What a treat this place was. Visiting on a work trip, a co-worker suggested this place and I was not disappointed. Plan to return when I come back to Rolla. The strawberry rhubarb pie was perfectly sweetened and tart. The bacon quiche was one of the best I've ever had. Thank you for a great lunch!

We stopped here in Rolla for a piece of pie for breakfast!! Hey, we're on vacation! The gentleman was very friendly and told us about their history. They have a great selection of pies all made in house. It was early so he made me some fresh coffee. It was delicious. The pie was AMAZING!;I highly recommend stopping by.

We made a special stop for this pie and remember it being much better in years past. The prices have gone way up. We paid $29 for a HALF pie. Ordered a peanut butter pie and there wasn’t much of a peanut butter taste. Not worth the price to be honest.

Google
I went to open it and there was clear mold on the pie. Three slices of pie and at basically $9 a slice we're now worried to even try any of them. This was purchased three hours ago, we are extremely disappointed.

BEST BROWNIE I’ve ever had in my life. I had never been here before after being a local for over 2 years. This is definitely somewhere you want to go if you are in Rolla. Pies, cheesecakes, brownies, and more. Highly recommend this place. The service leaves a little to be desired at least on my visit. The atmosphere is “dingy” or just somewhere I’d just want to get the food to go.

The pie tasted good. But paid $30 for half a pie so I thought it was too expensive for that quantity.

Google
Building was leaking inside, worker was in Pajamas and the pie didn't taste good at all. I'm not one to ever complain my reports dictate this, this wasn't a good experience way over priced. And had to wait on the worker to stop chit chatting with friends and we were the only ones in line.

My last Slice of Pie: A Slice of Pie has been a pillar of the Rolla community and dining culture for decades. After my most recent experience, I’m distraught to relay that this pillar has been flattened to an insubstantially thin layer of ruble. I submit these photos as evidence that a once luscious mountain of coconut cream filling, towering upwards of two inches, is now reduced to less than half an inch, replaced by an oppressive yoke of whipped creamed. Gone are the days of yesteryear when a patron could count on this establishment providing solid value for their cash spent: these days, the going rate for a slice of whipped cream with a hint of coconut is $9. In all seriousness, the quality of pie is shockingly disappointing compared to what it used to be. I’ve had a few subpar experiences with this establishment under new ownership, but this one takes the cake and I’ve had my last Slice of Pie.

Yelp
This is the place for pie. If you can't find one you like then you don't like pie. I recommend any of your fruit pies. Everyone was excellent. My daughter had Boston cream and she liked it immensely.

Yelp
On our way home from visiting #2 and grandpuppies in St Louis and after stopping by St James Winery stopped bt a Slice of Pie in Rollo. Well, after being spoiled by the world famous Chicken Pie Sjop in San Diego for over 50 years, didn't expect an equal battle. But, for the chicken Pie and biscuits, Slice of Pie puts up a very good fight. The crust was light and fluffy and chicken filling was excellent. The biscuits was very good. I suggested they may want add mash potatos and gravy and cole slaw at dinner time for the hungrier crowd, maybe fried chicken and sides. Get the family in at a low price and make it up selling the desert pies and offering ala mode. But. Slice of Pie is nice place to visit if on the 44 going past Rollo, M9.

Yelp
I enjoyed the place. I just had a slice of pie, it was pricier than I would have expected And the wait was longer than I would want. A very well establishment when it seemed like it was being operated by one person the night I went, And there was a lot of people there, seemed like it was the choice very of a church young adults group. I liked it, and would go again if I was with someone that wanted a very good dessert, at a feeling of I may be charged higher than what I am hoping to pay, but it's a Very delicious slice of pie

Yelp
For years, I've been a huge fan of Slice of Pie. But.....the somewhat newer owners, are not keeping up the past quality operations of the past: - slices pies are $9....and no half slices available. Whole pies at $45. Gee, that's sure enough isn't it? - The day was a 90 degree day....and it was easily over 80 degrees in the place. We were told by staff "The owner doesn't let us turn t down any lower". What? The temp was ridiculous. The pie (still) tasted good on the day. So, that's a plus. But then again, doesn't matter if the pie is good, if I pass out (face first) in my plate of pie.

