Though ~$13 per pint, it is worth it! Unique weekly flavors, a cult following, and IMPECCABLE ice cream is the name of the game here. Zero ice, perfect density, sublime creaminess, and occasional weekly $5 baked goodies, this is the ULTIMATE echelon of Ice Cream in the Twin Cities. It is *so* worth the price if you love ice cream even half as much as I do! Flavors range from creative and savory to normal but very well done. Expect a big fight for those popular flavors, especially during summer!

We had A-Z cater our wedding on 10/25/2024! Everyone raved about the flavors and it was so special to have ice cream as our dessert as we went on a million ice cream dates throughout our 5 years dating! Not to mention A-Z was prompt on replying to emails, was an affordable individual dessert, and many of our guests thought it was fun that the owner scooped our ice cream! Couldn’t say enough good things about A-Z!

I tried this place a handful of times about a year ago. The ice cream is good, though a bit pricey, but the lack of customer service really turned me off. On my first visit, I waited in line for about 20 to 25 minutes, past the pickup window I had selected. On my second visit, I arrived two minutes late due to terrible traffic from across town and missed my pickup window. I asked for a refund, but the owner told me to come back to pick it up and refused to issue one. At the time, there was no mention of this policy on their website. I understand that I was late, but considering my previous experience of waiting beyond the scheduled time, a little flexibility would have gone a long way. This policy has been added to their website since, which is a step in the right direction. The whole interaction left a bad taste in my mouth and I haven’t been back since. As a side note, I think this business model (no store front and scheduled pickup times) worked well during Covid, but it’s quite inconvenient now for everyone but the business owner.

We had A to Z ice cream cater our wedding and it was a DREAM! They let us create our own custom flavors, packaged them in individual containers, and came to the wedding to hand them out to our guests. It was easily the highlight of the night as everyone was obsessed with the ice cream and the flavors! Zach was so wonderful to work with, patient, flexible and so kind. We love their ice cream so it was so special to us to have them there on the big day.

I don’t have any gripes about the ice cream, which is tasty. I do however have a huge gripe about the business practice and customer service. The shop does weekly pickups for a few windows of time. With my last order, I was not able to make any of the pickup times as my car was in the shop. I reached out to ask for a refund and initially did not get a response. Then I asked again and I was told they’d simply give me an extra pint with my next order. I reminded them that I had paid for four total pints in the order I couldn’t pick up. They never responded or issued any refund. Save your money and make ice cream at home instead!

Google
Absolutely the best tasting ice cream you’ll ever have. These pints are jam packed with flavors and textures. Each week a unique flavor and I’d be hard pressed to pick just one favorite or one that I didn’t enjoy. 100% worth the hype, the long lines - if you go to the first pickup time - EVEN in the winter, but hot tip if you pick up after the second pickup time the line is usually super fast. You owe it to yourself to snag a pint or two!!

Google
The thrill of setting an alarm or continuously refreshing the browser during a designated time, if lucky, leads to some pretty phenomenal ice cream. Only complaint is if your near the back of the line or wait for an extended period of time, ice cream melts quite a bit as it sits out on a table… I always come prepared with a cooler and ice packs for the 50 min drive home so not the end of the world, just an observation!

Google
The ice cream flavors are imaginative and transformative. Much more intense flavor than you can get from a grocery store pint or even most other ice cream shops. The marketing videos are hilarious. I have no notes for improvement.

Yelp
An interesting idea for sure. Similar to Crumbl Cookies where flavors are very limited time. Always an interesting flavor that you typically wouldn't think would taste good. I've ordered/picked up twice. Once was in the fall when they had a pumpkin coffee cake ice cream - it was really good! I was impressed that time. The second time I wanted to try to popcorn flavor ice cream but was mistakenly given the fruity pebble flavor. I should've double checked before walking away but assumed it was correct. After messaging them through the website I was issued a full refund! Overall the ice cream is pricey but can be a fun treat to try every once in a while. There's lots of off street parking around and the line always goes quick.

Yelp
Some of the best ice cream I've ever had and such great, unique flavors! It is not an actual storefront, you buy during their weekly "drop" and come pick it up there. It's definitely worth the hype!

Yelp
I was so excited to finally snag a pint of A to Z creamery and the experience did not disappoint! A to Z releases about 200 pints of a new flavor every week and the pints are provided either first come first serve or through a lottery system. You pay for the pint online ahead of time and select a time slot to pick the pint up - if you miss your time slot, the ice cream is forfeited so make sure you choose a time that you can make! The price of the pint is high (around $13 plus tax and tip) but the all items are hand made and hand packed, so the price to me is worth it! I got in line once it was time for me to pick up, and it was about 30 people long. However it moved really quickly and I had my pint in about 5 minutes! Service was polite and quick! I was able to purchase the Key to My Heart pint - a key lime pie ice cream with Graham cracker crumble and marshmallow fluff. The ice cream was fantastic. It was limey but not too tart and not overly sweet. The main reason I provide 5 stars is due to the details. The Graham cracker crumble was clearly hand crafted and a great texture addition to the ice cream. And the ingredients were layered throughout instead of all being piled on top. I had heard a lot of excitement about A to Z Creamery and it lived up to the hype!

