8UP Elevated Drinkery & Kitchen

Me and my friends visited this rooftop that was absolutely stunning, very elegant and located high above the city, reached by a fast elevator. The place is ultra-modern, with a stylish cocktail area where you can also have dinner, and during summer you can even sit outside to enjoy the view. We ordered pizza and I had a tuna main dish; everything was very good, even though they didn’t offer gluten-free pizza. The location itself was gorgeous: modern, trendy, and beautifully designed, with great food to match.

Had dinner and drinks at the bar, early on a Thurs. Service was amazing and personal at this time. Pastry Chef Makenzie, was also bartending. She makes 2 custom desserts per month and the March, Three layer Chocolate cake with ganache, mint & marshmallow was delicious. Presentation was beautiful, wish I had taken a before pic. The salmon was delicious. Save room for dessert! Get the Italian Nebbiolo! paired well with the salmon and the chocolate cake.

Terrible service and disappointing food Service was extremely slow and careless. The pizza was awful — it arrived cold at the table, tasted like a frozen pizza, and the bottom crust was so hard the knife couldn’t even cut through it. Overall, a very bad experience. Now I understand why the place, although it looks nice, was almost empty on a Saturday night. Honestly, it should be called “DOWN” instead of “UP.

This place markets itself as “the rooftop bar of Louisville” but the experience was anything but premium. The chicken tasted old, the “truffle fries” were just basic undercooked steak fries with some cheese for $14, definitely not what was advertised. But beyond the food the issues really stem from the operation of the restaurant itself…. Our glasses were dirty, plates had dried food stuck on them, and one of our waters came with a hair floating in it. Service was chaotic… multiple servers came by, but no one seemed to know who was actually taking care of us. Meanwhile, staff, including the manager, were casually playing corn hole on the patio while we waited on drinks. Not once did anyone acknowledge the issues or offer a simple apology.. even when our issues were brought to the managers attention. He seemed more preoccupied with anything other than the service the half capacity rooftop was experiencing. For a place that promises upscale vibes, it delivered nothing but disappointment. Take your money elsewhere!

I mistakenly thought “pop pop shrimp” meant popcorn shrimp, so I was slightly surprised when they arrived on skewers (the word “skewer” wasn’t in the description). The fried chicken sandwich was a little dry/overcooked. Our order took around 30mins, even though it wasn’t a very busy night. I think our server might’ve been having an off night, or the restaurant was understaffed. The food was clearly freshly prepared (fun to watch pizzas!), but our server left our plates at the counter too long, so they weren’t as hot as they could’ve been. The music was excellent — fun 80s vibes at a good volume for conversation. Warm lighting and comfortable seating.

Wish I could give this place a zero. I came in for my birthday expecting a decent night and we were super excited to try this new spot. Let me save you the time: it’s not worth it. It started with Shirley Temples that tasted like water. Nobody’s fault—we just asked for Cokes instead. When the server brought the Cokes, the food came right before we asked for the replacement drink. Moments later, they brought a birthday treat to a table across the room. My fiancé mentioned it would be cute if I could get one too since it was my actual birthday that day too. We flagged the server down and mentioned it; she just said, “That’s so cool,” and awkwardly walked away. We laughed it off assuming she’d bring something out eventually. She never did. Meanwhile, we realized the Cokes tasted like nasty, flat water. Our server never even came back to check on the food or the drinks. We waited almost an hour just to get her attention for the check. When my fiancé mentioned the Cokes were flat and asked to have them removed, she actually laughed and said, “But you drank yours.” He responded, “Yeah, because I had no other choice.” She just smirked and said she’d take them off “this time.” I guess what she didn’t realize was with her behavior that wouldn’t even be a “next time”. When she brought the check, my fiancé tried to explain that the experience wasn't what we expected and we were pretty bummed out. She gave us the usual "Gen Z stare" and walked away, only to bring back a final receipt with the tip line already crossed out. I found that incredibly disrespectful because we never said we wouldn’t tip—she just decided for us. I asked for her name so I could follow up with a manager about her behavior, and she literally put her hand up in my face and told me to have a nice day. But what "Alexis" didn’t know was that her name was printed right on our receipt. I walked up to the bar to find a manager. Wesley, the executive chef, was the only one available. If it wasn’t for him, we would have left with a completely different demeanor. He was kind and explained that someone would reach out to bring us back in and give us a proper experience since that behavior was unacceptable. Sadly, that seems to have been a bluff, too—it’s been two days and nobody has reached out. As for the food? The only good thing was the truffle fries. My steak tasted like fish and my fiancé's burger was cold. If there were only two parties in the building and they still couldn't get it right, I can only imagine the nightmare this place is during a rush. Some people should really learn about a serving job before they get one. Save your money. Go somewhere where they actually value their customers.

