Lovely combination bookstore and coffee shop. The seating is comfortable and the Wi-Fi is good but beware in the warm season it gets very hot inside. They do have a few fans but you're still going to sweat.

I love taking a pause to journal and admire art during my trips to Vallarta at this little cafe bookstore gallery in Zona! Consistently delicious drinks and courteous staff. It is cash-only payments, so be prepared for that.

I really enjoyed the experience of browsing the shelves while enjoying the art and atmosphere inside this charming and welcoming bookstore/Cafe. I could see this space being a hub for young intelligent minds, or, those who love getting lost in a story on a stormy summer day while sipping a warm beverage. A Page in the Sun is a worthwhile detour if you're hitting the beach vibe of the malacon. Grab a good read and hunker down into the best spot on the beach.

Best coffee shop in the area! It has become a standard part of my morning routine (they have liquor as well if you need a little “hair of the dog” in your morning brew). They also have great breakfast that is served all day. There’s a local art gallery inside on top of used books in English. The only downside is that there’s no AC so hanging out inside is pretty warm even under one of the many ceiling fans.

We came here three times during our vacation. For context: I am Colombian and speak Spanish fluently as it is my first language. My wife is American and is practicing her Spanish, improving every day. The first day we came was a Friday. I did all of the ordering, helped to pay, and interacted with Employee 1. She seemed very content interacting with other locals afterwards. The coffee was good, my sandwich was dry, but ultimately it was just breakfast, and we made it work. That night, my wife went in and got another coffee from Employee 2, who was lovely. My wife asked her for help practicing her Spanish, and the lady at the counter was so kind and helpful. The following day, Saturday, my wife went by herself because she felt confident after the good interactions we’d had the day before. Employee 1 was there again and recognized my wife! My wife ordered a cold brew coffee and two bagels with cream cheese. We’re still new to the currency, and she had two 20s, but each one was printed in a different color. My wife asked Employee 1 for clarity while making her order, only to receive the rude response: “You need to figure out your money.” My wife apologized and told her she was uncomfortable and sorry, explaining that she was still learning and just needed help. All she wanted was a little guidance. She also thought she had two 200-peso bills. Thinking she had dropped one, she asked, “Did I accidentally drop 200 pesos?” Before my wife could clarify, the lady snatched the bill from behind the counter and said, “This is mine, not yours,” again very rudely. My wife sat and waited for her food, crying because of how much this lady had diminished her confidence. When the lady finally brought the food over, she only attempted to apologize after seeing my wife crying. We’ve been here for a week and have not experienced a single ounce of disrespect like this anywhere else. I have no idea where it came from, and I don’t care if you were having a bad day or if you’re sorry. Understand that your mistreatment of people is seen, heard, and now noted. Come here if you speak Spanish, understand the language, and know how the money works. But if you are from anywhere else in the world, are still learning, and are willing to try, it’s best to avoid this spot. JUST BE NICE TO PEOPLE???? SHOW KINDNESS!!! How is that so hard?! HELP PEOPLE! I tried to post this also in Spanish and unfortunately it’s too long for a review. So you’ll have to send it translate.

I stopped there for a cafe and ended up having a work call from there. Good service and friendly staff. The coffee was good! Nested in the heart of zona romantica close to the central plaza. The cafe is spacious and is also a library where you can read while sipping your coffee. The books can also be bought. You can sit indoors at the tables or sofa or be on the terrace. The person who served my table was super friendly and accommodating.

Google
A perfect spot for a relaxing coffee. I was warmly welcomed with a friendly smile. It felt a little hidden but it really is a charming and cozy café. We enjoyed their delicious pie, and I was pleasantly surprised by their thoughtful selection of books (in French too!!) and the captivating art gallery. It was overall a truly inviting space to unwind and soak in a bit of creativity.

Excellent cafe with amazing coffee drinks, desserts and books to enjoy while in this space. Staff is knowledge and very friendly. The brownies were phenomenal, cookies were delicious, bagged coffee for home use was incredible, cakes scrumptious and the coffee beverages I choose were made extremely well. Within the same building is the Demetro Galería, by sculptor/artist, Jim Demetro. Incredible place to view art, read a book, or have a conversation... All while enjoying a great cup of coffee! 👍👍

Yelp
Great cafe for people watching. Located on the Lazaro Cardenas park. Good coffee. Older books for sale.

Yelp
A cute cafe with artsy vibes filled the cafe. Bookshelves on one side, while the other wall filled with some artist and their works. The entire place has a chill atmosphere. Loved it!

Yelp
atención del mesero, café, ambiente. muchas opciones para comer y sillas muy comidas.

Yelp
Some of the best chilaquiles I had there. This place is lovely to sit and read a book, drink coffee and be grateful that you're in PV instead of back home. I also had a mango smoothie and it was perfectly blended.
google avatar

Jordan C.

