9 Oaks Grill

Definitely try this restaurant. My cousin took me here today and I really enjoyed it. Friendly staff and cool environment. I ordered the croissant egg sandwich with hash browns. And my lunch companion ordered wing ding meal with fries. The ranch is good. Family owned by the way. I will be back.

I got breakfast today and the food was absolutely amazing. My nine-year-old son cleaned his plate and so did I. The staff was so friendly and the cooks are doing a really good job. I never have any complaints about the food when I go and will always come back!

My wife and children usually go here right after church. However, these last two Sundays when they visited, they were stopped at the door and told that they were closed... Even though it was well before 3pm, and people were obviously eating or placing orders. The fact that the owner will get on Google and argue with every single bad review, while showing no remorse or accountability, should tell you all you need to know. I'd hate to think that race played a factor, but I don't know what to believe at this point. What I do know is that we'll be taking our Black dollars where they'll be appreciated. And to the owner, you can argue with yourself. There are enough criticisms for you guys to make amends. Don’t spend your time or money here. Thanks for coming to my ted talk.

This was some of the worst restaurant food that I ever had. The potatoes were instant potatoes with no taste, the turkey was also tasteless and the soup, cream of broccoli was horrible. It was thick and gross and I packed up my food and threw it in the trash once I left . A total waste of money.🤢

It had a very local grill type atmosphere, and the prices were reasonable. The mushroom Swiss cheese omelete was good. The service was great and friendly.

9 Oak Grill is a 10 star restaurant. They give you amazing service and food. I can't express in words how wonderful this place is. You need to come here and treat yourself!!!! Saher, Flora and Arta are amazing!!!!

This is such a cute, quaint, family ran restaurant. The service was quick and friendly. The food was good and plentiful. Good and homey decor, with t.v. to watch while you eat. Price is medium, not too high, not too steep.

I’m frustrated because it’s not even me wanting to come here: ITS MY KIDS BECAUSE THEY ARE GOING OFF OF PAST EXPERIENCES. If their closing time has changed to 2pm they need to update it on google and their site. SMH.

This place is a hidden gem! I never knew it existed, and I work like less than 10 mins away. We came for a late breakfast/early lunch, and with a party of 6, the food was fast, tasty.

Additionally, 9 Oaks Grill has the best Chicken and Rice soup! Excellent flavor, seasoned with tasty chicken. An absolute favorite.

After maybe two dozen times of coming here for lunch and trying multiple things off the menu, I can't recommend it enough. The food is good and the waitresses and cooks are wonderful.

Now as said in the picture good chicken club sandwich but not the best I've ever had I stand by l George coney's island as the best chicken club sandwich in Michigan lol however this one is second best I've had butter bread sweet pickles Fresh tomatoes moist chicken breast my chicken breast was a little fatty but still good I give this a 8 out 10 amazing customer service the place was really clean smelled like cleaning products when I walked in that's and that's a rare thing in any restaurant I recommend this place to any and everyone stop In enjoy the cleanest restaurant I've ever been to in Michigan

I feel like I have been here before, was it possibly another diner that was known for sandwiches. Suggest sitting away from the door, it's a bit drafty and cool every time the door is opened, despite there being double doors between. Our waitress was nice and friendly and attentive. She got our food order in quickly and if you came out not too long after. She was quick to clean up afterwards and give us some clean space. She was also efficient and getting us a check so we could leave. Ordered the Greek omelet with Tzatziki sauce, hash browns with Rye toast and an order2 eggs scrambled, hash browns with green peppers and onions well done and cinnamon raisin toast too. The rye toast and Greek omelet came out as well as my raisin toast, my eggs, turkey sausage and hash browns came out a minute later. The omelet, not burnt and a bright yellow and plain hash brown looked good, they looked nice and crispy. My two scrambled eggs were a nice healthy yellow color, were not burnt. The turkey sausages looked super thin and deflated. There wasn't much to him and he didn't taste that great. My husband enjoyed his Greek omelette as well as his crispy hashbrowns. He tried his right host as well, so it was OK. My raisin toast was fine, didn't have much butter on it, but was OK. I'd probably give it about a 3 1/2 star, but the main part of the food was good. The bread and the turkey sausage is about two for me. The main entrée food was a solid four. I would definitely come back here for the hashbrowns and omelettes. I'd like to try some of their lunch menu items next time, They looked good as well.