The food is delicious!! I love your fried onion pizza!!! The delicious drinks, I only complain about the service it was a bit slow I ordered some shrimp that never arrived and ended up canceling. Too bad because the food was delicious

We visited at 5PM on a thursday and the place was super dead. The sunset was beautiful and the vibes on the patio were lovely. However, I was disappointed to receive my $14 martini in a plastic cup... Our server took fine care of us at the outdoor bar and we sat in some comfy couch seating where we could get out of the sun. We'd recommend for a pre-dinner drink but sounds like it can get a lil busy so glad we got there early!

The ambiance was the best thing this place had to offer last night when some friends and I went. Service was not it. Our server was not very attentive and the place wasn't crowded at all. Especially for a Friday night. They had live music for a while. The menu doesn't have a whole lot of variety. It smelled amazing. But menu seemed limited. I got the potato wedges and a house salad with shrimp. House salad with shrimp was $27. It was a regular size bowl and not worth $27 if you ask me. My glass of vodka with a splash of cranberry was $14. I realize that cocktails at most places are $13 and up but this wasn't it. So overall, thumbs down for food, service, and drinks. Thumbs up for ambiance.

Mid-South, Mid-tier Rooftop.. 8UP Elevated Drinkery & Kitchen is nice, but it can stand some admin revamping to be great. During a girls' trip, we decided to expand one of the night-outs for some rooftop therapy. 8UP is located on the top floor of the Hilton Garden Inn - Downtown Louisville. A simple elevator ride from the lobby will take you up. The entry off the elevator was really pretty. You're greeted by a hostess at her station, and we were told to have a seat anywhere. The bar and kitchen were kind of backed up, so the service was off. Communication seemed to not be aligned amongst the service staff.. It was a lot to see as patrons, but we pushed through. A bartender was able to serve us and take food orders. The drinks were solid. The food was decent. After conversation indoors, we took the night outside to the patio area. The views from the rooftop were beautiful. From where we stood, we could see the beauty of Louisville and why I stand behind it being a hidden gem of the Mid-South. The firepit, decor lights, and socializing outside made up for the previous indoor debacle. For what it's worth, 8UP has the potential to rise amongst the ranks of Louisville nightlife options. I just believe that a little tweaking could be a game changer.

We stayed at the hotel which was where this restaurant is located, so it was only a short ride up the elevator to get there. They were pretty busy so we decided to sit at the bar. The bartenders were super nice and very attentive. We decided to stay and eat there after a few drinks. The drinks were really good but the food was just okay. The sliders had flavor but were dry as in it definitely needed like a wet sauce to help with the bread plus the chicken. I was excited to try the Brussels because of a pic I saw posted but that was not what I received. They were horrible to say the least. If you can't tell by the pic they were undercooked and didn't have and seasoning on them. The wings were the same way. It's like they fried them and then just throw bbq sauce on them. So kind of seasoning what so ever. The only good thing was the fries. I would go for food and the atmosphere but not the food unless they revamp it.

A cool place to check out to hangout and catch a drink on the rooftop with some friends! Bartenders weren't the best as it wasn't busy, but yet, service was extremely slow and couldn't make certain drinks as requested. We didn't have any food, but I will say it all looked and sounded good!