Yelp
We have tried a bunch of coffee shops in PV and this is one of the best. The place itself is an art gallery/bookstore/restaurant/coffee shop, all in one. We order hot and iced lattes, but all of the food that comes out as we have been waiting looks great.
google avatar

Sisounthone S.

Yelp
Good food and service. Nothing fancy but good chilaquiles verde with chicken and egg. Cash only.
google avatar

Ryan A.

Yelp
This is a cute little bookstore cafe that has tasty food. I had the chilaquiles with red sauce and chicken. The chicken was amazing. My partner had the same thing but with the green sauce. I'd recommend the green sauce and will be having that when I go back.

Yelp
Located in downtown puerto Vallarta, this coffee was the perfect stop to caffeine up right before a busy day! They have menus in English and in Spanish. I ordered an iced toffee flavored latte with an extra shot. It was delicioso. My friends tried the hazelnut and caramel flavored ones and liked them but my preference was still for the toffee. They accept USD and not credit. You'll get pesos back in change also. There wasn't AC but it's a cute spot if you're in the area and need a pick me up.

Yelp
This used to be my go to hangout mid day to people watch, have a beverage, maybe a light breakfast or lunch. Use the Wi-Fi to catch up on news. Something changed since they've become an art gallery instead of just a café and bookstore. The ambience isn't the same as before. Instead of a cozy bookstore with a myriad of places to sit, everything is a modern bright white. A color scheme and style that I generally love, but not in a bookstore that happens to be a café. I guess that it's gallery first, café second, and the bookstore just rounds it out now. So I limited my visit to once this trip, had a coffee. When I sat down outside, it was perfect. A few people enjoying their food and company. I am sure people use this location to transact business all of the time, one gentleman decided to sit right next to me and make loud phone call after loud phone call with the same script. There were other tables further away and open. I guess I could have asked him to lower his voice or I could have even moved. When he chose his seat, he could have been more aware of his surroundings. It was not worth a confrontation as I was early in my vacation and waiting 15 minutes for an appointment elsewhere. But it certainly put a damper on things. I do realize this was not the business' fault. The servers were as attentive and happy as normal.

Yelp
Bibliophile's paradise for used books! It's such a nice, cozy cafe in Puerto Vallarta. Most of the books are in English and they are very affordable. I picked up Robert T Koyosaki's "Retire Young, Retire Rich" for 5 pesos. On Amazon, it's retailed for $13 USD. A tribute to the common theme where many Americans come to Puerto Vallarta to retire affordably. (Beach front luxury for about $350k-$400k - another level of gentrification, but that's another discussion) Oh, and the coffee is amazing! Best Coffee I had in Puerto Vallarta. The resort coffees don't even come close. I had the latte and there was a rich chocolately taste. By the way, it's 39 pesos. (about $2) So for about $3 USD, you can have one of the best afternoons during your visit (of course, after having enough of the sun/booze/partying) Not all books are 5 pesos. The newer ones are a little more expensive (up to 300 pesos). The prices are written on the back of the front cover. Pesos only. If you had American dollars, they might not have enough to provide you change.

Yelp
Funky Book Store, Coffee House , Bakery, fantastic location in El Centro park. Food shelter and looked delish. Busy place. Not very big. Good atmosphere.
google avatar

Jessica W.

Yelp
I took a $3 Uber here from my hotel and bought a couple used books and got a credit for a book. Super cute spot and a good starting spot to walk along the water and look at all the sculptures. They had lots of English books to choose from - you will definitely find something to read. There was a cozy atmosphere inside of single people reading or on laptops. Outside felt a bit more touristy and social. I'll go back if I return to PV.

Yelp
Went here a few times while in Puerto vallarta. Staff are friendly, especially in the evening. They have local art and many books. You can sit inside or out. Its cash only, which isn't a shock. Most places around town are. Wish they had a few more gluten free options, but one can dream. They did have flan, which I was not up for trying, but it looked delicious.
google avatar

Jallil T.

Yelp
Got recommendations from our Uber driver to try this place. He was on point when he said how good it was!! Really delish!! I got the Soy berry smoothie. To try to get in some yoirgist and berries. Has almost and soy milk too. Taste delish! H They have beautiful art work here. As well as plenty of books to grab and ready. Outside dining and WiFi Apparently. Cut place. In the downtown area! Really convenient can't get enough!

Yelp
Best books in town I've seen. Nuff said. And if you want a Coca-Cola you got it xoxo love this place and go on the reg. Muy bueno

Yelp
I am so happy we found this little place while 2 were wondering around. It was our refugee from the sun and from the rain while we were Puerto Vallarta. It reminds me of a small comfy bookstore, but they serve food, pastry, and a pretty good array of drinks. I didn't get to try the coffee or mochas or tea. I did have their fruit smoothies and I totally love them! I had their mango smoothie birth times were there. We sat there, relaxed, people watched, and just spend time together. You could just pull a book from the shelves and spend hours there. Oh, the books are for sale. They seemed to be a collection of old books. The service was very friendly, they spoke English and helped when I attempted Spanish. They were very helpful when I asked what was in a pastry, what was in my smoothie, etc. This also has a nice clean restroom, for those that want to know. And it's not too far from the beachside.

