America's Absolute Best Pie Shops

"With two Seattle locations and founded in 2009 by Chris Porter, this shop focuses on Pacific Northwest ingredients and handmade on-site pies that capture regional flavors and playful combinations. I enjoyed the signature Blue Hawaiian (blueberries, crushed pineapple, and toasted coconut), Marionberry & Hazelnut with local fruit and a nut-marbled crust, and the cinnamon-spiked Mexican Chocolate Mousse, plus adorable single-serving “pie babies” in all the signature fruit flavors." - Veronica Stoddart

Google
This is our go-to dessert location in West Seattle! Fun atmosphere, but only gave 3 stars because very limited seating. They do have outdoor tables right now. All pies have been amazing. My favorite are the Peanut Butter (seasonal), Cookies and Cream and Banana Cream pie. Quick and easy service, very friendly staff!

Robert van A.

Google
Fantastic place to grab a slice or whole pie, or even a ‘petite’. It’s not all dessert pies, they have shepherds pie and pizza style as well and a whole coffee menu. Great place to try in W. Seattle

Google
We visited for a little post-graduation pie celebration and thoroughly enjoyed this place! The staff was very friendly and helpful. We tried the Shepherds Pie, Chicken Pot Pie, Strawberry-Rhubarb, Sour Cherry, Marionberry, and Banana pies. All were as delicious as the were gorgeously made. 10/10 for the Banana Pie 🥧 and the Chicken Pot Pie was an 11/10 for flavor and nostalgia, reminding me of a hot bowl of chicken noodle soup and watching the Price is Right staying home sick from school 🍲 Plenty of nearby parking as well as some fun shopping. Absolutely recommend a visit.

Brianna L.

Google
Best pie ever! Their pie making classes are also great, so informative and fun! I recommend grabbing a savory hand pie if you are in need of a hearty snack. Their sweet pies cannot be matched, I especially enjoy the seasonal offerings.

Google
Whoever made the Mexican Mouse today must not have done a taste test. The whipped cream is pungent (could be rotten) and not sweet at all. The chocolate portion is overly spiced and leaves a gnarly after taste behind. $10/slice and I had to toss it after two bites. Definitely recommend quality control as this wasn’t the first time having a bad experiencing (was giving it another chance). There are better pies at places that don’t have “pie” in their name or claim to specialize in pies. Skip this place.

Google
For a place all about pie that charges $10 for a slice, this place served the worst pie I’ve ever had. Safeway has better pie… my wife’s piece was terrible. She got “banana cream with white chocolate ganache”.It was a full cut up banana and flavorless whip cream. I couldn’t believe how nonexistent the flavor was. No custard? I got pecan and it was a huge handful of pecans and hard grainy crust. Bleh

Google
I drove to West Seattle just for pie. Was not disappointed. Finished my first Blue Hawaiian for breakfast the morning after.

Google
So Delicious, I had to get 2 different pies and also an ice coffee .

Yelp
The Mexican Hot Chocolate is a perfect balance of rich chocolate with whipped cream that is not overly sweet and hint of heat from the chili. Decadence. The French Apple has a great balance of apples butter and cinnamon with a crisp crumble topping. The Blue Hawaiin is great also blueberry's and coconut. The crème brûlée cheesecake is to die for, almost as good as Juniors in Brooklyn. I typically door dash but I brought in my cards and proof of purchase and they gave me the punches, great service that shows they value their guests.

Yelp
Walking past this adorable pie shop, we could literally smell the pies baking from the street--it was impossible to resist. We made a point to come back the next day to see where all that goodness was coming from, and wow, we're glad we did! The staff greeted us with a warm welcome, and the menu had both sweet and savory options--which was exactly what we were hoping for. I had the shepherd's pie for lunch, and it was fantastic--the crust was buttery and flaky, the filling flavorful, and the mashed potatoes perfectly seasoned. We also tried the hamburger hand pie (so good!) and the chicken pot pie, which was just as delicious. Of course, we couldn't leave without taking home a few sweet pies. The peach pie was pure perfection, and the Hawaiian Blue--filled with toasted coconut, pineapple, and blueberry--was an unexpected but amazing flavor combo. If you're looking for a place with incredible pies, whether fruity or savory, A la Mode is a must-visit. You won't be sorry!

