Let’s start with the pros: amazing location (5 min from the hotel and short drive to downtown), beachfront with amazing views, friendly staff, spacious rooms, decent breakfast (nothing crazy but has just what you need), beautiful property with a nice pool area, delicious Indian restaurant on property Cons: We stayed in a lower level room and heard EVERYTHING from our neighbors upstairs. There is absolutely no soundproofing which was really annoying when we were being woken up every morning around 6:30/7 am. The safe did not work throughout our five night despite asking staff multiple times to fix it. The property has lots of stairs which would be more of a problem for those with health issues. Overall, this is a great hotel whe compared to others in Nassau and in a safe, quiet area. We loved it!

This review is coming super late, but I didn't want to let the year end without talking about how much of a wonderful time my husband and I had staying at A Stones Throw. We stayed here for our anniversary in Feb of this year, and while we only stayed one night, we loved every moment of it. The restaurant at the hotel served amazing food, and the views from the hotel were breathtaking. We walked around the area and felt super safe. The staff was so kind and treated us wonderfully. Our room was beautiful and adorable, and the bed was super comfy. We hope to return one day because the hotel is very, very special.

This is a tricky review to write. A Stone's Throw Away is very nice quaint hotel and you might want to consider it, just read the whole review. First, it oozes old world Bahama charm with beautiful terraces that have real million dollar views. The main porch is a wonderful place to share a cocktail, if the bar is open. The bar is run by the attached restaurant without specified hours. Now, the desk clerk will go get you a beer, but you have to know to ask. We returned from dinner about 9:00pm hoping for a night cap, but found the bar locked up tight. ||Rooms were clean and very comfortable with nice amenities. However, we were on the main level and the hardwood plank floor from the room above transmitted every step. Friends told us upper level rooms were better. Also our room safe was inoperable. Dead battery. The hotel has a lovely pool and garden area. It's a very short drive from the airport. Continental breakfast is included and OK for what it is. ||Now, the big issue: A Stone's Throw Away - stone's throw from anything remotely level. That million dollar view is up hill. Way up hill! And you don't get there by elevator, escalator, chair lift, or tow rope. You climb up. Over 60 steps to get from the street to the office. Twenty more to get to a room on the second level. For the six of us - 2 cancer patients, 2 hip and 3 knee replacements - this was a bit of a problem. So, know before you go. A Stone's Throw Away is a nice hotel, but you'll have to climb up and don't even start me on walking anywhere to a restaurant.

⭐ Review for “A Stone’s Throw Away” We stayed in Room 7 and overall had a very good experience, with a few things travelers should know depending on what kind of stay they are looking for. Pros Very clean and comfortable Loved the large private balcony with spiral stairs directly into the dining/breakfast area The Indian food in the on-site restaurant was amazing Friendly and helpful staff — especially Shaniqua, who went above and beyond Close to the ocean with a beach that (in December) was completely empty except for us Beautiful sunset and ocean views Room 7 has a very interesting and unique style Close to the airport but still far from tourist crowds Great A/C and Wi-Fi Very easy access to the bus system — no car needed A good rate for what you receive Robes provided Nice swimming pool A couple other restaurants within walking distance Outdoor dining available Healthy breakfast included Absolutely loved the Dutch-style carved-wood bed on the balcony, enclosed on 4 out of 5 sides Cons The shower had very low water pressure and the temperature kept fluctuating Room 7 is quite noisy, even with doors and windows closed You can hear music, staff, and guests in the dining area directly below Music plays loudly from 6 a.m.–9 p.m., making it hard to relax or hear the ocean On Friday and Saturday nights, if there’s a party at the bar/dining area downstairs, it is very loud in the room No indoor dining option, and outdoor dining can get too breezy No coffee maker in the room (though coffee is available in the lobby) Occasional neighbor’s dog barking ⭐ Overall Impression A Stone’s Throw Away has a lot of charm, comfort, and beautiful touches. The staff, views, balcony, and food were all truly wonderful. However, Room 7 is not ideal for anyone seeking a quiet or peaceful stay, simply because it is positioned directly above the dining and bar area. With a different room choice, this could be a perfect spot for travelers who enjoy convenience, friendliness, and unique style. If noise isn’t a concern, it’s a great value and a lovely boutique experience.

This is a very pleasant change from the usual canned resort to be expected in Nassau, it's a veritable 'gem in the rough' and we will certainly be staying here again in the future. It's an old colonial mansion, polished wood floors throughout, which has been converted into a hotel but in doing so they have been able to retain that old school charm absent from so many other places. What's more, if you enjoy Indian food their restaurant is excellent. If you're looking for something different from the norm I'd recommend 'A Stone's Throw', you will not be disappointed.

Without a doubt the most relaxing and exquisite historic hotel in Nassau. Nestled in the historic Gambier district sitting atop a massive hill with views of the ocean this is a perfect romantic getaway. The staff are extremely friendly and the new chef from India prepared a meal that was divine. If you are looking for a truly peaceful location, close to the airport with a great location I highly recommend this hotel. I will be returning again.

This is a cool old Bahamian house. The bathroom was a bit tight and musty but the bedroom was not musty as all. We enjoyed the deck overlooking the ocean. There are stairs up to the hotel office and there are up to two additional flights of stairs depending on your room. We are not super fit but didn’t have a problem using the stairs at all. If you have issues walking this is not your place. If you have Hilton or luxury expectations it’s also not your place. It’s absolutely a quirky and fun place to stay that has a beautiful view and is away from crowds and quiet.||Included Breakfast is continental - fruit, toast/bagel/croissant, yogurt, cereal, milk, OJ and coffee and tea. You get two free water bottles a night in your room. This is a great value since food is expensive.||The Indian restaurant was unbelievably good. The food was slow but so worth it!||It was super easy to catch a jitney and ride into downtown. (1.50 a person, About a thirty minute ride). We almost exclusively walked and used jitneys during our trip and never waited more than 15 minutes for one. The hotel staff was really kind about explaining how to use them to me in our first nights. (Thanks Alex!!)||While the beach is walkable from this hotel, I recommend trying some of the other beaches - You can ride a jitney up to any of the less crowded beaches on the way to downtown.

A Stones Throw is an amazing establishment with great staff, great rooms and a great view! I highly recommend staying here. Whenever I have to travel to Nassau. This is where I stay. Back in Nov and Dec. Thank you again to all the staff that made my week perfect.
