Google
A very beautiful vintage place with old-fashioned charm. The food is delicious; we tried almost everything on the daily menu. Unfortunately, we found the portions a little too small for the price. The service was good, but considering how many people work there, we often had to wait for someone to come and take our order. The atmosphere was good but rustic. We didn't find the music very fitting because it was more modern pop than traditional music. I would go back, but only on special occasions because it's not always affordable.

Google
Small restaurant with a very tiny open kitchen but don't let this fool you, the food is excellent. The place specialize in classic, timeless and popular Portuguese dishes served tapas style. We had a mix of everything, beans stew, fish stew, grilled chorizo and desserts, everything was delicious. I highly recommend the place if you want to taste Portuguese delicacies.

Google
The WORST place you can go for dinner. The food is neither good nor authentic, they claim to serve tapas but it’s rather a main dish in size of an appetizer. Food looks horrible and doesn’t taste good. Bread is served in a stinky little fabric bag. Plates are broken and dirty (disgusting!). Service is not good - took a very long time to order, another very long time to serve and a much longer time until someone came with the bill. Then, they tried to scam us. Put more dishes on the bill than we ordered, and just when they saw that we studied the bill - they said there was something weird about it but still wanted to know what exactly we ordered. They apologized and came back with a new (correct) bill, but when I paid, they didn’t give me back my change!!! Horrible place! Cannot recommend to anyone with tastebuds. We left still hungry. This place is overpriced and overrated.

Delicious food for sharing! Interesting decor inside and great music. You can see the chefs prepare food. Staff very attentive. Ceviche was yummy. Good wine. Cash only!

Google
What a night. I stumbled into Faro’s annual summer party in the alleyway and this restaurant was smack in the middle of it. The atmosphere, music, dancing, and energy was incredible. The service was good, they had a special menu for the event. I went specifically for their original menu so was a bit thrown by that, and didn’t love the dishes I got. I was confused by the sopa’s flavor and the mushroom dish was really a giant soaked piece of bread. But that’s my fault for not knowing Portuguese. Shrimp was good & dessert (goat cheese with honey & crushed almonds & chocolate cake with a caramel glaze) had a lot of flavor. The event made up for it & would go back to try their normal menu.

Google
This place was recommended to us by our free walking tour guide as authentic and local. We were not disappointed by the recommendation. The food and service were great, and we would definitely eat here again.

We enjoyed our dinner very much! All the dishes were fantastic, and the desserts were super great. Our favourites were the pork cheek and panacotta. Very cute plates, cutlery etc.

It’s great when you get great food, a cool vibe and excellent service and that’s what we got at A Venda. The eclectic decor is really cool and the chef cooking in what looks like a household kitchen out in the open is an awesome touch and he can cook!! The spicy fish soup and Pork cheek were amazing!!

Yelp
Our tour guide E'll highly recommended it and now we do too! A tiny place on a narrow avenue. Service was great. The food exceptional! Reservations needed. Lots of tapas to share. Highlights included a fig & cheese appetizer, mushroom fennel goat cheese baked in pastry and a tender beef stew. Chocolate fondant is not to be missed. All so good, we have reservations for tomorrow night!

Yelp
In a few words, it's a fantastic find. An alley that comes to life in a simple yet amazing way. Delicious, friendly and so inviting.

Yelp
Excellent lunch at A Venda! We stopped by this cute spot for lunch and shared 4 plates. Everything was wonderful from each dish to the service and atmosphere.

Yelp
Fast friendly Tapas Bar. Dishes heavy in the garbanzo department but tasty none the less. Reasonably priced and mostly freshly prepared. We walked here from the train station and it was a short easy walk even rolling a suitcase and carrying a backpack. #1 on Yelp for this area. Lunch closes at 15:00 the day we visited. Worth a try for a local bite.

Yelp
Oh boy, how lucky were we to find this sweet little hubby pot we were looking for a different restaurant that we had researched. The food is all made fresh in front of you so they can't hide behind microwaves and such. The produce and other ingredients are in full display. We had the gaspacho which was superb, and couscous salad was the best I've ever had... even in Istanbul was in matched. Had to show them som love on Yelp!!!

Yelp
Real Portugees "Slow Food"! Fantastic looking place - takes you back to an ancient family home in Faro! Staff was friendly and helpful, specially when choosing "Petiscos". We really appreciated the philosophy of sharing food, taking your time and celebrating the moment. Highly recommendable that you stop by!

