Yelp
This place is a scam. Not only are they NOT in Oakland, they are in Australia. But that's beside the point. Their entire business model is a scam. They insist on getting a credit card to "secure the job", saying they won't release the funds until you approve of the design their flunkie sends you. We fell for this - hook, line and sinker. We put down a deposit and chose a designer to create a logo for us. All we got was public domain clip-art. We never approved anything, and when we tried to cancel the whole thing we were told that we cannot cancel - that it was up to the designer to do that. We are basically being told that we HAVE to accept their crappy work. This is what we were told:
"You have until Monday, February 22, 2021 to request additional changes otherwise the project will complete automatically and any secured payments will be released to the designer."
We NEVER approved any designs. This is an elaborate scam. Fortunately we saw that early on and filed a dispute with our credit card company. Trying to deal with the staff at 99designs.com is a waste of time. Do yourself a favor and DO NOT under any circumstances hire this company. It is a complete scam.
Another thing - when we go to their site, our PC-Matic throws a huge error alerting us to malware or something else nefarious on their site.