Yelp
I loved this place as a student. Swung back in with my wife after talking it up the whole drive. For years I loved the pie, but today they informed me they now only take cash or check.... But they now have a new ATM to help anyone who needs it. The Chinese ATM has a minimum $3.00 charge to your card (increments of $20). We cut the order in half and made them put it back after the frustration. I still wanted my wife to taste it so unfortunately we didn't walk out. I won't be coming again. I'm certain this is to target the students who don't carry cash and they will make $3 on every single one of them. If that's the type of business you need to resort to it's not my type of establishment. If that's your style though bring cash and enjoy. A single slice is $8.95 plus tax. I'd bring $10/slice so you know what cash to have on hand. Cheers!

Yelp
Heard so much about this place. Was excited to try it. Haven't had Boston Cream Pie forever and thought with their reputation it would be especially good. However, it was not. The chocolate topping was hard and seemed to have been frozen. The best part of BCP is usually the custard. There was no custard. It was tasteless whip cream. The cake portion was also tasteless. When I mentioned to the young lady cashiering that this was not BCP, she said "this is our BCP". However, the picture on their website of BCP (see below) does not look like the BCP I was served. The picture is from 3 years ago and reviews talk about a change in ownership. Perhaps that is the problem. There were 5 of us so the bill was $50. What a waste of money. I absolutely would not recommend this business.

Yelp
The pies here are okay, but depending on the type and flavor of your choosing, they're nothing special or anything to rave about. The crust is lack luster. Seems too thick and flavorless (should be light and a little buttery). Or should just use Graham cracker or cookie crust for other certain pies. So they don't taste right. Cream pies are more like pudding and whip cream. Not true cream. Consistency just isn't quite right. Fruit pies are the better ways to go for the pies here. Just be warned, some pies do sit out on the shelves or in the back for days (have been told by former employees).

Yelp
What a fantastic pie! Ordered a strawberry rhubarb pie for an outing with a group of friends. The only dessert that was consumed entirely was the pie. Everyone loved it and I'm sure A slice of pie has some new customers now! Excellent customer service!

Yelp
We stopped here for lunch. I had the chicken salad. It wasn't my favorite. Chicken was tender but it had mandarin oranges so wasn't my preference. My husband had the chicken pot pie and it was excellent with flaky crust and warm tender chicken inside. Excellent pie for dessert!! The topping for the coconut cream was so yummy and huge. Then we also had the Apple Pie. It was warm and tasty. We shared two pieces between four people.

Yelp
Traveling and needed a pitstop. Found Slice of Pie on YELP. They were not busy but it was 3 PM on a sunny Saturday. The lady working was patient and courteous...checked to see if Lemon Meringue is lactose free. It is, so that's what DH got. I got the Coconut Cream. Both pies were delicious and slices are large enough to share! They had a great selection with lots of fruit pie choices. We would definitely stop again.

Tami S.

Yelp
The pies are not the same, or as good, as they used to be. The same can be said for the cinnamon sauce. The new management accepts cash or check only and couldn't care less about how much that inconveniences their customers. Although they certainly enjoy inflating the price of their mediocre pies! It's a shame they take credit for previous owner's notoriety on their website when the new owner's recipes/methods cannot compare. We used to frequent this pie shop but I just don't think we will waste the time or money going back.

Yelp
My, oh my, OH MY... The PIE! MANY thanks to my friend for the introduction to this place!!! I had a quiche and then couldn't resist some DESSERT. That would've just been WRONG in this place! I got a slice of Cherry Raspberry. BOTH of these were so good, I'm having trouble coming up with the right adjective. Great? Awesome? Just PERFECT in mah mouth (textures AND flavors)! I understand they've been in business for a very long time, and I understand completely. Would LOVE to eat more of their PIE... OH, almost forgot... The Bourbon Pecan coffee is the BEST accompaniment to their pies!

Yelp
Pie is an under appreciated dessert, I think, often because it's a mass produced version with a fairly bland crust and tasteless filling. Real pie is like real tomatoes - neither bear any resemblance to grocery store versions. A Slice of Pie has real pie - their crust is lofty, rising above fillings that are so flavorful you recognize immediately what you're eating. Eat in or take out - half or whole pies as well as slices (slices are similar in size to a quarter pie!). We tried the strawberry rhubarb and the peach crumble-both bursting with the flavors or summer inside crusts with a perfect crackle. They also have quiche, pot pies and sandwiches.

