We were a party of five. We brought my sister here to celebrate her birthday. It did not disappoint. The meal from Beginning to end was creative, beautifully presented and the wine pairings on the mark. It was a very special evening. We dined in the cloister area. It is expensive by some standards but for a fine dining experience, it is on par with other restaurants in major US cities.

I am shocked that this restaurant does not have a Michelin star, the dishes are absolutely fantastic. The scallops and octopus were so tender and delicious. The wild bull and lobster were beyond tasty. You must visit this restaurant and try everything on the menu. After eating there last night, my wife and I are considering eating there again tonight, it’s that good.

Remark: if you’re not used to dining within this price range, watch out for the waiters filling your glass of mineral water again (although you didn’t finish it yet), or replacing the breadbasket “they are offering” for a new one, because they charge everything on your bill. Beside that… The food was exceptional. Even the bread was delicious. All dishes were so refined, but the superlative degree of refinement were the desserts. I had the Mousse de Doce de Leite fumata; It was phenomenal. The mousse had a perfectly balanced sweet and salty flavour, and a hint of smokiness. The mousse was topped off with a coffee flavoured coulis and Tia Maria liqueur, which brought some deeper, slightly bitter notes to the dessert. On the bottom you could find Fleur du Sel and some ground coffee beans, drenched in the delicious coffee flavoured liquid. There was still smoke coming off the dessert when I got it. This smoky sensation, brought very interesting woody tones to the saltiness of the Fleur du Sel and to the sweetness of the condensed milk and honeycomb mousse. The fennel on top brought all the flavours together.

I really wanted to give this a better rating as it came recommended. You will be brought starters as soon as you sit for €15 per person. The Somme is great. The lamb shoulder is average with a lot of salt, but the venison with the truffle is amazing. We had issues with our dessert as we were served what we didn’t order and then ordered what we wanted and in the meanwhile we never received the coffee that we ordered until we reminded them. Overall the restauarent does not deserve the price that is charged, but some of the food is very good.

Google
They automatically serve 8 appetisers depending on the season, the black pork sercreto and the clams were winners Then some one comes to take your order for main course. This could all be explained from the get go, it's not. The foods delicious. But the wine guy here rocks. Order safe if you want but I'd let him order for me every day. Would love to return in the warmer months when the terrace is open. But restos vaulted ceiling is beautiful none the less.

Yelp
The food is superb, service is friendly and professional, and ambiance (in a 17th century convent) unbeatable. A great experience. A little hard to find, but definitely worth the effort.

Yelp
Elegant space in an old convent across the tiny street from where our Lisbon Airbnb is. Food descriptions change nightly, desserts as well. We all left very pleased with our dining experience

Yelp
It was absolutely wonderful all around. These negative reviews are completely baseless.

Yelp
Rude arrogant owner ruins the evening. Giant cockroaches in the bathroom. The dinner started fairly well: we were served "mandatory" 14.5 euro appetizers. At some point the owner guy with immediately bad attitude made his way over our table. Apparently the hype went straight into his head. He mumbled his way through the dishes, forgetting them, did not make any recommendations or explain that scallops, for example, came with green risotto.... regardless we placed our order. Or so we thought. After 1 hr 20 min wait (!!!) we finally lost our patience and flagged one of the waiters who alerted the kitchen. It was clear the senile owner forgot to place the order. Not only he failed to properly apologize, he asked AGAIN for our order, then went and placed it. Then came back and blamed computers. Ahahaha you really communicate orders to your kitchen over computers and not via a notepad clutched in your hand? Yeah hackers swooped in and deleted our order. Very believable. Eventually entrees showed up. Just like appetizers they were swimming in oil and grease. We couldn't wait to get the check. Some lady stopped by and she was one bright spot in the whole operation as she at least told someone to give us free dessert. By that time it had been more than 2 hours well past 10 pm and we just wanted to go home. Finally someone came to charge our credit card and as icing on the cake this guy had the audacity to insist on service charge! Not only we got zero credit for the ruined evening but this is first time ever (including michelin star restaurants) we were asked to specifically pay for "service" anywhere in Portugal or Spain. At last glance I also noticed that 3 slices of very basic bread with teeny bit of olive oil, that we never asked for, added two 3.5 euro charges to our bill. Oh and this place does NOT have a Michelin star like one review had mentioned. Just because someone put a sticker saying Michelin on the entrance door does not mean the place has a michelin star. As a final good-bye there was a giant flying cockroach in the bathroom. Please do us all a favor and don't patronize this establishment with this rude owner and awful service.

