A-ROSA Sylt (Sylt, Schleswig-Holstein) Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"Sylt, a geographically ever-changing wisp of a landmass in the North Frisian Islands, has long been a hideout for Germany’s jet set, even standing in for Martha’s Vineyard as a film location. Tucked away toward the north end of Sylt, List’s A-ROSA offers a quintessentially German resort experience, where vitality and wellbeing shade imperceptibly into luxe extravagance and quiet relaxation. A 3,500 square meter wellness center is the jewel in A-ROSA’s crown, boasting no fewer than six uniquely themed saunas, 18 treatment rooms, each with sea views, and indoor/outdoor swimming pools. Bike rentals are highly encouraged, with 40 kilometers of beach and sandy dunes to be discovered. Suites merge classical elegance with modern design, with balconies that offer views of the North Sea — as does Dünen, the resort’s restaurant." - Tablet Hotels

This hotel is by no means a 5 star hotel. It lacks from good to great in so many aspects: service, food, room features. Only the price level is 5 star + in all aspects. The room is nice and pricy but lacks air conditioning. The dinner buffet is limited in choice - talking to the restaurant manager it was limited by their holding company. They have one educated service person, the rest are trainees. They are really friendly but lack all the experience. Removing plates while eating, asking for olive oil and get told to pick it up yourself at the buffet, missing out to clear the table before the next course arrives ….||On the terrasse you need to hunt down a waiter to get after ages cold coffee. If you ask in the spa for the offering, they tell to go back to your room to look at the room tablett. If you try already annoid, you figure out that for cosmetics you can’t reserve anything as the solution isn’t working. They don‘t manage to repair the main door so you need pass through small side doors, not material but a proof. ||All in all, price-value-relation isn‘t worth the money. It has passed it times and need a new owner or management. A total reset is needed.

**Subject: Disappointing Experience at A-ROSA Sylt Spa** Dear A-ROSA Sylt Management, We recently stayed at your hotel with great anticipation, having specifically chosen A-ROSA Sylt for its renowned spa facilities and diverse range of treatments. However, our experience was far from what we expected, leaving us deeply disappointed. On our first day, we were eager to book spa treatments, only to be told that there were no available appointments for the entire duration of our stay (initially one week). We were further informed that many of your spa staff had either resigned or were on sick leave, severely limiting the availability of services. This was extremely frustrating, as the spa was the primary reason for our visit. We were directed to an alternative spa, which unfortunately was also fully booked. To make matters worse, we were informed that even the waiting list for treatments at your hotel was so long that it was essentially unavailable. We had no option to be placed on it, and there was no clear solution offered. When we expressed our disappointment, we were told that we should have booked treatments in advance, but it's unreasonable to expect guests to book spa treatments before even securing their hotel reservation. Additionally, we found the available activities to be extremely limited, further diminishing our overall experience. In the end, we were so dissatisfied that we checked out earlier than planned and sought accommodations elsewhere. This was far from the relaxing and pampering experience we had hoped for. We trust that you will take these concerns seriously and address the staffing and booking issues to prevent future guests from having the same disappointing experience. Sincerely, Anna Andresen

Family weekend to this nice spa hotel. We needed a nice break for the weekend with our 3 years old son where we all could relax and this was a absolutely right place for us! The spa area is big and our son could have fun there without disturbing any other guest, we enjoy lots of saunas with nice treatments for the body. The breakfast and the dinner was very delicious, not to big but with great and fresh variety of products. The employees were very helpful and smiley. Thank you for having us!

Despite the wonderful location on beautiful Sylt, this hotel disappointed. My husband and I stayed for 6 nights in July 2021, at a time when pandemic-related restrictions explained some our only so-so experience but not all. To begin with, although a quiet room away from the road was specifically requested, we were initially shown to a room with a view over a parking lot and road. After complaining, the front desk managed to get us a room on the other side of the hotel (facing the pool area), but it would have been so much nicer to have started with a room that met our requirements. It should be mentioned that although this is a modern hotel, there is no ventilation or air cooling in the rooms; therefore, sleeping with the windows open is essential as the room are otherwise stuffy. Secondly, the hotel offers no access to the sea due to the dunes which are off-limits, and no views of the sea from the public areas. Although our room had a partial (side) view of the sea, in order to enjoy views of the beach we had to leave the hotel property and walk along the public promenade (5-min walk). This is due to the rather strange architecture of the resort, which is big and boxy and not very open to the outdoors. The terraces of the restaurant and bar area are closed off and can only be accessed through the restaurant. And the fact that the only access to the pool area is via the spa also made us feel hemmed in. Food-wise the restaurant was of okay quality, but the fact of eating at a buffet-style restaurant for both breakfast and dinner, with no other option for a fancier meal in the evening, was limiting. Finally, the hotel made us pick a fixed seating time for breakfast in advance and stick with it due to Covid rules, which really felt like being on a schedule -- not cool while on holiday. It felt like this was for their convenience rather than the guests. On the positive side, the restaurant staff at A-Rosa Sylt were very friendly and went out of their way to accommodate the guests.

We loved our two night stay at this hotel. Our room was beautiful and comfortable. We had a town view and it was pleasant. Of course the ocean view rooms must be even nicer but are more expensive. The food was good. The pool was gorgeous and warm. ||||What I also liked was able to walk on the ocean promenade and the many shops.||||The staff were wonderful. The front desk lady who lives also in South Africa and the young lady who works with her from Hamburg went out of their way to help us when we had difficulty closing a window! They were so patient with us.||||The bus that goes around the island stops nearby and was great and easy to use.||||Loved our stay and highly recommend the hotel.

Perhaps it was because we had just stayed at Budersand Hotel and had an exceptional time, but we were completely disappointed with our stay here. I am genuinely shocked this hotel has a five star rating as it feels more like a Marriot or Hilton. The check in process was underwhelming and they charge for parking, which I'm not sure why, but it feels a bit cheap to add a parking charge at check in, you should just include it in the price of the room when you have so much parking available. The pool was freezing and the spa area was not clean. There were Band-Aids piled up in the corner of one of the saunas and the hampers for the towels were overflowing. The hallways leading to rooms were scuffed up with paint and wallpaper peeling off. One positive is the breakfast buffet exceeded our expectations as there is a lot of variety including fresh juices and microgreens.

Expectations were high, due to the money I spent. Considering the category of this hotel, my stay was okay: - I wasn’t too impressed by the food choices at dinner. Dishes were cold because they didn’t heat up the plates. - Some of the staff at breakfast couldn’t speak German. Not even the basics. - No coffee machine in the room. - No kid’s pool. - No ladies sauna. - Gym area is a bit small for my taste and so is the TV in the suite. - Cocktail menu at the bar only had the absolute basics. I expected something more exciting. - The drinks at the bar don’t come with nuts - you have to directly ask. - I forgot my jacket and they promised to call me to let me know whether they found it. They never did. What I liked: - Coffee at breakfast was great - very friendly staff at dinner and at the bar - the spa area was wonderful - kids area near the buffet restaurant - the guy at the bike rental was really nice and the bikes were of good quality for a reasonable price - kids loved the “mini club”

Relaxed, laid back hotel on the northern part of the island Sylt. We arrived with an electric vehicle and had the chance to charge in their parking garage right away. Very nice. Room had a decent size and we traveled with our dog, who found a comfy dog bed, bowl and some treats. Thanks 🙏🏾 I very much recommend the buffet for dinner and breakfast. Great variety and selection of warm and cold served food. They ask for reservations which makes sense due to seating capacity. The spa was amazing. Several sauna and large pools to spend some quality time during a windy, wet day.
