A Margem

This is a tough one cuz normally I would not come to a place like this , just would not be on my radar, that being said I was pleasantly surprised, the food was what was to be expected and lovely , Service was prompt and efficient total English speaking. It is definitely one of just two fine dining seafood restaurants in Afrauda, so if your looking to not smell like bbq smoke after lunch or dinner this would be the place , yes people say it is expensive, Meh! So you pay little more for the environment and white linen table cloth , quit complaining, the food is better and far less expensive then what you’d be paying stateside .

The food is incredibly good, presentable and fresh, the view from the restaurant is pretty good, with the Douro river. I did my wedding lunch here and I don't have anything to complain about, the owner was so kind and the prices are quite good for all the amazing food we had. Thank you so much for having us!

Went with colleges for the Christmas dinner, but I didn’t eat. There was an issue this day, apparently the main chef quit that day 😱🤷‍♀️ The dinner started at 20:00 but the food only arrived at 22:30, apparently due to the chef. Not one single person said the food was great, some complained a bit, like being cold. For sure it was not much food. The desserts were big, but again no great compliments. The staff was very friendly. And the drinks kept on coming. The menu was expensive 28€ but had sommersby included, which is not a common thing. The place as a nice view 🥰 The French fries looked delicious, but the feedback that I got was they really weren’t good 😥 It probably was just a very bad day 😥

We had a wonderful lunch at A Margem with friends today - Thursday, November 21. We all had fish - different types. One couple had Hake, my wife and I had Robalo and another friend had the Salmon. All delicious and good portions with potatoes and vegetables. Our server Mariana was very friendly and attentive, and just a lot of fun overall. Highly recommend A Margem and we'll definitely be going back!

Very special place, with an elegant atmosphere. I highly recommand if you wanna try out some fine revisited or classical Portuguese dishes.

It is a good place, with very good and fresh fish. Asked for the seafood rice and the portions do not disappoint. However, they go very strong with the amount of salt they put in the food. The prices are steep but I reckon that fair for what you get. Usually the portions for two people are enough for 3/4 people.

A Margem is a welcoming restaurant with excellent fish dishes. Afurada has many wonderful fish restaurants but A Margem still stands out. My favorite is the hake and their marisco sopa is very flavorful. Mariana is always so kind and helpful with deboning dishes such as sea bass - thank you Mariana. The desserts are also wonderful with the bolo de bolacha my favorite - it's too good to share. The wine list is a good selection with different price points. Go and enjoy yourself!

This slightly more posh restaurant along the Douro River offers delicious fish and seafood with excellent wine and very friendly service. A marvelous 10 year old Port wine rounded off a superb day in Afurada
