11 Best Bars in Dublin | Condé Nast Traveler

"One of Dublin’s newest bars and certainly one of its most luxurious, 9 Below is all about sleek, stylish, and opulent cocktails in an elegant atmosphere. Set in a converted basement on Stephen’s Green, the bar has original vaulted ceilings, Art Deco velvet seats, and moody lighting. The wine list is exceptional, but it's really the cocktails, which are grouped into seasons, that deserve most of your attention. Whiskey fans will be happy with a lengthy menu as well; most notable is the Midleton Pearl 30th Anniversary, an ultra-rare blended Irish whiskey that costs €1,200 ($1,389) a glass." - Nicola Brady

The perfect place for a group catch up if you don't want to drink somewhere too loud. The bar layout is super cosy. The drinks menu recently changed and I think it really suits the vibe of the place. Salvador Dali / Surrealism inspired. Service is always wonderful. Staff are knowledgeable about their menu and can make recommendations based on your taste. Johanna and Conor are incredible ! In terms of food, it's just smoked almonds and assorted snacks so eat before coming if you're planning on extensively trying out the menu.

We’ve been to 9 Below twice now on our travels to Dublin. The first time was wonderful service was great and the drinks were delicious. This last time we went. We went as two groups of 6. They sat us in the bigger room where we all could be together and it was awesome. Until it came down to the actual service. Not sure if it was due to our group size or what. But we were ignored had to find the server if we wanted more drinks and when it was time to pay we noticed they added extra items to our bill. I’m gonna say on accident. But when we brought it to the teams attention we were met with hostility and attitudes that weren’t necessary. (As we weren’t gonna pay for things we never had) So at that point it seemed like they added the items on purpose. It’s a neat place with a cool vibe and the drinks are tasty. But make sure you track what you order and check your bills

Salvador Dali theme cocktails- delicious, well crafted, and well priced. I love the ambience inside.

The cocktail lounge is beautiful inside, really beautiful and cosy setting. The cocktails are really good, well made and presented so beautifully. The movie themed cocktail menu seems a little out of place and gimmicky in such a relaxed and sophisticated setting. However it doesn’t detract from how good the cocktails are.

Local bartenders weren't so fussed to hype this place up It's beautiful inside and the staff are friendly. Drinks are presented nicely But the menu doesn't do it for me. The movie theme seems random, and they don't taste that good. They're just ok

Absolutely gorgeous place for drinks! Mystery like atmosphere, low lights and amazing cocktails. Just for reference they don’t serve food, so consider not being hungry when you walk in. Excellent place for dates.

I rented this space for a private event - a welcome party for my guests the evening before our wedding. There were 50 guests total. The staff had space cleared for a small three-piece band beforehand. Communication was amazing beforehand. Food and drink was chosen in advance, which was organized properly as I was able to arrange several calls with Shannan Noonan. She made sure everything was good to go. I only needed to give a deposit to reserve the space about 6 months in advance, and I asked them if I could give the rest of the minimum spend that was agreed upon (3k) the week before the event, so that it was off of my chest. This was not required by the establishment. You could pay when you got there. You also can limit the spend if you are paying for guests, and you can limit top shelf alcohol, shots, etc. Basically the staff are great at acknowledging your event needs. I would highly suggest using this unique space to host an event. It was intimate and we all had a blast! Patio out front was also nice!

Great atmosphere and delicious and creative cocktails, "cast away" was my favourite. Also service was very quick and the book nook looked super cozy. Definitely a nice place to visit in Dublin.

Yelp
Stunning 5/5! We first arrived at 9 Below on a Sunday evening with no reservation. The kind host let us know right away that without a reservation, we were out of luck. The entire joint was booked out, including the bar seats. Disappointed, we left & found another cocktail bar within walking distance. Out of curiosity, we checked out the 9 Below Open Table, & saw that there was availability in just over an hour. We decided to book 2 spots & wait it out. When we returned, the host remembered us & remembered that we prefer to sit at the bar. They showed us to our reserved spots - at the bar! We first admired the interior. Underground! Somehow low-lit, archaic, well-lit, & modern, all at the same time. Lively but not noisy pop music was playing - Dua Lipa, etc. The actual physical menu was so cool. It was a beautifully designed picture-book inspired menu, with each cocktail having its own separate & artful page. I'm looking back on the menu & I think the drink I ordered was "Fight Club" (Don Julio Blanco, mango, Falernum, camomile, lemon, & sugar) & it was phenomenal. The bartender scorched a hot pepper & carefully placed it on top, which MADE the drink. He also made my partner a Paper Plane with Scotch. Delicious. Speaking of the bartender, he was a real champion. Such a nice guy with a bit of flair to his style of bartending. We really enjoyed chit chatting with him. It also seemed like the staff really vibed with each other & everyone was having a good time. Great atmosphere. The next time we're back in Dublin we will definitely be back to 9 Below Bar.

Yelp
Loved this speakeasy, we went early to it was easy to get a drink. They had good music fitting of the ambiance and fun drinks with great glassware. I would recommend going around 5pm and getting a nice cocktail or 2 before dinner.

Yelp
In for an early cocktail or three before dinner. Very nice room, elegantly appointed. Swift and friendly service. Drinks were excellent although slightly more expensive than other places but well worth the small premium. Only small peeve was I thought the muzak should have been soft jazz instead of soft rock but I was gently reminded I was the wrong demographic. Still though. Will be back.

Yelp
If you want to splash out for cosy romantic drinks then this is the place to go. We booked a table for a Friday evening. Nice vibe and the music is nice background. Didn't feel like we were underground. Service was pleasant. PS - There's Jo Malone toiletries in the bathroom!!

Yelp
It ain't cheap that's for sure but the setting and service makes up for the premium. Book a table in advance and a nice way to end a night.

Yelp
€13 for an old fashioned served to me in a plastic receptacle ... very obviously trying to be high end so serve your drinks in a proper glass! Everything else was very pleasant.
