My husband and I had a wonderful stay! Our room was clean and so comfortable. The location was ideal as it was on a quaint street with plenty of street parking, but was close enough to walk downtown to eat and shop. Larry and Allan were great hosts and having them on site to answer questions, give tips, and make delicious breakfasts was such a nice way to get us acclimated to the city.

The wife and I had an amazing stay here at this lovely b n b. Larry was fantastic providing any details we might need. Sara was the host while we were there. She made the stay truly great. She was friendly able to answer all of our questions and give us plenty of suggestions we found to be excellent. The breakfast was delicious. The house is lovely and convenient. I would suggest to any one needing a get away to think if A wild flower in first.

Wonderful place to stay! Room was very cozy, clean, and inviting. Bed was the most comfortable bed I slept in on our trip! Our host Larry was very kind and went out of his way to accommodate us. Would definitely recommend!

We stayed at A Wildflower Inn on our honeymoon and loved it. We had the basement room and it was nice and quiet, never heard any noise above us. The room was very clean and looked newly remodeled. Allen was the host while we were there, he made some very delicious breakfasts and was full of information and recommendations. It was a lot of fun meeting new people during breakfast and hearing about things they saw or were planning on exploring.

We stayed here in the middle of our trip to Alaska. The house was very clean, and our room in the basement was nice and dark once we closed all the blinds which was the first time we had that experience with the sunsets around 11pm that time of year. The hosts were both very friendly and accommodating as our travel plans changed and we ended up dropping off luggage much earlier than anticipated, and leaving some there after checking out as we explored the museum on the day we checked out. It was also nice to have a delicious breakfast with a group of people and swap stories in the morning.

Larry and Allan have a wonderful place here in Anchorage. They’re super friendly and our room was clean, cute and well appointed. Breakfast is as good as you can hope for - the carmelized French toast is mentioned in a Lonely Planet guidebook and it deserves to be there. Will definitely stop by again when we return to Anchorage. (Also, don’t miss Star the reindeer three blocks north!)

My wife was arriving in Anchorage late in the evening and we needed a place to stay. Wildflower Inn popped up in the usual internet search along with the usual hotels we are so familiar with in Anchorage. The reviews were very good and price was reasonable so I thought to give it a try. SO glad we did! It was a very nice place, great breakfast and Larry’s hospitality was fantastic...and he speaks German! We aren’t tourists, but the location is easy walking distance to downtown. They operate another place in Anchorage called Arctic Fox Inn and I’m sure it’s just as good. I would highly recommend a stay here.

Larry & Allan are amazing hosts! The price is great for the amount of space you receive and amenities such as a fantastic breakfast. They are the type of people you could chat with for hours! Highly recommend the Wildflower Inn!

Yelp
Great place to stay when in Anchorage. A nice walk to downtown so you don't have to worry about driving everywhere. Larry and Alan are great hosts with a great sense of humor and are very helpful in pointing out both tourist places but also local restaurants and other places locals like to go. They turned us on to a couple good restaurants and more. There's also a grocery store across the street if you want snacks or other goodies. I'd recommend this 100% - priced fairly, clean, comfortable beds, TVs, WiFi and more.

Yelp
I am soooo glad I found this place! The setting is charming, and the owners, Larry and Allen are informative and helpful hosts. My "room" was really a small apartment of 3 rooms: bedroom, living room, and small bathroom. All had nice furnishings that fit the time period of the house. Breakfast consisted of hard-boiled eggs, a variety of meats and cheeses, yogurt, and granola. It was filling and a good healthy start to a day of walking. There is a grocery store on the next block, and a bakery two blocks away. The B&B is on I & 13th, which is walkable to just about anything downtown. And you pass by Star the Reindeer on the way!