Yelp
Clean, welcoming pie shop where you can get whole pies without a notice. It was my roommates birthday & we got him his favorite key lime pie. When I tell you, he said it was one of his favorites. The pie was very succulent with the perfect amount of tartness. Pie shop located in a great area with mostly street parking, a couple of small lots and there is a paid parking garage behind.

Yelp
I can't say enough good things about this place! It's easily one of my favorite pie shops - every pie I've tried has been amazing. The white chocolate banana cream pie is my absolute favorite; I seriously dream about it, haha! The staff is always so kind and welcoming. Definitely go check them out! (:
google avatar

Jaysun K.

Yelp
I stopped in for a tart cherry pie for my partner's birthday. It was delicious! I will definitely be back to try their other offerings.

Yelp
Felt like I gained 5 pounds just sniffing the freshly baked pies when I came in the place & with all the yummies displayed, I wanted all of them The place is clean & felt like gramma's kitchen and the staff friendly & helpful

John B.

Yelp
Rude Customer service. Gave an attitude when addressing that we could not order pies there though we only came to look what kind of pies they had so we could order online later. I have been in customer service before and even though I was extremely busy I did not give my customers attitude like that!
google avatar

Ash G.

Yelp
Well well well did I see Savory Pies!! So we ordered a few savory pies the Cheeseburger 3/5 it was unfortunately salty, great flavor profile but it might just be an off day? Will let you know if I try again. The Spinach and Feta 5/5 so freakin' good definitely will be ordering more of these. Creme Brulee Cheesecake 2/5 I really really really wanted to like it but alas the cheesecake base is just too sweet let alone adding the brûlée, would be great to get more zest but I'm sure there are those who love it! For me I'll be going back for the Mexican chocolate pie mmmmm As always the service is always super sweet, friendly and helpful and the interior is lovely, high ceilings y'all!! Definitely worth a stop

Yelp
Talk about pie shop/bakery that was amazing. After tasty ramen for dinner with friends while visiting friends in Seattle. They suggested walk next door for slice of pie. I never been so was pumped for desserts. They always good to best food spots in Seattle. It not often find not only amazing bakery but one that specializes in pies. The minute walk in not only smells of all baked goods heavenly. U look at the display of all the pies, savory pies, and tough just pick one. One that stood out for me was Blue Hawaiian. See Hawaiian not pineapple associate with it. Blueberry and coconut. I had to get it. It was da bomb! One slice more like for two. They also sell whole pies and even do classes want learn make them. The filling was so so good. Mound of blueberries, crust nice light delicious, and coconut shaving on top perfect balance. They also sell merchandise, two refrigerators different drinks, and chill pies ready also order. The inside cool. Not really many spots sit down eat pie. The service five stars from minute walked in warm greeting and all smiles. Next time in Seattle be back try more pies!!!!

Yelp
After the sticker shock and potentially long wait wears off, it really is the best pie out there. The crust is definitely butter based not shortening which makes all the difference.
google avatar

Chelsea W.

Yelp
I was disappointed that despite there being pies in the display case, the slice we got were already pre sliced and packed to go. My husband thought his would be fresh cut because there was a whole new pie. I thought MY slice seemed really small, especially compared to the one my husband got. But they were different styles. I had a s'mores pie, which was ok. My husband's was banana cream, which was good!
google avatar

Yelp
Everything I wanted as an after meal snack. If I hadn't already eaten, I would've loved to get a couple pies here - their variety is amazing and you can definitely find something no matter what you're in the mood for. Sweet, savory, dessert, or meal. They'll definitely have something to do the trick
google avatar

Joshua F.

Yelp
Severely undercooked pies, to the point the bottom crust was completely raw, and we had to spit it out. I've never given a restaurant 1-star before, but it was inedible.

Cindy G.

