"Solid Vietnamese Fare Popular With Locals and Tourists Alike Unlike many of the cookie-cutter Vietnamese restaurants in Hanoi , there's a good reason why many tour groups are brought here for their lunch. There are a la carte menus on offer, but most guests prefer to opt for the "popular" meal, which involves pointing at steaming vats containing things like Chinese braised pork and fat juicy ribs."

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ New Day Restaurant is a nice spot right in the middle of Hanoi 📍. The place has a good atmosphere for groups 👨‍👩‍👧 and serves a wide variety of local Vietnamese dishes 🍲🐸🔥🍚. We tried the fresh frog, hotpot, and classic fried rice – everything was flavorful and authentic, though the portion sizes felt a little small for the price 💸. The restaurant is lively yet casual, and what’s great is you don’t need to worry about reservations 🚶‍♂️, just walk in and you’ll usually find a table. Overall, a solid choice if you want to sample different local flavors in one place ✨.

The place was clean, lots of tourists, friendly staff with perfect English. I love the street table settings for people watching and the nice ambience at night with the lights. I ordered bun cha, it tasted good but the sauce was a little bit too sweet for me. The fried spring rolls were really good tho. Coconut was really fresh and sweet ☺️🥥

We heard very good reviews about this Place however after travelling from the south to the north of Vietnam we found this food to be quite expensive compared to other places and the food did not have as much flavour. The food was ok and place was clean, full of tourists eating however no one seemed to be excited or showing they liked the food. I don’t know how to explain but in the other cities people seemed to be excited and enjoying the food, chatting and there was “colour”. It seemed a bit grey here if that makes sense? 😂

We remembered eating in this restaurant during our last visit to Hanoi in 2018. It was always packed then, seems less so now. There are lots of staff but it is still difficult to get attention at times as they seem to spend a lot of time chatting amongst themselves. We ended up eating here twice for lunch and twice for dinner during our 4 day stay as it is one of the few restaurants offering alcohol other than beer at less exorbitant prices. That said their gin and tonics were very weak and Dalat wine, whilst only priced by the bottle on the menu is better value by the glass. Food comes quickly but luckily we have learned to order main courses after we had eaten starters. It was mixed in quality. We loved the pork omelette we had for lunch and the spring rolls we shared as a starter. Chicken with lemongrass and garlic was also excellent. However accompanying rice portions were tiny and when we asked for more we were charged extra. We noticed the portions were much larger for Vietnamese. The pork ribs with garlic and chilli was quite chewy although they did try to persuade us to have them with the BBQ sauce instead. A bonus is that cards are accepted for payment without an extra charge

If you like Guangdong dishes, this restaurant serves quite similar taste for the fried menu. Other than that, their vietnamese dishes are authentic and tasty. Staff are friendly and tourist oriented. The positive way. Price is higher due to it is located in the heart of Old Quarter.

The New Day restaurant has a simple facade but they serve good food. We enjoyed our three dishes we ordered. The staff is English speaking and they are all so polite. The price is very reasonable. Ambiance is not too hot inside.

Visited April 9th 2024. This was the best restaurant I encountered during my 11 day stay in Vietnam. The staff were wonderful and the food was marvelous! Especially the tofu (the one with mushrooms). The prices were also reasonable thought I don’t remember the exact amount. I really wish I can visit again someday.

A fantastic restaurant in Hanoi! It’s really clean and modern but still very authentic and attracts not only tourists but also many locals. The menu is very big with a lot of different foods. I can recommend the Pho which is very flavourful and the steamed aubergine which has a very nice sauce. We went there a couple of times and the service always was excellent. The prices are very good for the quality