Agree with the average 3.5 star rating. 8UP has a nice atmosphere that is cozy but classy & the igloos outside look really cool. I felt like the entree prices were really steep for the dishes they were. Overall the food was fine. Nothing you would brag about, but also nothing that was bad. The steak burger was the only disappointing item-the bun might as well have come from Burger King & it didn't have much flavor. Service was also fine. 8UP has great Louisville city views, but there are so many other places with better food.

Derby weekend visiting family and my mom and her coworker took me to this spot. Super cool. It wasn't too crowded but the people were business professionals looking good. We drank and ate pizza. The wings were okay. Super cool vibe. Marvelous roof top view was the best part.

I have wanted to try this restaurant for quite some time and have been intrigued by prior news articles that mentioned the rooftop themed igloos that I assume are a winter feature. One of my friends made a reservation for our group of 4, and we were greeted and seated within minutes of our arrival. We chose to sit inside because it was a bit chilly, but I would love to return to take in the views and atmosphere on the rooftop seating area. From what I could see through the giant floor to ceiling windows from our vantage point, it had a large outdoor bar area and scattered table and counter seating with outdoor heated gas fire features to extend the seasonal use. We had ultimately settled on dinner service at this location primarily based on its close proximity to the Louisville Palace and an evening show we were attending. It is only one-tenth mile or about 1 city block walking distance from door-to-door and was also one of the few restaurants actually open on a Sunday evening. The dinner menu initially appeared rather limited in offerings upon first glance, but it does appear to have several items in each expected category of vegetarian, beef, salads, chicken, etc. Our server appeared table side to take our drink orders and answer any questions. I started with a glass of Chianti $14 and my table mates ordered various cocktails with feedback that indicated they were apparently generous pours. No complaints. One was sufficient. lol I will mention, however, that one of my fellow diners ordered a mojito and had to go with a second drink choice when our server reported back to the table to apologize that they had no mint. We were somewhat surprised based off of the good ol' mint julep being The Drink of the region. Shocker. Two in my party ordered the margherita pizza and a house salad with ranch and balsamic dressings, another ordered a Bibb and bleu cheese salad with an addition of shrimp, and I ordered the salmon entree. We were all quite impressed with the presentation and eye appeal of our dinners and equally pleased with the taste. My salmon entree $26 is pictured here and was cooked perfectly tender, flaky, and juicy with a bourbon mustard glaze that created a slightly crunchy spicy crust. The filet was nestled on a bed of warm couscous, quinoa and roasted baby spinach, small tomatoes, and snap peas. Nice balance of flavors and textures and also pretty to look at before digging in. If I were to mention any drawbacks, it would be the same refrain heard far and wide -- the service industry is understaffed and our server was carrying the responsibility for multiple tables. It was no fault to the server, but it made it difficult to close out our checks so we were a bit antsy to get to our show on time. If it had been more relaxed, we might have ordered dessert, but we didn't want to push our luck with the clock. I would not hesitate to return and actually hope to try several other menu items and also experience the outdoor rooftop bar in the future. My advice to patrons -- allow plenty of time to dine and enjoy a relaxing meal, the food is worth it.

8up is an elevated eatery and bar located up on the 8th floor of downtown louisvilel hotel Hilton garden inn. After being on my to do list for a few years I finally checked out this unique and lovely looking establishment. Stopped in here for an early weekday dinner with a friend in which we made a reservation. Probably didn't need a reservation on this night as it wasn't very crowded yet. We had the option to dine outside on the elevated patio or inside. Inside was nicely decorated and had a whiskey barrel type theme so we decided to dine in and walk out to patio post meal to check out the views. We have lived in Lousiville our whole life so an 8th floor view of downtown Lousiville wasn't something we absolutely had to see. Our waitress and the entire staff was very friendly, accommodating and fast with our orders. The menu mainly consists of snack sports bar type dishes with a few more "classy" options. I personally went with a wood fire Margherita pizza and it was rather feeling and had unique but good flavor. The sauce had a nice zest and kick to it. Maybe some hot sauce mixed in? Bread was soft and tasty. Overall a good dish. My buddy got the Double Staked Smash Burgers and appeared to enjoy it overall. Overall was a good visit. Very lovely place inside and outside on the patio. For only being 8 floors up it is higher than I imagined. Food was above average to good. Pricing mildly steep but you are in downtown Lousiville so it is expected. Good place overall. I can see myself coming back. I could see it as a nice place to enjoy a drink or two in the future.