Yelp
I actually swung by the Waynesville location on a Monday night, but they weren't on Yelp, so I dropped my review here. The moment you step into the store, you're hit with the cozy, nostalgic fragrance of freshly baked pies. Options here are undeniably fresh and serve as the perfect way to treat yourself for a special occasion or no reason at Blackberry Crumb Pie (4.5/5): This was an absolute home run. Tart, dense blackberry filling covered with the crunchy, sweet crumble is flavor and textural perfection. A scoop of ice cream on top is *chefs kiss* Pecan Pie (2.5/5): Unfortunately, their pecan pie is a miss for me. Pecans usually rise as this bakes and you expect a bed of the nuts atop a set layer of sweet caramely goodness. However, the proportions just felt off and the pie had to much of that center, liquidy layer causing the filling to be overly gooey and sweet. A slice of pie will drop you around seven bucks, but the quality of everything they make is super high. I will say that the half slice and the full slice looked to be identical in size to me, which could be a testament to generous service or just to get the half slice in the future.

Yelp
Pie is delicious. The only thing wrong with this place is the price is a little too high.
google avatar

Yelp
The pie and brownie were excellent. But the service was terrible. The two kids were confused, couldn't run credit card orders, and appeared overwhelmed and under trained.

Yelp
AMAZING PIES!! Been there several times when we pass through the area. Owners are so sweet. Definitely stop, you won't regret it.

Yelp
Came and ordered the Sampler - Small - which comes with 8 slices for $50. The good things - the offerings of different kinds of pies, definitely a place to come to try different pies. Also like that you can order samplers and you can decide which pies to try. The cons - the price.... $50 for the small sampler. The whole pie is $30. the other con, the long wait to get your order. It takes some time to get your order, if you do come, make sure you give yourself plenty of time. Their pies were good, but to be honest, the only "wow factor" I got was from their Lemon Meringue pie. I would definitely get this again, however their other pies were good, no "wow" factor. Phone in your order if you can and save yourself some time.

Yelp
Living it up in Missouri for the next few months and stopped at A Slice of Pie during my drive. The Rolla location is very cute, has tons of seating and lots of pies. Ordered a slice of peach crumb and it wasn't very busy but took about 5 minutes to get the pie after paying. The slice itself was huge, must have been 1/4 of the whole pie. Also was very delicious. Will have to stop by again to try some lemon meringue next time.

Yelp
A bright spot on a long road trip. I sure hope a future road trip crosses its path. Got the fresh strawberry and banana creme pie, both excellent choices.

Brian M.

Yelp
4.5 stars-Wonderfully friendly down home style bakery and lunch stop. Learned of Slice of Pie before going on this trip to the area and they reviewers were spot on. Pretty little college town halfway between St Louis and Springfield. First thing you see when walking in is a six or eight foot case practically filled to the edges with pies of many types and two different sizes. The young lady at the counter could not have been friendlier or more helpful. More on that later. Specials now are fresh Strawberry and Millionaire pie-a cream, fruit, and nuts concoction. These pies are gorgeous and it will most likely make it a difficult decision what to choose-both for right away and to take home:). American & Dutch Apple, Country Custard, Blackberry Cream, Peach, Peanut Butter Lust, etc. Cream Pies such as Chocolate Silk, Lemon, Coconut, etc. Quiche, Cakes, two different types of Pot Pies, Brownies. Menu is so appealing. We chose to go ahead and have lunch here also. I chose the Chicken Mushroom Pot Pie but unlike the photo I saw online this was a quarter slice of a full 10" pie! Much larger I think then the six-inch mini pie in the picture. Heated to a piping hot and served covering the plate. The filling was spectacular. Meaty, herby, mushrooms, corn, green beans, etc. Absolutely delicious. Loved it. The unfortunate part was that due to either how it was stored or heated, the top crust was not crisp and the edge crust was too dry for my taste. But as a whole it was still a delight. Served with a large, soft, fresh, made roll. Sooo goood. DW chose a chicken salad sandwich-the only one on the menu. Mayoee(?) chicken mix with purple grapes, mandarin oranges, almonds, etc. Served on a croissant looking roll that was quite sweet, surprisingly. The roll was dry. The salad not real flavorful. Served with chips. Could have been better. After much questioning and debate we chose to take the young staff members recommendation and pick the one she said was fresh today-Blackberry Crumble (over the Chocolate Cream and French Silk) Served with real fresh whipped cream. They offer not only two sizes of whole pies but also two sizes of slices, whole and half. The whole is a quarter pie, similar to my pot pie and the half is an eighth of a pie. We went half slice and it was plenty big enough for two-or a hearty eater. The mound of whipped cream on top was a sight to behold. Interestingly, they sprinkle more of the crumb topping over the cream. Detracted a bit imo. The pie was served slightly warm. The crust here was outstanding. Buttery and baked perfectly. The filling was generous and with a nice blackberry flavor. Not really strong, but nice. We also chose to take an eight-inch toll house pie with us for future enjoyment on our road trip. This was a good meal in a quality establishment. Wish I lived closer to try more often. But my mid-section says good that I don't Tip-on Tuesday they do half slice half price deal.