Yelp
Awesome place to eat fresh typical Portuguese food. Everything was delicious, olive oil, octopus salad, goat cheese, eggs and sausage, black sausage, vegerable croquetas, homemade ice tea, coffee.... We went twice and recommend it strongly!

Yelp
This place is now called Saudade em Portuguesa. A simple cafe style restaurant. Lovely waitress. I had a massive beer and a little chorizo (salami) sandwich for around €4. Disappointed A Venda was no longer there, given the rave reviews, but this place was nice & simple.

Yelp
Came here based on other Yelp reviews! Such nice people run this small place off the main part of town. Everything is fresh and made to order, coffee for 1€! I had some shitake mushrooms and the special that day, cod fritters! Will come back this way! Lots of veggie options as well!

Yelp
Amazing! This is my favorite restaurant and the main reason I came back to Faro. Last year I came here for five or six meals. They are very vegan-friendly and have specials in addition to their regular menu, so they are never boring. Last night I enjoyed the seitan with chestnuts, which was interesting and phenomenal. Today I had the seitan with peppers, which was also excellent, but not as wonderful as the seitan with chestnuts. However, I also had the fava bean croquettes and they were exceptional. The food is always top quality and the seitan (house-made) is the best I have had. The restaurant itself feels like you are in a relative's house, but if your relative were extremely talented in the kitchen. I wish this were my local restaurant -- I would be here all the time! Alas, you can't have everything in life, but if you're in Faro, definitely try A Venda. You won't be disappointed.

Yelp
What a find! Just wandering down some back alleys in the bar part of town and found this place. My boyfriend and I stayed for tapas. We got 4 small beers (€1 each!!!), smoked sausage, bread with olive oil, small codfish migas, small fried pork, oven baked goats cheese with chutney which was more than enough to fill both of us up! In my boyfriends words "that cheese is immense" haha! It all came to less than €25! It was so good we came back for the lunch menu the next day which is a starter, soup, dish of the day, drink and a coffee for €6! Best food we had in Portugal hands down! Plus the place is so cute. Very vintage vibe, it feels like you're sitting in someone's living room watching them cook. The two ladies (owners?) are amazing host! Must try in Faro!

Yelp
One of my favorite places to eat in all of Portugal. It's the equivalent of going to your grandmother's for dinner (if your grandma was Portuguese). Loved the atmosphere. My wife and I got the chefs recommendation: about 5 tapas styled plates that were each better than the other.

Yelp
Delicious authentic food. Me and my friend shared three small dishes, both affordable and really good. Helpful staff and nice atmosphere (we sat outside). Great to find a place which serves vegan dishes!

Yelp
Great food - I stumbled upon them in Faro when there on vacation, and was glad I sat down. I went for tapas in the late afternoon, and it wasn't busy.

Pete W.

Yelp
Tiny (24 seats) on a Faro back lane but welcoming and excellent food. We relied on the "Chef's Choice" of the day and were served seafood, lamb, tapas selections and two different wines. The young people who own it are destined for greater things, because they know how to take care of the strangers who wander in (courtesy of Yelp). Try sitting at the community table and meet the local regulars. We had five people-Colorado, Minnesota, Spain - and everyone marveled at how great this experience was.

Yelp
Healtiest food I ever ate. Plus it sooo tasty. They will prepare the food infront of you so it fresh. I tried the mackarel with olive oil it is so yummmmy and the seafood platter also amazingg. For dessert do try the lime and bluberry mouse. Rani

Yelp
So lucky to have happened upon this restaurant while spending a few hours in this cute little town. The hardest part was narrowing down what to order from the variety of vegetarian options, but I ended up with the vegetable soup and some vegetable fritters. Both, particularly the soup, were delicious. The homemade iced black tea with cinnamon was tasty and refreshing as well. After my meal, the staff were nice enough to let me stay to read a book despite the restaurant having already closed. Highly recommend a stop in this gem of a restaurant!

Yelp
We stumbled upon this gem in Faro as we were wandering the streets. It was loved by the entire family.

Yelp
Cute Little place a Bit Off the Main Tourist Tracks in an adorable Little Street. Service is really nice and helpful. The Tapas are Great. We highly recommend the Duck in Red wine sauce (which was a Tapas of the Day). The Rest of the food was of high quality, could have gone with a Bit more seasoning though.

Yelp
This place is really great! Everything is cooked and prepared when ordered. There are many vegetarian and vegan options. It is pretty busy in the evenings so it may be best to make a reservation for parties larger than 2 or 3.