Yelp
Great place to buy trade or hangout and have a cup of joe. We have been there 3 times this week. We have bought books and we also traded in books for a credit that you can use to get a new book. Place is large and they have seats outside.

Yelp
Good food and coffee. Pleasant spot, a refuge from the busy vacationing agenda. Plenty of menu options, respectful attentive staff, pet friendly. Prices are current with the local market, didn't notice any over pricing on the menu. Very near boardwalk, it was a Perfect spot for our budget. Definitely recommend and we will return every time we visit PV.

Yelp
A hidden gem in Old Vallarta. The coffee is good, and so is their homemade chai! We were looking for a local place to have some good coffee in town, and the concierge recommended this place. It's cute, artsy, and LGBT friendly. They have pride flags and memorabilia displayed throughout (!). We ordered flavored lattes and their homemade chai. The chai was absolutely delicious - not too sweet! The lattes were good, but the waitress forgot the vanilla syrup in one. We also ordered a homemade chocolate chip oatmeal cookie, which was good, but more oatmeal than chocolate, and a little dry. Bonus points for the ginormous size, though! They have almond and soy milk for those of you who are looking for dairy free. Pay this place a visit if you're looking for some good coffee and a relaxing place to chill!

Yelp
We know we're espresso snobs from America with Italian heritage but wanted to leave an honest review- the coffee was disappointing. We were traveling in a party of 3, got three different drinks, and didn't like any of them. That being said, the atmosphere was incredible!! There were bookshelves everywhere filled with beautiful literature, art displayed on the walls, the only thing missing was a cat! . Service was also very friendly.

Yelp
Yummy food, nice atmosphere and boooookks! Highly recommend this spot for breakfast. And there is also some fun art to look at. Nice place to perch.

Yelp
In A Nutshell: -A Page in the Sun is both a cafe & used bookstore. -The Mexicano Coffee & Iced Americano coffee were both just okay. -The Mexican Huevos & Chicken Baguette were also really nothing too special, so I can't really write much more. -As mentioned in line one, you can buy used books, which are sorted alphabetically by author first/last name. Overall, it's an average coffee shop.
google avatar

Yelp
My Focaccia with pesto was delicious. Fast and courteous service. It has a calm soothing ambiance. We had a mocha latte with almond milk, nothing out of the ordinary but good. Overall this is a good place to enjoy a savory meal. I will be coming back.

Yelp
Great coffee. Everything was well prepared and fresh as can be. Fruit bowl and the BLT Was fantastic. Would highly recommend! Thanks

Yelp
A-List. Highly Recommended. Excellent location just across from the town square and a quick walk to the beach. Best coffee, smoothies and shakes. Diverse food menu. All day Breakfast. Part coffee shop, restaurant, book store and art gallery. Grab a drink or have a meal and stay awhile. Comfortable seating including couches. Read a book, if you wish. You can also purchase a book. Prices are on the back of the front cover. I've seen prices from 45 p to 180 p. The art is pretty interesting and on the pricy side but worth a gaze from time to time. Internet is free and fast for guests. Management is solid and the servers are some of the best in PV - knowledgeable, kind, respectful. Some speak English. Once you visit you will want to return. This establishment is CASH only. Great place to get out of the heat of the day and let the day take you where it wants to. As always, for real. You be the judge.

Yelp
The Page in the Sun looked interesting on our morning walk to find a local breakfast so we thought we would try it out. WOW, what a find! The drip coffee is full of flavor! The Chilaquiles with a sunny side egg, chicken and green sauce was absolutely delicious! The chicken was full of flavor and NOT dry! The Rancheros was also delicious! The red sauce was so flavorful! It might be off the beaten path and a little whole in the wall but man won't you be surprised! I highly recommend it for a good, local and reasonable place!!
google avatar

David D.

Yelp
Really good coffee, nice indoor atmosphere, a little pricey. But of course you're at the beach.

Hannah K.

Yelp
Love this place!!! I came back multiple times during my stay in Puerto Vallarta. Highly recommend the huevos rancheros or the chilaquiles with green sauce

Yelp
Employees are really friendly, the coffee and smoothie were delicious and the location is in a perfect spot to relax.
google avatar

Yelp
Such a great, easy choice for breakfast in the Zona; they're open before 8 AM, which is rare in PV. You can get eggs done anyway you want--or their ways. Books and art, along with locally-made pastries and pie. What more do you need to start the day?
google avatar

Tom C.