Yelp
GO THERE!!! Never a disappointing decision no matter what you are in the mood for. I've had the Mexican chocolate and a couple of different fruit pies. Delicious!! I had the burnt cream brûlée cheese cake for the first time. It was superior to any cheese cake I've had from the Cheesecake Factory. Amazing!!
google avatar

Earnie G.

Yelp
We picked up a couple of pies from here for Thanksgiving. We had a top-notch berry pie. It was brimming with great berries, had a wonderfully flaky crust, and was delicious. That pie would earn this place five stars. But we also had a caramel chocolate pecan tart. The tart crust was far too thick and undercooked. The top of the tart was tasty, but the nuts seemed a little off (stale?). It was a two-star offering that might stretch to a two-and-a-half. The prices are high, though reasonable. Good pies are not inexpensive to make. The berry pie showed top-quality ingredients. The nuts in the tart have me double-guessing the quality and consistency of the ingredients across the full range of pies. We will have to return again, though we don't live close to here. This first experience tempers our enthusiasm somewhat, so it might be some time before we return for a second visit.

Yelp
This place is great. Probably what would make it better would be seating. I get it, most probably don't hang around eating or drinking their pie and it's all togo. This recent trip I took a cottage pie (although they call it Sheppard's Pie) home, which was everything I had hoped and expected. I love beef pies and can't wait to go get another one. During this visit I also got to try their sour cherry pie in a shake (who doesn't love shakes, ha ha) and I thought it was excellent. I would love to try just the pie al-a-mode next time. Staff are always friendly and ready to serve you. If you are hoping for more selection, ensure you go earlier in the day. We manage to always get here in the evening and the number of pies to choose from is less, but that's ok, they are still delicious.
google avatar

Colin B.

Yelp
Solid pie selection, the only one I miss is the butterscotch bourbon pie. Parking was kind of okay, but dicey when busy.
google avatar

Caroline C.

Yelp
We were hesitant to try this place out because we always find pies are too sweet. Our cousin took us here and swore that this place is worth a try. We are glad we listened to them because their pies were not too sweet at all, which meant they were REALLY GOOD. We got the apple pie and cookies & scream (Halloween pun), they were perfect! The service was also very friendly and they had a little standing area where we can quickly enjoy the pies.
google avatar

Yelp
I was so excited to have their pie- I got their strawberry rhubarb slice for $8.00 - Bummer so bland and not even sweet savory - I was bummed that I paid that price for blandness - I won't be back - service was meh -

Yelp
Found this place open and got there around 8pm. What a surprise to find amazing pies so late at night! Both wonderful and dangerous. Lol. I had to try the white chocolate banana cream pie and it was fantastic! Huge piece with many chunks of banana throughout. Not too sweet either so it didn't wreck your tastebuds, allowing you to finish the whole piece. Would highly recommend if you like pie. I do wish the crust was a little more flakey, mine was a little chewy, but overall very good. The place was nice and clean and very busy for 8pm. Glad to see a small business appearing to be thriving. They had berry pies, cream pies, and a shepherds pie, all on display and all looked great. Looked like they also sold pie dough for the DIY crowd, along with pints of ice cream. Great experience!
google avatar

Nathan L.

Yelp
Crème brûlée cheesecake was so good. They gave us one on the house as well. Tried it with our friends strawberry rhubarb pie and it was amazing
google avatar

Sherene H.

Yelp
Excellent pies! We got Seattle's best apple pie and it did not disappoint! We also added $2 for a huge scoop or vanilla ice cream to make it an alamode! Friendly service and cute decor inside. The aroma of all the pies is amazing. Definitely will be back next time in seattle. It's also located near the farmers market on Sundays!
google avatar

Yelp
Pick up in Issaquah location for holiday. There was a line and a list of 5 or 6 pages of patrons picking up. This is located in Sammamish Beach club area neighborhood

Yelp
Well, this made me so happy and hit the spot. Best lunch. I've had in a while being a cold day here in Seattle. This was exactly where I was looking for warm welcoming home feeling the chicken pot pie was excellent must have.

Vivienne C.

