Wow Best food on our trip. Garlic shrimp, pan fried scallops and those little green peppers. It was delicious. They were overwhelmed because the cruise ship had come into town (presumably) but it was wonderful

We were visiting this area and we found this restaurant. The service was above and beyond, and the food was delicious—especially the chipirones a la brasa, which were outstanding! Amazing overall experience. The food was absolutely delicious, and the service was excellent from start to finish. We were pleasantly surprised with complimentary snacks before the meal, which were also very tasty. Make sure to call ahead and reserve in advance—it does get full, and showing up without a reservation likely won’t work. Highly recommend!"

I think the seafood is really good! Others is ok. I highly recommend the seafood I’ve ordered but I’ve forget what’s the name of it.

It looks like many a taberna from the front but is deceptively large with good seating throughout. We stuck with seafood - all of good quality, well cooked, with minimal seasoning. Generous portions but the sizing is a little random - the racion of mussels was modest but the media racion of baby squid was larger. Decent selection of wines and good value for the quality.

The seafood was very tasty, except for the cod. Especially grilled squid should be tasted.

This is a place you will go back again and again. You know it’s a place very popular among locals Coruñians. The best pulpos 🐙, way they prepared and the spices using on it. Not to forget how experienced the pulpeiros is. Other dishes like scallops and peppers are just wonderful, also have a good selection of Galician wines. Cosy atmosphere. Oh the tortillas also one of the best. Plus some free tapas when you order the drinks……better go early or make a booking. Enjoyed immensely.

We had a great meal here. We arrived in A Coruña in between meal times (it was almost 16:00/4pm) and we’ve found there can be many restaurants that close around that time, so it was great to find such a great option open all afternoon. The restaurant was pretty empty, but the service was great and the food delicious. The octopus was absurdly tender!

After spending four hours touring A Coruña and soaking in all its historical charm, we found ourselves absolutely starving at 12:00 PM. The tour had mentioned that octopus is one of the most beloved dishes in A Coruña, so I knew I had to try it. But where? I turned to Yelp and searched for the best octopus nearby. My answer appeared almost immediately, A Taberna de Cunqueiro, just a five-minute walk through the enchanting old town, boasting nearly a 5-star rating with 37 reviews. When we arrived, the place was packed, buzzing with locals and tourists alike. Just as I was scanning the room, probably looking a bit lost, a friendly waitress caught my eye. With a big smile and a cheerful "hola," she seated us right away. She went above and beyond, recommending the best tapas selections to start, and before we even had a chance to order, she brought over a warm bowl of potaje and jamón ham con pan--such a thoughtful touch! We ordered two refreshing local draft beers, Estrella de Galicia, and dug into the delicious appetizers. The casa croquettes, Iberian ham, small scallops, and of course, the Galician octopus, were all simply amazing. Each bite was a true taste of Galicia's culinary brilliance. After a second round of beers, we were so stuffed that we had to call it a day just as they were preparing to close at 2:00 PM for their lunch break. This spot has an amazing vibe and you can tell it's one of the locals favorite as it reas full of young people adding to the energy. This place quickly became one of my favorite while in A Coruña and merits multiple visits. Did I also mention that owner was in the kitchen making sure this packed place functioned like a well oiled machine. The vibe is so authentic, the staff are incredibly friendly, and the food? Unforgettable. I couldn't even imagine giving anything short of 5 star review definitely be back next time I'm in town!

Favorite place to eat and drink during our visit to A Coruña, so much that we came each day during our three day stay. The staff were all friendly and lively, and they fill cava to the top of the glass. Each time you order a round of drinks, they come by and give you some small bites to eat - like meat, cheese, eggs, potatoes, bread, soup. The best of the complimentary bites we had was this amazing meaty chickpea soup that also had tripe and tendon, and tasted a lot like a Mexican pozole soup. Don't miss out on ordering from the menu though. The pulpo here was a highlight, but another of our favorites were the grilled shrimp served with an amazing garlic aioli.

This place was recommended to me by a clerk at the Melia Maria Pita Hotel, and thank goodness, her recommendation was spot on. The restaurant is located on a pedestrian friendly strip about two blocks long of restaurants. The day I stopped by it was beautiful so I opted to eat alfresco in front of the restaurant. Out in front they had this huge copper pot that they utilized to make the famous pulpo (octopus) Gallego, which is absolutely delicious. When I arrived the place was hopping with a large lunch crowd. I'm thinking to myself, yeah baby, this is definitely a good sign. I started out with a nice glass of white wine. By the way, local white wine in this part of the country is outstanding. I just ordered the house white which was simply outstanding. I didn't need to ask about type of grape, or brand; because I knew that what they were going to bring me was going to be something great. I started out with a Gallego salad which typically has a hard boiled egg and potato in the mixed green salad. Then I moved on to some great jamon with equally great Gallego bread. Once again the bread here is perfectly crusty and nice and hearty on the inside. Just the way I like my bread. Then, the star of my meal showed up, which was a perfectly medium cooked Gallego Rubia solomillo of ternera. This ladies and gentlemen, was simply one of the best steaks, if not the best, I have ever eaten! Look I'm from Chicago, which is known as the former butcher of the United States. I know the difference between a good and a great steak. A good aged prime angus beef steak in an excellent Chicago steak house is going to be absolutely delicious. This steak was different. First of all it was not from English angus cattle, it was from Galician blond cattle. There was almost no resistance to the tooth as I bit down on the meat. It was super tender with great flavor. I have now been back home for a month and I still regularly talk about that great steaks I had in Galicia. That's right, I still tell anybody that will listen about the great steaks in Galicia!

Completely packed but totally worth the wait and fighting for a table. Must have the octopus made right in front of you, the best we've had. The croquettes are amazing and also home made. Must try the delicious assortment of seafood (can't come to A Coruña and not have sea food).

I am American and I come here every time I com on business. They have the best Pulpo(Octopus) and Scallops anywhere! It's very busy, so be patient. One server speakers excellent English. Trust me, you will love everything here anytime!

The Mariscos are cooked to perfection. The vermut is delicious. All of the locals agree. Enjoy!!

Love Love Love this little gem in A Coruña! Everything is so good! The Service is amazing and everyone from the host to all the employees were so friendly, but most of all the Food is so delicious!!! I can't wait to return!!