9 Oaks is that spoon that sits in waiting for what seems to be a lifetime. You stop here weekly or maybe just monthly, and rely on the fact that the constant for this neighborhood will always be there. Not the metro Detroit's best kept secret, but a darn good one. Starting with breakfast served anytime, lunch or early supper, there's a large variety to choose from. On this trip, we enjoyed a medium julienne salad with a hearty bowl of chicken noodle soup and a big order of veggie stir fry. My friend Jerry knocked out two coneys with chili/cheese fries and started in on his wife's Reuben. There was certainly enough to go around. They both were extremely satisfied. Our new friend, Toya, was a walking, talking menu. Friendly, too. We learned the restaurant is family owned and operated. That explains all the warmth and charm. I can report that on my last visit, we split the crispy chicken salad, hot Turkey sandwich (with mashed potatoes), the Monterey chicken (with rice) and a big bacon cheeseburger/fries. We had four at the table but could easily have fed 6 or 7. Because of the quality, I can now boast two new converts to the restaurant. 09/21

The food was horrible, I literally didn't even have a server. I had to beg just to get anyone's attention. The service was the most horrible service I have ever had in my entire life. Then the manager tried to yell across the restaurant to see what I needed when I politely raised my hand to add on a side. It was the most ghetto experience and atmosphere to ever attend, my food was soggy and I was dining in. I didn't even have a chance to take a picture of the food because I sent it back, then she tried to say I'm paying for the whole bill. And the food is making me sick to my stomach and I'm about to puke it up. I would advise anyone to stay away from this establishment , very ghetto females who work.

This place is so cute. It's in oak park in a shopping center complex. You can get your shopping on then so and get you something to eat. I got the tuna salad, where my friend got a turkey sausage, egg, and cheese sandwich with grids. The food was good, snd the service was good. It's a quaint family owned restaurant that knows most of their costumes by name. That's how at home you feel when you're there. I only wish that they would incorporate mixed greens, or romaine with the ALL salads. But other than that.. this place is slappin'.. A good place to eat! Yall keep yelping.

I went and got their special of 2 coney islands and fries on my lunch hour. I chose this place because it was nearby and when I told my coworker I was going she said she wanted the same thing. Picked up our food and got back to work and was shocked at what we got. The food did not seem fresh at all! We had to throw it away because it was not edible but would have brought it back if we could. The coney dogs were burnt black and dry and the fries were over cooked and greasy as if they had been put in the grease twice. We immediately called and the customer service we received was horrible. The manager was nasty and asked what did I want her to do about it? She then said everyone knows their food is fresh and that they coneys are deep fried more than other places. When I asked to speak to the owner she refused to put him on the phone saying he was cooking. She then said they don't give refunds because other people have been asking for refunds which has nothing to do with us. Clearly there is a lot of red flags with this place because why is everyone picking this place out to ask for refunds if nothing was wrong with it? This place. What place has complaints and the owner refuses to talk to them? This place. It was 12 oclock when I spoke to her and she calls back saying she was leaving at 3. This was after I told her I came on my lunch hour and did not get off until 6. DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS PLACE!

I ordered the chicken strip dinner and asked for chili fries with it. Says it comes with a choice of potato or rice. Was charged full price for the fries which is okay, but I still would of liked to gotten what comes with the dinner if I'm paying 13.99. Also came with a soup, salad, or coleslaw, but I didn't get any of that either. The waitress brings me chili cheese fries, but I can't have dairy so I send it back, 1 min later they bring me undercooked chili fries. I get my bill, and I was charged full price for the dinner 13.99 even though I wasn't served the dinner plus I paid .95 cents of cheese that I never asked for or ate. I paid my bill and left, because I didn't want to be *that* customer that ruins someone's day. The waitress said she was new, I don't completely blame her, but she was running the whole restaurant by herself besides the cooks, so I 100% blame the management of the place.

I can't get past the waitress who was sick, and came to work touching the food and utensils, wiping nose, etc. I know they are short of help, but not to the expense of Health and Safety standards! The breakfast are normally good, pancakes are light, and tender, turkey sausage, dry, and tough, omelettes are tasty.