Yelp
Disregard those reviews that say this is "one of the best" ice creams they've had - it's "THE Best"! The flavors are so creative. At times you will scratch your head and wonder...who thinks of that? Then you pick up your pint and before you know it, it's gone! I'm telling you now...Zach is the Willy Wonka of ice cream! If you score a pint, you will feel as if you just found a golden ticket!

Yelp
I'm an ice cream fanatic so when I heard about A to Z Creamery I had to see what the hype is about! I got the Dunkarooski and oh my amazing! You can tell it is homemade! It melts in your mouth and you can tell they put a lot thought of their flavors! This was my second ice cream I tried with them since it is quite expensive but worth the taste!

Yelp
Salt and Vinegar FTW is amazing. I'm eating all of it tonight and I'm not going to share

Yelp
One of the best pints of ice cream I have ever had! The amount of mix-ins was perfect. The texture was creamy but not too soft (I didn't have to wait for it to thaw when taking it out of the freezer)! Everything about it tasted fresh! Flavor I tried: Fluff Me Up -dark chocolate ice cream with caramel, marshmallow fluff and homemade Oreo gravel IMPORTANT NOTE: you have to order from their website and pick-up during a designated time slot

Yelp
They release ice creams weekly on their website, one at a time, and sell out nearly instantly. It is worth it. Standing in line in freezing temperatures for ice cream couldn't taste better. With unique flavor combinations and what can only be described as some as the best ice cream in the cities - you need to try it for yourself.

Yelp
I finally got to visit A to Z at their new location near Trader Joe's! The line outside prior to getting the ice cream was socially distanced due to Covid and worked just fine. The ice cream this time around was one of my all time favorites- chocolate chip cookie dough (an homage to Sweet Martha Cookies). The vanilla ice cream was also mixed with brown sugar and molasses. This pint was very very good. I noticed that there seemed the be a gritty residue left on my spoon after each bite but it's not really a hindrance more of an observation. But I would highly recommend this flavor if it ever comes back.

Yelp
I first heard about A to Z Creamery on Kare 11. Look it up to watch that segment. I've never seen anything like this. So a local guy starts making homemade small batch ice cream. Puts about hundred pints for sale and they sell out in seconds, Yes seconds. Really?!?! Yes really! I had to try this. I might even have tried this if it was broccoli ice cream. Well maybe not. Plus I doubt that you could sell that much broccoli ice cream that fast. But then again maybe A to Z Creamery could? Anyhow after following the rules and tips of signing up on the website for the emails and following their Instagram account, I was ready. The first try I failed and they sold out in seconds and I got nothing. Same for the second time. Ice cream sales come up about every 10 days or so. The third time when I clicked on the flavor it was in my cart. It was at that time that I yelled out. HA, I GOT IT. Then I went to pay and received the message that they were sold out. At that time I yelled out some other words! #&%$ Just because the product is in your cart, does not guarantee your purchase. You have to have it paid for. Finally the next item up was Stan the Man. Stan became the man when I had the ice cream in my cart and paid for it. I did it! Being a former college football player like the owner Zach, this became a competition to me. It was about winning and losing and I finally won one. I got the email confirmation. Pick up is in St Louis Park and you have a limited time to do so. Usually a few days. Was it worth $12.00 for a pint of ice cream? What is worth the competition to get a pint in your cart and pay within seconds? Was it worth it to drive 45 minutes one way to pick up a pint of ice cream? Does that all sound extreme? YES, we'll be competing for another pint in the future.

Yelp
Good ice cream and fun concept, but to me, not worth the hassle and the money for a pint of ice cream. If you're here you probably understand the concept of the weekly releases and how to get your hands on a coveted pint. I got lucky the week of the coffee ice cream with almond flavored cake and fudge swirls. Placing the order was pretty easy as well as pickup. Ice cream was pretty good too, but I've had better. So for a busy working mom, not worth my time to continue to get their pints as I get more than excitement from going to an ice cream shop where everyone can pick their flavor. Im excited to see how this place evolves over time :)

Yelp
I decided to try this once more as a carrot cake ice cream was released and I LOVE carrot cake. My order came out to $14.63 for one pint. Pickup was swift, but still had to wait in line. This ice cream was alright, kind of artificial tasting, which for $14+ is not what I am hoping for. Also the cake was listed as "spice cake mix" so it wasn't even homemade. There are many local creameries that have better ingredients, are cheaper, and have great flavor combos too!

Yelp
***Place orders on their site for pickup only. Pickup location and instructions are given upon purchase. They sell out fast so also keep an eye @atozcreamery on Instagram for updates!*** Set yourself calendar reminders and alarms -- whatever you need to do to get your hands on some of A to Z Creamery's limited-quantity innovative ice cream, which sell out fast! It's worth it. Subscribe to emails on their site to know when flavors go live, order online after they do go live but before they sell out, and then receive instructions for pick up (only) in St. Louis Park. I was able to snag myself a concoction of buttery croissant chunks + strawberry swirl + cream cheese swirl. Seriously divine and so creative! Sweet, creamy, buttery, and a little tart, wow. All of their flavors are so interesting! I hope I can get my hands on more, like their "More Cheese Please" flavor with cheddar cheese ice cream, corn muffin crumble, and salted caramel. Thank you, Zach!