Yelp
My fiancé and I recently stayed at the Wildflower Inn in the Lupine Suite during our trip to Anchorage over the winter holidays and we had a lovely experience! Larry and Allen and fantastic hosts and we chatted with Larry every morning over breakfast about our possible activities for the day. The Lupine Suite was actually two separate rooms - the first one had a very comfortable king bed and the second room (not attached but you are the only people up that set of stairs) has a futon in case you need somewhere for the kids to sleep. It was SO helpful having the second room so we could spread out and use that as a staging area (you have so many layers during the winter)! The other room up that set of stairs is your bathroom. The shower had plenty of hot water and while the sink is very small, there is a good amount of counter space around it! Lots of fluffy, soft towels were provided. We LOVED our breakfasts! They had bread for toasting, bagels, English muffins, fruit, salami and some cheeses, oatmeal, Greek yogurt with nuts and granola and honey, orange juice, coffee, tea and probably more that I'm forgetting! Larry also made us eggs one day and an eggy pancake thing another day and both were tasty! Like most B&B's the selection probably changes with the seasons/what's available but it will always be good! If you have any dietary restrictions just let Larry know in advance! They have one parking spot off I street and one parking spot off 13th street. There was also free street parking and a smaller independent grocery store (where you can get cappuccino and other coffee drinks) across the street. Just 2 blocks away you can visit Fire Island Rustic Bakeshop which also has coffee, baked goods, and sandwiches.

Yelp
Frist and fore most, the hospitality at The Wildflower Inn/Arctic Fox Inn is the best I have experienced. We stayed at the Arctic Fox Inn for 1 night in apartment 5 and it was beautiful. Very well decorated, CLEAN, and comfortable! Breakfast was so good and even better coffee! We stayed three night at their rental property, The Sunflower. Again the standards are set high for any bed and breakfast after visiting here! Comfortable bed, great sheets, soft towels and enough pots and pans to make a good dinner or lunch if you want to cook. Rates were very reasonable and the customer service was next level. Do yourself a favor and call them! Larry is a wonderful man to speak with.

Yelp
I stayed here two nights ago and it was fabulous! I was in the Lupine Suite; it featured a separate sitting room, a beautiful modern bathroom, luggage rack, TV with Netflix, an armoir, basically everything you could need. There is a ceiling fan which cooled the room and made for perfect sleeping. The bed was very comfortable. Larry made breakfast in the morning... scrambled eggs with fixings in a tortilla. There was also fruit, coffee, juices, tea, and cereal available, just to name a few. I parked on the street and had no trouble finding a spot. We will definitely stay here again!!

Yelp
I would definitely come back! The Wildflower Inn is cleaner than any of those hotel chains. The owners are very friendly. The room was very clean, beds were comfy, and the bathroom was super clean!

Yelp
This was a fantastic place to stay in Anchorage. Larry and Allan were great hosts, very warm and friendly. Their breakfast was delicious and just the right size. They have a great location next to a local coffee shop and then they're not far from going downtown. I highly recommend this place if you need a place to stay in Anchorage.

Yelp
We stayed at Wildflower prior to heading to Denali (where we eloped!) and it was a great B&B. Rooms are comfortable, king size bed is plush, bathroom was recently remodeled, and Larry and Allan are amazing hosts and cooks - the breakfasts were great! Caramelized french toast one day (OMG good!) and an egg scramble the next. They gave us info about what to see and do in Anchorage, and one afternoon sat and chatted with us while we drank a bottle of wine. The B&B is conveniently located, you can easily walk downtown. There's ample parking also. Highly recommended!

Yelp
My friend Chris and I stayed here for three nights during the Iditarod. It's a gorgeous little three-room bed and breakfast. The proprietors are incredibly warm and welcoming and are very flexible with your schedule. The breakfasts are all cooked to order and are gourmet. So cool; they really made this a wonderful experience.

Yelp
This place is a cozy B&B conveniently located within walking distance of downtown and a small grocery store. The owners Larry and Allan were very nice and we enjoyed chatting with them about the area, their travels, and how they came to be B&B owners. The other guests were nice too - much older than us (we're 30) but also very adventurous (guess you have to be to end up in Alaska). The B&B is quaint and a bit small - the rooms were a tight squeeze for us since we came with a ton of gear to go camping/backpacking and that all needed to be sorted when we arrived. Larry and Allan were gracious enough to allow us to ship a box to the B&B ahead of time which was really nice of them. Breakfast was a highlight here - freshly cooked. I think we had a swedish pancakes one day and a caramelized french toast the other. Plus eggs, cereals, yogurt, fruit, etc. I would definitely recommend staying here as it's very cost effective when compared to the local hotels. The owners were really caring and the place itself while small is very tastefully decorated and immaculately clean. Tip for Anchorage - go for a run or walk along the Coastal trail - it's so beautiful and not too busy. We didn't see any amazing wildlife (moose etc.) but we've been told sometimes you do run into some neat creatures.

