A Spicy Pot 一家麻辣烫

A decent build your own hotpot place. They have a good variety of protein, noodles and veggie options. We had the Spicy Szechuan and Szechuan Pepper soup bases. The Spicy Szechuan wasn’t what we had expected. They added fresh red chilli peppers but we were hoping for the actual numbing peppers. We preferred the Szechuan Pepper soup base as it had the flavours that we were looking for. We also hoped there’d be a section to make your condiments/dipping sauce.

Excellent food, good choice of ingredients, the owner was so nice. I like spicy soups, so I was fine but my friend thought she could also handle spice but actually couldn't. When my friend had hard time eating the soup due to spiciness, the owner was so kind, he allowed us to have extra broth so she can finish it. Think I'll be coming here again just for the owner's kindness. Want to support business like this. Hope this place will do well! Edit: I revisited the place, they moved the ingredient rack to the wall across from the window, and the atmosphere was a little better. Not sure if they installed new lighting, but felt a lot more welcoming than last time. See my last photo. And of course, the owners were friendly as ever. Changed from 4 stars to 5 stars!

Great location for authentic mala tang! I have had the tianshui dry hotpot with chilli oil and the spicy beef bone broth, always filled my bowls with seafood and plenty of vegetables. The food was cooked perfectly, the dry mala was delicious and the chilli oil had that great heat I was looking for. Their spicy beef broth is delicious, with just the right amount of spice and saltiness. Fresh ingredients and a large selection. They even have great homemade tofu. Good seating, lots of parking and friendly staff.

This concept of pay as you weigh t is great as you can eat as little or as much as you desire! They specialize in MalaTang (麻辣燙) but have not as spicy options as well. Only non spicy option is tomato soup. They have a lot of unique toppings that i dont find at other shops!

I was initially very confused when I got here on how to order but the staff were very helpful in telling us what to get and giving suggestions to my many questions. I got the pork soup base and they gave chili oil on the side which was great. Everything was delicious and reasonably priced.

The broth is delicious and features a variety of meats; however, the service was somewhat slow.

If you’re looking for authentic Malatang, this place is a must-try! The broth was flavorful and had just the right amount of spice, and the ingredients were fresh and abundant. I was impressed with the variety of vegetables and meats available, which allowed for a fully customized meal. The atmosphere is cozy, and the staff are incredibly welcoming and attentive, making sure every part of the dining experience was perfect. Highly recommend for anyone craving a delicious and hearty bowl of Malatang!

The Food is not fresh enough，which the clams are not open for eat. Taste is only spicy，no other taste. But service is good and clean. Another thing I don't like that they request you order over 1lb，which means at least spend $20/order.
