Stayed in early Jan 2025 on Sat and Sun so price went up and hotel was busy too. Less guests on Sunday. Heaters in room and bathroom work well. Good hot water. Old hotel and old room and the cleanliness is so so. Room is large enough and has a window but no balcony. Room lighting is not as bright as I like, only 2 lights in bedroom and 1 light in bathroom. One elevator didn’t work so we used another elevator. Can scan the QR code at Reception to fill in guests details and show them the confirmation number at the end to receive your 2 room electronic key cards. Reception staff are doing their job fine, not showing much interest in guests. We prefer the a&o Hbf in Munich: cleaner, has balcony and staff services are warmer.I cooked a simple meal in the guest kitchen once, washed and cleaned before I left. Some previous guests didn’t clean their dishes and the pan they cooked pasta. There’s a microwave, an electric oven and a refrigerator. I used the pot to boil and pan to fry. Can sit about 6 persons in the kitchen.

2 elevators work well. Sorry for my mistake in previous review I thought 1 didn’t work. I pressed the wrong button. 1 brings you down the breakfast area and the working space which look very bright, colorful and energetic. 1 brings you down near the Reception area. They sell coffee in the Lobby too.The housekeeping staff never cared if I put up the Do Not Disturb sign. He just opened the room without knocking. Another male staff the next day also knocked my door when I put up that sign again. They want to empty the trash daily. I used my nail and could take out the black mold in the shower room wall. They should brush the walls and brush the area around the drainage in basin. You can use the microwave, electric kettle and pan to cook your foods in the Guest Kitchen. Saw the laundry room but don’t know if that is free. Can walk for 2 km to visit the famous Elbphilharmonie. Get a free ticket at the entrance, go up the long escalator and view the city.

A&O Hamburg Hauptbahnhof was just what I needed for a quick stopover between trains. I booked a private room, which was clean and basic. The shared kitchen was a great perk for preparing my own meals. I didn’t spend much time at the hotel, but it served its purpose perfectly.

We booked the hotel through the “Hostel” app, where it said that we could check in from 11 am, when we went to the reception they told us that we could check in at 3 pm… There were hygiene problems in the bathroom and toilet. It would be good if normal disinfectant or hygiene liquids were used for cleaning. Also, the bed numbers are not managed. We were in a 6-person dorm, but there were other people in our place, and we didn’t even find towels in our bed. 3 out of 6 lockers were broken and couldn’t be closed, and it was also impossible to store a large bag. I understand that 20 euros is cheap, but we are in a 6-person room and we are asking for acceptable conditions for a person. I hope they will fix it and we will be able to come later. We liked the billiards area and table football. We appreciate your consideration of our recommendations for the future. 👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌✊✊✊✊✊✊adress it was near bahnhof and this is verry good, but near hostel nothing happened, becose this place it is another side centre…

At arrival we were given a very bad dorm, it was small and smelly, although they changed us to a better dorm, we wouldn't have stayed in the first one. The kitchen is very small, without any window and there's a big big lack of kitchenware; only one pan and it was completely useless (photo attached), the drying rack for dishes is just a flat tray that makes the washed dishes keep the water. Also the mandatory check in through a link is quite annoying since at check in times there's a big queue and it takes more than an hour because everyone is trying to fill the form. I would not stay in this hostel again.

I stayed at A&O Hamburg Hauptbahnhof for two nights and was very impressed by the location. It's right next to the central station, making it incredibly easy to get around the city. The room was clean and had everything I needed for a short stay, including a comfy bed and free Wi-Fi. The staff was friendly and helpful. If you're just passing through Hamburg or want to be close to the action, this place is ideal.

I had a good experience at the hostel, and I honestly don’t understand why it received bad reviews. To be upfront, my room wasn’t on the first or second floor. I went downstairs and saw my room number was 29, and I was a bit confused at first. But when I entered, the room was surprisingly spacious, and both the toilet and shower were clean and well-maintained. It wasn’t the most luxurious place, but for £11 a night, it was perfectly fine. I stayed in an 8-bed mixed dorm. Despite Hamburg being cold outside, my room was very warm—so much so that I had to open the window on the first night! If others had negative experiences, it might just be a matter of bad luck. Personally, I liked the place. For the price and location, it’s definitely acceptable.

Some people of the staff, it seems they don’t like their job or are indifferent. I wanted to order a coffee & I was standing at the bar & the guy was like: come order here (1 meter away)! I told him, you know what? I’ll have a coffee somewhere else. They had some paid actors to do the marketing for them, but I urge that your motto of “everyone can travel” is way better marketing sign that posting fake photos of people with happy face checking in or out. There’s no happy face I saw at the reception when I checked out. The check in is too late, at 3PM! Back to what I wrote in what I liked up there, if it was any other place, they would’ve thrown out that guest that I talked about, they don’t need security personnel, they need house clean up The place is very huge, it’s a nice facility, super close to the HbF, which is very handy. They have a nice place in the reception to be able to sit down and read and enjoy. The way they managed the little conflict that came up with the Turkish/German guest who was threatening I assume many people who would show up to his room in the second floor was fine. The staff professionally changed my room, which was nice I’m fine with it! They gave me a room at the end of the corridor at 5th floor it took me 10 minute to come up & down the room. So they selectively give the beds based on probably the criteria they have within their policy, which is fine, but why would they put me in the same room as a potential criminal is beyond me.