Yelp
I was craving an apple pie and thought I would give this place a try. Epic failure. The pie is RAW! ‍ I'm sorry to be so harsh, but this is a specialty pie shop and they can't even bake a basic apple pie! This is majorly disappointing. Save yourself a couple bucks and settle for mediocre pie from the market.
google avatar

Chris M.

Yelp
Tasty pie. Great service. Not much space for sitting but really cool decor. Will try again.
google avatar

Yelp
The pies at A la Mode Pies were delicious! The pies were so good I forgot to take photos! D: I ordered a slice of Peach Summer Pie and French Apple Pie, both $8 per slice. The Peach Summer pie was my favorite because of the fresh peaches that were stuffed in the pie. It was packed with peach sweetness and the crust was well baked. The French Apple pie was delicious but not as good as the peach one since it wasn's as sweet. My favorite part of the apple pie was the buttery crumble topping; the apple flavor wasn't very strong. Maybe overpowered by the cinnamon buttery crumble. The pies here are worth a try, but the price is what got me a bit. I wonder if $8 a slice is reasonable. The price of 2 slices equates to a meal now.

Yelp
In 2021, The Seattle Times deemed A La Mode Pie as the best place to get apple pie in the Seattle area (article below). With such esteemed recognition, how could I not try it?! They offer a variety of freshly baked pies, drinks and ice cream of course! You can order a full pie (most are $38), a slice ($8) or mini pie ($10). The mini pie is intended to serve two people, so it was the perfect size for me to taste what all the hype is about. Even less than one hour before closing, there was still a good amount of pies on the rack behind the counter. The kind employee boxed up my mini French Apple pie to-go, quickly processed my payment and then I was off! So... was this apple pie the best in the city? I'm disappointed to say that I wasn't blown away. It was not a bad pie, but given their award-winning recipe, I had pretty high expectations. Upon first glance, the crust and crumble were baked to a perfect golden brown, so that was a great sign. The crust itself was nice and buttery, but the streusel on top tasted somewhat bland. Normally, the filling is my favorite part, but this one fell flat for me. The apples were sliced thin and pretty mushy. They didn't have much flavor either and definitely needed more cinnamon and/or spice. However, I did enjoy the slight tartness of the apples and how the filling was essentially pure fruit rather than the goopy type that you find in a lot of pies. It also wasn't too sweet which was a plus. If you are in the area, I would suggest giving this spot a try and see what you think. Everyone has different tastes. Hopefully their other pies would be better, especially considering the pretty steep pricing. 3.25 stars. Yelp
Our group of friends were out to dinner with visiting family and the visitors wanted pie. The craving came from nowhere and could not be ignored. As we were on 35th Ave, it was a quick ride over to Alaska Junction for what is arguably some of the tastiest and largest helpings of homemade pie in the area. Upon arrival I saw they also offer savory pies like a breakfast hand pie, chicken pot pie, combo pizza hand pie, and cottage pie (advertised as Shepherds Pie but it has beef instead of lamb). Having had the sweet stuff, I'll be back for the savory. The group got slices of Key Lime, Cookies & Cream, Apple, Peanut Butter Mousse, Banana Cream w/ White Chocolate, and the seasonal special of Strawberry Rhubarb. Most were ordered a la mode with a healthy scoop of homemade ice cream. The Key Lime pie was fantastic, and my favorite by far. The amount of pies available though, is phenomenal, so if you are looking for something else - like a berry or cherry pie, fruit tart, cheesecake, or quiche - they've got it. I got a punch card, and that may have been a bad decision, because I know that I'll now pop in more than my waistline would want me to.
google avatar

Kai E.

Yelp
Living close to such an amazing pie place is very dangerous for my Sour cherry, chocolate caramel pecan tart, & Mexican chocolate are so so so good. Sour cherry pies are my absolute favorite, so I tend to go back to that one, but I recently tried the blue Hawaiian (blueberry, pineapple, coconut) and all it really tasted like was sugary blueberry. Even the crumble topping tasted like straight sugar. Wouldn't repurchase. But it was still good
google avatar

Danielle C.