Yelp
Picked up quiche for our breakfast. It was the best I've ever had!!!! Highly recommend. Also took some pie for our lunch. Blackberry crumble was fabulous. They were out of several I wanted to try (and no indication on the board that it wasn't available ). That was frustrating to ask for 3 or so flavors from the list and be told they were out. The gal Waiting on me wasn't overly helpful or encouraging but quality of good outweighed the ordering challenges.

Cheryl V.

Yelp
Our friends bought a cherry pie for a birthday. It was $42 and there were barely any cherries in the pie. It was overcooked and the filling was only about a half an inch deep. And the taste was horrible. Wasted money. This place used to be great but I think they've definitely gone downhill

Yelp
We were coming through Rolla so we thought that we would stop at this place. The website said they opened at 9 which was perfect timing for us but there was no one visible in the store. After walking about a bit trying to figure out what was going on, someone came out from the back and opened the door. We were kind of disappointed that they were out of several things and it seemed to be taking a bit to get our 4 slices of pie. When my husband went to make the coffee he ordered, the Coffee of the Month was empty. We asked about it was was told, there wasn't any. I commented that we had seemed to have come at the wrong time. It was then that the girl at the counter responded that they don't actually open until 10. Everything became clear. We were early and they let us in anyway because the website still had the wrong time listed and that was why they were out of items they normally have- the items weren't ready. I was impressed by this. The pies were delicious and huge slices. Maybe a little higher than I thought necessary -39.00 for 4 pieces. BUT, I tasted no preservatives, everything was fresh and luscious. Pieces filled the entire go boxes and whipped cream in the French Silk was piled high with enough to share on my Bumbleberry . We also had the Quiche, whiccame with a huge Yeast roll, very high quality ingredients, the Sam can be said of the Cherry Crumb. The fruit pies did not have any of that nasty canned jell that most places use now instead of real fruit. I highly recommend this place.

Mike V.

Yelp
A friend brought me a pie from Slice of Pie. I have had their pies in the past (mostly pre fire) and were very good. This cherry crumb she brought was very dry, no cherry's (just fillings) and crumbs on top no flavor. After she told me the price she paid of $40.00 I thought she was kidding. Not sure if I will go back myself in the future. I know things have gone up but $40 for a pie WOW

Yelp
Such a great little hidden gem in the heart of Rolla, MO. Needed something new to eat so I got on Yelp and started exploring. I can across this place and the menu was small but what they had sounded delicious. So my wife and I hopped in the car and drove the 30 mins to check it out. Kinda hard to find and extremely limited parking. They also only take check or cash which I hate. Besides the above mentioned items this place was great. It's a cute little place with a intimate feel to it. Nice selection of quiches, soup, pies and salads along with very generous portion sizes. It's a small place in a somewhat small town, that provides small town service with a smile. The two ladies working inside were wonderful. Very friendly which always adds to the experience. I think this place deserves a try if your in the area or close. It comes recommended and is a place I will be returning to.