When waiting around for my next class to start, I was starved and stumbled upon this little cozy diner style grille. I came in around 9am on one occasion and 10-11ish the other and it is busy! I initially was Surprised at the crowd and the amount of regulars they had but when I tried their food, wasn't so much anymore. My favorite omelet is the western, the onions, peppers and ham were cooked and seared to perfection and still had that slight veggie crunch in them! They made it so well I'm having trouble liking any other places breakfasts, and I've had a few that can't compare so far in the Southfield area already! Their portions are big and you definitely get your money's worth and then some. This grille is close to my school so I'll have to get the campus crew here some time to try them out. I'm sure they'd love it and the affordability. The service was great, very polite and nice staff. I really enjoy the cute small diner style feel they've got going on, especially with the Christmas decor now. I adored my small cozy booth with my warm coffee watching the snow fall as I had my breakfast. I will be back for sure.

This fantastic diner is located in a busy strip mall on 9 Mile & Coolidge. It's not terribly noticeable because of all of the other busy stores surrounding it. There is plenty of parking in the huge lot adjacent to the Mobile gas station on the corner. Inside, the diner is quaint and staffed with friendly professionals. Each time I visit, I think to myself how my encounters are lovely with these folks. There is plenty of seating and plenty opportunities for people watching and even chatting up a stranger. I can tell that the patrons who eat there are regulars. They look so comfortable eating there. Although I have only gotten carry outs, I will definitely go back to dine in. Carry out service is fast and efficient. I have had the cinnamon roll french toast, a burger and fries and also a corned beef sandwich on my multiple visits. All were delicious, fresh, and hot. OH...and onion rings...yum! No issues with incorrect orders, either. They obviously care about their customers. Credit cards, including AMEX are accepted. The food choices and prices are comparable to other diners. They sell bottled juice for your convenience. The various cakes in the display cooler look delicious.

I have been to 9 Oaks Grill multiple times. I actually live down the road and was super excited to find a breakfast place that was close. It takes a lot to deter me from my usual breakfast places, but sometimes you just want to go somewhere, not wait in a line, grab a table and get amazing breakfast. Sounds easy, right? So, 9 Oaks Grill is tucked into a plaza with multiple other stores. If you blink you could miss it. Actually, I would love for them to get a bigger, bolder sign so people know that they exist. It's not a bad sign, but you can't really see it from the street. Anyway, basically this is my new go to breakfast place (along with Monty's. Loooove Monty's). There are tons of options on the menu, but I always seem to get the country hash. Who doesn't love crispy hash browns, green peppers, onions ham, cheese... Yum! When you sub feta for cheddar they NEVER skimp. The breakfast platters (yes, platters) are huge. I always have breakfast leftovers for the next day. The veggie omelette had lots of really fresh ingredients and was perfectly cooked. Grab yourself the corned beef sandwich (9 Oaks Special). It's really tasty! At first I thought it may be just like all the other corned beef sandwiches, but there is just something extra delicious in this one. Maybe it's the buttery grilled thick rye bread or their specially made corned beef. I don't know, but I love it. The food is really good and maybe one day I will move past my regular order... It's just so damn tasty. The standout here is really service and climate. The servers are always attentive and friendly. Maybe this is just my perspective, but they seem to actually like one another. There is a simpatico between the waitresses/waiters and the kitchen. They always seem to be smiling and joking. You can always tell when staff is treated well and I always appreciate that in a local place. I like to eat local and try very hard to shop local. These are the things you can't get from bigger places. Also, the small diner feel brings me back. I like walking into a small place and seeing the same people. Maybe that makes me uber traditional, but I appreciate that in a place. If they keep doing what they are doing, they will have a customer for a long time. Stop in! You'll be glad you did. :)

I have been here several times and I absolutely love the environment. I usually get there around 8:00 am for breakfast. CLEAN, CLEAN, CLEAN... this place takes the award for the cleanest restaurant in the area, bathroom included. They have their usual customers who appear to come in daily. The waitresses know them and their orders. It was wonderful to watch such exceptional CUSTOMER SERVICE! Fast service and the food always comes out fast and very tasty. This place doesn't seem like a restaurant but rather going to a friends house for breakfast. I sneak away here when I want a hot, good meal, and quiet place to start my day. I wish I could give them 10 stars! The only coachable feedback I have are about the grits. They aren't soupy like most places however, they were still very under cooked. So much so I had to send them back.

This use to be my favorite breakfast restaurant. Food was great. One of the waitresses took a break and went outside fir a few minutes. When she came back in, she went straight to taking orders and serving food. She did not even wash her nasty hands. I was so disappointed I got sick to my stomach.... never will I eat there again .. yuk....