Yelp
I tried a slice of Mexican Chocolate pie and it was tasty. The middle is mostly chocolate cream though which is ok but I prefer something closer to a pudding consistency. The crust was good, as was the white cream on top. Not too cloyingly sweet overall, I thought. There is some spice on top because this is Mexican chocolate. It's $8 for a slice which seems a little steep but the slice is fairly large and you could probably share with someone if you don't want a ton of pie. This establishment is pretty cute and I'd like to try more, especially the cookies and cream!
google avatar

Tyler M.

Yelp
Friendly staff. I've been there about five times now. Pretty good pies. The crusts are a little inconsistent. I'll keep returning. Always hits the spot late night.
google avatar

Jimmy T.

Yelp
A La Mode Pie is my favorite pie destination! The staff is friendly and always ready to assist. You absolutely have to try the Blue Hawaiian pie slice topped with vanilla ice cream--it's simply incredible! This place is a must-visit for pie lovers!
google avatar

Stephen P.

Yelp
Sour cherry,Mexican chocolate, Mint, lemon lavender cheesecake, chicken pot pie, shepherd pie. I'll keep going, got my punch card ready and fork in the other hand. Love this place!
google avatar

Justine D.

Yelp
Mmm. I love pie. We tried the strawberry rhubarb and the marionberry one. The marionberry was my favorite as it was fresh and reminded me of the Knotts Berry farm boysenberry pies. The strawberry rhubarb was way too sweet for me... to be fair, the guy at the counter did say it was the sweetest of all the fruit pies. I loved the tartness of the rhubarb but definitely bring your sweet tooth if you are getting that one. I must return and try their boozy pie shakes!
google avatar

Peka G.

Yelp
I came for the banana cream pie but they were all out so I assumed others wanted it to! I ended up getting a slice of the Oreo pie. It was good. There were lots of chunks of plain custard that had a bland flavor. But the Oreo pieces saved it. I'll hopefully try the banana cream one day!
google avatar

Andii S.

Yelp
I love to try places that serve my fave pie flavor--strawberry rhubarb. I'm pretty sure rhubarb is in season right now so I was excited to pop in here and see that they indeed had some for sale. It's really too bad though because it ended up being not that good. I enjoyed the crust more than the filling, and together it was just okay. I don't like when they make the filling too gooey with thickener, and this one had that gel consistency that just doesn't taste pleasant. Also it was $8 for one slice. Way too expensive for a fairly small slice of pie that's not delicious.
google avatar

Ryan J.

Yelp
Some people like cake and others like pie, but after coming here you'll be converted to a pie lover. After exploring West Seattle, I was craving something sweet and stumbled upon this place. They offer quite a lot of different flavors which all sound amazing. They even offer savory pies which are good for breakfast/lunch. Fortunately they sell it by the entire pie or by the slice which was perfect for me since I wanted to try it all haha! If you want a full pie, I'd recommend placing an order a day or more in advance. Despite my eagerness/excitement, I managed to narrow down my choices to Mexican Chocolate Mousse, Cookies n Cream, and Apple Ginger Pear. The only reason I got the apple ginger pear was because it was different, but it turns out I should've just stuck with the basic Apple pie because it wasn't as good as I had hoped. The Cookies n Cream was exactly what you would expect. Very close to the Oreo flavor, but you can clearly taste more cream compared to cookies. The winner of the night was hands down the Mexican chocolate. Yeah this one is a MUST have! It's got a tiny hint of cinnamon to just throw your taste buds on a rollercoaster. It's thick and smooth without being too dense. The next morning I came back for their Chocolate Banana Cream pie which is everything you love about banana cream pie with the added bonus of chocolate flavor! This is a seasonal that they only sell on weekends so make sure to get it when you see it! I'd also recommend putting your pies in your fridge for 30 min to an hour if you prefer that firmer texture.
google avatar

Colin A.

Yelp
Seriously Awesome!! The flavors and ingredients were incredible. It's by far my favorite new desert place! Fun & inviting environment. The staff was fun as well!

Dayna W.

Yelp
We eaten the Mexican chocolate mousse and the marionberry hazelnut pies. Both were very delicious. Not sure if the prices prove that the pies are really worth it.
google avatar

Andrea K.

