"A Codfish Pasty and a Red House Wine, Please! There is a fado song proclaiming that all artists and fado singers come to A Tendinha, here in one of the oldest areas in Lisbon , founded in 1840. At Rossio, between the old cafes like Suiça and Nicola and on the other side of the D. Maria II National Theatre, next to Arco da Bandeira, you will find this little tasca. Here you can eat ham or fresh cheese sandwiches, bifana (pork sandwich) or some fried petiscos (snacks) like the Pastel de Bacalhau, a codfish cake, and shrimp croquettes. Ask for a beer or red wine from the house to accompany."

Completely disgusting. Do not go here. Ordered eggs for my son just to get him something. They came out ice cold and tasted/looked so bad we stopped and are going somewhere else

So-so. On a route that means you either turned down all the tourist traps on the way to the Castle, OR you are going there because of Google Reviews 😅 Battered cod sandwich €6.20 was big, fleshy and dry, needs a sauce at least. And just the bacalhau sandwich, was great, €4. All up, it was fine.

Don't go to this place. On the advice of a local guide, I went to eat at this restaurant. I had a sandwich with breaded cod, which was simply not eatable because of the huge number of bones. When I pointed this out, the waitress was rude. My friend had two cod pasteis and a vegetarian nem. Both were served cold, and were too fatty. The menu is misleading, as each price is associated with an image of a snack, which is represented as 2, or even 4, but the quantity served is a single snack. Avoid this place. The local guide is certainly paid to send tourists to this place (the people sitting next to us had also come on the recommendation of a local guide).

We tried the Rissois de Leitao and Croquetes de Carne with a beer. The service was very nice and fast. The taste was okay. Good for a snack or a break in the afternoon.

Really good small buffet in the heart of Lisboa. Tried the grilled pork steak with an ice cold beer. Can come handy for quick bites or eat something after a long walk. Good prices, good location, you can eat in and out

Just what I needed for a break from a long walk. At first I thought this was one of the touristy spot but turns out it’s quite a popular place even for locals!! YOU MUST TRY THE CODFISH CAKE (Pastel de Bacalhau) as they are delicious. I also tried Rissóis de Leitão which is also really good as well. Highly recommend and it’s located in a the heart of the city. 💛

Location is great but please do not order any food. It’s cold and low quality.