Decide to eat at 8 up in downtown Louisville. Was a beautiful evening so thought it could be a great choice. Were promptly seated, ordered cocktails and the wheels absolutely fell off the bus! Thirty-five minutes later I politely asked if they were close...10 mins later they finally showed up. We then ordered our entrees, the menu had been simplified greatly since our last visit, I ordered the chicken sliders and my wife ordered the filet kabobs. The sliders came out ($19) with (no exaggeration) 4mm of chicken meat on each one (mind you there is no side offered with them) and the kabobs were as if someone took some cheap steak, but it in the oven for an hour and then stuck a tooth pick through it...completely void of any flavor (not to mention you couldn't cut/chew through them). Would absolutely avoid at all cost. Clearly poorly managed, staff was openly fighting with one another.

As other reviews have said, the view is the best thing. Stop in for a simple drink, take some pics of 4th Street Live and the skyline lit up at night, then go elsewhere. The food we ordered (3 shareable appetizers) was slow coming out, and then wasn't even hot when it arrived. And it was overpriced considering the mediocre freezer-to-fryer quality. The nicest thing I can say is how friendly and sweet the staff were. Although poorly organized, with multiple people running around inefficiently duplicating efforts. Asking for simple cocktails such as a gin and tonic seemed to confuse them, and then drinks, straws, plates, silverware, were all slow coming out. The disorganization continued when we ordered another round of (mostly the same) drinks and apps. Seems like their heart is in the right place, but execution is lacking.

Great time! Great ambience! The manager Kevin was very personable and even made me a special drink, rain drop, which was amazing. Our server Hailey was very attentive and helpful. I will definitely be back!

Meh is the first thing that comes to mind. You're talking about a hotel restaurant and even though the scenery is cool, the service, price and quality of the food are average hotel restaurant service, price and quality of food. We had a party of eight and parties over six are automatically hit with a 20% gratuity and we didn't get 20% service. My shrimp and grits were ok and my wife's salmon was pretty good. I had two drinks and one was pretty good (Old Fashioned) but the second was below average (Nutty Old Fashioned). The waitress wasn't in a hurry to do anything but she already knew she was getting 20%, so why would she be? I have no plans of returning.

TRY THE SWEET PEA HUMMUS! I've thought about coming back for just the hummus every week since! Its vegan and worth every penny. The rooftop is of course also nice.

We never got sat because they didn't acknowledge our reservation. The hostess was very rude and dismissive, then we when we went to leave the elevator was broke so they sent us down one that took us out by the dumpster. We were literally treated like trash and I won't ever return. We would have been a great tab - table for 11 using our corporate expense account. Your loss 8up.

WOW! The igloos are the coolest thing in Louisville. I've always loved coming here for the rooftop bar in the summer, but the igloos take it to the next level. We were able to sit comfortably inside the igloos because they each have a little heater. Each igloo is decorated differently - was very hard to pick which one! We had such a cozy and fun evening. Our server was very attentive and all our orders were accurate. There were 8 of us that fit comfortably inside the igloo. Would highly recommend getting a group together and checking out the igloos!

Although the ambiance of this establishment is super cute, the igloo experience is really what I came for. I am happy I had the opportunity to do so, especially during the colder season. The minimum the tab could be was 250.00 and while we were a party of 7, the food options were just ok so we stuck with flatbreads, pizzas, sliders and a few appetizers. The hummus dip was a complete fail for me. The pita chips were stale and not enjoyable at all. The chicken on the sliders were over fried but I powered through and ate so I could be fine when leaving. The music selection was on the side of light fm-ish which I was hoping for at least top 40. I'm not from the Louisville area so if you're like me and a tourist, this would be a great place to pre-game. The pear and blue cheese pizza and a few drinks would be my recommendation!

