Unfortunately the exhaust fan in the toitel did not work and was not repaired for the complete duration of our stay. The cleaning though booked on the app never took place. The staff member at reception was freindly and gave us complimentary breakfast the next 2 days and tried his best to make our stay comfortable, however basics were lacking for a good stay. That aside, location is excellent, works on price performance.

FAMILY ROOM REVIEW We stayed in one of the family rooms with our two small children. We had our own space and our own bathroom/shower. For the price and value of what you get, it can't be beat. The other hotel options we looked at in the city wouldn't have included breakfast and would have cost more than double what we ended up paying to have our own room and breakfast for the whole family included here. At the end of the day, it is a cheap hostel. Nothing fancy and it isn't in pristine condition. The windows are thin, so you do get street noise and train noise from the main station directly next door. There are absolutely no additional amenities in the rooms like a mini-fridge or coffee maker. However, we are a family traveling and therefore looking for ways to save money doing so. We don't need perfectly painted walls or a coffee machine in the room. We need clean beds, a shower, and a toilet. That's exactly what. you get here and we were very pleased! The breakfast is a nice addition and is a surprisingly nice spread for the price. For the location and price, it's a no brainer to stay here for our family.

Nice hostel close to the station which you can hear very well. But you know this when booking this hostel - when sleeping on the top bunk not Every bed has a place to keep your glasses or Phone. - No lockers in the rooms -the showers where very mouldy -the lunch was not Worth the almost 9 euro + I had troubles with very loud roommates and the staff helped me by changing rooms ( at 1:20am) + everything is very close by. + breakfast was good My conclusion : if they would renovate the hostel ( thicker Windows, newer rooms and lockable storage in the rooms) it would be perfect

CLOGGED TOILETS EVERYWHERE (not my fault) Food. The food was decent but people ate all our food before we got to it, even though we had reservations. Bead was good tho. The drinks are good. Entertainment. There is a pool table and football table but you have to pay for 1 hour. In some rooms there is a TV but they are stuck on 1 channel and 1 remote didn't have battery's Sleep. You need to make your own bed but it is very sympol. Lights out at 10pm. The trains kept me up. Also why so many ambulances?!? Accessibility. SO MANY STAIRS. But there is a lift that can fit around 5 people, but the buttons you have to press HARD like I thought I would break it. But it is in an amazing area, right next to a train station. Near a Christmas market.

Friendly staff, perfect location. Dormitory rooms are very small but not bad for a quick stay. However I couldn't have a breakfast there because I don't have a bank card yet, so anyone who is new in Germany and haven't yet get his german card would not be able to have their breakfast, you have go and search outside. Always expect to lose some food from the refrigerator in the kitchen, some travelers are food thieves.

Worst hotel I have ever been to before, made me not want to come to Germany ever again. The public toilets are a disaster, the strenght of the water in the showers are super bad and low, while I was showering the water suddenly went boiling hot, they are very lucky I didnt get a second degree burn. Yes it is very close to the center but there are no drawers or cabinets or anywhere to store my clothes and other stuff. They were giving out free coffee to some people while making others pay. I can hear whatever is going on in other rooms including talking, doing their business in the toilet etc...When we first arrived, they could not open the underground parking and we had to wait half an hour to be able to move our cars there. This was litterally my worst stay ever and will not recommend booking at Aohostels to anyone.

Nice and friendly staff, interesting guests, had many great conversations. Keep in mind that the train station is extremely close. Hence, even if you are not sensitive to noise, bringing noise cancelling headphones. That really helps to sleep.

I had a wonderful experience staying at the a&o Hostel in Aachen Hauptbahnhof! The location is super convenient—right next to the train station, which made reaching the hostel really easy and convenient, especially since I had just arrived from India. The city center is also just a short walk away, making it a great base for exploring Aachen. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and had everything I needed for a pleasant stay. What really made my visit stand out, though, was the incredible service. The General Manager, Paula, went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect. She was so friendly, helpful, and professional—truly the perfect GM! You can tell she genuinely cares about guests and takes pride in the hostel. I will definitely stay here again the next time I need to stay at a hostel, and I would absolutely recommend this hostel to everyone coming to Aachen—especially international students. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a welcoming, well-run, and affordable place to stay!

Yelp
This was my first ever hostel. I was traveling alone from Ramstein, Germany to Maastricht, Netherlands and decided to stop a Aachen, Germany to rest. I asked for a private room and it was awesome. Customer service here is awesome. I didn't have a converter to charge my phone and the front desk guy trusted to let me borrow his for the night. Wht a life saver! The building itself looks old on the inside, but its very clean. The room included a bed, that was actually two mattresses put together, but it worked. I tend to sleep on one side of the bed. The matresses were VERY comfty. As small as this room was, it had a desk, a nice mirror, a TV and a nice shower room. I would definitely stay here again for a night or two if i ever go back. Worth the money. The room goes pitch black when you turn everything off. Overall very comfortable. Oh! And convenient for those traveling by train. The train station is an 6 min walk from the Aachen Train Station and a short walk to the center of town!
