À L'Ancestrale B&B

In all of our travels my husband and I have never felt so much at home as we did at this lovely B and B in Magog. This is an old heritage home beautifully decorated with antiques. It is a short walk to the restaurants, shops, and parks in the town. An easy drive takes you to many other quaint villages in the Eastern Townships. |But it is the superior care that the owner Lyn puts into her B and B that makes all the difference. Breakfast is a multi-course pleasure of juice, cheese and bread, fruit, yogurt, and an absolutely delicious main course. Plan your day so you will not rush through your breakfast. You will not need lunch, trust me.||The front parlor is inviting and a great way to end your day with a cup of tea. We were so lucky to have Lyn’s sons play the piano and violin for us on different nights. They are both very talented and so kind to entertain us. ||And an extra thanks to Lyn for accommodating my gluten free diet with many tasty dishes.

Great hosts, excellent breakfast, and very close to the main street. One plus is that the house is not on the main streets of Magog so the location is very quiet. The hosts were very friendly and were always making sure that we were comfortable with the stay. Recommend to anyone travelling to Magog.

Me and four friends arrived with a very empty cup from Vermont and we left after not even 24 hours as if coming from a short vacation. Between Magog, always worth a trip with its vibrant restaurant and shopping scene, a little SPA 5 minutes from the house and being in walking distance to the lake, everything was so easy and comfortable! But the highlight really was the way Lynn and Eric and their sons made us feel more like house guests than paying customers. One of the best BnB experiences ever! Highly recommended.

We had such a great stay at L’Ancestrale. From arrival to departure it was wonderful: charming premises, fabulous room, delicious breakfasts, super friendly hosts who were always available and had excellent recommendations on things to so, places to eat, routes to take.… The location is awesome, on a quiet tree lined street within easy walking distance of Magog restaurants and shops. 10/10 all round!

Lyn and Eric are lovely!! It really really felt like home ! The room was super clean and beautiful. Everything was beyond our expectations !! Definitely recommended !

We loved staying here! Lyn and Eric have created a great space that makes you feel right at home. They are so kind and we loved getting to chat with them (so many interesting stories). The breakfast is amazing too — Lyn’s crepes are delicious 😋 The room was very cozy and spacious. Location is perfect and only a few minutes walking distance from town. We can’t wait to come back. What a wonderful stay! Lyn could not have been more gracious. She was the perfect hostess. And the room was very cozy and charming. It’s incredible how clean and authentic she keeps this gorgeous Victorian home. Her teenage sons even played violin and piano for the guests! The breakfast was delicious… fresh fruit and crackers with local cheese, freshly baked chocolate croissants we got to try Turkish eggs. We can’t say enough about this place. Wish we could stay for a week!! Thank you!

Really nice 3-night stay and totally enjoyed Lyn's hospitality. Nice to sit in front of the wood-burning fireplace and enjoying her son's violin mastery. Walking to downtown pretty close and easy. Very welcoming home and great hospitality.