Ordered lunch but the older black female server was not attentive at all. I had to get the younger server to get her attention. When I complained to the mgr., the only excuse was that it's difficult to provide good service because that server was the only one working the entire floor! Well, doesn't that equate to poor mgmt? Honestly, I watched her literally serve the ONLY other table. This place wasn't even one fourth full and they couldn't provide good service? Never going there again. She knew she was horrible to us so of course she didn't bid us farewell like she did the regular customers who apparently are her favs. Don't go to this place unless you feel like getting up to get service. Tables are dirty as well. We were told to sit anywhere but wouldn't that mean tables are clean? No! I will be contacting food safety and reporting them. Bugs crawling on table was also not on the menu. And... the older black woman even argued with the younger server In front of the ENTIRE restaurant just because she felt the younger girl was taking her customers... NEWSFLASH: if you are kind and attentive to EVERYONE, not just customers you know, maybe you will get better reviews. Manager is too afraid to train her on professionalism. Stay away from this place!

Great little diner, good affordable diner food that tastes very good. Fast polite service. Tucked into a strip mall off a busy main road. We did observe some customers acting like their meal was substandard in an attempt to get money off their meal, even though the effort was not creditable. The staff said that happens several times per day. The neighborhood looks safe, however.

This is the best restaurant the food is great, highly recommend to visit it and try the food and there are the best chiefs

I was excited to try a new place. I had their French Toast special. The price ($7.49) is good. The French Toast slices were small. The bacon was good. The service was slow. I received my French Toast first. I received my eggs about 4 minutes later. Hmm, not good. It is not a very beautiful or cozy place. However, the customer service was decent. However, our server never came back to check on us after we received our food. Yet, they were attentive prior to getting our food.

Great polite service and standard good food. I would eat here again . The decor is nice and seems recently updated. After breakfast you are nearby a supermarket and other stores if you need to pick up some things. So it's a very convenient location

This used to be our favorite place to order from, but the service has been horrible the past few months. It started with trying to arrange for them to cater a party, and they routinely stopped returning my calls. We continued to order, and the past four or five orders we have gotten have been incomplete - missing items, sides, sauces, etc. Today, another customer walked out of the restaurant WITH OUR ORDER and the server got it back and handed the same bag to us. Nice COVID procedures! Really disappointed with this business at this point.

I am so happy there is another great breakfast restaurant in my neighborhood. I love the Greek Omlette and the waffles (too much to eat all at once). Friendly servers and the owner I talked with on several occassions was helpful and very interested in working with the community. Highly recommended. Monday - Saturday 7:00 am - 8:00 pm Sunday 8:00 am-3:00 pm Free deliveries to any (local) business witha food purchase of $25.00 or more. Call ahead for faster carryout service.

Hands down my favorite local Oak Park diner. The waitstaff is not only super friendly, but come in a few times and they'll know your order by heart. The Monday-Friday breakfast specials are really on point.

This AM I went there for "Coffee with a Cop." Coffee was "on the house" and delicious--better by far than most. Courtesy and promptness was amazing. I asked a cop if they chose this for the best doughnuts. "No. The best breakfasts." So next time I'll go earlier and try one.

Great spot for any meal. Often, I can head here between evening meetings and get a tasty quick dinner. The menu is diverse so whatever you have a taste for, they will have! You must try their pie for dessert- it's fabulous! Easy parking, great staff, very affordable.

I ordered two coneys with everything. The 2nd bite produced an object the waitress or myself couldn't identify. I politely excused myself from the restaurant. I was offered something else but a second chance it not an option when it comes to Unidentifiable objects in your food. I will not be returning. Davison is across the street.

Decent food, good portions. NO SPLENDA!!! What in the world in this day and and age to have no Splenda? They do need to spend some time at Grand Port Cafe in Ecorse to learn their secrets to better tasting breakfasts though.

