We would like to try Catania’s special Pasta Norma and Swordfish. And also Italian Cola zero has been tried too. They look great on the plate. The swordfish was a little salty. Pasta was good. Worth to try. But we have waited to give the order, we thought that they let us decide. But in the end I’ve waited to pay at the table for about 10 minutes. And then decided to pay at the cashier.

Ive eaten at many Italian restaurants but I can ensure you the pasta they have here is basically as good as pasta can get. We had the aubergine pasta and the crazy carne deal. Both were exceptional and certainly worth the visit.

The place has potential, but our visit was rather disappointing. The drinks were average, and the food didn’t really impress. The burger bun was hard, and the seafood pasta bland. The bruschetta was fine, but nothing special – the bread was soft and not toasted properly. The meatballs were okay, but very plain, nothing memorable. The strangest part was when a plate of langoustines was brought to our table without a word. They sat there for about 20 minutes and were then silently taken away. We still don’t know if they were meant for us, a mistake, or just some kind of decoration. The staff was not very communicative, which made the overall atmosphere feel awkward. We probably won’t be back.

Cool spot to grab a cocktail or an espresso on the go. In the basement, there’s a cave with an underground river. Very cool. Recommended!

we sat directly next to the lava cave while eating it was beautiful. While waiting for our food we were inside the cave and even touched the water it is so clean and cold. The food was so delicious and we didn’t wait that long. the prices are not that high and the food was so good. 10/10 experience. we recommend reserve a table before you come.

A Putia dell’Ostello is a truly unique dining experience! The restaurant is set inside a historic lava tunnel, which creates such a cozy and magical atmosphere. The food is outstanding — fresh, flavorful, and authentically Sicilian. The staff are warm, friendly, and happy to share the story behind the place. Whether you’re here for a romantic dinner or just curious to see the tunnel, it’s an unforgettable stop in Catania!

We wanted to find a spot with good food, chill atmosphere and aperol spritz and this one was just perfect:) The staff were friendly, food was very tasty and so was aperol, not watery at all! The atmosphere was great, it’s not in the main square so it was away from all the rush:)

Yelp
This restaurant was my favorite part about my visit to Catania. A group of four of my friends and myself ate here almost every night of our stay. This place has an expansive menu that was able to cater to all of my friends dietary needs, such as vegan, gluten-free, etc. This restaurant is very large. There is a lot of seating outside but there is also an inside upper and lower level section. Plus, the lower level is a cave, and it is beautiful! It can fit several people and there is a small stream running through it. It is a perfect picture spot. The food was excellent both times we attended this restaurant. We all tried a good amount of the menu. The best part was their dessert! The only negative was the slow service. I don't know if it was because we were a big party or if it is custom, but make sure you have several hours to spend when you dine here!

Yelp
I had a little too much to drink earlier in the day that I visited A Putia dell'Ostello. I only say that because I wasn't in my right mind/stomach coming here. I had a good time, but it would've been more awesome if I was feeling better. I would've ordered a cocktail/beer and maybe more food to enjoy the atmosphere on a clear Sicilian evening in Catania. My friend and I just got some horse meatballs (really just burger patties though) and a pizza. The pizza was their Calabrisella (tomato sauce, mozzarella, peppers, olives, fresh onion, spicy salami, and oregano). Everything was good and I highly recommend getting any of their pizzas. I'll definitely be back here (the area around Elephant Square where there are a ton of good eateries to find down the cute Italian alleyways)!

Yelp
Honestly, this place is amazing. The atmosphere transforms throughout the day. If you're here for lunch it's a quite chill place to grab great food and sit outside in the beautiful city of Catania right next too old ruins. Then as the evening progresses into late night, the place becomes more alive. They bring way more tables out front and people flood in (dressed anywhere from casual to classy) for great food and drinks. They play loud music but not annoyingly loud and they have live music from time to time. The coolest feature of this place is probably the fact that inside you can go down into an old cave and EAT in there next to an underground stream. Super romantic if that's what you're going for however make reservations for the cave in advance as there is limited room (also nice for the romance factor). They're dog friendly and always offered my pup water and treats. They make delicious pizzas and surprisingly tasty sashimi and sushi I highly recommend this place if you want to eat good food and drink good beer which they have an extensive list of.

Yelp
This place is amazing. Great vegan options and a fun atmosphere. I got in at midnight and was starving. Rolled up to this place with my wife around 1am. It was popping off. Small lovely fire outside with people laughing and having a great time. I'm plant based but a traditional Sicilian pizza was on the bucket list. This place did not disappoint. Delicious! We came back the next night for appetizers, wine, and stayed for dinner. There is an under ground grotto with a river you can sit next to. Try this place!

Yelp
My wife had the pistachio & sausage pizza and she said it was the best pizza she has had in all of Sicily. I had the Taste of Land menu: cured boar, Argentine steak, and dessert. Everything was delicious. We got a bottle of local wine (U tocco) from a vineyard about an hour north. Several staff members spoke English just fine.