Yelp
Arrive 10 to 15 minutes before your pick up time and your wait won't be long at all. Consistently delicious and creative flavors!

Yelp
The Mission is obtaining and not devouring it all in one sitting. Originally Vraa creamery and recently underwent a rebranding, is an artisanal small batch local ice cream company in St Louis Park. Batches range from 20-80 pints and getting them is HARD! Instagram following is a must and subscribing to his website for release dates. But let's get to what we really need the details on.. since each flavor is unique, I'll be reviewing his "More Cheese Please" small batch. Yes. Cheddar cheese based ice cream and no it's not weird at all!! It's like ice cream and Chicago mix went to a night club and 9 months later.. this magical concoction was created. The ice cream has homemade caramel swirled with corn muffin crumble that aids in this nutty, buttery layer of wow. Everything plays so well together that nothing is overly sweet or savory. Ice cream has traditionally been just straight "sweet" and as a hobby foodie, I appreciate the layers and stray from tradition this flavor takes. I understand fully the popularity and can vouch that his prices represent the work and craft of these flavors. I seriously don't understand how he's done it. All I know is I need to snag more flavors!!

Yelp
I have been #blessed to try TWO pints from AtoZ. Both pints were some of the best ice cream I've ever had. While it would nice to have more choices, Zach has created a viral sensation and the hour I spend refreshing my computer to try and snag a pint is time well spent. Do yourself a favor and follow him on Insta, turn your notifications ON and play the ice cream lottery to grab a pint - you will not be disappointed.

Yelp
There are so many things on this...first getting your hands on a pint is a challenge in itself! It kind of makes ice cream a game. I have had a few flavors that have presented themselves (one with hot dogs...) that I didn't buy because I just wasn't feeling adventurous. I did get my hands on the Whopper flavor and it was fantastic! First who doesn't love a whopper. The ice cream base itself is so good! It is creamy and tastes like home made. The cost is a little bit more expensive than store bought ice cream, but they are producing only about 150 pints per flavor and the ingredients are not cutting corners and the base of the ice cream tasted of high quality. Not to mention, we have all gone to a ice cream place and dropped more money on a small dish. But...I guess let the games begin...because after you taste that victory you want to win them all!

Lance A.

Yelp
Seriously horrible customer service. You only get a 15 minute window 2 times a day to pick up and if you're 2 seconds late they are nowhere to be seen. The store is completely empty and lights off. Helpful tip- work with the cupcake shop next door so people can pick up the ice cream and maybe buy some cupcakes too!

Denise P.

Yelp
My daughter loves this ice cream- it's truly the best in the cities. Unfortunately, have to give two stars as their customer service leaves a LOT to be desired. A week ago my daughter set reminders on her phone, and as soon as she received a text message that the flavor was live, she placed her order. $17 for her order (pint plus a small tip). Unfortunately, life gets in the way, and she missed her scheduled pickup time as we were up very late caring for a sick pet. She private messaged A to Z on Instagram and was met with 0 compassion or understanding from their employee. Instead of explaining the policy, offering alternatives, or at the very least being kind... they were cold and to the point. Now she's out $17 with no ice cream as their policy states that ice cream not picked up is forfeited. Not asking for handouts, but some customer service would be nice. This is our 6th time buying this ice cream between the two of us, and they just lost two loyal customers.

Jared F.

Yelp
I tried to pick up my ice cream during my "designated " pick up time, but I was unwilling to wait outside in the freezing cold behind hundreds of other customers. I had my 8month daughter with and I was told I had to wait hours outside or forfeit my money. What kind of business model is this? Im sorry, but you sold me ice cream and you didn't deliver on your end. I emailed and they simply said sorry we can't control it. Umm yes you can. Maybe not have hundreds of customers pick up for the same time. This was my first and last attempt. They say you have to pick up during your pickup time or you forfeit your money. Im sorry but what a horrible business. Like make an exception or learn to have good customer service.

Yelp
Got the butterscotch flavor after hearing so much about A to Z. There was so much hype going into it from friends who have tried it before and even the "drop" lottery system. Heck at $12 a pint I figured it must be good. The truth is, if you stood entered the lottery, stood in line to pick up your pint or risk "forfeiting", and paid more than double the price of other fantastic ice cream, you want this to be the best ever. It just was not that for me or my family. Instead it was a let down as we wanted it to be the pinnacle of ice cream nirvana.

Dylan H.

Yelp
Don't sleep on this ice cream. The flavor combos are out of this world and you won't regret it. After eating "This Pint is on Fireee" I won't look anywhere else for ice cream. Watch for the email/ IG story when it's live or you'll miss it!

K H.

Yelp
The best ice cream you'll ever eat. Such inventive flavors, amazing richness, and good quality ingredients. You can taste that it was made within fresh within hours of you picking it up.