Yelp
Fantastic little spots for pies! We split a couple of the personal pies and loved both the Apple and Hawaiian ones! Not a ton of seating, but very nicely decorated and some cute fun T-shirts to purchase! This definitely feels like an upscale pie place, not your grandmothers, old school bakery.
google avatar

Maureen K.

Yelp
I bought 2 small fruit pies. I was very disappointed: the crust was soft and the fillings were bland.
google avatar

Kara W.

Yelp
Cute spot. Found it on date night. Large selection offered but we went so late at night many were sold out. I had the Marionberry Hazelnut alamode and he had the White Chocolate Banana creme pie. Both were delicious.

Yelp
I'm on the east coast now, and my beloved Mother is still in West Seattle. Yesterday was the first birthday she's had since I graduated college in 83 that we haven't lived in the same city. As much as I wanted to be there to celebrate her, on her birthday, it wasn't possible this year. She loves pies, sweet and savory. So, I sent pies - or rather - I made arrangements to have pies from A La Mode Pies delivered. I wonder if you can imagine how good it made me feel to receive this text message and accompanying photo from her... "Today started with a bang. I opened my door to a handsome man with two bags in his hands, a smile on his face and a husky voice greeting... Happy 94th Birthday Beverly. In the world of birthdays this has to be the winner, yummy food and a red carpet presentation...the day had only started and it was already made." It goes without saying that the pies from ALMP (A La Mode Pies) are exceptional, as is evidenced by hundreds of positive reviews. The special attention they showed, personalizing the happy birthday wishes - which they did on their own, speaks to the character of the people that make up ALMP. Delicious food is the baseline for discerning consumers. When the food is prepared and delivered by people who so obviously care about their guests and customers it's just so much better. Mom/Beverly reports that the Key Lime pie is her favorite Key Lime pie of all time (did I mention she's been eating pie for nine decades?), and the Shepards Pie and Chicken Pot Pie warmed her belly and her heart. Thank you A La Mode Pies, I'll be there for dinner and desert as soon as I'm back in Seattle!

Yelp
If I could, I would give 3.5 stars. Here's a breakdown of the pros and cons (from my experience): The good: - Open until 9:00pm, so it's a good place to get your late dessert cravings - Friendly workers - Some really cool flavors - Staff wears COVID protective gear - Pies taste delicious - I got two flavors, one slice of the cookies and cream and one of the chocolate caramel pecan tart The bad: - Not many flavors available late at night. I came at 8:45pm and they were already closing up. Furthermore, rather than giving me the slice of the new pie, they gave me the last slice of a pie that had been sitting out for a long time (granted, this is my own fault for coming late) - Really expensive for small slices. For my two slices, I paid $11 dollars - the tart was a decent size but the cookies and cream slice was way smaller than I expected based off the photos here on yelp - The Chocolate Caramel Pecan pie had barely any chocolate, it simply tasted like caramel and pecan and was super sweet I would give this place another chance because it does taste very good - but I'll be coming earlier in the day :)

Yelp
Cute little pie shop in the west Seattle retail strip. They have fresh slices/whole pies and pie ice cream to go as well as to eat there. They also have coffee becerages and boozy milkshakes. There are a number of food allergy/dietary restriction options as well. It's expensiveish for pie but you're paying for the experience too. Overall I thought the pies were just ok, so for the price I probably wouldn't come here often. But if you're nearby and hankering for pie, then this might be the place for you.

Cecilia

Yelp
darn good pie! Love it love it! The only downside of this place is that they sell out sometimes.

Yelp
Oh good gawwwwd the strawberry rhubarb warmed with a scoop of vanilla ice cream?!?! It WRECKED MY SOUL! I can't wait to dig into the Marionberry Hazelnut!!! Love this pace!!!

Yelp
Stumbled upon this place as we were walking around West Seattle. Very tasty and such a kind employee helping us decide what kind of pie we wanted to try. Generous portion (as you can see in the photo) and cute store! Would love to try another slice or one of their pie milkshakes :)