Yelp
I am a big fan of turtle candies so it was a no brainier that I decided on the turtle cheesecake pie. It took me two days to finish eating it! It was a huge size for the price I paid for. It was drizzle with caramel and walnuts on top of the whip cream. I was so tempted to come back and try a different pie but because of my Covid diet during quantine, I had to watch what I eat...lol. They were out alot of stuff on the wall menu so I was disappointed that I can't try some of the sandwiches.

Yelp
I really want to love this place but I just can't. I keep coming back but think this last time will be the final. The food is homemade, that's for sure. I can't speak on the pie behalf but for the pot pie it was a large slice. Although there was not much filling, I can could the pieces of chicken and relatively dry. Now I can live with that but not at the expense of paying $22 for 2 slices! Seems like highway robbery for something that was just mediocre at best. Could have been and older pot pie but again, not for that price!
google avatar

Dan G.

Yelp
Could use some help with quality control I think some of the things had to be better than my choice I ordered a brownie with ice cream it came out so hard you literally couldn't bite it. When they replaced it with a new one they said that one had been setting on the self to long and the microwave made it hard . New was better but not great still microwaved so when it cooled down was super hard also. I am sure some of the fresh stuff was better I just choose properly. Not sure I would give them a second chance.

Yelp
We were road tripping through unknown territory when bellies started to growl. We stopped for fuel and I began my frantic search of the yelposhere for something unique to calm the masses. Pie... who doesn't love pie? It was settled, we grab a slice and then figure out a restaurant for actual lunch. Sometimes you gotta have dessert first. Well, we went no further... pot pie/quiche... booyah! I had the chicken and mushroom pot pie and dutch apple pie. My husband had the spinach quiche and mint choclate chip pie.. he will do his own review. Those crusts were amazing! Light, flaky - simply phenomenal - I left some filling to finish the crust when I ran out of room for both. I always leave that pinched together crust rim. Not this time. The awards displayed were clearly well deserved. The worst part was trying to choose from so many options. If you have questions, they have answers... and pie, so much pie.
google avatar

Tina T.

Yelp
They have some of the best pie I've ever had! You must try the strawberry one with cool whip! Fire... I'm hoping to find some sugar free samples on the menu in the future!
google avatar

Draper O.

Yelp
I came in on a whim to order some lunch. The pies were very fresh, looking luscious there in the display case. They were still warm from the oven, and aesthetically pleasing. I couldn't wait to indulge my sweet tooth. I bought a slice of cherry crumb pie and a piece of apple walnut cake. I also ordered a slice of chicken mushroom pot pie. I wasn't in love with the taste of that too much. It was a lot for the amount of money it costed though. I would advise anyone who enjoys to eat baked goods to order food here. The desserts were terrific. The staff were knowledgeable and helpful.
google avatar

Yelp
TERRIFIC Boston Cream Pie! The very BEST! Getting pretty expensive, though.... BUT! Really big serving - for me, it's like a "double".
google avatar

Yelp
Delicious. Hearty Serving Size. Beautiful shop. Always friendly. Dutch Apple and Cherry are our favorite!

Joe S.

Yelp
Delicious, fresh pies. Good variety. Helpful staff. Very satisfying desserts. Now I'm hungry.

Yelp
This location is NOT closed!!! It is being remodeled and they are in a temporary space a few stores to the right in same strip mall. A sign in the door points you to the short-term quarters. We had a banana cream pie slice that was excellent! Yummy!

Staci H.

Yelp
The cherry crumb pie was served warm and the pb lust was a delicious ratio of peanut butter and chocolate. Reminds me of a pb cup. It took a few minutes to order as the young lady was a little overwhelmed with how busy it was at 2:30pm. The dining area had not been cleaned from previous customers but there were a couple tables left for us to sit at. Ordered coffee too but it took about 10 minutes until it was served to us. Wish they had music or something to help the ambiance, it was silently awkward and you could hear everyone's conversations.

Janice G.

Yelp
Very disappointing. Coconut cream pie did not taste homemade and the whipped cream on top not only tasted bad but the serving was enormous. Will not recommend.
google avatar

Marcy S.

Yelp
Where else can you order a fifth of a homemade pie? So many DELICIOUS options! A MUST stop!!
google avatar

Beth R.