My buddy and I went in here on a Wednesday evening for dinner while we were in the area. I ordered the burger with fries and it was pretty good. It was a little pricey for just a burger in my opinion but the flavor was still really good. The ambience of the place was nice I enjoyed the artwork and design that the building had itself. And I really liked the outside patio and looking down because you're eight floors up of course. So overall pretty good experience I would recommend it

First time in Louisville and had such a memorable experience and partially because of my visit to 8up. Nina gave incredible service and I would be more than happy to return because of her hospitality. Definitely recommending to anyone visiting Louisville.

Just waited over 30 minutes for a beer. It enough staff! Really bad service and obviously a management failure because in the 2 hours I've been here I've not seen one! Avoid this place, it's way overpriced and slooooowwww

The heated igloos at 8Up really do provide an impressive or "elevated" experience. It feels private and special to be with just your people in a themed igloo with nice downtown views. Food and drinks are good, but perhaps not super memorable. As some have noted, service in the igloos is spotty/it's easy to feel forgotten about out there. Easy fix though, just order everything you want in one go rather than trying to add on throughout the evening. The igloos are heated with space heaters but you should still dress warmly if you're cold-natured. I'd definitely go again with my friends for whom the experience and/or ambiance is of higher importance than service or having the best food ever. Pro tip: the food & beverage minimums for the igloos are lower earlier in the week than on weekends. I parked free on the street right outside the hotel but a garage is right onsite for easy access.

What a beautiful venue. Would have loved to sit outside and enjoy the view, alas it was hot as heck and so humid you could cut the air with a knife, so we opted for the nice air conditioned inside. There are various seating options and we chose one of the fancy 2 seaters by the window... big funky red chairs, quite comfy actually. My friend had one of the whiskey flights and the presentation was very nice and professional. Even comes with a water dropper and palate cleansers. The staff is always happy to explain proper tasting procedure to you. I had the chicken sliders and was pleasantly surprised. They by far exceeded my expectations. The chicken light and crisp on the outside, yet nice and juicy on the inside. Delicious. The presentation was pretty cool too.

8UP is a unique rooftop bar and restaurant in downtown Louisville. I have been many times over the year, a great place for birthdays and other celebrations. The rooftop is a fun place for drinks in the summer but they also have heated igloos you can reserve for your group during the winter! Can be a bit expensive but the food, drinks, service, and atmosphere are always great! The Fried Chicken Sliders, House Salad, and Margherita Pizza are all great options!

Well. The prices are pretty high. The wait for food was reeeallly long. My drink was lukewarm. But the real kicker: they just "tossed the quinoa" on the skillet real quick... so it felt like I was eating tiny popcorn kernels the whole time. Definitely not worth the price. Technically edible, though?

My wife, our Golden Retriever and I were staying at the Hilton where this restaurant is hosted and decided to go there for breakfast. I went there first by myself to ask if they were dog friendly and a very nice lady told me it was ok to bring our dog. When we came back to the restaurant with our dog a guy whom identified as the manager approached us acting very aggressive and asking for the dog service card. I told him the dog is not a service dog and that , before bringing our dog, I had asked one of his employees if the dog was welcomed and was told it was. He kept saying that is the law that any dog to be in a restaurant has to have a service card. I told him that if it is a service dog he has to take it, and if it is not he has the choice to take him or not but is not the law that no dog can be in any restaurant without a service card. He was just too aggressive and repeating himself so we chose to leave. I feel terrible for the poor woman who told me it was ok to bring our dog (she was behind the manager all time mouthing "I'm sorry"), I'm sure that person had to take the wrath of this manager and could not just leave the way we did. CHOOSE YOUR MANAGERS BETTER!

