11 Best Bars in Dublin | Condé Nast Traveler

"One of Dublin’s newest bars and certainly one of its most luxurious, 9 Below is all about sleek, stylish, and opulent cocktails in an elegant atmosphere. Set in a converted basement on Stephen’s Green, the bar has original vaulted ceilings, Art Deco velvet seats, and moody lighting. The wine list is exceptional, but it's really the cocktails, which are grouped into seasons, that deserve most of your attention. Whiskey fans will be happy with a lengthy menu as well; most notable is the Midleton Pearl 30th Anniversary, an ultra-rare blended Irish whiskey that costs €1,200 ($1,389) a glass." - Nicola Brady

The cocktail lounge is beautiful inside, really beautiful and cosy setting. The cocktails are really good, well made and presented so beautifully. The movie themed cocktail menu seems a little out of place and gimmicky in such a relaxed and sophisticated setting. However it doesn’t detract from how good the cocktails are.

Local bartenders weren't so fussed to hype this place up It's beautiful inside and the staff are friendly. Drinks are presented nicely But the menu doesn't do it for me. The movie theme seems random, and they don't taste that good. They're just ok

Absolutely gorgeous place for drinks! Mystery like atmosphere, low lights and amazing cocktails. Just for reference they don’t serve food, so consider not being hungry when you walk in. Excellent place for dates.

A great experience overall, the servers are very attentive and welcoming, we didn’t have to wait for our table and the cocktails are tasty, we ordered 3 each, the prices are pretty steep but okay for a night out, however you are usually seated very close to other tables so it can get loud after a point, they do not serve food but is an enjoyable experience for cocktails overall.

Great atmosphere and delicious and creative cocktails, "cast away" was my favourite. Also service was very quick and the book nook looked super cozy. Definitely a nice place to visit in Dublin.

So glad we (literally) found this spot! (It's to the right of the double staircase in case you miss it!) Jo was our fabulous bartender and she was so patient with our questions about the bar itself, the drinks, the menu, etc. The drinks were all excellent. But our favorites were the Boogie Nights and White Chicks! Would definitely stop in again!

Great bar with a great atmosphere. Cocktails were made with care. The only critique I have is that I didn't understand the concept of the cocktail menu being movie themed, and why nearly everything in it included fruit in one way or another, but the friendly bar staff are more than capable of making anything you desire, so not a big deal.

Gavin is a true artist with his bartending knowledge and skill. Great conversation with Gavin, and Kate. The best, and most unique cocktails that my husband and I have experienced and tasted in quite some time. Very impressed. A beautiful, and special kind of place. Very clean, cozy, and unique vibe. A must visit while in Dublin if you love speakeasy type bars with truly unique cocktail combinations with a cool atmosphere without crowds of tourists.

Yelp
Stunning 5/5! We first arrived at 9 Below on a Sunday evening with no reservation. The kind host let us know right away that without a reservation, we were out of luck. The entire joint was booked out, including the bar seats. Disappointed, we left & found another cocktail bar within walking distance. Out of curiosity, we checked out the 9 Below Open Table, & saw that there was availability in just over an hour. We decided to book 2 spots & wait it out. When we returned, the host remembered us & remembered that we prefer to sit at the bar. They showed us to our reserved spots - at the bar! We first admired the interior. Underground! Somehow low-lit, archaic, well-lit, & modern, all at the same time. Lively but not noisy pop music was playing - Dua Lipa, etc. The actual physical menu was so cool. It was a beautifully designed picture-book inspired menu, with each cocktail having its own separate & artful page. I'm looking back on the menu & I think the drink I ordered was "Fight Club" (Don Julio Blanco, mango, Falernum, camomile, lemon, & sugar) & it was phenomenal. The bartender scorched a hot pepper & carefully placed it on top, which MADE the drink. He also made my partner a Paper Plane with Scotch. Delicious. Speaking of the bartender, he was a real champion. Such a nice guy with a bit of flair to his style of bartending. We really enjoyed chit chatting with him. It also seemed like the staff really vibed with each other & everyone was having a good time. Great atmosphere. The next time we're back in Dublin we will definitely be back to 9 Below Bar.

Yelp
Loved this speakeasy, we went early to it was easy to get a drink. They had good music fitting of the ambiance and fun drinks with great glassware. I would recommend going around 5pm and getting a nice cocktail or 2 before dinner.

Yelp
In for an early cocktail or three before dinner. Very nice room, elegantly appointed. Swift and friendly service. Drinks were excellent although slightly more expensive than other places but well worth the small premium. Only small peeve was I thought the muzak should have been soft jazz instead of soft rock but I was gently reminded I was the wrong demographic. Still though. Will be back.

Yelp
If you want to splash out for cosy romantic drinks then this is the place to go. We booked a table for a Friday evening. Nice vibe and the music is nice background. Didn't feel like we were underground. Service was pleasant. PS - There's Jo Malone toiletries in the bathroom!!

Yelp
It ain't cheap that's for sure but the setting and service makes up for the premium. Book a table in advance and a nice way to end a night.

Yelp
€13 for an old fashioned served to me in a plastic receptacle ... very obviously trying to be high end so serve your drinks in a proper glass! Everything else was very pleasant.