Yelp
If you're looking for a "slice of pie" this place would be hard to beat. However, if your craving chicken pot pie, I highly recommend getting a Marie Calendars from the freezer section of your nearest grocery store. I love pot pie for the crispy, flakey crust and delicious savory filling, but what we were served wouldn't rate well even as family leftovers from 3 days ago. The pot pies were obviously not fresh. Then they were microwaved (badly) and served to me and my 2 young sons. The crust was soggy, and the filling was still cold in spots and molten lava in others. I had to warn my kids to be careful, but they still got burned because the cold spots fooled them into thinking it wasn't that hot. I don't know what the owner is thinking even having this on the menu. I feel he'd be much better off sticking to what they're good at which is the fruit pies.
google avatar

Anna J.

Yelp
We saw the sign from the street and my husband swiftly pulled a u-turn for us to try this place. His favorite food is pie, and let me tell you, this pie is TOP NOTCH!!!!!!!! First, the staff are all so so so wonderful. And the pie was beyonddddddd measure!
google avatar

Sarah P.

Yelp
We have tried this pie several times and are always disappointed. French silk is too sweet, quiches are so cheesy they give you indigestion, all other pies are too sweet, too. Not to mention they are incredibly overpriced. I just don't understand the good reputation for this place. We don't go there anymore after so many disappointments.

James H.

Yelp
Delicious but just too expensive. We used to get all our birthday pies there when it was located in 6th street. Can't afford it now.
google avatar

Todd S.

Yelp
People are nice, store clean. I like my apple pie with a little bit of a crunch left in the apple. Theirs is mushy

Steve P.

Yelp
I've been coming here for years, and I don't intend on stopping anytime soon. If you're in Rolla and looking for something to do, THIS is it. This place always has the most kind workers and the most delicious pie. Oh you don't like fruit pie? Guess what? They have other pies too. The chocolate silk pie is my wife's favorite, but I'm an apple pie kinda guy. My grandkids really like the coconut cream pie as well. Keep doin what y'all are doing!!
google avatar

Kelly M.

Yelp
Amazing pie and so many to choose from. When my wife stopped at a pie shop, I was going to stay in the car. When she didn't come back out, I figured I'd best go in. The display case was filled with a variety of fruit filled pies, though there was also quiche, savory pot pies, cheesecake, brownies. The list was huge! The slices were huge! The amount of whipped cream on top - huge! All of it delicious. The real standout, as it shoukd be with pie, that flaky crust. Yum!
google avatar

Renee R.

Yelp
While the food is great, the price is still too steep. I just can't see paying these prices for Pie. The only reason I was able to even have a slice of pie from them is because a friend of mine paid.
google avatar

Jesika D.

Yelp
We tried four pies on our visit: Strawberry rhubarb- flaky crust, soft, tender, well combined flavors for the inside filling. The purée filling had no bite or bitter component, and was sweet with a nice aftertaste. Cherry crumble- overloaded crumble with a thin layer of cherry filling. In a full piece, there were only three cherry pieces and the crumble was thick to the point it needed to be cut off the cake. 97% dough to 3% filling made us sad and left us wanting more. French silk- thick creamy texture with the flavor of a hot cup of milk chocolate with whip cream. Atop of a delicious filling was a three inch thick layer of fresh prepared whipping cream whipped cream. Peanut butter swirl- sweet and salty, a cheesecake texture which is frozen with a heavy peanut butter flavor and small chopped peanuts evenly dispersed through the pie. Dripping with flavor, the top has rich drizzle of chocolate. Alas, the final part of this review includes notice to the public that unsanitary conditions were present in the face of a pandemic. No employees with masks, of count we observed 5 employees, then an older man came out and without using hand cleansers or washing took a cup, got a drink, and was profusely sweating with soaked clothes. It seemed out of place to not even wear a mask to box pies or treat customers with this level of respect.

Yelp
They offer a wide variety of pies and you can order a whole, half or a slice. They are very large pies and taste amazing! The coconut cream pie is huge and is one of the best I have had. My favorite is the Boston cream pie. One slice lasts me about 2-3 sittings as it is very large. I highly recommend this place!