Great find. I've worked in the area for the past year and this is my first time stopping into the 9 Oaks. To be honest, I've walked past it several times on my way to the Golden Bowl restaurant - just never stopped in. Today, I wanted a Gyro and when I searched the local area 9 Oaks popped up. I had expected something drab and uninviting and so was planning to get carry-out. But, as soon as I walked in I changed my mind and decided to dine-in. Why? Because the place is VERY CLEAN. That's a big deal to me and you rarely find it in small restaurants. The people at 9 Oaks care about their restaurant. I wasn't sitting for more than 10 seconds and water was provided. Server stopped by one minute later and got my drink immediately. The table was clean, the cup was clean, even the menu's were clean. This is a greek-style restaurant with all of the usual fare. I ordered the Gyro Platter which came with plenty of perfectly cooked lamb, a pita that seemed homemade it was so fresh, and more rice than I could possibly eat. They also provided a good-sized cup of the yogurt sauce for the gyro, again it seemed homemade because it was so good. The restaurant had a good number of local residents and even a few state police troopers. The staff were all very friendly and seemed to treat everyone with the same level of courtesy and attention. This was just lunch, and only my first time, but I'll definitely be back. When you find a small diner this good you don't forget about it. Give it a try, I don't think you'll be disappointed.

I used to like this place, did it change management? Today I had an experience that confirms that I should take the pots and pans out from storage and put my apron back on and start back to cooking at home ! We had 3 waitress serve us.. the 3rd one was busy sitting in the back row flirting with some guy.. we waited 10 minutes and couldn't catch anyone's eye-and she didn't give us the check.. I was in a hurry to take care of other business, so I got up to cashier which was probably the manager, and told her what I ordered, she tried to put other peoples order's on my order and then claimed she couldn't read the waitress hand writing. Meanwhile I had a takeout also, which I canceled, since it wasn't ready. The manager was rude, insensitive and greedy! She wanted me to pay for the takeout which she insisted had chicken in it, even though am a vegetarian. I figured since she got everything screwed up..it was best to cancel that vegetarian pita sandwich. Which she made anyway and expected me to pay for it. All in all she should have made sure her waitress was on the job instead of fraternizing with customers. I don't plan on going back.. I can cook at home and keep freshly made healthy sandwiches in a cooler. (trunk of car)

I ordered the Strawberry Chicken Salad and it was great . Very clean and fast , nice owner.

I ordered a gyro and fries to go, I get back to work and the gyro meat is so dark and dehydrated like jerky and it was just meat and sauce which was curdled nothing else. I took it back and requested a refund and the manager got very rude saying that is the way it is supposed to look, he threw it in the trash and asked in a rude tone is there anything else I wanted. I said I want you not to be rude because I was dissatisfied with my food he said here is your money dont ever come back! I thinking he has no worries about that.

This place used to be Royal Grill that had great food, but it had dirty, old, unkempt decor and made u wonder about the safety of the food. Now it's the 9 oaks and they kept the same food, which is awesome classic favorites and the place looks updated and modern. The coneys are the best, kogel hot dogs with the skin, Detroit Block chili and steamed buns. The breakfast sausage is thr best I've ever had, also. Delicious!! A must try over any other Coney restuarant in the area!

Well... Met a gentleman for a local meeting who dined in and was a paying customer... Apparently this restaurant is unwelcoming to to a business meeting while dining. We sat for a few minutes after a meal to only witness possibly the most rude management with no business courtesy. Everything he ordered was less then average at best, exactly what to expect from a dive diner that is poorly run. 5 minutes after closing... Upon finishing of our meal, the waitress and manager rushed us out bluntly saying "we are closed, what are you doing here?" And going on to make it a big scene to rush us out the door. They wouldn't even let us sit peacefully, 5 minutes after they closed in the afternoon while they were busy cleaning and taking orders. Obviously, this business has no regard for their customers spending our hard earned money, nor any respect for customer service. I have never seen a restaurant be so rude to their customers, so distasteful and unprofessional with their food & manners. The business is run by jerks, who are are disrespectful & have no courtesy. Do not dine here unless you are desperate, because they don't care about their customers or who walks in the door, they only care about your money.

The food is good. But the last few times it has been missing food or the orders have been messed up. One of the salads had mold on the vegs. We ordered there every day for the last few months. Sorry I am done ordering here so is a few co-workers.

I eat at the 9 Oaks Grill approx. 4-5 times per week. On every occasion during the past two years, I have received outstanding/quick service, great tasting food, and tremendous value. The servers are friendly and the management is interested in making sure that each one of my visits there is an enjoyable one. Their menu is extensive and their pricing is fair. Although everything I have eaten at the 9 Oaks Grilles is great, their Chicken Greek Salad is the absolute best! (Their marinated chicken breast is the best I have ever tasted). Great place!!!