Yelp
I am going for five whole stars for this great restaurant that is housed in an old convent of Lisbon. The atmosphere is fantastic, coved ceilings, niches filled with Art, atmospheric lighting... Beautiful! The staff was incredibly attentive and many people including the maître d' waited on our table. Wine was flowing and food was served so efficiently it seemed to just appear on the table. We sat at a long table decked out for our very large party. Immediately appetizer showed up including delicious mackerel pastries, jamon negro, tomato soup shots, shoshito peppers, green beans with almonds... with appetizers like that, how are we supposed to eat dinner? But eat dinner we did. I chose the scallops entrée served with a green spinach risotto. The scallops were succulent and amazing, perfectly cooked. What the real star was, however, was the risotto! Cheesy thick and rich, this is the most memorable risotto I've had in my whole life. Dessert turned into another free-for-all where many different items were brought out - so many in fact I don't think I tried them all! My favorite was a chocolate bite, and the traditional Portuguese egg puff pastry dessert was also served. I don't think you can go wrong with this restaurant-come for the ambience and leave with a big fat belly!

Yelp
This was truly disappointing. The staff was rude, the owner was rude. We didn't ask for anything but for the meat to not be completely raw, and it was as if we asked for a meal that wasn't on the menu. Not only did they refuse, they scoffed in our faces, refused to acknowledge us the rest of dinner, and were incredibly pretentious. We had a group of 12 people and we will never be back. We have family that lives in Lisbon that recommends this restaurant and was sure to tell them to never do so again. Horrible and pretentious. The service you receive does not make the "ambiance" worth it.

Yelp
The ambiance of the restaurant was beautiful and the staff were great but I did not get what I was looking for as far as a culinary experience. The food was so so in my opinion compared to other, much less expensive restaurants I visited in Lisbon. This place would be great to enjoy maybe wine and desert. And don't accept any appetizers you don't want, it gets added to the bill. We also had a very hard time finding the restaurant. It's hidden in an alley but once we found it I feel like I was transported to different, high class world. Definitely worth a visit but not for a full course dinner if you like a packed plate of food.

Yelp
The food and service were both great. I was a little skeptical at first based on one of the reviews I read but fortunately I had a pleasant experience. I left completely stuffed. Also, for all that I ate, I think the price was reasonable. It's surely worth the experience.

Yelp
The Michelin star speaks for itself... very attentive, knowledgeable staff (especially the sommelier), delicious array of small starters for 14.50€ a person (make sure to refuse oysters if you don't want to pay an extra 5€), amazing entrees, and desserts. Put this all together with the beautiful outdoor seating and it's an amazing dining experience!!! Make reservations!!!

Yelp
Transcendent cuisine... loved every inventive dish. My husband and I both agreed this is one of the best restaurants we've ever been to!

Yelp
I got to eat here with a work team and the food, service and of course ambience were so first rate. We had partridge meat in puffed pastry for the main, but overall the only thing that was even close to mediocre were the wines that were chosen for us. A first rate meal with an outstanding kitchen and floor staff. The cool little alcoves in the front of the restaurant are amazing. First class and yes, pricey!

Yelp
This restaurant used to an old convent and is stunning inside. It's very hard to find as it's entrance is in an alley. They have a great, diverse menu and I would say it's modern Portuguese. I had the braised lamb which Was outstanding! The prices were reasonable for a high end experience and service was amazing

Yelp
Good but pretentious service. Lamb and scallops were good but the Mushroom Risotto was fabulous!

Yelp
This was an interesting find. Hyped on the web as one of the top restaurants in Lisbon, it was somewhat disappointing. The room has a nice ambiance but the pics definitely are a bit done up. Further, service was sub-par and pushy. I actually think the waiter was pissed off at us for not ordering wine. Further, they come with a bunch of starters to your table, whether you ordered them or not. 4 or 5 plates came, one after the other, fairly quickly. You are expected to pay a lump sum per person for these. Some were good, some weren't. I would have prefereed to choose myself which ones I ordered. Finally, we had the wild bull and the octupus, neither of which was anything more than average. Without wine, we paid about EUR45 per person. Much too expensive for what you receive, considering this is a back-alley restaurant without anything stellar in terms of location or ambiance. You can do much better in town.

Yelp
Excellent - attentive friendly staff, fantastic surprise tasting menu to start, enthusiastic sommelier who educated us on Portuguese wines.... one of the best unpretentious restaurants in Lisbon for sure.