I've been here a couple times, both with 5 star experiences but I can see why it has an average overall score. Let's just say it's a situational 5 star but really it's just a 3 1/2-4 star. We came both times to celebrate a special birthday and it was a blast for the guest of honor. If I was just to come here for a regular old dinner, this wouldn't be a top choice. The roof top itself and view aren't spectacular, which only features the other roof tops of the surrounding buildings. We came for the Igloo rooms which are plastic blow-up tents that are setup to different themes (Moulin Rouge, Bourbon bar, etc). My daughter and young niece found these to be a very fun way to celebrate their special birthdays and it was extremely fun for everyone present. The best part was seeing them laugh and smile throughout the whole affair. On both occasions the service was excellent. Super friendly waitresses that did a great job making sure the birthday girl got everything they needed. It's not the greatest of meals but from the cocktails, appetizers and the entrees most are good. As far as the pizza stick with the margherita and the one with apples and blue cheese, steer clear of the Mediterranean. The miners potatoes, wings, chicken sliders and the kale artichoke dip were pretty good and above average pub fare. The drinks especially the cocktails are pretty spendy, I guess to help you get to the minimum (@$300). No help needed with this bunch though, so yeah, yikes on the final tally. But so worth it for such a fun evening. As far as the "hidden 20% service fee" that I've read in the other reviews, pretty sure they told us, plus if you have a big party, it's kind of a given. Look, my review is definitely inflated and if it was just me and the wife I'd probably not go here but we had so much fun celebrating my daughters 21st birthday, for us it was a five star experience.

Was in Louisville for a quick business adventure and this place was open. It's taking me some time to get used to sitting at the a table because I am a bar kind of guy and most places these days have their bar area closed due to COVID or very limited seating at the bar. It is what it is and I am getting used to it but I cant wait until we get back to normal. I miss shooting the you know what with the bartenders and just meeting strangers sitting at the bar... any who.. I know you are interested in the food and establishment and not my personal issues.... This place is amazing. The ambiance is spectacular and it has an outdoor area that overlooks downtown Louisville. I hope I get a chance to go back when its not so cold outside. Being in the Bourbon State... this place was packed with all kind of adult spirits and great food. Devin took great care of me... I told him this was my first time at the restaurant and I would take any suggestions he could offer and boy did he knock it out of the park. After all of the suggestions, here is what I ordered..... Smoked Salmon Deviled Eggs, Confit Duck Tacos and a Margherita Pizza.... Now the smoked Salmon Deviled Eggs were on point but those darn Deviled Eggs were out of this world. Pizza is my downfall so its hard for me to have a bad pizza but this Margherita Pizza hit differently. Compliments to the chef on this hand made pizza... It was scrumptious and it even taste as good on the second day. If you are in Louisville you should certainly stop by and if you do.... tell'em Drew sent ya! Y'all be easy! Drew

I really want to love this place because there's not a ton of rooftop/venue places to grab drinks in downtown. We came here for a birthday with an hour and a half to spare before separate dinner reservations, and unfortunately had to wait about 45 minutes just to get cocktails. Ordered the shrimp cocktail which is fine but it is $26 for 5 large shrimp. I understand they were fairly short on staff and you are paying for the location/venue, I still feel like it's just lacking a bit of authenticity/feel. Hopefully it can turn the corner

This is a really cute place to grab drinks with your friends. We just got a bunch of appetizers and drinks but that was perfect the vibes are nice with the live music and fire pits around. Btw the chicken sliders are kinda dry so make sure you ask for extra sauce.

We ate here after the urban bourbon and the food wasn't great and the service was okay but what was the worst was the old fashioned I had it was the worst

We had the best time in the igloo last night for our anniversary! Kylie was our waitress. She was on top of everything. And SO sweet! The food was absolutely delicious and came out so quick. The presentation was just as good. The s'mores board was my favorite part!! So fun. It was also so affordable for one of the best experiences of my life. Everything was perfect. The igloo was set up so beautiful and all the lights made it honestly so magical. We already can't wait to come back and bring all our friends!

The potato croquettes that come with the short rib are amazing! I only wish the short rib were equally as delicious and not dry. The service was excellent though.

Kylie was able to get us in right away with such a busy night going on. Not only did she make sure we were taken care of but she did it with a smile on her face and was very polite and professional. Would recommend coming here for the great service!!!

