"This spellbinding, Cirque du Soleil–style production at Ho Chi Minh City’s Municipal Theater, also known as the Opera House, turns to rural Vietnam for its inspiration. Mixing muscular acrobatics, visual artistry, juggling, and modern dance, the show employs the materials commonly found in villages as the basis for its routines. Recurring motifs include the bowl-shaped coracle-style boats still widely used in the country, and bamboo poles (used for balancing and as tracks during one particularly confounding, Rube Goldberg–style, conveyor-belt-type passage). As memorable as the nonstop action on stage is the live music, dominated by the haunting sounds of the dan bau, or gourd lute."

The show was amazing, so much skill was displayed through out the show. There are some classical local music and story but also a lots of funny stories in between. The beatbox in the middle was very interesting! The speaker was terrible from the balcony section, you can hear a broken speaker from the right hand side facing the stage. Also they very strict with taking photos and videos and follow through when someone break the rules which nice to see. However I got point with Lazer twice with my watch so maybe put your smart watch in the bag?! You can take a photo with a team after the show which is very nice! Beautiful building! The online ticket come with welcome drinks which is unexpected as it didn't mention at the time of booking!

The first time I went to see a show with so many emotions. The show is about rural life, old fishing villages of Vietnam. The way of joking, tumbling is skillful. Especially the actors. You did a great job. Many people think the ticket price is quite high. But trust me, it's worth seeing. Try it once.

Absolutely incredible show! I see a lot of theater and it’s been a while since I’ve been truly in awe of what I’m watching. This was a 10/10 experience. There are two locations in Vietnam, definitely go to at least one!!

We were highly recommended this show by a friend that saw it last year. It was absolutely amazing! And is an absolute “must do” experience. The performers were incredibly skilled, athletic and precise. There was even some incredible beatboxing which I wasn’t expecting. We booked well in advance to ensure we got tickets. We sat in the bottom (A section I think) row G, and had a great view. Seeing the inside of the opera house alone is probably worth the price of admission. Come early and enjoy a welcome drink (we had a peach and lemongrass iced tea).

TL; DR Production is very good. Go see it. Direct booking purchase via Lune website, not a third party such as Klook, is a bait and switch. The show is approximately one hour as other attendees have mentioned. The Nha Hat Thanh Pho (literal translation the Singing House of the City) is a beautiful and historical French architectural structure. Be ready to take your Insta pics with the lights after the show! I’m very disappointed that Lune provided a gaslighting response to my question of why the seat I purchased on their website was switched. I selected an Aisle seat, E1, for the 6pm show and received an email confirmation. This seat is in ooh! (O) section for d 1,250,000. However, after purchasing and receiving the email, the e-ticket changed to E13. Why did this happen? I know what I purchased and it was an aisle seat. Not an interior seat. Even though they attempted to explain to me otherwise. I paid a premium for the aisle seat but inconveniently (or conveniently, depending on your perspective) the email itself doesn’t show the actual seat. You click on a link for the e-ticket and viola my aisle seat at E1 became an interior seat at E13. /S 🤪. By the way, the adjacent E15 seat (odds and evens by L/R side, respectively, for you theater goers) is an Ahh (A); thus the A O title reference, is d 450,000 cheaper. That is my PSA, be aware, maybe book through Klook instead as it’s actually cheaper. But have fun as the show is good. Just left a bad taste for this particular attendee. And they didn’t try to make it better. Enjoy HCMC!!

Definitely not worth it. Mediocre at best, comparable to a high school show. Skillwise nothing special. Acoustics are terrible. Seats are outdated, they gave us a cushion because i complained that i could feel the wood underneath my seat and this was the so called "wow" section. Performers not in sync, theatrical aspect was chaotic. The "Bamboo element" of the show consist of mainly rolling and throwing around some bamboo baskets and doing visually not impressive choreographs. Welcome drink is a joke. Comparing this to cirque de soleil is an insult.

If you are in Ho Chi Minh, then you should definitely watch this show. They gave you welcome drinks and a short tour of the Opera House’s history. We had a great time experiencing the arts of what Vietnam had to offer. Overall, it was a great evening.
