic Café multiple times. We are always able to get a seat even though they are generally pretty busy. The servers and staff are always very nice and pleasant and accommodating. The food is delicious. I have only been there during breakfast times and each time the portion sizes are very large and they always give you enough cheese And additional toppings. The waffles are delicious just like hotel style Belgian waffles which I love. Highly recommend. The ambience is perfect also for a diner.

Jannette H.

Yelp
I have been here before. I actually stopped at this location once and the server was very nice, and I got great service. I've also had food delivered to my residence. No complaints from me. Everything is all good.

Yelp
Met a few friends for breakfast on Saturday morning. The restaurant is fairly large with tables and booths on both sides of the dessert cases and area you go to to pay your bill. We were seated immediately and were given a choice of a table or booth. We chose a booth. The waitress came by and took our drink order and since my friends and I were catching up we hadn't looked at the menu when the waitress returned. She seemed annoyed that we weren't ready to order and came back quickly 2 more times. We ordered and about 20 minutes later we received our food. I had a vegetable omelet with hashbrowns and toast. It was a generous portion and I only ate half and was able to bring half home for later. Everything was delicious. Only reason I am not giving a 5 star is because the waitress wasn't very friendly. I understand if she wasn't having a good day but when working with the public you need to have some pleasantries.

Michael N.

Yelp
The food was good and the service was good. The only problem I had was, I no paid fourteen dollars for a rum and coke.

Yelp
I stopped here for lunch at 11:15 am and ordered a Ham and Cheese club sandwich with a bowl of Chicken and Dumpling soup. The soup looked better than it tasted, it really looked wonderful, but the taste was lacking flavor, it still was good, just not as good as it looked. The sandwich was disappointing, it only had two slices of ham, the same thickness as the cheese along with a thick cut tomato. It would have been much better with double the meat, even if they had to charge more. Overall, I wouldn't be back, I was not that impressed.

Jim S.

Yelp
Great Quality, Prices, and Speed. Their dumpling soup, crepes, breakfast items are my favorites. Top Notch. A Bargain!

Yelp
Cute old school diner/café. We stopped by for breakfast during a weekday and we were greeted as soon as we walked in. We sat at the counter and was offered something to drink as soon as we sat down. The service is pretty casual and allows you to sit and talk with others or watch tv while enjoying your breakfast. There are lots of options for food including pancake, eggs, waffles, crepes, French toast, and more for breakfast. We had a egg breakfast and skillet with coffee and juice. The waitress kept our coffees warm, and the food came out pretty quick. The food was good but nothing out of the ordinary. The other side of the restaurant is reserved/opens for lunch and dinner, lots of tables and bar. I would go back to enjoy a nice simple breakfast, and might try lunch or dinner soon.

Yelp
Some of the most tasteless food I've ever eaten. With the audacity to have rude service on top of that. 2 stars because it was fast and edible.

Yelp
They took the personality that Johnny V's had and wiped it all away. Johnny V's Classic Cafe had a 50's diner, Coca cola themed place, with red walls. They also had great specials like AYCE shrimp, ayce spaghetti, and had energetic, personable servers. This new place actually stole half of Johnny V's name (Classic Cafe), painted the walls white, made the menu so typical and boring (cookie cutter), and the food isn't as good either. Very sad day when Johnny V's abruptly left during the height of COVID, and even sadder to see another meh type place take their spot.
google avatar

Tanya K.

Yelp
Very standard mom and pop cafe. Very nice breakfast menu with lots of options and good prices. I got the breakfast burrito and it was large. It was pretty good and came with a potato option. Coffee was good and they came around at least 10 times to refill. Service was excellent. I'd come back.
google avatar

Daniela B.

Yelp
After learning that a new restaurant opened where our beloved Johnny V's used to be, we couldn't wait to give it a try. I wonder if the owners are the same. Other than the name, the atmosphere and style of the diner is pretty pretty much the same; the food is good, so we were happy with our breakfast. To me, the difference was in "the touch", the customer service. Our server was fine but she refused to take our picture, and didn't take care of us much after that. Breakfast was good but it wouldn't be my top choice right now.
google avatar

Cam S.

