On the Grid : A Vida Portuguesa

"The neighborhood's crown jewel. After setting a few stores in Lisbon and Porto, A Vida Portuguesa arrived at Intendente with its “flagship” store as one of the first inhabitants of the reconversion. It's hard to define the place in words, since it features a world of vintage Portuguese visual history, so you can and should expect to lose inside its many rooms, but expect to see thousands of portuguese designed products from the early 20th century, reflecting older times when the country was proudly — and foolishly —isolated but also cherished and built brands confidently and with a passion. The graphic languages found here are a designer's fantasy and some of the most exquisite you'll find in Europe." - Nelson Vassalo

Cute homeware store! They have many adorable home goods from linens to decorative pieces. I love the sea urchin bowls and shell plates. One of the staff was a little rude imo, she was tapping her feet impatiently when I was upstairs browsing the linens. The rest of the staff were pleasant at the checkout, they can wrap your items in bubble wrap so it’s safe to pack in your luggage.

This was such a cute homeware shop! It’s beautifully decorated and feels like stepping into a Portuguese version of Anthropologie. Everything is so thoughtfully curated—from vintage-style soaps and ceramics to gorgeous notebooks, tins, and textiles. The vibe is nostalgic but elevated, with lots of local charm. Even if you’re just browsing, it’s a lovely little experience. Definitely worth popping in if you’re looking for unique gifts or something special for your home.

A Haven of Portuguese Wonders – Exceptional Service and Diverse Product Range I recently had the pleasure of visiting A Vida Portuguesa, a homewares store in Lisbon that truly encapsulates the charm and quality of Portuguese craftsmanship. The service was nothing short of fabulous, with staff members who shared their passion and knowledge generously, assisting me in selecting the finest cans of fish—a testament to the country’s rich culinary heritage. The store’s product selection is exceptional, boasting a variety of themes that cater to every corner of the home, from the kitchen to the dining table, and the bathroom to the bedroom. Each item in the store tells a story of tradition and modernity intertwined, offering a shopping experience that is both educational and delightful. I was particularly impressed by the range of products, which allowed me to explore the Portuguese aesthetic in-depth. It’s a place I would recommend to anyone looking to discover the best of Portugal’s lifestyle offerings or to find that special gift that speaks of authenticity and quality.

One of my favorite souvenirs shop. Most of the stuff are from Portugal, but they charge a little higher than original price. If you don’t mind pay a few euro extra, this shop is amazing for the tourist. Beautiful decorations and spacious.

Amazing store! They have great Portuguese quality presents (even madrono jam and liqoues which I couldn't find in other places). The woman was really friendly and helped me a lot.

A Vida Portugusa is a lovely shop, bursting with hidden gems from all corners of Portugal! Each item is thoughtfully curated, and every piece has its own story to share about the talented maker or producer behind it. Feel free to chat with the sales assistants if you have any questions. You'll discover an amazing selection of gifts and goodies, perfect for yourself or someone special. By choosing to shop here, you're not just finding something unique; you're also supporting small businesses and helping to keep traditional craftsmanship alive. Fyi: Locals buy here too :)

When you arrive, there is a sign that says « Welcome to the most beautiful shop in Lisbon », it might sound like an exaggeration, but wow, do they deliver! Everything is gorgeous; the place itself, the products, the packaging, the layout. A real pride in their local products can be felt. Wonderful place to visit and bring back something home from Portugal.