My friends and I reserved one of the "famous" igloos at 8UP. I remember wanting to go last year and never had the opportunity so I was excited that we were going and it was a nice excuse to dress up and be with friends! The igloo we reserved was the Frozen igloo- they each seemed to have a theme. Unfortunately the Frozen one did not have the ideal comfy chairs like the other igloos did so if you can choose- definitely choose another. However the igloo was spacious and very clean. There was a small fireplace and a table and it fit our group of 8 perfectly. But I will say the service was definitely slow. I totally feel for the waiters, I know how that is, but we did not get any of our stuff very quickly. By the end of the night, as they were closing, we felt like we were being rushed to leave but we hadn't gotten most of our drinks or food till late so it was a sticky spot to be in- LOL! All of our food was pretty yummy and I have celiac disease and the waiter was so kind about it and went out of his way to make sure I was accommodated with gluten free food. I really appreciated that. There was a $500 minimum, so the more people in your party the better as you'll be able to hit that way more easily. Would I ever do this again? Yes I think I would. It's a cool experience and something different. But I do think it is overpriced for what it is.

The vibe is immaculate! I loved every bit of our experience here. From the moment we walked in to the moment we left it was an upscale and private vibe. We reserved a table and got in immediately. The view of the city was perfect and we had a view of the sunset (minus a building in the way). We ordered the cheesy potato and fried chicken sliders for appetizers. Both were amazing. We then ordered 2 large pizzas, the Mediterranean and Margarita. Both were amazing. The burger was great too. Then we got a birthday dessert cheesecake! Overall 5-star experience.

I will be eating here again. Very nice drink menu, lots of options. We ordered the wings first, they where, wings. We also ordered the chicken sliders and a basket of fries. The fries where excellent and came with a really good sauce. We also enjoyed the sliders, cooked perfectly, nice flavor, and the sauce paired well. Beyond the food we ate out on the rooftop, it was comfortable and has great views of the city! They also have an option to dine in a snow globe!

You come to 8Up for the experience of the rooftop patio. That's it. And that's fine because it is really nice. I mean, inside is nice, slickly decorated and has a great feel with lots of wood, steel and glass. The long, dimly-lit bar cuts down the middle of the room and is well stocked and well staffed. The drinks were competently made and there's a good variety of choice. The food was... fine. It wasn't much above pub food with sandwiches, pizza and the like. I was expecting something a bit more elevated (pun intended, thank you), so I was left a bit wanting here. But, then there's the patio looking out over the city, and that's nice. Even in the winter where you can reserve a translucent igloo where artificial snow is generated above you, and that's pretty great! It isn't cheap, but its unique. I don't think this would be a regular spot for me personally, but it was fun!

I've been back to 8Up a few times since my last review. Often I'm there with friends for a drink before / after heading to a show or concert. This last trip we sat at the bar and ordered food - club sandwich with fries and brussel sprouts. The club sandwich wasn't bad, packed with meat, but would've been nice with a dipping sauce. The brussel sprouts were delicious. They're especially good with the goat cheese - ours came without it and when we had been eating for awhile our server brought us some. Bar service was disappointing. I asked for a Stella on draft. It was warm. We watched as others stood for 15+ minutes to be recognized even though several people passed them. Music was fairly loud and it makes it difficult to have a conversation. Why do restaurants do this? I'd have stayed longer but it drove us out. Leaving this time we agreed 8Up is getting a bit stale and it's time to branch out.

I had my birthday dinner with my friends here and it was the greatest time!! We sat in a booth and we absolutely loved the view!! Not only was the view so aesthetic and nice but also the food was amazing!! The servers were so nice, I absolutely had to leave a review!! This is such a fun and hip restaurant and I 10/10 recommend!! :)))

As one of three tables present on a Wednesday evening, we waited about 30 minutes for 6 shots. Shots were $15/each or more, plus the hidden 20% gratuity no one mentioned. No itemized receipt even after we asked for one. We didn't bother staying to eat after that. Also- there are places around town doing the igloos for free. Don't waste your money here.