Yelp
Nice little spot to take a coffee break . Free books to read and free wi fi. A little iced coffee and cheese cake makes for a nice pick me up .
google avatar

Dawn D.

Yelp
Book prices were kinda steep for a bunch of used beach reads. However, it's a great place to just relax around books. And dogs. I loved their peanut butter banana smoothie and their sangria. And the staff was always friendly.
google avatar

Earl T.

Yelp
I'm often in PV and this is one of my favorite stops. I can trade in any books that I read and I always find another interesting book to purchase or trade for the ride home. Lots of books. Best secret is their bagels and coffee.

D H.

Yelp
The guy behind the counter is an idiot. I was asked to wear a mask, when every other guest there was maskless. Total idiot. How dare he singles me out when everyone else was not asked to mask up? Anyway, i walked out, never to return.
google avatar

Kevin S.

Yelp
I first came to this place years ago when it was up in the hills. Since I love literature and learning so much, it naturally appeals to me. When I am traveling alone, I don't want to always hang out in bars where people are out on the prowl. I'm happily married, so that is not always a good idea.
google avatar

Katie B.

Yelp
Great coffee, made to order. Staff is friendly. Fair price. Love the books and concept.
google avatar

Brandi K.

Yelp
This book store/ café is much larger than I expected it to be. They have walls and walls of used books and you can trade in your already read book for a discount on a new-to-you book. There is a small café within and I believe paid internet. My mom grabbed a book to read for super cheap and we were on our way. Cool place to chill out with your book and lunch, though.
google avatar

T. G.

Yelp
A great coffee shop full of used books, mostly in English. Heard lots of American accents; seems like a place where Americans gather. It felt nice as an American to take refuge here for a few hours and both my husband and I found books we needed to own .
google avatar

John P.

Yelp
A great bookstore of used books, and coffee shop (good coffee, and nice selection of fresh pastries, sandwiches, and such). For my lady though, it's always been the many shelves of books!! It's her favourite place to browse, shop, and swap. And they're such an accommodating lot - when swapping, you can keep 'credit notes' between trips!! If you can't get back during a stay to use credits acquired during that stay ... save them, and use them during your next stay!! When she did this the first time, it sure brought a smile to her face when they accepted them without question, and with a smile in return!! We have many fond memories of the former location - their cozy little place at the corner of Manuel M. Dieguez and Olas Altas, the chess players, and because it was just a few feet from where we stayed, so handy. But the new location is great - so handy to what's happening in Parque Cardenas, on nearby Los Muertos beach, and etc. - and the store is bigger, offering more, and it quickly became a favoured stop of ours on walkabouts in the area. Page in the Sun has always been a sort of "page in our sun" of our Vallarta stays!!

Yelp
Great coffee house! Books, great service n coffee, food excellent, outdoor ambiance wonderful.

Yelp
Really awesome collection of english and some spanish books, my friend and I each got one! The espresso was a tad burnt, but the cup of coffee was decent. Server was so kind. Would be back just for the vibe and new books.
google avatar

Yelp
Cool little used book store coffee shop rolled into one. The vibe is relaxing. The coffee we had was very good, we didn't have anything to eat.
google avatar

Kristin S.

Yelp
This place has such a great atmosphere! The staff is friendly and helpful and it has a wall lined with books to read. Their desserts and coffee are delicious. This is definitely a great place to relax or refuel.
google avatar

Sean C.

Yelp
This is my go-to place for my morning coffee. The outside tables are great if you want to read a book or watch the people in Lazaro Cardenas Park. Coffee is really good but I never ate anything there so can't comment on the food

Jane E.

Yelp
My favorite place to go when I need to get some work done. The food is delicious and fresh, the smoothies are bomb and you're surrounded by books (such a joy!!). Definitely check it out if you're looking for a good study nook or place to relax.
google avatar

Layton P.

Yelp
I went there every day to work on my next book. Great space to work or read, nice desk st the back, great good, good prices and very friendly staff. A good place to hang out when you are alone.
google avatar

Samantha R.

Yelp
Love this spot! The hot chocolate is so nourishing after a day of swimming in the ocean. Had good conversation with people and the armchairs are comfy.
google avatar

Holly B.

Yelp
I finished the book I bought at an airport on my way here and needed another book to read. I tired in my book, got a credit and picked out a new book. Pretty good selection of lightly used books. With the credit from my other book my "new" book was just over 100 pesos. About $5 US. I also got an iced tea here which was good. They have a coffee shop atmosphere with light snacks and coffee, tea and smoothies on the menu. Fun place if you're looking for a book to read in English on vacation.
google avatar

Yelp
My go-to artisanal coffee house in PV. Great atmosphere, what with the walls of books and the deep, inviting chairs. This is where Kerouac would go if he were still alive.