Yelp
Disregarding the large menu, it's one of those "Jack of all trades master of none" type things. But I'll say that the daily specials menu is generally pretty tasty, having been here a couple times. I liked the broasted chicken quite a lot and their cream puffs remind me a lot of those you'll find at the State Fair, except they're included with your meal. Notwithstanding, the place is *very* affordable!

Yelp
Amazon food! Awesome service. Server was really nice also joked with us! Loved every bit of it. And fast service better than Denny's hahaha. Looking for a great cafe this is the place. Some had bad experience here but not me. I had a great time. :)

Terry S.

Yelp
Went there yesterday for Lunch. Was a bit surprised the Restaurant was empty, except for me and my Friend, at 1:00 on a Friday Afternoon. I had the BLT Club Sandwich and my Friend had the Corned Beef Club. Great Food and Reasonably Priced. And being the only people in there at the time, the Service was 5 Star. Highly Recommend!

Yelp
I have been here a slew of times since ownership changes, for both business meetings and with the family. The food has always been great, fast and extremely reasonably priced. The service is casual, kind and not overbearing. On our last visit, with our four young children, a woman manager(?) stopped over and was so absolutely sweet and kind to the kids! This place is a perfect fit for a neighbor cafe! Thank you and we will continue to support your business! #ChefApproved

Yelp
We stopped in tonight to see if it was as great as Johnny V's used to be. I must say we liked it a lot. We had burgers and they were delicious! Our server, Rose, was fantastic too. And the prices were reasonable. We will be back!

Debb M.

Yelp
I ordered 2 steak & eggs with extra gravy and a pancake instead of hashbrowns, 2 orders of sausage links (8 total), biscuits and gravy. What I got was 2 steak & eggs with hashbrowns 2 orders of toast and biscuits and gravy and only 3 sausage links. I hate toast and I hate hashbrowns! AND I paid for the extra sausage links but never got them. Happy birthday to me! NOT! Doordash was great though.

Yelp
Environment is great and friendly. The food is good and the variety of food items is a plus. Wish the coffee was stronger it's more on the weak watery side

Patrick B.

Yelp
Everything you could want in a diner. Good food, great friendly service, and reasonable pricing. They made an error in submitting our order which caused a delay. The waitress apologized profusely and we were given free desert as a make good. I will definitely go back.

Yelp
This place still has obvious Johnny V's vibes. The menu and everything was very similar and the food tasted the same! Nostalgic place for sure since I used to spend a lot of time here back in my high school days especially late nights on weekends just hanging with friends. I got the biscuits and gravy and while it wasn't my favorite biscuits and gravy in Milwaukee (Mad Rooster still holds that title) it was still good. Others that I was with got the omelette, chicken dumpling soup, a burger, and some other stuff. It was all pretty good. I wouldn't make plans to take the family here if you're looking for a nice meal, but if you're just looking for a place to go waste some time and eat some food with friends it's a good place to hang out!

Yelp
This strawberry cheesecake is delicious! Love the staff and the place! It has an array of a selection for food and stoked to have found it.

Sunhee L.

Yelp
Terrible food. Not fresh. Rotten taste hotdogs. Don't eat there. My kid had hotdog for lunch there. After she got home she had rashes on her face and body. She had leftover food so I smelt it and it smells like sour rotten hotdog. Unfortunately I wasn't there so I couldn't stop her eating. I called the restaurant to make sure check the quality of food but the owner just afraid to get any trouble. I definitely think they didn't check there food quality before cooking or their fridge has issues with temperature. I'm also going to report to city of Milwaukee for this.

Corrie M.

Yelp
Welcome to the neighborhood. Stopped in for breakfast on the first weekend they were opened and we were not disappointed. Some old favorites on the menu with new items there too. Will definitely be back can't wait to try the lunch and dinner options

Kathie B.

Yelp
Great breakfast and super nice server... Let us sit and talk and NEVER tried to rush us out..

