Incredible spot for a 5 euro meal! Got the caldo verde cabbage soup with chorizo and the merendeira (bread roll).

Google
Outstanding hangover food (or just in general tbh), the menu is simply a variation of chourizo bread (pão com chouriço), a drink, Caldo Verde soup, and an expresso. I need to emphasize that this is one of the best chourizo bread that I've ever had, and I'm Portuguese born and raised. I should also point out that this isn't a chourizo sandwich. The chourizo is placed into the bread dough during the doughing process, and then stone oven baked, allowing the fat and flavour of the chourizo to seep into the bread during baking. This is now one of my top places to visit whenever I visit, it's really that good and my mouth is now watering just thinking about it.

Last time i came here regularly, i had a nokia phone. Back then, it was a mandatory late night/early morning stop after clubbing downtown. It was the best option then and still is now on colder days for some warm and comfort traditional snacks. It hits differently during the day/lunch, i kinda liked and miss late night chaotic energy.

A post-night out landmark in Lisbon. A usual spot after going out for drinks during my teenage years, for "Pão com chouriço" and "caldo verde" and was happy to see it's still open and thriving after nearly 30 years! Maybe i got unlucky but got barely any chouriço in the caldo verde 🥺 Inexpensive, hot, tasty food. And a massive sized "Merenda" made on a stone oven. Give it a go after a night out and some drinks, you'll find it a great treat!

So much better than McDonalds over the corner. Real Portuguese simple food. Love the menu duo - so good value for money and the best soup caldo verde, huge chorizo bread hot from oven.

The set meal was tasty, filling and good value. The bread is particularly good. We also ordered a veggie sandwich which was flavoursome and loaded. It’s very informal, order at the counter and there are seats inside and on the pavement.

A wonderful local cuisine experience. I had the Menu Merendeira. The soup was delicious, and the bread was super fresh and warm. It paired perfectly with the cold beer. For dessert, the rice pudding (or sütlaç for the Turks) had the perfect amount of sugar. It was a great lunch stop on the way to the city center after Belem.

Welcoming and kind staff, big seating area, airy and clean and food at unbeatable price! Food is freshly prepared and delicious! Menu is simple, yet efficient. Easy payment options and ordering. Deals are incredible and no wait whatsoever. They have free water station and variety of condiments and spices to suit your needs.

This place still lives to the expectation I had. If you are looking for comfort local food it’s not he place to go. I loved the authenticity and vibe of the place. For the Price it’s definitely a good deal

Yelp
This place is one of those eateries that have existed across generations and become an institution by itself. It's a place frequented by the locals but thankfully not many tourists know of this. Hence the price level is low and the food is great. Value for money at its best. You walk in through the old solid wood doors and come to a place that is at once charming and old age. The service was quick and efficient and friendly. All in all a great experience.

Yelp
The best money we've spent in Lisbon! Food/Drink: Their 5.90 euro meal is definitely worth every penny and the best value for money we've seen anywhere. For 6 euros you get all the classic Portuguese foods of sausage sandwich, the green kale soup, a dessert, a drink, as well as a coffee! Price: 6 euros for the menu but they also have a 3 euros option for just a sandwich and the soup. Atmosphere: It's a very casual eatery - more like fast food restaurant than anything. There's plenty of indoor seating so make yourself comfortable! Tips: They don't give you the coffee right away with the meal, rather you're supposed to go up and ask for it at the end of the meal - very European!

Yelp
The caldo verde really needs salt, but otherwise it's amazing! I just got the menu sopa, with just caldo verde and the chorizo bread. 3€50. The bread was piping hot, fresh out of the oven, filled with tons of chorizo. The service wasn't anything phenomenal but it's a STEAL! Lisbon was not nearly as cheap as I had anticipated so it was nice having a hearty meal. And you can tell this is what Lisbon is about. Lots of local workers were here getting food. Also, it's open super late! perfect late night food

Yelp
The price for what you get here is great. The atmosphere feels tavern like and I enjoyed that, but when it comes to the food, I'd say meh. The Caldo Verde was pretty bland. I've made better myself in fact. I will say though that their Pão com Chouriço was loaded with chorizo so no complaints there. It's also convenient that they are open during the night shift - 7pm-6am so if everything else is closed you know you can get a cheap and quick bite here.

Yelp
This is regular stop for a group I ride bicycles with. In my opinion it serves it's purpose without any pretension. The Pão com Chouriço is off the chain fantastic. It's the only thing I order. They do it very well. I usually order it with a beer and I'm good to go. Again, nothing elegant here, just really great Pão com Chouriço at a very low price. If you're hungry this is the place to go.

Yelp
Delicious traditional caldo verde soup with oven baked sausage sandwich. Tasty rice pudding. Good value for money.

Yelp
When you can walk into a restaurant drunk on a Tuesday (Wednesday) morning at 4 am and order kale soup and a chorizo sausage sandwich, you can't help but believe in a higher power...