Yelp
This is a bit over due, but better late then never! We stayed in May 2015... Aloha; We arrived from Hawaii and friends flew in from California, we were on our way to our Alaska Cruise for our 60th Birthday with classmates from class of 73 Punahou School. We stayed in side by side "Cabins" that Larry & Allan own not to far from the Wildflower Inn property! Excellent accommodations, comfortable beds, hot showers, perfect places to return to when we came back from a long day of sightseeing. Included in our stay was one morning breakfast, excellent food! Mahalo, Mahalo to our hosts Larry and Allan, you made out trip more memorable, and so special! Aloha a hui hou! Chickie & Joe

Yelp
Wildflower is wonderful. Larry and Allan and their family make the place feel like a home, a place you are happy to spend your hard earned dollars. What kind of magic sheets are on the comforters? Like velvet clouds.

Yelp
I stayed here for fifteen nights in February and March 2009 for Fur Rondy and the Iditarod. The location is great. 4th street, the main street of Anchorage, is a ten minute walk away. On the way downtown, you will pass Star the Reindeer and walk through Delany Park. The walk is very pleasant and I walked it several times a day. By walking three blocks south you can get on one of Anchorage's well maintained trails. This trail goes along a creek and connects of with the great coastal trail. These trails a great for walking, biking and skiing. The Wildflower would be a great place for a cross country skier to stay. You would have access to over twenty miles of groomed ski trails with no car needed. There is a medium size market across the street for quick meals and snacks. There are probably about one hundred restaurants within a fifteen minute walking radius. I also walked to the Sullivan Arena to see a hockey game. Anchorage sidewalks are so well lit there was no problem walking home at 10:30 pm. The accommodations are simple and clean. I had two bedrooms and a bathroom for the winter bargain rate of $79 a night. This was my first B&B experience so I was a little worried. Would I be forced to eat breakfast and socialize with a bunch of strangers? I am used to the anonymity of large hotels so I wasn't sure if I would be comfortable in a small three room B&B. The hosts were very friendly without being overbearing. In the beginning they were very polite and professional. As the days went on and I loosened up they did too. They are quite amusing. The night Allen was crashing around the kitchen with the stove was quite amusing. He was told stoves are self-leveling. If you rock them back and forth they will level out. The guys are quite entertaining. Ask Larry to do a dance for you. Don't worry, like stoves Larry and Allen are self-leveling and you won't get more of them than you can handle. The Wildflower is great. I am already planing my next visit to Alaska and the Wildflower.

Yelp
I haven't stayed here, but my dad has and had great things to say. Since Dad's not Yelp-savvy, I'll speak on his behalf. My dad chose A Wildflower Inn because of it's proximity to my place (two blocks away). Why didn't my dad stay with me, you ask? My place is very small and my baby boy was waking up and crying through the night and my dad is a light sleeper. That's why. It's not like I'm a devil child or anything. Anyhoo, my dad's room was very quiet and he slept well every night. He enjoyed the breakfasts the proprietor cooked and the restaurant suggestions he made. The owner also recommended daily scenic walking routes around the neighborhood and the coastal trail. I met my dad at the Inn a few times and it is very clean and nicely decorated. I would definately recommend it to out of towners looking for well-priced accommodation in downtown Anchorage. And they do have beautiful wildflowers in the summer.

Yelp
Our host Allen was great, he was friendly, welcoming and very knowledgeable about the area. He gave our group some great suggestions on sites to see and restaurants to try. The rooms were comfortable and clean and the breakfasts were delicious. Our host went above and beyond and gave us rides to the car rental place and the train station. I would not hesitate to stay at this BnB again. Thanks Again!

Yelp
We have stayed at A Wildflower Inn many times. Larry and Allan are excellent hosts and breakfast is always delicious. The bedrooms are roomy and the added sitting room (attached) is great. The location is good as well. Although it is downtown, it is very quick and easy to get to from the airport. I would totally recommend A Wildflower Inn.

Yelp
I was recently in Anchorage for a conference, and was fortunate enough to discover A Wildflower Inn. What a fantastic place to stay! It's a lovely house in a quiet neighborhood, yet just a short walk from downtown. The hosts, Larry and Allan create a warm and welcoming atmosphere, rich with hospitality. Highly recommended!