Alisha L.

Yelp
I visited twice and was disappointed on both visits. Bread was dry and hard on both visits. My second visit I ordered meatloaf and swear it looks like dog food. I took one bite. Couldn't eat it. Make me miss Johnny vs more now.
google avatar

Lis J.

Yelp
I have been there twice over the last month. The first time was Father's Day when everywhere else we packed and we ended up there. The employees were exceptionally friendly, the food was excellent, the portions huge and the prices low. I went the second time a couple days ago for lunch with one son. We both had salads and found them exceedingly fresh, well made and extremely good. This restaurant will definitely be a "go to" place in the future. Also the coffee was good.

Lexie Y.

Yelp
Went for breakfast food & leaving with a fully belly! My hubby had fish and mac n cheese he also enjoyed! Thank you guys great food, service, oh and the food came out so fast i was so happy!

Ioanna L.

Yelp
They make you feel at home and I felt welcomed. My ham and cheese omelette was amazing, my hash-browns were good, and the coffee was great!

Anthony C.

Yelp
When this place was Johnny Vs it was 4 stars. Very mediocre food, very rude staff except sheila was very nice although. This place is not what it used to be and need major management improvement.

Theresa C.

Yelp
My Boyfriend and I were in on Sunday. We were so excited to one of our favorites up and running. We had a fantastic waitress named Shield. Very Friendly, quick and efficient. All the waitresses seemed to be Friendly. Our food was delicious and we were pleased. The very sad thing was that the majority of the cooks had their face masks down completely or under their noses. I asked the waitress if the two gentleman were management. She said yes, one was and the other the owner. How is it that you have a brand new place and that you not once told your cooks to put their face mask on correctly? Two of the cooks were eating as well. What the heck. So many wrongs here. We need to keep people safe. The Pegasus is right down the street and EVERYONE complies!!! You lost our business. Please fix for the safety of others. Your staff that is complying should not have to suffer.

Kim C.

Yelp
Loved Johnnie Vee"s, but didn't have a good experience with 84th Classic Cafe. Menu states most things that comes with soup that didn't, were missing mashed potatoes and a soup with our order. One of the burgers had a burnt bun, not somewhere we will look to go again anytime soon.

John H.

Yelp
Awesome food. Great wait staff. A ton of menu options. The new ownership even stopped at our table and respectfully asked us if everything was good. Better hash browns than the blue egg.

Cat G.

Yelp
You will definitely be disappointed. It's like walking into a time warp and if you like nursing home food this is the place to be.

Michael Z.

Yelp
We've been customers of Johnny V's for years and miss their service and good quality food. So I thought I'd give the new 84th classic café a try. The first thing I noticed was the sign . They just removed "johnny V's" and replaced it with "84". cheap change. As others noted the inside changes were the Coke signs are gone with a beige paint job. Did not even change the old carpeting. I ordered the perch and mac and cheese, clam chowder and a quart of chicken and dumpling soup. The perch was flat and dry. By flat I mean plank like, a quarter inch thick. I have had perch many times before and it's always curled at the edges and is moist and flaky. I had to use a steak knife. The clam chowder was cheaply made. It was thin like milk and devoid of potatoes with little else. The same is true for the chicken and dumpling soup. A huge amount of dumplings and a little bit of chicken and carrots. I would recommend avoiding this place , it is quite possibly the worst restaurant I've been to in a long time . I will return to Pegasus down the street . They have delivery and this place doesn't.

Jen R.

Yelp
Yikes I had high hopes bc I used to go to JV's all the time but the new owners are doing it all wrong. They overcharge you in hopes you don't notice, and even charge you a to-go fee!! A woman said they change a to-go fee on "large plates"... I got a salad. Even the young waitress said she never heard of a to-go fee! They are making up charges as they go, and that's not going to build them time clientele. The man (idk if he's the owner) is extremely rude and unprofessional. To top it off my Cesar dressing has gone sour. Terrible experience. I hate to do this during covid, but they can't keep taking advantage of their customers.
