I had a deeply disappointing experience at this hostel. Upon arrival, despite empty beds being available in the same room as my friend, receptionist Emily refused to accommodate us together. Instead, she insisted that I take bed number 6—the top bunk—while leaving a perfectly available bottom bunk empty.
To make matters worse, I was handed the bed sheets rather than finding my bed prepared. Normally, making your own bed isn’t a big deal, but when you’re forced into a top bunk, late at night, without turning on the lights to avoid disturbing others, it quickly becomes an exhausting and uncomfortable ordeal. Struggling to secure the elastic cover on the mattress in complete darkness after an exhausting day of traveling is the last thing anyone wants to deal with. Also, towels were not provided by hostel, that would cost you extra at this hostel.
On top of that, the receptionist misguided us about parking options, insisting that we had to park at a nearby hotel’s parking lot for 15 euros per 24 hours. Fortunately, after calling a friend for advice, we discovered free parking on our own—something that should have been properly communicated by the hostel staff in the first place.
This lack of basic hospitality and consideration made my stay incredibly frustrating. If you’re looking for a hostel that values guest comfort and reasonable accommodation requests, I’d strongly advise looking elsewhere.
